I called it a day, sat on the other end of the couch. His black T-shirt was hugging clearly defining his pecs. Never blame the when a hot guy is sitting before you and drunk. He was handsome as hell and the grin just made him beautiful. I just shook my head and started preparing dinner. 

He went quiet after a few minutes. I searched for the pizza recipes and started preparing it. I was in the middle of putting the toppings when Luke entered the house. "Em!!", he scurried into the kitchen. He was panting in a dramatic way and pointed towards the couch. "Did you kill him?", he asked appalled.

"What? No, I didn't kill him. He just passed out in our couch. I waited for you to call Connor or someone to take him". Luke called Connor and the history repeated itself when Dustin and Connor carried the chunk outside. My pizza came out to be okay. I just saved for the other two and put a note in the kitchen to reheat.

"You know, Em is getting popular these days", Luke said turning from the front seat. Matt looked at us through rear view mirror so did Abby next to me. I was just as dumbfounded as her. "Why?", Abby enquired looking at me. "Connor asked for her number and you know what's ironic, girls were following him like bees", my face heated then and there. Just don't blush. "She's blushing", I looked at her with 'thanks for telling'. Everyone was smirking. I ran to my class as soon as the car was parked.

Chadd was walking before me, when I ran and catched up with him. "Hey, Em", he beamed. "Hey, Chadd", I smiled while I saw Devil and blonde was introducing their tonsils to each other. I was disgusted by the image burned in my memory. I couldn't unsee it. "Do you have any idea how to do the assignment?", Chadd asked scratching his head. I shrugged my shoulders and shook my head. We both turned to see Matt doing his assignment. He looked at us and quickly hid the assignment.

"I think we will do it fine", I said smiling smugly. "Do you wanna hangout today?", Chadd asked me. It felt good going out and Chadd decided to hangout next to the library so that I could start my shift right away. We went to the aquarium nearby. The moment I entered the building I was in love. The warmth and happiness was profound inside the tunnel. It was a whole new world inside. We both ran like kids from one tank to another. Touching the glasses and calling the mammals to come to us. My mouth was ajar the whole time I was inside, Chadd told me to close it several times only to be opened again.

"Thank you so much for this", I said pointing out the building beaming. "It was fun. We should come here often". I wasn't gonna disagree. This place charmed me. I started walking after convincing him it was only walkable distance from here. My stomach started rumbling when I crossed the cafe at the end of the street. Two steps forward, my stomach was playing band. 

I turned around to feed my baby before I go.  I just found out the cafe has the best croissant, the pastry spreading sweetness with every bite. I complemented with an iced Americano. Ralph enquired about my knees as soon as I entered the library. "I am fine now", I smiled genuinely. I was reading Women in white engrossed in the book when someone tapped my table. 

Devil was standing. This time he suited his black jeans with a blood red perfectly matching his emerald eyes. He was standing and I was looking at him. "About yesterday", he started. I was expecting him to apologize when walked off unexpectedly. "HEY!", he turned around. I was a fool to ask this question. I knew he was popular and a playboy- dangerous combination. "What is your name?".

The smirk pierced through in his mouth and glim of playfulness in his eyes. "Ryder, Emily". Okay, that was a shock. He walked off without a word. Did Connor talk about me that much?. That was the only way he knew my name, right?. I was assigned to check the stock. Not to offend, but not many came to this library. 

Work at the cafe was fun filled. Into the shift ten minutes, Lucas was asked out by Christopher. You should've seen the shock instilled in Luke's face. He somehow managed to decline the offer and was hiding behind me the whole time. He even took my tables to avoid Christopher while Christopher was licking his lips the whole time whenever he looked at Luke. Chris was whipped.

"Christ!. Today was something", he huffed in frustration. I wanted to tell everyone about it. "It was something", I said smiling to myself. "Did I give him any signs?", Lucas asked while we were walking towards the elevator. "Apart from walking like a girl and winking at boys. No, you did not give any signs.", I mumbled controlling my burst out.

My phone rang. I told Lucas to go on without me while started walking around the compound. "Hey, Papi. How are you?", I asked him cheerfully. "Aside missing my best grandchild, I am doing great", he sounded dejected. "I miss you too Papi" and I filled him with everything that happened. I started walking towards the elevator laughing at Papi's old jokes. The door was about to closed when a girl put her hand in between.

That wasn't it was. It was the devil handsome as hell who followed the girl. "Then what happened?", Papi asked bringing back my attention. I moved to front corner of the elevator to avoid the things that girl was doing to him. "Luke is scared shitless", I said laughing at the thought. "When will you come home?",  he asked with despair. 

My chest tightened. I missed home. "I will come soon. I love you", I said. The phone call made me emotional. Someone cleared the throat. The girl was next to me looking at me intently asking if I was okay. I nodded with a smile and hurried to my house.
