Fun or Fight? (Tenkai)

~Elina's POV~

"You're what now?" I asked Gen over the communicator.

"I know. Don't give me that look." He said annoyed.

"Well then, have fun and all that stuff."

"I can safely say that it's not going to happen."

"I figured. Why the sudden notice anyway?"

"He said he wants Guren to lay off from his pressure of being leader."

"That's nice."

"Yeah, but why do i have to play volley with them to do it?"

"If you like, i could go there to see how you're gonna do."

"That would be a lot better than being annoyed by people i don't normally talk to."

"Alright. See ya later then."

I met up with Gen and the others at the beach. I laughed a lot when Chooki explained to me what's happening. Gen just gave me the "I am annoyed" face.

"Ok. Game on." Said Chooki.

"How about you? Having fun Gen?" Asked Guren.

"Oh yeah, you know i am. Loving it." Gen replied sarcastically.

"Get out in the sun much dude?" Asked Ceylan. I just shook my head smiling.

I was wearing a purple tank top and blue shorts. My hair was untied and i wore a headband instead. I sat on a bench with sunglasses on and just watched the game. In the end, they won the game.

"Had fun?" I asked Gen as he sat down on the bench beside me.

"Actually, i kinda did." Gen replied.

"Figures. It's been a while since i saw you play like that. I think you can beat even Chooki soon."

"HEY! I HEARD THAT!" Chooki yelled. Gen and i exchanged glances and laughed.

Then, it's BBQ time. The guys decided to race and i joined in. We raced through the water and head for the big rock near by.

~Gen's POV~

"Sometimes, i wonder how you can put up with those three." I asked.

"Come on. They're great. You saying that is like me saying how can you put up with Elina." Guren replied. Well he made a point.

"They're ok i suppose. And so is she."

"I thought you're friends."

"We are, but we still have a few problems with each other. Either that or..."

"Or what?"

"... Nothing." I can't tell him or anyone else about this.

"Come on Gen. You think i didn't hear what she said back at the Dojo?"

"W-what?! You heard that?"

"Well yeah. The others didn't but i sure did."

"Oh." Damn it.

"Why hold back? It's clear enough that you both like each other."

"... Reasons."

"Of course it is."

"Back to you." I said, partially desperate to change the subject. "What about your friends?"

"Well... I wish i can be more like them."

"Are you kidding? Seriously?"

"Well at least they're steady, you know. They don't let things get to them."

"Really?"

"It's just that, they can handle the pressure a lot better than i can."

"Oh yeah? And what makes you think that? The fact that you can't shape shift to Titan Mode?" He nodded. "I see." I threw the ball up and slam it down. Guren blocked quite easily.

"Maybe the problem is that you haven't been under enough pressure to go Titan. Ever think of that?" I asked him. "Maybe you haven't needed to."

"That's just what Mr. White said." He replied. "Hey Gen, what don't you fight with us? We could really use you."

"I'll say, that's the understatement of the year." I replied.

"Well then..." He said.

I turned around. "I've got my own path to follow, but that doesn't mean that were not still friends." He brighten up after that.

I looked over at Elina. "Hey Elina!"

"What?" She replied.

"We're going!"

"What?! Already? Can't we stay a little bit longer!"

"No."

"Dagnabbit!" She got off the rock and we head to we head back. Hopefully she'll stop bothering me with her whining.

~Elina's POV~

"I WAS ALREADY HAVING SO MUCH FUN! Why did we have to leave?"

"Reasons." Gen replied.

"Man, you're not as fun as you use to be."

"People change over time. You need to learn to respect that."

"Yeah yeah. Whatever." I said pouting.

Then our core bricks started glowing. We head straight to Quarton, and just when we got there, we saw Bravenwolf and the others about to get hit by Eurus. We block his shot quite easily.

"Dromus! Syrenica! Man, am i glad to see you." Said Bravenwolf.

"You said you could use me, and boy were you right." Said Gen.

"I never liked missing the fun." I said.

Then, when Eurus lunged at us, Dromus jumped onto his back. Eurus spun around and Dromus was thrown of his back. Then Eurus blasted at him and he fell. "Guess i picked a bad day to be team player." Dromus said.

