Barbeque Day (Tenkai)

~Elina's POV~

I don't know what happened, but after that bright light, i found my self back on Earth. "What happened?" I asked myself.

"I wish i could answer that." Gen said, startling me.

"Geez, Gen. Stop doing that!" I said.

"Sorry. Come on, i have a feeling that they're either on Quarton or back here."

"Or maybe neither." I said. "I heard a voice saying something about a portal to the 'Beast World'. Does it ring a bell?"

"No. But if they are there, we would just have to wait until they return. And by they, i meant including Beni." He said.

"Why?"

"Because she owns something the Knights need." He said.

"You don't mean... *gasp* NO WAY! She has that?!"

"I found out a while back. We should wait by her apartment and ask her as soon as possible."

"Alright, i guess we have no choice."

The next day, we went to Beni's place and after waiting for about an hour, she walked out of her building. "Well? Are you lost?" She asked.

"No, i know where i am. Do you know where you are?" Asked Gen. This is getting confusing and it's only been the first 15 seconds...

"I can see this is gonna be fun." She replied.

"Alright, let's save time here Beni. Tell me what you're up to?"

"You always paranoid or is it just in the morning?" Said Beni sarcastically. "Why do you always assume i'm up to something?"

"Because you're you. You remember what i told you before, right?" Said Gen, narrowing his eyes. "Mess with the Tenkai Knights and you'll have to deal with me."

"Thanks for the warning. Now if you'll excuse me..." Beni walked away. "I was right! You are lost!"

"This is getting messy." I said. "Beni's like a sister to me, only a lot more active. I get that she wants to be a lone wolf but why doesn't she just... You know..." Gen just narrowed his eyes even more.

The next day, Guren invited us to have a BBQ with them so I dragged Gen along for the ride.

"I never signed up for this." He said.

"You never had to." I replied. We're both by the river with Guren and Ceylan and Mr. White. Toxsa and Chooki aren't here yet though. Then Mr. White mentioned that he invited our training master which is a bit too ironic for us so we just kept our mouth shut.

Then Ceylan dashed off to look for Toxsa but then Guren got a call from him saying that he was forced to work at Wakamei's along with Toxsa. And Mr. White told us that Chooki's gone fishing we could scratch his name off the list.

"What reliable friends you have." Gen said sarcastically.

The Mr. White set things up and started bragging about a BBQ master of some sort. "There's absolutely no such thing as one... You just made that up."

"I could have said that it was one of the lesser known marshal arts but... I hate to have to lie." Said Gen.

Then when Mr. White said he forgot the sauce i anime-fell and said, "What kind of a so called BBQ master are you? How could you forget the sauce?"

"Cause he's only third degree..." Gen said.

"You know everything, don't you?" Guren said awkwardly.

"Pretty much yes." Said Gen with (AS USUAL) no emotion at all. Why am i surprised? Oh wait, i'm not. After that, Guren was sent to get the sauce from the shop.

"Oh brother." I said face palming. "This BBQ is turning into a pain on my back."

"You can say that again." Said Gen.

After waiting for what seems like ages, Guren finally came back. And it turns out... HE BROUGHT BENI?!

"What's cooking?" Said Beni.

"I just happened to run into her. Totally by chance." Said Guren.

"Yeah right." Said Gen, glaring at her.

Oh boy. This will be even more of a pain to handle. Then, while we get drinks, Beni and Gen started to have that chat again.

"This is starting to scare me." I said, barely audible for anyone to hear. Well at least Guren stopped them.

Then, just when i thought we were gonna eat, it started raining so we took shelter under a tree. "I just hope this doesn't become a storm." I said.

"Yeah." Said Guren. Then Mr. White asked Guren why he decided this and he started explaining about him, not being able to see his dad much.

"I know what you mean." I said. "My dad hasn't been around much either. Every night he called and said that he's coming home, the next day he got called away again so i had to wait another month. It's a pain since i don't see my mom much either."

"Why is that anyway?" Asked Guren. "All i ever heard about was you hanging with your brother. You mentioned your sister was dead, no offense, you just mentioned about your dad, so what about your mom?"

"She's sick so she's at the hospital." I said shrugging. And so far, we don't have enough money for her treatment, so i understand if my dad doesn't have time for me."

"So that's where you disappeared to every week." Said Gen.

"Yeah. I miss my mom a lot." I said smiling sheepishly. "But i don't mind, at least i have friends. Like you Guren, you too Beni. And of course you Gen, since you're my BFF in the whole world." Then i added quietly, "And my boy friend."

"What?" Guren asked.

"NOTHING!" i said quickly.

The Beni wanted to go but when Guren tried to hold her back, an emblem glowed on his hand and Beni's necklace glowed.

