Lesson 1

💠The book “Ten Nullifiers of Islâm” was authored by Shaykh Muhammad ibn ’Abdul Wahhâb (may Allâh have mercy on him).

💠One should beware of labeling someone as kâfir without proof, for it has severe repercussions if it is false; if a Muslim calls his or her fellow Muslim a kâfir, the statement will apply to one of them — either, it is true; or it is not true and the one who said it will be the kâfir. Similarly, if a person calls someone a fâsiq and it isn’t true, it will apply to the one who said it.

💠The narrations on calling Muslims kâfir or fâsiq were added to the books and chapters of ’aqeedah by the scholars of Ahl as-Sunnah; words like kâfir, fâsiq, mubtadi’ are not just words but have rulings with them, so beware of using them carelessly and loosely as is becoming common. Most people either go to the extremes or are negligent regarding them.

💠Telling a person Allâh will never forgive you, you won’t go to Jannah, Allâh will put you in Jahannam, and similar statements are also takfeer; and the Muslim should beware and control his tongue. The servant cannot see the future, nor does he know what Allâh will chose to do, and he has no control over whom Allâh will forgive and whom He will punish.

💠It is easy for a person to say a speech that will destroy his dunyâ or âkhirah without him realizing, and such statements can put the one who said it in the fire.

💠Making takfeer of one whose apparent actions are that of a Muslim is doing it without proof of the Sharî’ah; it is against the position of Ahl as-Sunnah and is the path of those who follow bid’ah and misguidance and do not fear Allâh and have no taqwâ.

💠The Qur‘ân and sunnah explain the reality of what Islam is, its pillars, obligations, and what opposes it; they explain îmân and its foundation; and they define ihsân and its pillars. Islâm, îmân, and ihsân are shar’î terms and cannot be defined except through the sharî’ah and what opposes them cannot be explained except through Allâh and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him). Similarly, halâl and harâm must have textual evidence.

💠In some cases, ruling against what Allâh has revealed is major kufr, which has been mentioned by the scholars, but this does not apply to everything. However, the Khawârij believe ruling with something other than what Allâh has revealed is unrestrictedly major kufr, but they are themselves ruling by other than what Allâh has revealed with this view and are making takfeer of what Allâh and the Messenger of Allâh (peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him) did not.

💠Only Allâh and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him) have the right to say something is wâjib or harâm, or that reward comes with such-and-such an action or punishment for such-and-such an action, or to say that this is fisq or this is kufr. Only Allâh and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him) can make something halâl or harâm or connect a reward or punishment to an action. It is upon the people to make halâl and harâm only what Allâh and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him) have clearly said is halâl and harâm.

💠The ideology of takfeer came early in Islâm; it was the first bid’ah that entered Islâm by the Khawârij. They are extreme in takfeer without any textual evidence.

💠The Muslim should away from making takfeer of people based on their sins, mistakes, and shortcomings; for this is the first innovation that came into Islâm; and it is the first step to the bloodshed of the Muslims and the raiding of their wealth.

💠Khawârij groups will keep coming, one after the other, until the last group comes out with the Dajjâl.

💠There is no group that opposes Ahl as-Sunnah except that they make takfeer of one another; all the deviant groups make takfeer of each other. The people of innovation believe in a belief that is misguidance but they see it as the truth and they see those who oppose their belief as kâfir.
