"FIGHT ME, HONEYDEWWW!!!"

It was three in the afternoon and more or less, this wasn't the statement Shoto was expecting to hear when you called him after class today. He was on his way to his room when he felt his phone buzzing on his pockets and him picking it up immediately. "You don't even have a quirk..." Shoto had a confused expression on his face and the way you groaned on the other line scared the male. "I don't caaaare!" you whined as you pouted, laying on your bed.

"What has gotten into you today?" Shoto chuckled opening the door to his room and walking inside, placing his bag down on the side of his table. "I'm not sure..." you admitted, letting out a small sigh as you huddled on your blanket, feeling its warmth wrapping around you like a burrito. "I'm sick..."

"You're sick? Like, fever?" Shoto's tone had a pinch of concern on it which made you slightly smile despite your condition. "Yeah, I also have a cold..." Shoto's eyes widened and his brows furrowed. "Aw, poor thing."

"I am not a thing, honeydew!" You pouted, blowing out a gust of wind through your nostrils. "I want to go out today and buy ice cream... and fight you!" Shoto smirked, laying down on his own bed. "No, you are not going out and no, I am not fighting you. What the hell?" The female grumbled on and on about wanting ice cream and fighting him causing Shoto to stand up and grab his pen and paper, writing shit down.

He walked down the hall to the girl's side and looked for Kyoka's room. He knocked on the door twice before seeing Kyoka's smaller frame opening the door. Shoto handed her the note and started to walk back to his own room to change into some casual clothing. Kyoka's eyes scanned the note and smiled as it read;

Get changed, we're getting (your name) some ice cream.

"Why did you have to bring me along again?" Kyoka smirked as they walked down the sidewalk to your home. Shoto let out a small grunt as he looked away, his hand's grip tightening on the plastic bag containing some medicine and ice cream. "I don't know where she lives and you're like... her childhood best friend, are you not?" Kyoka shrugged in defeat and smiled at the red and white-haired male.

When they were finally at your front door, Kyoka had to literally pull Shoto along because he said it feels like gravity has pinned him down to the Earth. Kyoka was still tugging on his jacket while he froze his feet on the spot. "Shoto... do you want to see her or no? We can just give the ice cream to her parents and go back to UA," Kyoka crossed her arms on her chest, tilting her head and furrowing her brows. "Make a decision, quick!" Shoto took a deep breath as he unfroze himself and walked closer to Kyoka, staying behind her.

Kyoka knocked on the door three times before your mother opened up, gasping in surprise to see your best friend. "Hi, mom!" Kyoka greeted her with a bow. Your mother had allowed Kyoka to call her mom because of your closeness and because she has spent a lot of time with you your whole life. The two of you were clearly inseparable and even with Kyoka studying in UA, she still had time to talk to you like before. "Is (your name) inside?"

"She's in her bedroom. She's been sick the whole day and just complaining about wanting ice cream." Your mother said in a worried tone, her chin resting on her palm and her mouth letting out a small sigh. "She hasn't even eaten lunch yet..." Kyoka looked back at Shoto who had listened the whole time and simultaneously shook their heads, disappointed at you for not taking care of yourself.

"Oh, and who is this young lad with you, Kyoka?" your mother looked at Shoto who, once again, wanted to freeze himself on the spot. "Um, uh- this is... (your name)'s friend... he wanted to give her ice cream!" Kyoka grinned, the awkwardness on her voice was obvious but it seemed like your mother doesn't really know what it meant when someone stutters out an excuse like that. "I see, that's nice. Why don't the two of you come in already?"

When they entered, Shoto looked around the small living room filled with lots of picture frames of your pictures--those from when you were young and up to now. Shoto watched at your smiling figure on the picture and smiled to himself thinking about how pretty you looked. "Loverboy, come here for a moment," Kyoka whisper yelled as Shoto snapped out from his daze, walking directly to the small dining area.

Your mother was preparing a tray with the lunch meal you had skipped hours ago, hoping that they would be able to feed you before giving you ice cream. Shoto carried the tray, the porcelain rattling as Shoto kept his balance. Kyoka described the direction to where your room was but when she was about to follow, she was dragged by your mother to have a small chit chat about the male. This made him feel awkward, a blush grazing on his cheek, so he left without saying anything and made his way to your room.

"Is he (your name)'s soulmate?" your mother whispered inaudibly.

