"Ban gaya kande?" Vishnu Thamma entered the byre

I stepped a little away from Manik.

"Haan Vishnu Amma bas wahi banane jaa rahe the." I said looking at the cowdung heap

"Nandu jaldi banao. Amma aata hi honga ek ghante mein"

"Oh My God one hour,Come on Nandini what are you waiting for let's do it."

I rolled my eyes. First he makes me dance and now he is saying as if I'm the one who is procrastinating. Huh!

"Don't worry Vishnu Anna kaam ho jayega."

Anna agreed and departed.

"Okay Manik I'm coming in two minutes" I said slipping into my slippers

"Maggi banane jaa rahi ho? Mere liye bhi banana" He wiggled his brows

"I'm gonna change ok" I rolled my eyes

"O la la mai bhi aata hu na"

"Shut up and kande banao"

Before he could open his mouth I left.

"What the hell Manik? " I came back and saw the dung littered on the floor and Manik was in the middle spreading it with his hands.

Okay I get it he didn't know to make Kanda. But what was the need to spread it on the floor?

"Making kande" He said confidently

"By spreading it everywhere" I walked towards him

"Ouch" I slipped on the cowdung and yes Manik didn't see me falling so I ended up hurting my butt.

It pained like a freaking hell.Then I heard laughter from somewhere. Oh wait it was my very own Manik Malhotra laughing at my condition.

"Manik!!! How dare you laugh? Huh?"

"Means I need to take permission for laughing huh? Seriously girlfriends are aafat." He laughed more

Wait I'm gonna show you what's called aafat.

"Wese Nandini tum gayi thi change karne and aayi wapas is night suit me? Like seriously? Kande banane ke liye night suit kaun pehnta hai? And who bhi milky white and now see it turned into a perfect hue of du---"

He couldn't complete his sentence because I took a handful of dung and hurled it upon him that landed on his dudh jesi safed white shirt.

Bada aya mujhe bolne wale milky white night suit. Huh!!

"Nandini!!" He shouted

"I was you know balancing the boyfriend-girlfriend equation" I smirked

"Okay then let's balance it in a better way."

He stood up and threw another shot at my pajamas.

"I hate you Manik"

"Mutual feeling" He giggled

Thus, began the great cowdung fight between the two ever bickering couple MaNan.

Shots after shots now we both put up a cowdung make-up on our body including some parts of our faces.

Ewwww

I know this would be your reaction right now seeing us in this situation.

But what can be done.

You know we're MaNan.
Hamara kuch nahi ho sakta!

Towards the end of the fight I slipped again but I'm grateful to my helping boyfriend that he held my arms and prevented my second fall.But in the process we actually came closer with our breaths fanning each other's face.

Wait!! Was he trying to kiss me? Hell no in this condition! We both were stinking. I mean our clothes but still.

I saw his gaze lingered on my lips. Even I couldn't help to take my eyes off his soft lips.In a few seconds his lips brushed mine.I couldn't stop my stomach from doing a somersault.

But just before I could nibble his lips a cow mooed breaking our moment. But nonetheless I was thankful to her. What if Amms would come and see us kissing?

"F***! "

"Stop swearing Manik, Ab we gotta clean ourselves okay?"

He nodded

We moved towards the backside of the byre and found an open tank near its end.

"Thank God we can clean ourselves." Manik sighed and in the next moment I was lifted off the ground and thrown into the pool kinda tank.

"Manik I'll get drowned" I started panicking inside the water

Manik dived in and caught me by my waist.

"I won't let you drown and morever see it isn't even covering your waist."

I looked around and was relieved seeing the water level. I bit my bottom lip.

"Don't do that" He said

"Huh?"

And then he began splashing water on me which was more for washing off the dung. I did the same and when we were almost done I was panting for all the physical exercise I did by splashing and running across the length and breadth of the pool.

"Manik chalein ab?" I looked around and bit down my bottom lip once more

"I told you don't do that."

"What happ-----"

I couldn't complete because he captured my lips in an instant and started kissing me hungrily.

I guess my action turned him on, isn't it?

I didn't resist him more so I responded to his fiery liplock. And we both kissed until we were short of oxygen.

We broke apart and moved out of the tank.I turned on the other tap and by the time the dirty water would drain into the fields.

Once we changed into dry clothes we came downstairs to the byre. Hardly thirty minutes were left for the task.

"Manik just see this youtube video okay.We need to hurry up and do this within thirty minutes."

He nodded. We both watched the video and then started making small rolls of the dung  mixing it with some water at the same time. Manik too did the same and then after making a few rolls I  took it in my hand and placed it on the plane cemented surface. I pressed it making a circle and then one cake was completed.

