Blue Spider Liles and the Red Rose
At this time of the night, the campfire had long since died down leaving only glowing embers in the burm up woods to fend off in to the darkness of the vast grasslands.
Rimuru Tempest sat a short distance away of campfire where the other two were asleep.
Rudeus resting his body on the glass land with only the Superficial fire and his robe to shelter him from the cold whisper wind of the night.
While right next to him was Rory leaning casually against the tree that she had claimed earlier, although Rory eyes as closed á it can be but far asleep she is. Not when Rimuru humanoid form illuminated faintly by the silvery light of the moon.
Rimuru held up his hand, summoning a faint dark energy took the form of a black flame that like it was trying to consume the very fabric of reality itself, know as one of Rimuru 4 ultimate skill [Gluttonous King Beelzebub]
The familiar, comforting feeling of his ultimate skills—the sheer power that had once flowed effortlessly through him—now felt distant and chaotic, like a river too wild to control.
“[Beelzebub], huh…” Rimuru murmured, watching as the energy flickered in and out, refusing to obey him as it once had. It sputtered, unstable, before fading entirely. “[Uriel]… and even [Raphael] too…”
He shook his head in a helpless way then said in a joking manner at his ironic situation. “look like someone getting weaker, eh...?”
His mind reached out instinctively to Raphael, the consciousness that had been his guide and constant companion. But even [Raphael] presence felt muted, its usual calm, guiding voice now absent from Rimuru mind. It was still there, but faintly
Trying to manage his unstable abilities, but the connection between them was fractured, much like his soul as not only weaken but also unstable.
“Guess I can't rely on [Raphael] this time...” Rimuru whispered. “atlest not as much as I use too.”
Then suddenly a soft chuckle broke the silence, and with snap Rimuru turned around only to find Rory Mercury well awake and sitting perched on a low branch of the tree, her Crimson eyes glowing faintly in the dark night as she stared down at him like a predator who had lock on to their prey.
It was clear She had been watch and listen to Rimuru and his problem the entire time. As she speak up with a humorous voice “You’re awfully noisy for someone trying to keep secrets,” Rory said, swinging her legs idly on the air.
Rimuru let out a soft sigh as he stand up and turn fully and face to face with Rory. “You don’t sleep much, do you?”
Rory grinned. “An Apostle of Emroy doesn’t need much sleep. Death is my domain, after all. And besides…”
She tilted her head, her smile fading into something more contemplative. “You’re more interesting than dreams I have tonight, Rimuru.”
Rimuru chuckled bitterly. “Interesting, huh? Is it the broken soul thing again?” though already know the answer but Rimuru ask with a wondering voice
hopping down from the branch, Rory landing gracefully a few feet away from him. Though her halberd rested against the tree right next to her, but she didn’t make any attempt on reach for it. “Partly" she said, admitted some some truths in Rimuru words.
"But that not the Interesting point of you, slime boy~." Rory added, walking around Rimuru and eyeing up and down like he some extinct species that just got brought back.
Then she stop infront of Rimuru face while pointing straight at his chest "you’re fighting against it ain't you?"
“I don’t have much of a choice,” Rimuru said, hands in both pockets.
“There are too many people counting on me.” mumbling eyes glare down at the grown, mind racing from worry about his family back at home
Giggle clearly amused from Rimuru answer, Rory spoken again "Most people with that much of their soul shattered would’ve crumbled by now. Yet here you are, trying to hold everything together with resin, string and stubbornness.”
Rory crouched down beside him, her crimson eyes studying him closely and a grin that can kill any mortal. “That is what make me interested in you slime boy. Yet, here you are... whipping the pain and sorrow of once past life.”
Glanced at Rory, Rimuru golden eyes reflecting the moonlight as it Stare right at those gem like eyes of her.
“Are you saying I’m tragic?” he ask with a tired yet playful voice
Rory smirked then replied. “Maybe a little. But you’re also fascinating non the less. A slime pretending to be human, wielding godlike powers that are falling apart. Most apostles would find that kind of determination worthy of respect.”
“Coming from someone like you, I’ll take that as a compliment,” Rimuru said, smiling faintly.
As time pass they continue to standard in silence for a while as the wind rustling the grass around them. Finally, Rory spoke again broken the silence, her tone a bit softer this time.
“You know, broken things can still be useful,” she said, almost thoughtfully.
“A shattered soul doesn’t mean you’re done for. It just means you have to figure out how to use the pieces in a different way.”
Rimuru blinked, quite surprised by the sudden wisdom in her words. “That’s… surprisingly insightful coming from you.”
Rory grinned, her playful demeanor return with the smirk on her face. “Don’t get used to it. I’m more interested in smashing things than fixing them.”
“yeah I can tell.” Rimuru said then laughed softly, while remembering a certain someone who similar to Rory more of a trouble maker then a healer.
As the night deepened, the two shared a quiet understanding. Though they were vastly different—one a demi-god Apostle and the other a fractured slime—they found a strange comfort in each other’s presence. The journey ahead was uncertain, but for now, they had the stars, the silence, and an unspoken camaraderie that required no words.
