Broken

She kissed me passionately, but it was more than just passion that lingered on the kiss, but also love. Suddenly a burst of light flashed around us and I pulled away quickly. "What the hell was that?" I asked Regina worriedly. "That, is true loves kiss. You broke the curse!" She said happily. I looked at her confused then laughed remembering what she had woken up to tell me just a few nights before. "Oh, right, I forgot. The whole fairytale thing." I said and Regina frowned. She got up and walked over to her dresser and pulled out a huge leather bound book with gold trim and lettering. "If you don't believe me, then read this." She said tossing the book into my lap. "You want me to read a bunch of fairy tales?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "Emma, these aren't just fairytales. But if you don't believe me, then wait until the angry mob of people come after me because of all the people I killed back into the enchanted forest." She said. I looked at her oddly before finally deciding to open the book. I flipped through the pages and stared at the pictures, only making me more confused. The illustrations looked exactly like the people in Storybrooke. Ruby looked like little red riding hood, Gold looked like Rumplestiltskin, Regina... Sure enough Regina looked exactly like the Evil Queen, except her hair was longer, she was angrier, her dresses were more low cut, which I quite enjoyed, but they had the same features, even down to the lip scar. "Wow, this is crazy! Who ever drew them made them look exactly like you." I said. "That's because the people in the stories are us Emma, keep looking, you will believe soon enough." I flipped a few more pages to a picture of Snow White and Prince Charming. I didn't recognize Prince Charming, but Snow White looked exactly like Mary Margret with longer hair. It was getting weirder and weirder and I closed the book, still not believing it. Regina sighed. "You don't believe me do you?" Regina asked and I shook my head. She took the book from me and flipped to one of the last pages. "Rumplestiltskin, Rumplestiltskin! I hav a question to ask you." The guard yelled as he walked closer and closer to the imprisoned wizard. "No you don't, they do, Snow White and Prince Charming." He said giddily. The prince and his new wife removed their hoods." Regina read and looked up at me. "Moving on... 'The only one who can save us is that thing growing inside your belly' the imp said reaching out to touch Snow White's ever growing stomach. Prince Charming pulled out his sword and made a small cut into the creepy mans wrist 'next time I cut it off.' He said angrily 'come on let's get out of here, we got what we need' Charming ordered Snow. They turned around and began walking. 'Hey, hey, we had a deal, I want her name! I want her name!' Rumplestiltskin called after them. The two of them stopped and turned around to face the caged man. 'It's a boy.' Charming answered and attempted to leave but Snow didn't move. 'Missy, missy, you know I'm right... What is her name?' Rumplestiltskin asked one more time. 'Emma, her name is Emma.'" Regina looked back up at me, and I had to say I was a bit surprised but still didn't believe it. "Alright, if that doesn't make you believe, then maybe this will." Regina said flipping to the very last page of the book. What I saw caused my jaw to drop and my heart to flip. On the page was a picture of a baby, wrapped in the same blanket I had as a child, the same blanket Mary Margret had found. I ran my fingers over the drawing, not believing that this, was in fact true. "The blanket..." I whispered quietly and snapped my head back up to look at Regina. "Now do you believe me?" She asked with a smile. My eyes were still wide with shock. "I... I believe that it's real, but it's so much to take in. So you really are the Evil Queen?" I asked and Regina nodded. "So the other night when you said you knew who my parents were, you really did know them. Prince Charming and Snow White are actually my parents?" I asked. "Yes dear, and I have a feeling your mother is looking for you." She said with a smile.

"Someday, you will have more family than you know what to do with."

Regina's words rang through my head. I never thought it would be true but it is. In only a few days, I've found a girlfriend who loves me, friends who care about me, and now a baby and parents. It was all way more than I could have ever asked for.