Soon, Gen went off to find Beni and i just stayed put since i hate storms. Soon, our core bricks glowed so we head to Quarton. Gen, or should i say Dromus, joined us soon enough and we had to fight of Slyger and Granox.

But then Vanetta glued Bravenwolf and the Corekai to the ground, so that just left me and Dromus. "Dirty tricks." Gen said.

"That's all that's bothering you?" I sweat dropped as the Corekai sung a song to 'encourage' us to fight.

"Why are you doing this Vanetta?" Asked Guren.

"To prove Gen and Elina how useless friends are." She replied.

"Wrong Vanetta. You are so wrong!" Said Gen. "Dromus Tenkai Whirlwind engage!" Then he transformed to elemental mode.

"Whoa..." I said. "How did he do that?"

Then Dromus used his new powers to defeat Granox and Slyger.

"Nice job Dromus." I said. "How do i do that?"

"To be honest... I have no idea." I anime-fell.

"Well, at least i know that you're gonna be part of the team sooner or later." I sighed.

Then i saw a blast coming through so i blocked it. "Nice reflexes Syrenica." A voice said.

"Who's there?!" I said.

"Hey, you don't have to shout. It's me kid." Ok NOW i know that voice. "Eric?"

"Nice guess. But here, I'm called Phantero!" He jumped out from behind a rock. "I've been watching you guys. Nice work in defending the fortress."

"T-thank you sir!" Said Beag.

"You... Know each other?" Asked Guren.

"Phantero was a Knight, but after Syrenica disappeared, he disappeared as well." Said Beag. "It is good to see you again Phantero!"

"Same to you Beag." Phantero replied.

"Ok, i get all that but why blast me?" I asked.

"Oh uh... Yeah... That blast. Not me." Then an army of the Corrupted .

"Bro. We are going to have a serious talk after this." I said.

Then the army started shooting at us and Vanetta glued both Dromus and Phantero. She wasn't able to blast me since i kept dodging it.

"You need to do a lot lore than that Vanetta!" I said while fighting the Corrupted.

"Whatever. But even you can't handle that big of an army. So my job here is done." She replied.

As much as i hate to say it, she's right. My Tenkai Energy is starting to sink like a stone and i can only hold then back for a bit longer. "This is annoying!" I said to myself.

Then, one of then charged and blasted at Dromus. He saw the blast but he can't move. "Gosh, this is going to hurt..."

I am officially pissed. "Stay away from him!" Then i raised my power and turned Elemental. "Syrenica Tenkai Galaxy engage!"

My armor become a brighter shade of purple and my silver outlining turned to violet while the gold stay as it was. I also have a comet emblem on my chess and it glowed as i summoned my power.

"Neptune Submarine Reflector!" I used my saber to deflected the blast.

"Ok... We'll call it even." Said Dromus.

"Fine with me." I said shrugging. Then i faced the rest. "Saturn Ring of Destruction!" Then i send all the Corrupted away and cut the others free.

"You guys alright?" I asked.

"Fine, but a little bit stiff." Said Bravenwolf.

"Nice job sis." Said Phantero. Then he looked at the Corekai. "Beag, take care of the Corekai. I won't be coming back as much as i use to."

"B-but why sir?" Asked Beag.

"I have my own duties back on Earth. And besides, Quarton is in good hands." He replied. "Take care sis. You too Bravenwolf. Oh and Dromus,"

"Yeah?"

"Make sure Syrenica doesn't get herself into a mess got it? I won't always be around to watch her."

"Sure thing." Dromus replied.

"Oh come on!" I said. "Am i really that bad- alright you have a point." I said giving in.

"Let's go back to Earth." Said Bravenwolf.

When we did, we saw Ceylan, Toxsa and Chooki waiting for us. Guren went down but since Gen didn't want to go, i stayed with him.

"You feeling shy?"

"Gah! Geez Beni, don't do that!"

"Sorry Elina. I'm just in a bit of a mood to play around." Then she looked at Gen. "I thought you and those goof balls are best friends forever now. So why aren't you down there with them? Starting to have second thoughts?"

"No." Gen replied. "Nothing like that. I'm gonna join them in a minute."

"Whatever." Said Beni. "If you really want to give up your freedom entirely, go ahead."

"Actually, i was hoping you'd show up." I said. "Beni, want to come down with us? We're having a barbeque. I would say i promise it won't turn out like before, but like you said, we can't control the weather." I said sheepishly. Then Beni started to act like she doesn't care so we just shrugged and left. "Just trying to be friendly Beni." I said waving.

"Oh hey Gen, hey Elina." Said Chooki.

"Finally." Said Guren. "Hurry up!"

"Come and get it." Said Toxsa.

"Come on." Said Ceylan.

We exchange glances. "I got dips!" I said running down.

"Not if i'm there first!" Gen called after me. We went down & joined the others. It's too bad Beni didn't though.