"You alright Dromus?" I asked.

"Yeah sure... Peachy." He replied.

"Ok, my turn." I jumped and aimed my new and improved katana saber at him and did a sonic slash. He bounced it off and blasted me. "GODDAMNIT THAT HURT!" I yelled at him.

"We figured." Said Dromus sarcastically.

Eurus then took his aim and blasted again. Just then, Bravenwolf FINALLY managed to shape shift to Titan Mode and saved us.

"Man, am i glad for that." I said. Gen and i are now back at the park.

"How does it feel like? Getting your butt kicked for the first time?" Gen said nudging me.

"It was not my first time. And i sure hope it'll be the last." I replied pushing him. Then Guren showed up.

"Hey you two." He said. "Thanks man."

"No problem dude." Said Gen. They fist-bumped and i just smile. It's about time he made more friends.

"You sure you don't want to play full time?" Asked Guren.

"Don't start that again." Gen replied.

"Oh come on. It's not like you have to pay us with anything." Said Guren.

"True, but he gets annoyed easily." I said to Guren. Then i whispered, "Heck, i think he's a boy possessed by his own inner lonely demon." Guren laughed at that while at the same time sweat dropping.

"You do realize i heard that right?" Said Gen annoyed.

"See. I told you he gets annoyed easily." I said to Guren. He just shrugged and left.

"Well it's not like you don't." Said Gen after that. "The last time your brother patted your head, you sent him to the emergency room!"

"That was because i need my personal space."

"At least i have friends to back me up!"

"Yeah? Well where are they now?" Then i instantly cover my mouth. He was taken off guard by that too.

"S-sorry. I-I didn't mean to say that!" I said quickly.

"I-it's alright." Gen said looking away.

Shit, i hate myself. After that, it was totally silent so we just went home.

"Hey there sis. Want something to eat? I bet you're starved!" My brother said.

"Uh... Hey Eric. Not really. I'll be upstairs if you need me." And then i locked myself up in my room.

"Stupid, stupid, STUPID!" I scold myself. "You f4¢king IDIOT! You know he doesn't have friends! So stupid like what the hell!" I kept pacing around my room. "You fool! You messed it up! Now he's gonna hate you! Nice going Elina!" I fell on my bed and covered myself with my blanket.

"I HATE THIS!!!" i screamed. Then Eric knocked on the door so i opened the it and went back under the blanket.

"Hey you ok sis? I kept hearing you scream curses at yourself." He said.

"No i'm not fine. So can you please leave?" I replied.

"Oh come on, i'm your bro. You can trust me. I'll help you anyway i can!"

I peeked out and smiled a bit. "Thanks."

"No prob. So, what's it about?"

"I had a fight with Gen... Again."

"Gen? Gen Inukai? Auburn hair? Crimson eyes? Total emo kid? Great at basketball and chess?"

"Yes, yes, yes, yes,yes and yes."

"Ouch. Gotta be though since he's like your best friend in the world."

"I know, i know! You're not helping! This is just making me feel worse!"

"Hey, you like Gen right?"

"Yeah..."

"Ever thought that he likes you as well?"

"Um... No?"

"Well he does."

"He does not."

"He does. Trust me. In fact, he told me a few weeks ago. I didn't tell you because i thought you already knew."

"He's a good actor."

"And just yesterday you said he was a terrible one."

"...."

"Whatever. The point is, if Gen really is your friend, if he really likes you, then i'm sure he wouldn't be mad at you."

"You think so?"

"I know so. Trust me. Things will work out if you both just talk."

"Thanks bro. For once, you're actually acting like your a collage student."

"Only when i need to. The rest of the time i prefer to goof off. It'll make you feel young."

"I figured."

"So, let's drop that one for now. What say we eat and talk about Quarton?"

"Uh yeah- wait what?"

"I know everything sis. I've been watching you fight after all. You're doing a good job."

"But how do you-"

"Boreas gave me a core brick the same tine he gave Erica one. We were both Tenkai Knights, until she died. I stopped and when i found out you were one, i decided to watch until you need me. I have to be responsible after all."

"Thanks." I said smiling. It's good to have him as a brother.