Just then there was a loud banging on the door and yelling from outside. "Open up, open up!" Regina got up and looked out her bedroom window seeing, as predicted, an extremely angry mob. "Great and now the warriors have shown up to protect everyone from my wrath." Regina said sarcastically. "Regina, you've changed, a lot from what little of the book I've seen. You've shown me you've changed, my mom knows you've changed." I said the use of the word mom feeling odd on my tongue. "Now you have to show everyone else that you've changed." I added. She kissed me quickly before grabbing my hand and pulling me downstairs. She dropped my hand once we were right in front of the door.

Regina took a deep breath and opened the door, the angry mob trying to barge in immediately but I stopped them by standing in the doorway. "Whoa, guys calm down." I said. "Calm down? Emma do you even know who she is? Do you know what she's done to all of us? To you?" Leroy asked and looked at the mayor with disgust. I sighed. "Yes, I am well aware of who she was. But who she was doesn't matter. She's changed and has become an entirely different person. It's who she is now that matters, not who she was. I'm sure you all have done some bad things too, probably not as bad as her, but that's not the point. The point is, everyone deserves a second chance, no matter who they are or what they have done." I said. I smiled at Regina who smiled back. The mob dropped their weapons and stared at me shocked. "Why are you standing up for her after everything she's done?" Leroy asked. I looked at Regina, making sure it was okay to tell them and she nodded her okay. "I stood up for her because she's changed, she's just been misunderstood just like I'm sure all of you have been at one time in your lives... and I love her, so if you want to hurt me, your going to have to hurt me and my child." I said angrily as I placed my hand on my flat stomach. Everyone looked at me with even more surprise and slowly started to walk away. "Thank you dear." Regina said kissing my forehead. We turned around to go inside. "Emma!" I heard a familiar voice call out. Regina and I both spun around and Saw Mary Margret running over to me, with the blanket I had left at her apartment in her hand, and at her side was someone I never met but I instantly knew that he was my father from the pictures in the book Regina had showed me. I looked at Regina, who was smiling happily and she gestured her head towards my parents, telling me that I should go see them. I ran up to them and stopped right in front of them. Mary Margret had tears in her eyes and she handed me my baby blanket. I took it from her and hugged her gratefully. Her arms wrapped around me and it felt exactly how I dreamed it would. "Emma, look at you, your beautiful!" Mary Margret said holding my face between her hands. "You did it Emma, we are so proud of you." The man said. "But how did you break it? I mean true loves kiss is-" she stopped as I felt strong arms wrap around my stomach. Regina pressed her body against mine and rested her chin on my shoulder. My mom looked at me confused and a bit angry. "She... What? She can't be your true love." Mary Margret said in shock. "She is Mary Mar- Mom. True love is true love." I said and looked at Regina who was grinning like a fool. My parents looked back and fourth between Regina and I still not believing it. "But you're... You're my step mother." Mary Margret said awkwardly. I pulled away from Regina and looked between my mom and Regina. "Sorry what?" I asked surprised. "I was your stepmother Snow, after your father died, you didn't want anything to do with me because of who I had become." Regina said. Mary Margret sighed. "I guess your right. Things are different now, everyone has changed, it's time for a fresh start. What do you say Regina?" Mary Margret asked. I saw Regina's smile grow and Mary Margret extended her hand for her to shake. Regina grabbed it and yanked her into a hug. I giggled, never expecting Regina would act so openly in public. "Hand shakes are just too formal for family dear." Regina said with a laugh. Mary Margret chuckled as she pulled away. "Who would have ever thought you and I would be in the same family with out us trying to kill each other!" Mary Margret laughed sending all of us into a fit of laughter. "Why don't you guys come in for dinner, I was just about to get cooking when that angry mob showed up." Regina said. "Oh yeah, how on earth did you manage that? Did you give them a memory loss potion?" Mary Margret joked as we walked up the stone steps that lead to the front door. "That was all Emma." Regina answered with a smile. Mary Margret looked at me shocked. "How on earth did you manage to do that?" She asked surprised as we all sat on the couches in the living room. "I told them that I loved her and that she had just been misunderstood like everyone has been at some point in their life and that if they still wanted to hurt me, then they would have to hurt me