The address Ryder asked me to came was a funky restaurant. Bikers and smoke, not to mention the half hung name board. "Familiar's". 

The restaurant was out of no where. I had to travel an hour outside the city skirt here. If this was what it was outside, I didn't want to think what's inside. I wasn't even surprised that Ryder brought me here but I didn't estimate the distance.

The cool breeze brushed past me as I stood outside the doors hugging myself. My thoughts were all some how related to killing Ryder at the moment. He was supposed to be there before an hour. If bailing on me was his technique to break me, he was clearly mistaken. 

Ten minutes passed. Every guy passing me inside approached me for company which pissed me off to the point. I called for Uber and waited.

A sleek blue BMW pulled through the parking lot. Mr. Devil graced me with his presence along with my Uber drive. 

I walked to him eying him up and down. "You're late".

He smiled proudly. "Yeah". 

I brushed past him bumping his shoulders with mine. 

"Where are you going?", he asked behind me. 

"Home", I said without turning around. He walked around me and bent to my eye level.

"And why's that?"

"You are late and not my problem", I said a little arrogantly looking away from him. My Uber driver was already blasting my phone and I waved at him to wait for me.

"The video comes out and not my problem", he said mimicking me. 

"Why are you even doing it? I said I'll stay away", I said anger laced in my tone. 

"No fun. I'll be heading inside", he retraced his steps walking all elegant swing his keys in his hands. 

The Uber Driver was beyond pissed when I bailed out. I had to give him some monetary compensation to prevent me from getting roasted. But I could relate to him, coming all way here where there was not even a proper road only to be bailed. I would be irate too.

Time 8:29, no order, no words, not even a drink. He sat there scrolling through his phone. 

8:30, I stopped the girl waitressing around. "Hi, I want to order", I said curtly. She looked at me annoyed and then turned around to look at the handsome flesh with me. She stood in front of him pressing her boobs in to his face. She dragged those long nails along his shoulder and he was not responding to her advances. 

I kept my face blank from giving out the disgusted feeling.

"Can I get some water?", I said interrupting her sweet moment but girl I was thirsty and pissed. 

"Is that even an order?", she mocked and walked over after a giving a wink at Ryder. He was smiling at my embarrassment while my mouth was agape at the unexpected jab.

She practically threw the bottle at me before resuming her PDA. "What do you want, honey?", she asked with that fake voice. I wasn't holding now as I gagged in front of her. Guess who was shocked now?

"Sorry I was shocked", I said with a playful grin. Her face morphed into an anger. She stomped through the tables without a word. I turned towards Ryder smirking at me but turned blank as soon as our eyes met.

Time 9:30. A plate of taco balls, 7 bottles of water and no words of interaction. He was just there. I didn't intend him to talk to me but I expected some harsh words. He shut his phone and got up without a word taking his phone along with him. 

Time 10:00, no return of Ryder. I expected him to return from the rest room. The waitress that served me gave me the bill. I payed for those 7 bottles and the good taco's which I didn't expect. 

My friends were calling me non-stop. I had lied that I had work with library and was taking it on Saturday to complete it quickly. 

I pushed open the door, January breeze freezing me to death. I strolled through the restroom area almost seeing people's package. 

I came to the front and that's when I noticed his missing car. He left me without a word in here. For the second time in a week.

He knew how people were. Goddamn, they were eye fucking me. 

It was not time to get angry. I had to be out of this place before being kidnapped. Uber was an utter failure. I walked towards the main area. The dirt on the road was flying with every step and either side of the road was lush of green vegetative.

My heart stopped when I heard a whistle behind. I turned to see a guy around mid thirties giving me those dirty looks. I started walking fast on the one way road. He was clearly following me and I had no sense of direction. The moment I felt hands on my hips I took off in the opposite direction towards the 'Familiar'. 

Thankfully, I was just a lost hope to him. I took a seat in the corner catching my breathe. The crowd was thin but there were people which was comforting. After trying for Uber a few more times I called my last resort.

The bell rang and a sleepy voice answered the phone. "Emily?"

"Hey, I want a help. I am stuck in a restaurant and I want you to pick me up", I said biting my lower lip.

"Can't you walk? It's just fifteen minutes", he said.

"Actually its 45 minutes from home". I could hear rustling.

"What? Why did you go there? Are you okay? I am coming now", he said in a fast breathe.

"I just came with a friend and he took off. Uber isn't an option and yeah, I am okay. I'll send my location".

I didn't know how fast he drove but after half an hour the familiar car pulled into the driveway. He walked up to me and held my hands without a word and brought me to his car. The drive was quiet.

"I am sorry", I said looking at the ground. 

"Tell me what's happening. Don't try the 'I came with a friend bullshit'", he said momentarily looking at me. I started adjusting in my seat out of nervousness.

"I came with a friend".

He snickered at my response. "Oh yeah. Who's that friend?". Shit, I completely forgot that part. He continued before I even spoke.

"Think before you lie. I am gonna give them a  good talk tomorrow", he swirled the car in the highway.

I laughed. "Why are so sweet now? I just came with a friend whom I met at library and he just took off after I told him about my boring friends"

"Oh, please. You are the boring one in the friends and what's his name?", not leaving the topic.

I sighed and looked out of  the window, "Never mind, I don't trust him to come here again"