You were awake though and you could hear Kyoka's voice downstairs, completely unaware that the hero was around as well. When the knob twisted, you prepared a pillow and placed yourself on a throwing position. Shoto was not sure how to take it all as a fluffy material was thrown right on his face, causing him to tumble a bit. He was quick to raise the tray to avoid it getting hit and his balance was so perfect that the food and other things didn't fall off of it.

"Ow?" Shoto declared as the pillow finally fell on the floor. Your eyes widened and your lips parted in confusion, a widespread grin following right after. "S-sorry about that, Honeydew. I thought you were Kyoka...?" you hid on one of your pillows as the heterochromatic male pouted, holding the tray in front of him again. "You know, because of that... you're not getting ice cream anymore..."

"Noo! I said I was sorry! We're really going to fight if you don't give me ice cream!"

"Well, how about... I feed you a meal before you eat ice cream?" Shoto gave a small smile, tilting his head as he walked nearer to you, placing the tray on your bedside table. His hands delicately grabbed the bowl, placing it in between his lap when he sat down, snapping the chopsticks in two. "Here, let me feed you." Shoto gestured a small 'ah' as he grabbed food, trapping it in between the chopsticks. This action made you look away for a moment, puffing your cheeks in embarrassment. "I can feed myself, hero..."

"Well, don't you want me to do this then?" Shoto placed the food back but quickly you looked back at him with a red face, shaking your head. "I appreciate it but I feel... shy..." you pouted as you crossed your arms.

"Don't be. I offered to do it, didn't I?"

Your meal consisted of Shoto spitting out how cute you looked when you eat. Next, he then proceeded to give you medicine for your fever and cold, and it felt like you were a little kid again. "Can I have ice cream now?" you asked, your (eye color) irises practically begging to finally have the sweet creamy goodness of (your favorite ice cream flavor). "Well, since you've been a really nice patient. Yes, you can have ice cream," Shoto grabbed the small tub of ice cream and a spoon, handing it over to you.

You gasped in excitement and took the ice cream from him with a goofy smile on your face. "Thanks for this, Honeydew!" The timer on your head started to count down again as Shoto gained his confidence to tell you who he is. When you finally finished half the tub of ice cream, you handed it over to him again in which Shoto placed the tub back on the tray. "That was so good, I feel like I gained weight after eating that!" you exclaimed looking over at his soft gazing eyes. "Do I look fat now?"

"A little chubby but I don't mind."

"Even when I look like this?" you puffed your cheeks and pressed your chin to your neck creating a double chin. "I don't care about your body size... I won't mind. You're pretty no matter what," Shoto says as he chuckles while you let out a laugh. You looked up at the timer that said 1 minute and you felt yourself getting confused. "Are you... alright?" Shoto asked watching as your eyes gazed at nothing above your head. "Y-yeah, just..."

"...it's my timer..."

"What... what about it?" the male was starting to feel his own heart race along with yours as you slowly grasped your blanket, hiding your face behind it. "...it says I have 1 minute before I meet my soulmate..." you admitted looking at Shoto straight in the eye. The silence that filled the room as Shoto bit his lower lip made things heavier for the two of you. The timer was still stuck at 1 minute and you wanted to cry, lots of questions circling in your head.

"(Your name)."

You looked at Shoto with raised brows, trying to hide your red face with your blanket. It was a good thing you were sick too so, he wouldn't know that you were actually blushing over the rushing thoughts your brain had made. "Yes, honeydew?" your eyes left him and hovered themselves on your timer again, the minute becoming seconds. "I don't think I've been honest with you..." Your eyes watched his lips, they are moving but you can't hear a sound.

2 seconds.

"(Your name), I--"

Shoto was cut off by Kyoka opening the door. "Did I interrupt something?" She whispered as she tried to close the door again. Shoto raised his hand to stop Kyoka from moving and the female stood there as he continued what he was going to say. The wind blowing in your room coming from the door was kind of cold but the way your body temperature was rising because of your blush made it feel warm.

4 days left.

"I like you, a lot," Shoto said as he stood up, a blush creeping on his face as he turned around. "We'll be leaving now..." Shoto passed Kyoka at the door and you felt yourself sink on your bed. Kyoka muttered a small apology before saying a get well soon and finally, closing the door. She quickly followed Shoto who was outside, cursing himself for taking so long, feeling his heart tighten as he bit his lower lip holding in his own frustrated tears.

But you were still left there, staring at your timer, your warm tears flowing down your cheek as you were hit by a wave of realization. He is your soulmate. And you were angry at yourself for being so oblivious all this time but most of all, you were confused.

What's taking him so long to introduce himself to you?
