CHAPTER SEVETY-FOUR: WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

"Ben" Luther said as the creature got bigger "Ah shit! We gotta get that thing away from Viktor" Luther said.

"What if we hurt it?" Lila asked "Doesn't it matter" Diego pulled out a knife "They might still be alive" Klaus said.

Then Diego charge towards the creature and the creature swung out some tentacles towards Diego but he dodged them before he ran up the escalators.

"We should get to cover" Five said before he grab you and blink you behind a counter while Lila blink away, appearing up on the second floor by the escalators.

"You stay here okay" he told you "What about you?" you asked "I will handle this thing, and kill it" he said "Let me help you" you said "No Y/n/n, you don't have powers, but we do" he said "You have taught me to fight" you said "Yeah, but this is too dangerous, I don't want you getting hurt, so you stay here and stay safe" he said "But---" "Hey, you wanted to come, unless you want me to blink you home, beside think about our little jellybean, think about our child you are carrying, so please" he said and you let out a sigh.

"I promise it will all be over soon" he lay a kiss on your forehead before he blink away, appearing up on the second floor by the escalators next to Lila.

"Oh shit!" Allison started running "Allison, wait!" Luther shouted as she ran over to cover.

"Oh God" Luther said.

The creature looked at Viktor and it could see the marigold glowing inside him "Let's go! Over here! Over here!" Luther shouted and the creature looked at him to also see the marigold glowing inside him and Klaus.

"Come on! Whoo, yeah!" Luther shouted and the creature started to approached him "That's right! Come on! Come get these legs and eggs, baby!" Luther shouted at it.

"What are you doing big guy? What are you doing?" Klaus asked him "I'm trying to start a fight" Luther replied before he looked back at the creature "Hey, come on, assface. Come on! Hey!" he shouted at it as both him and Klaus started waving their hands getting the creature's attention who lifted up a tentacle as you could hear it bellows shrilly.

Klaus grab Luther's arm as the creature swung the tentacle towards them but Klaus then used his powers and floating him and Luther up on the second floor but Klaus was hit with the tentacle causing him to fell on a glass table while Luther landed on his feet.

"Klaus!" Luther rushed over to him "Hey!" he said "I can fly now" Klaus said as Luther turned him around "Oh, it hurts" he said.

"Hey, hey, Viktor" you and Allison rushed over to Viktor who was laying on the floor "How are you doing?" Allison asked Viktor "I'm okay" he replied "Okay, I gotcha" you said as you and Allison drag Viktor behind a counter "I'm okay" he said.

Lila and Five was looking down at the creature from the second floor "Holy fuck!" Lila said and Five noticed that the creature looked towards the place where you were hiding together with Allison and Viktor.

"Hell no, you son of a bitch, no one touch my woman" he quickly pulled out his gun "You should know that I'm a better shot when I'm pissed off" Five hissed before he started shooting at the creature causing the creature to let out a roar.

But the bullet didn't do much damaged "Okay, that didn't work" Five said and the creature turned its attention to the two.

"Eye lasers?" Lila asked "Yeah, yeah" Five looked at her before he looked down at the creature and he spotted a tanks standing next to it.

"Aim for the tanks" Five said and Lila activated her green lasers and hit the tank causing it to explored right next to the creature making it let out a low rolling bellow noise.

But instead it started growing "Is is supposed to get bigger?" Lila asked.

The creature then swung its tentacles towards the two and Five and Lila blink away.

Lila appeared next to you "I'm here, I'm here!" she said as she help Allison and you with Viktor.

Five appeared next to Diego and he stumble into him "You okay?" Diego asked as he help Five back on his feet "Yeah" Five said before he looked at the creature "We have to find out a way to stop that thing" he said.

You peek around the counter to see the creature have gotten bigger.

"I've really had enough of this shit" Allison said "It's really big and scary" you said.

"Okay" Allison got out of cover "Allison!" Lila said as Allison looked at the creature "What are you doing?" you asked.

"My turn" Allison said before her eyes glow gray white.

"Allison!" Ben said with a distorted voice and she saw his face in the creature which cause her eyes to change back "What are you waiting for?" Lila asked "It's Ben" Allison said "Not anymore" Lila said.

"Allison, watch out!" Luther shouted but Allison was hit with the tentacle "NO!" Luther shouted as Allison was throw backwards and the tentacles hit some part of the wall causing some bricks to collapsed above her but she reach to roll out of the way.

"All right. That's it" Luther jumped down from the second floor and landed behind the creature.

"Come on. We gotta get up" Lila said as you and her help Viktor on his feet. "Come on!" you said.

"Pick on someone your own size, you giant piece of shit" Luther said before he walked over to the creature and threw a punch at it.

But it was like his hand was suck into the creature "Uh, a little help?" he glanced at Lila, Viktor who have gotten up.

"My hands is stuck in his ass" Luther said "Let's do this?" Lila said "Okay" Viktor nodded and while Lila mimic his powers as the two of them power up and shot their powers towards the creature causing it to let out a lurid shriek.

"It's not working!" Viktor shouted "It's like it's getting bigger" you said.

