Nandini's Pov

I woke up and found Manik sleeping like a baby.He looked damn cute with his pink lips and that sexy mole being the cherry on the top.

I was literally staring at him when I realized it was already 7 am.I came out of the bed but something stopped me midway.I found Manik holding my wrist.

"Manik choro na"

"Thodi der mere pas betho na"

"Manik it's 7am we don't have time."

"Nandu please" Manik said with a baby pout making me go awww over him

"Nanduu beta uth gayi tu?"

Shit Amms !!

"Manik Amms is coming to my room"

Manik stood up with a jerk.

"Amms kaha hai Amms? Yaar darati kyu ho?"

"Main dara nahi rhi. I heard her voice."

There was a knock at my door.

"Nandu uth gayi kya?" Amms was knocking

I caught hold of Manik almost making him limp on the floor and pushed him down the ladder in the balcony

"Aesa bhi koi karta hai kya?" Manik cringed his nose.

"Haan jab Amms aa jaye toh aesa hota hai..Now goooo" I shouted and he went down successfully without any injury

I rushed towards the washroom and taking a toothbrush between my teeth I opened the door.

"Nandu itna der kiya?"

"Woh Amms main brush kr rhi hu"

"Okay Nandu get ready and you all come to the garden at seven past thirty."

"Okay Amms I'll inform the others too."

I made a conference call and informed Manik and the rest of the gang.

Manik shouted mocking Amms strictness but eventually he had to agree.

Manik's pov

Ugggh this Amms. Nandini used to call me monster but the real monster is her Amms. Like seriously 7.30am? Who calls everyone in the garden  so early in the morning?

We all were standing in the garden waiting for  Hitler Madam

Last time I had to clean the whole garden and the clothes. Now what? Do I need to water the plants now? Yes I guess that's why she called us here.I was smiling.

"Oye Manik kya socha raha hai?" Cabir gave me his wide toothed grin

"Kuch bhi nahi "

"Toh kya kal raat ki baatein ko lekar smile de rhe the?"

"Raat ki konsi baat?" I asked

"So tu chahta hai main sabke samne bolu?"

"Kon si baat Cabir?" Navya interrupted

"Wahi raat ki baat?" Cabir winked at her

Damn !!

Cabir and his sexual innuendos!

"Achaa raat ki baat?"  Navya stressed on the word achaa. She was no less than Cabir.

"Kal raat ko kya hua?" Nandini asked innocently

Nandini and her innocence. Huh!

"Yeh humein kese maloom rehega" Navya replied her back

"Arey now only you said na achaa raat ki baat." Nandini smiled

"Woh toh tumhe or Manik ko pata hoga na" Cabir added

And the very next moment I saw Nandini turning into a red tomato.

"Now Cabir and Navya stop teasing my girl okay"

"My Girl!, Acha hai Manik lage raho" Navya winked at me and I glared making her smile vanish in a second.

"But muskura kyu raha tha tu Manik?" Cabir started once again

"Cabir I was laughing Because I think Amms next task will be to water the plants.Bas that's it.Nothing more."

"You mean tip tip barsa pani and pani ne aag lagayi." Cabir said out of the blue

"Whattttttt?" Me and Nandini asked together

"Arey dekho ab plants ko water karoge toh Nandini bhi aayegi tumhari madad karne.And I'll make sure you both are alone so that you both can drench yourselves and then you know tip tip barsa pani, pani ne aag lagayi,aag lagi jo-----"

Oh God Cabir started singing but before he could utter his nonsensical words  I interrupted him

"Ho gaya tumhara? Now keep your mouth shut."

"Okay."

"Manik Amms aa rahi hai" Nandini said while blushing at the same time

"Wow ap log sab yaha hai.Toh Manik ready ho aaj ke task ke liye."

"Yeah Amms full on ready." I chirped excitedly

"Vishnu come here." and Vishnu came with a big basket along with a rope.

What was that for?

"Manik our coconuts are famous all over Mangalore. And honestly I love it."

"Wow I would love to have them" I replied with excitement in my voice.

"Sure but pehle Vishnu will bring some for us."

"Okay.."

Vishnu made a loop from the rope and fit his feet into it.Did some warm up kinda thing and then he started climbing the huge coconut tree with the basket hanging from his elbow.

"Manik aaj yeh Amms kya karne wali hai?" Mukti asked

"Arey can't you see she will let us drink fresh coconut water."

"Are you sure Manik?"

"Yeah Mukku chill."

Within a few minutes Vishnu reached the top and plucked coconuts, placed them in the basket and in a lightening speed he was on the ground.

We all clapped for him.

"Wow Vishnu Anna awesome." I praised him and he smiled timidly because Amms was there too

"So Amms let's have the coconut water now." I told casually

"No Manik you can't?"

"But why Amms ?" asked Nandini

"Nandu this is for me and my friend's family whom I going to meet now."

"Ohh okay."

