"I wanna be ten feet tall, I wanna eat fire and snow, I wanna scare everyone."

~~~~
After getting to Keith and Shiro's apartment, they had a warm night of hot cocoa and movies, lots of cuddles and soft kisses.
It was only when Lance got home that his night became truly eventful.
Lance's dad stood in his living room, his coat still on and arms crossed, "And where were you?"
Lance crosses his arms, a new found confidence bubbles up in his chest, "I should be asking you the same thing."
His mom comes in, a mug of warm tea in her hands, her face concerned, "Lance... your father came to make amends."
Lance releases the tight grip on his forearms, "Really?" He was genuinely surprised, his eyes wide.
His dad nods, "Yes, I have come to apologize for what I've said and done in the past."
Shock could be the only word to explain Lance's feelings in that moment, "R-Really?" He lets his arms drop down to his sides, tears prick his eyes.
Could his dad actually be a good person?
The older man's arms didn't lose their position, his stance was wide and intimidating, "Yes, but I still am greatly disappointed in you. How can I not be? You disrespected me by ignoring all my teachings and by going around being some fairy fag."
Lance's nails now dig into his thumbs, his mom stiffens, her eyes wide.
"Well, stay disappointed. Because I now have a boyfriend, and not some boy who is a friend. I'm meaning a boyfriend, one I kiss, one I care for, one I trust to accept me for who I am."
Lance's mom speaks up, "You and Keith are dating now?"
Lance nods, his face never leaving his dad's intense glare, "Yes, that's where I was earlier, we cuddled and watched Christmas movies."
His dad's jaw locks, his nails now dig into his forearms, "I can't believe I raised a faggot." He spits, stepping closer to Lance, his face not even a foot away now, "You're officially disowned, I'm no longer your fucking father."
Lance gulps, "Don't worry, I never considered you a dad anyways."
With a huff and more stomping, his sperm donor left, slamming the front door to the point of knocking the keys off the wall.
A shaky breathe leaves Lance's mouth and his legs feel like jello.
'I did it' is all that races through his mind before he is engulfed in a warm hug, his mother shaking slightly, "I'm so sorry, I genuinely thought he was gonna apologize!"
He hugs back, a soft smile on his face, "Mamá, it's fine, I know you didn't know."
He hides his face in her hair, taking a deep breathe to calm his racing heart.
It turns out, you don't have to be ten feet tall to be brave.
The next day, he went out with his friends, and Keith of course, they all went to see Bohemian Rhapsody (Keith cried).
They got frozen yogurt so Shiro could visit Adam at work, Adam's manager wasn't too happy with Adam being distracted but she didn't stop them.
Lance and Keith never let go of each other's hand, they were inseparable, Hunk and Pidge joked about it from time to time, but other than that nobody cared.
Lance was happy, he got to finally be content.
Keith was happy, he had someone by his side, finally having someone to tell him when to stop studying for a career he doesn't even care for.
They still had those bumps to deal with, but for now, they were happy.
They had their makeshift family to fall back on, a family that was accepting, a family that wasn't gonna leave them behind for something materialistic.
They both got what they've been working for, they both have each other.
To still get the person you're meant to love.
Over the years, Pidge and Hunk have learned how to grow to be better friends.
They've learned when to be careful.
They've learned when to shut their mouths, or when to mind their own business.
They both have found something or someone to focus on instead of being hyper focused on friends.
Pidge found a college that let her explore technology, allowed her to open her mind.
Hunk found a girlfriend, Shay, she's a sweet girl who everyone immediately loved. She really helps Hunk with his overwhelming worries.
Both friends have learned through trial and error, both have grown.
To have the friends who care for you.
Keith went to college for astronomy.
That's right, Lance gave him the shove he needed to live the way he wants to.
He's now on his third year at his four year university, he can name every constellation known to man.
Him and Pidge watch alien conspiracy theories religiously now, Lance hates it.
Lance has decided to take psychology, his curiosity took him over after the chat with his dad, he wanted to know why someone would act that way.
He's also learned a lot about himself, it's truly been a spiritual journey for him.
He's on his third year of university, too. Him and Keith have decided to attend the same uni, they now live in an apartment together with a black Labrador named Kosmo (Keith named him).