Manik repeated the process and by the end of thirty minutes we made fifty pieces of kande.

"Thank you Nandini" Manik said whils wiping the water from his hands with his kerchief.

"Come on Manik thank you mat bolo please. It's just a fraction of what you have been doing since few days."

He smiled and engulfed me into a hug.

"Wow Manik kamal kar diya tune. Kande bana bhi liye and the cow milk it's looking yum." Mukti and the gang came and she patted his back

What a perfect entry! All came after our hard work. But I was glad we could get some privacy.

"Well done Manik" Amms voice was heard from a distance.

Thank God she praised Manik for his efforts.

"Thank you Amms" Manik smiled

"So Manik be ready for tomorrow's task." She uttered and left

Everyone congratulated for Manik's victory in this task. I batted my eyelashes at him. He was smiling and I was happy to seeing his genuine smile.Manik was coming near me but I excused myself. Because I needed to go somewhere.

"Nandu waha kya kar rahi ho? Yaha ao sit by my side" Amms called me while I was leaning against the door frame listening her singing a bhajan.

"Amms I love your voice." I side hugged her

"Aww and I love you Nandu" She kissed me on the forehead

"Waise tum yaha kya kar rahi ho? You should take rest now."

"Haa bas aapse kuch baat karni thi mujhe."

"What happened? Any problem Nandu?" She furrowed her brows

"No Amms no problem"

I don't know how to say but I had to say this to Amms

"Amms can you please reduce the amount of tasks assigned to Manik?" I asked half closing my eyes

I was scared of the reaction. There was silence for two minutes.

"Why Nandu? Usne kuch kaha kya?"

"N-no Amms Manik ne aesa kuch nahi kaha. Woh toh mai chahti hu ki aap uski punishment thodi kam kar do. I mean he's performing well so considering that if you could reduce them then I would be super happy. Please Amms mere liye?" I urged

Okay again there was a pall of silence for a few minutes.

"Yeah Manik is doing good in every task so I can think of reducing the amount of tasks." She beamed

Aah finally she agreed but wait I wasn't done yet.

"But Amms meri aur ek condition hai." Her eyes widened.

"Amms do saal pehle jo kuch bhi hua it wasn't just Manik's fault. Even I was responsible for the same. You can say it was a big big misunderstanding. So jab we both were responsible for that tragedy then why would only Manik suffer ? I mean I was equally responsible for everything then why not me? Why not punish me along with Manik? Why only he was undergoing those hard punishments? Why not we both get punished for all the misunderstandings we had created two years back?" I held Amms hand in mine

She was just listening without saying a word

"Amms I wish I hadn't left India suddenly. Maybe agar main yaha ruk jati toh shayad circumstances different hote.Hum dono ko pata chal jata ki yeh sab Harshad ka scheme tha.And maybe we would have cleared all our differences and maybe we would have been married by now."

"Hmmmm" She nodded

"Amms I hope you're understanding what I'm saying."  I pressed my lips into a thin line

"Yes Nandu teri Amms hoon Hitler nahi ki kuch na samjhu." She pressed my hand  indicating that she got me.

"Thank you so much Amms" I hugged her

"Toh Nandu tum kya chahti ho?"

"Amms mai chahti hu ki aap tasks kam kar do and ab jo bhi tasks honge hum dono sath mein karenge." I said breaking the hug

"Okay Nandu you know in  Hindu marriage we take 7 vows. Jo hum hindi mein kehte hai sath phere."

"Yeah Amms."

" Initially I had kept ten for Manik. But now I'm reducing it to seven. So four tasks Manik did with your help and the rest three you will do with his help. Just like the saath phere where some promises are made by both the man and the woman similarly  now I'm assigning seven tasks now.Four tasks has been completed by him and remaining three will be done by you with his help.Just like the seven vows , four by the man and three by the woman, four tasks by Manik and three by you.You can say it a compatibility test with a mythological significance."

"Wow what an idea Amms!! Thank you so so much for considering my opinion. You're the best Amms anyone can ever get " I hugged her excitedly

Wait a second how did she know that I helped Manik? And she didn't scold us?

"Amms apko kaise pata chala I was helping Manik?"  My cheeks flushed

"I'm your Amms Nandu. I know you love that guy so mujhe pata tha tum uski help zarur karogi..Aur wese bhi mai soch rhi thi tasks reduce kar du because that guy isn't that bad as I had thought earlier.Itna thoda toh samjh gayi main use."

I was grinning like a fool now.

"Ab jao Nandu but remember though I have agreed to your conditions but I don't want you to meet privately ok? "

"Okay Amms" I kissed her on the cheek and left her room