"So Manik chalo chalte hai kaam ho gaya." Cabir dared to say

"Cabir kisne kaha kaam ho gaya. Tum sabko coconut water chahiye na?"

"Yes Amms I'm damn thirsty." Alya told while   fanning her throat.

It's called over acting. Huh!

"Sure Alya beta but uske liye coconuts pluck krne honge."

"Haan toh Vishnu Anna hai na." Dhruv murmered but Amms heard him

"Nahi toh Vishnu mere sath jaa raha hai. Coconuts Manik pluck karega us tree se."

She pointed towards another tree and we turned our head to see a coconut tree taller than the previous one towards the southern end of the garden.

"What?" We all asked in unison.

We were shocked would be an understatement.

"Yes Vishnu has given the demonstration so I'm sure Manik kar lega. Kyun Manik ?" Amms directed her gaze upon me

Wow what a task?

Here I was dreaming of watering plants with Nandini and yes Cabir's tip tip barsa pani was playing in my dreams. And look what I got to do. Like seriously? Climbing a coconut tree?

"Yeah" I nodded reluctantly

"What yes Manik?  No way Amms Manik won't do this task."

I was surprised seeing Nandini speaking against Amms

"Nandu remember if he doesn't complete the tasks I won't let this marriage happen.  And Nandu it's for your good only. Main bhi dekhu yeh ladke tumhare liye kya kya karta hai. If it's true love I'm sure he can do anything."

Yes she was right I can do anything for Nandini.

"But Amms if he gets injured then?" Nandini  asked anxiously

"Don't worry Nandu I'm strict but itna bhi nahi ki I won't take safety measures. Vishnu will spread safety net on the ground.Manik ko kuch nahi hoga."

"Yeah guys don't worry mujhe kuch nahi hoga.My love for Nandini is true and iske liye mujhe fire examination bhi deni padhe I'll give." I spoke confidently

"Fire examination?" All asked as if I had grown two heads

"Woh kya kehte hai na...Haan A-ag-agni Pariksha"

"Is ladke ka kuch nahi ho sakta." Cabir rolled his eyes

"Toh fine Manik before I come back from my friend's house you should pluck 10 coconuts within two hours and I'll assign you the next task in the evening."

Wow within two hours.

Another task in the evening.

This is called real Hitlergiri.

Huh!!

Amms left and all my confidence flew out of the window when I glanced at the coconut tree.

I squatted at the green grass with my head hung low.

"Kyu bada fire examination dene wala tha Kya hua us josh ko?" Cabir mocked

"Shut up Cabir. Let me think." I gritted

"Manik we all are there for you. We can call any professional and complete it soon." Abhimanyu suggested

"No Abhimanyu I will do this on my own."

"Are you sure Manik?" Nandini squatted  opposite to me and chinned me up.

"You trust me?"

"Of course I do."

"So don't worry I'll definitely do this."

She bobbed her head.

So my second task began.I literally went through all videos on YouTube and understood the process.

Now it was show time.

I got into the  foot strap which was a loop made of jute and started climbing the tree.While I was midway my hand slipped and I fell straight into the safety net earning a "Haww" from my spectators which included my love and my friends.

Once again I started and after three trials I reached the top. Nandini and the whole gang cheered up for me as if I won the world cup.

With ease I plucked the coconuts and threw them in the basket lying under the tree. Of course I couldn't take the risk of climbing along with the basket.

Once done I began descending. All of a sudden the foot strap lossened and the loop opened.

Shit!!!

"Manik are you okay?" Nandini screamed

"Yeah I'm but now how would I get down?" I looked down and the height scared me literally.

"Manik you gotta jump." Abhi shouted

"What ? Are you serious?"

"Yup I'm. No option left and rather there's less time too."

I nodded and braced myself for the high jump.

Everyone looked up at me with a worried face but I mouthed them all is well.

Taking Nandini's Aiyappa's name I let go my hands off the tree and went down down down until I landed upon the safety net.

Everyone heaved a sigh of relief and of course a wave of cheers filled up the garden.

I completed the task exactly within two hours. Amms came and was amazed to see me completing the task without anyone's help.

Yes she had witnessed my jump and thankfully this time she was happy to see me win but she put up a hard face as soon as I looked at her.

We went for breakfast and had one glass of fresh coconut water.

It was evening when we all gathered in the living area. Amms was yet to come.

"Ab dekhte hai kya task milta hai." Cabir sighed.

"Hope yeh dangerous na ho." Alya expressed her worry

"Nahi hoga " Dhruv pacified her

"Guys be positive" Nandini smiled

"So Manik ready ho next task ke liye."

"Yes Amms." I sounded little dull

"Thik hai aaj raat tak mere do store rooms clean ho jane chahiye."

"What? cleaning a store room?" I asked and everyone laughed.

I glared at everyone and all of them suppressed their laughs.

"Yes easy right?"

"Hmm." I pretended

Manik and cleaning a store room?

I haven't even touched a broom in my life. What would I gonna do I wondered.
