Chapter 31

Nine more dates. I really wished it went like the first one. I wouldn't mind walking home if he would treat me like that.

No questions were shot after Luke brought me home and the twins birthday was around the corner.

I didn't realize until then how aloof I was. I didn't even know how they were celebrating. First one without our families.

We used to have those typical birthdays giving presents and having a group dinner. Inside gifts among us were the fun part. One time Abby gave Luke a lace panties. Those were fun nights where we couldn't get caught by our parents. Having our own world.

I strolled through the living room, plopping on the couch next to Luke and placed my head on his shoulders.

"Had a good night?", he asked without turning his head from TV. Mean girls was running for the thousandth time and he was the only one who could watch it.

"You could say that",I sighed in lack of my sleep. "Thanks for the ride yesterday". Luke turned towards me throwing a small smile and turned back to the TV.

I got up scrolling through kitchen for water. Matt and Abby were passed out and it made sense Sunday's were meant to be slept.

Suddenly, Luke spoke from the living room. "Make me something to eat",he said it like a command.

"No." I retorted simply.

"Em, if you are really thankful for yesterday, you better fill me up or else I'm telling others", he said striking nail in the head. No arguments as I went in for egg scrambles for the time being.

I settled the plates infront of him. Seeing him reach for the plate invoked a particular memory. I quickly pulled the plate away and glared at him.

"What's that for?", he asked trying to reach for the plate. I stood up with the plate.

Before he could continue, I held the fork. "Wait a minute. You left me alone".

By the look of it he understood when. "Connor told he would pick you. Why come between lovers?", he said smugly.

I held the fork closer to him shaking in anger. "Do.Not.Do.That.Again", I gritted through my teeth intending to get my message through his skull.

"Don't do what again?", Abby asked rubbing her eyes and sat next to Luke taking the plate from me.

"I let Connor alone with Em", he said confiding in her.

"Trouble in the paradise", Abby asked me raising her eyebrows.

I've never felt this angry or not atleast to my friends as I threw the fork across the living room. Abby threw some comment again about how I was upset with Connor and I snapped.

"Unlike you, some have to gain trust before giving their body". Luke and Abby were still stock and I rushed to my room before consumed me.

I was wrong, very wrong. I never should've steered my anger towards when I was actually preventing her from getting hurt.

Abby was sobbing, her bottom lips bushed. She's a drama queen so there had to be a drama.

She turned away from me as I sat at the edge of the bed, not knowing what to say.

"I am sincere with Dustin", she broke the awkward silence by piercing a knife through my chest. She admitted falling for Dustin and that was the one thing I never wanted to happen.

"I know. I am sorry. I was just angry and you happened to be there", I said defeatedly.

"It's okay. You didn't know I am serious with Dustin", she said with a small smile. But was he with her?

"You are not mad?", I asked her raising my eyebrows and looking at my alien of a friend.

She hit my shoulder playfully , scooted over and rested her head on my shoulder. "That was the first I've seen you angry. I know I pushed some button", she said.

"So how's it with Dustin?", I asked nervously.

She blushed at the thought and it was trouble. The deep she went into the relationship, the more she was going to get hurt.

"Dustin makes me happy more than I thought. He is appreciative and attentive. He loves taking care of me and treats me like a princess. He's everything I had asked for and his kisses, damn".

My stomach churned at her reply. She was dipshit crazy for him and being Ryder's friend he was playing with her feelings.

She was looking at me expectantly as I smiled half heartedly.

After a little more consoling and sweet words I was back in my room. I've never asked for such a worst weekend.

But one thing was clear after taking to Abby. I had to break them up apart.

It would rather be me indirectly hurting her than Dustin stabbing her with betrayal. It could happen any moment. I had to be careful to delete the video.

So I took upon the mission break up for now. I had a plan but I wasn't sure of the success.

Considering the amount of attention Dustin was getting I had to make look like he was sleeping with other girls too. That could be true but Abby wouldn't know. As tough as she seemed, she was naive.

The following week Ralph showed up and I was ecstatic. I ran to him and hug him tears flowing. I knew how much I missed him and his witty comments.

Ryder was no where to be seen. Actually I didn't see him after da.. Saturday. Pure bliss.

I had my control and I was put for customer service. Tips were good without flirting and Luke was making a good show with Chris, who haven't moved on from Luke.

If Luke were into boys, he was the best choice. But he was into Laura or Flora, I didn't remember. Another point I completely missed being aloof.

Abby was restraining herself from going over to Dustin because of me. She understood that I was in bad position and kept her distance from him.

Dustin sat with his gang and glanced once every two minutes while I sat glaring at him. I was going to destroy their relationship.