and my kid to get to Regina... Apparently they don't like the idea of killing an unborn child." I chuckled. "You mean you're..." Mary Margret looked down at my flat stomach than back up at me. I had a huge smile on my face and Regina rested her hand on my thigh. I looked at her and smiled, she too had a huge smile on her face. "You're pregnant?" My mom finally finished asking her question. Regina and I nodded happily. Mary Margret stood up and hugged me. "Oh honey, congratulations!" She said excitedly. "Oh, Snow, your just excited to have another baby around to dote on." The tall blonde man joked. "Well I'm going to get dinner started, I'm sure the three of you have a lot of catching up to do." Regina said standing up with a smile before heading to the kitchen to make dinner for all of us. "Okay, first of all, Prince Charming, Dad, what was your name in this world?" I asked. "David, but you can call me whatever you'd like." He said with a smile. "So Emma, why don't you tell us about growing up in this world." My mother said. "Oh... Umm... I don't think you guys would like to know." I said sadly. "Of course we do! We missed you so much, I mean even we didn't remember you, it's still been 18 years." David said. "Well, it was really really rough. I was in and out of foster homes all the time. I never had any real friends or family and it was hard. When I was 14 I ran away, and met a girl named Lilly. We found an abandoned summer home where we lived for a few months until her parents found her.. It was their summer home. I ended up going back into the system until I escaped again when I was 16. I met a guy named Neal while I was trying to steal a car. Turned out he had stolen it before me and was just taking a nap in the back seat. We lived and traveled together, until about a week ago when he wanted my to pick up some watches from a locker at the Portland train station that he had stolen before we had even met. I knew I shouldn't have did it, but I did. The the police were chasing me before I could even get back outside. And I accidentally pushed over a lady who I later found out was Regina. I ran and ran finding a shortcut over a chainlink fence that had an alley on the other side. The watches were to heavy for me to carry, and the officers were getting close, so I dropped them, and jumped off the fence on the other side and ran. At the next street I came to, I turned and I had no idea where I was and I was exhausted from running. By then I decided that I wouldn't go back to Neal. Then, the same lady I had knocked over earlier, was calling me over to her car and when we heard the officers coming, she invited me inside the car and we drove to her hotel where we stayed. I didn't expect it to turn into anything, but the second I got in the car, I felt more comfortable around Regina than I had anyone else in my life. So for the very first time in my life, I shared my stories and feelings with Regina. Two days later was my eighteenth birthday and Regina surprised me by taking me to Disneyland and the day after we came here." I concluded. They stared at me speechless, Mary Margret had a few tears trickling down her cheeks. "Oh Emma, we are so so sorry we put you through that." She said apologetically as she hugged me. "Mom, it's okay. If things hadn't happened like they did, I wouldn't be here right now, with you, with Regina..." I said. My parents smiled at me. "We are so proud of you Emma." My dad said and my smile grew and I blushed not knowing what else to say, Luckily Regina saved me. "Dinners ready." She said with a smile and lead us all to the dining room table that was already set. Every place had a plate and a glass of wine in front of every chair... All of them except for mine of course. We all sat down and served up our plates. "Here's a toast for Emma, for breaking the curse." David said and we all raised out glasses and clinked them together before drinking and eating. Dinner was enjoyable, Regina made a delicious lasagna with baked potatoes and a salad. We enjoyed talking and having fun, just like a real family should. I kept looking at Regina every once in a while, to see that she was just as happy and didn't want to rip my mother's heart out. For the first time in my life, it felt complete. I finally had a family, a family that I never thought I had, complete with amazing parents, the best girlfriend I could ever wish for, and a baby on the way.

Yes

I thought.

This is the perfect little family. My family and we had all come together because of me, because I broke the curse.

The sense of accomplishment was overwhelming and I've never been more proud, happy, and excited for what's to come, than I was in this moment.

Because you broke it. The curse. It's finally Broken.

A/N: well, I didn't expect for this chapter to come so soon, my fingers just kinda typed it all out themselves😂 but I hope you like it. There will only be a few more chapters left, unless any of you guys have any ideas that could fit in with the story.