They were both living the way they feel was meant to be. They're each other's support system, when one is sick the other will give an arm and a leg to make the other feel better. Even if the other person insists that they're completely fine (*cough* Keith *cough cough*)
They were living their truth, they were completely content with their relationship, not rushing anything, but not completely stopping their romance. (Lance sets up plenty of dates, lots of which are extravagant and way too out of their price range...)
Their lives were eventful in their own little ways.
To be the person you're meant to be.
"Mullet! Date time! Let's go!" Lance shouts from their room, a smile on his lips.
Keith groans, "When will you stop using that nickname? I cut my hair three years ago!"
The man wasn't lying, his hair was now short with fades on the side.
A laugh could be heard, "I know, but it was still a funny time, that mullet was hideous."
The shorter boy enters the bedroom, leaning against the door frame, "Whatever, younger you loved it."
Lance blushes lightly, "Younger me didn't understand fashion."
Lance was wearing a simple dark blue dress shirt, top two buttons unbuttoned (of course), with black slacks and a brown belt which was paired with matching shoes.
Keith was wearing a similar outfit, except his sleeved were rolled up and he had a black belt with black shoes.
These were their default fancy date outfits.
"And where are we going today? Olive Garden?" Keith turns to exit the room, deciding to wait by the door.
Lance chuckles, "Oh god no, I will never go there again after you spilt spaghetti all over my pants."
A loud chuckle can be heard, "It was funny, though!"
Lance groans, "Not when your dick gets burned from boiling tomato sauce!"
The taller male makes his way to he door, double checking his pockets before opening the door for Keith, "Ladies first."
With an eye roll, Keith walks through the door and towards the elevator, Lance close behind after locking the door and making sure Kosmo was still on the couch sleeping.
——
They make it to their table, Lance seemed to have went basic and took them to get sushi.
"Yo mama for me and a California roll for my boyfriend, please." The lady smiles and leaves.
"I gotta pee, be right back." Lance practically jumps from his seat, Keith watches in amusement as his boyfriend practically runs to the back, where the bathroom was located.
"What a dweeb." Keith mumbles to himself, a soft smile on his lips.
About five minutes later, Kieth begins to get curious, that is until Lance comes speeding back, "Sorry, some weird guy kept on trying to talk to me while we peed, it was uncomfortable to say the least."
Keith laughs, "No problem."
Their food arrives and Lance watches as Kieth bites into his roll, "What?" The smaller boy says before he starts chewing.
"Nothing, you're just cute." Lance shrugs, continuing to watch Keith.
"Weirdo." Keith jokes before chewing, except he almost chips a tooth when meeting something hard, "What the?" He looks to Lance, who was fidgeting with his fingers as he watches Keith.
"What's wrong?"
Keith takes his napkin, spitting out the hard item from his food before swallowing the rest so he can concentrate, "Something hard was in my roll..." he takes his chopsticks and moves some grossly half-chewed sushi out of the way, "What.... the???" He takes the napkin's sides and wipes down the ring, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion, "There was a ring in my roll..." he looks to give Lance a confused glance but when he goes to, Lance wasn't in his chair, he was on one knee, his hands fidgeting with his pants.
That's when Keith his hyper aware of the people staring, his face heats up, "Lance...?"
Lance takes the cleaned ring and holds it up to Keith, "Keith..."
"Lance..." Keith was now wide-eyed, his heart starts beating quickly.
"Keith... will you do me the honor of marrying me?" Lance has nervous written across his face, hope shined in his eyes.
Keith almost falls out his seat, "O-Oh! We-Well yes! Yes I'd love to marry you!"
Lance's lips break into a grin, the shorter male falls from his chair to hug the taller male, tears threatening to fall, "Y-You said yes..."
"Of course I did, you dingus!"
There were cheers and whistles around them, but all the couple could focus on was each other, they release from the hug and Lance slips the ring onto Keith's finger.
Their date ended shortly after and they ran around town being that engaged couple who doesn't stop talking about their engagement.
Lance sent texts out, spreading the news to friends and family, who all obviously were enthusiastic about it. (Adam sent a picture of Shiro crying)
Both men knew that their future will be nothing less than eventful, they were excited to grow and live side by side till the day one of them dies.
They both slept well that night, a soft smile on both their faces.