Luther managed to get his arm free as Lila and Viktor powered down.

The creature howled at them as it grow bigger causing everyone to look at it with widened eyes.

"Will this thing ever stop growing?" you asked.

Then Five blink on top of the creature before stabbing it with a knife causing it to scream in pain as it tried to shake Five off.

Then Diego stab the creature in the side causing it to scream

Viktor and Lila shot their powers at the creature. 

But then the creature swung with all tentacles, hitting, you, Lila, Viktor, Klaus, Allison and Luther causing you all to get thrown backwards.

The creature shook Five and Diego off before swinging its tentacles towards Five who reach to roll out of the way.

Luther grab Diego before those two rushed over to Allison, Viktor, Lila and Klaus who was hiding behind a counter.

"That things just wouldn't die" Lila said as you all watch the creature getting up before roaring at you.

The creature then released all of its tentacles, hitting you and the others causing you all to land in different directions.

Your back hit a wall causing you to let out a grunt as you fell on the floor.

"Y/N!" Five blink over to you "I'm okay" you said as he help you up "How do we beat it?" Viktor asked and Five looked at you.

He grab your hand before looked at his siblings "It's over" he said before blinking away.

"Did Five just leave us?" Luther asked "We have to go now" Klaus said and they all left the building.

You and Five appeared in the subway "Why did you do that Five?" you asked "Just come" he lead you to the train.

"Where are we going?" you asked as you and Five enter the train "I just need to clear my mind" he said as you both sat down

"But we are going back. Right?" you asked "Of course" he said  as the train started moving.

A part of him was lying. A part of him wasn't planning in going back. A part of him want to leave his family to die, as long as he have you with him, he will be fine. As long as you and Five have each other, you would be fine.

"I need to find out a way to stop this" Five said "You will" you said.  

Then the sound of brakes screech was heard as the train stopped before the door opened.

"Are we going out or?" you asked.

Then footsteps clambering was heard which cause both you and Five to look out and you narrowed your eyes when you saw another version of Five, looking into the train with a smile as he walked past it.

"Okay, that was another version of you. The same version, same age, same body, same clothes,  exactly the same" you said "Come on, let's check it out" Five got up and you both walked out of the train.

"Hey, wait!" Five called out as the other version of him walked down the stairs which made you and Five followed him.

When you walked down the stairs you both stopped before your eyes widened when you saw what looks like a diner with a sign over it saying.

Max's DELICATESSEN

"Okay, that is just weird" you said as you could heard the song 'Ain't it a shame' playing faintly from the diner.

"Come" Five said and the two of you walked closer to the dinner as the sound of bold, rollicking rock music was playing faintly.

Five opened the door as you both walked in and your eyes widened when you saw the diner was filled with versions of Five. They all look the same.

"Okay, that's is just weird" you said as the sound of indistinct chatter was heard.

"That is a lot of version of you, why are they so calm, shouldn't they have paradox psychosis?" you asked "I don't think there is one in this timeline" Five said before he took off his jacket and hang it by the other jackets.   

"There you go" a waiter Five as approached a table where three Fives were sitting, giving them a plate with food.

You and Five looked around confuse as you both walked farther into the diner.

"Our specials..."

"Hey, you over...." one of the Five's eyes landed on you "Here" he said barely forcing out the last word as all the Five stared at you in shock.  

"I think they are surprise in seeing me" you said.

"Hey, you" a Five called out to your Five "Over here" he said as he was sitting over by a booth.

Five looked at you "You go, I will be over and have some food, it's actually smells really good here" you said and Five nodded. 

"Can someone get Drunk Five out of here?" one of the Fives said as you walked over to the counter.

"Hey Y/n" Brisket Five said "You know me" you asked "Yeah, everyone here have had a version of you" he said "What happen to them?" you asked "We lost her" he said "I'm sorry" you said "Well, we're all glad to see one of you again" he smiled.

"Remember the rules, waiter Five. No flirting with other Y/ns" another Five said "There's more of me too?" you asked "Of course. But you're a rare right, not every Five has a Y/n and not every Five who has one brings her here. Always a pleasure thought" Brisket Five said. 

"So what can I get you?" he asked.

Five still confuse walked over to the booth and sat across the other Five.

"What is this place?" Five asked the other Five who took a sip of his coffee.

"It's a gas station. The hell does it look like? It's a deli" the other Five said and another Five who was reading a newspaper chuckled.

"Why don't any of us have paradox psychosis?" Five asked "Yeah that took us a lot to figure it out, but it is actually because this diner is actually out of the timeline. All paradox only works inside the timeline which is why none of us have paradox psychosis"

Then waiter Five came over to their table "Coffee" he said and Five looked up to see it was another version of him.

"And...two pastrami" waiter Five said as he put a plate with two sandwiches in front of your Five before putting another plate with two sandwiches in front of the other Five.

"Bon appétit" waiter Five said before leaving while the other Five looked at the sandwich and let out a scoff.

"It's a little light on the sauerkraut, no?" Five asked as he pointed on the sandwich "Yeah, it says it on the menu. I keep telling him, but he never listens" the other Five said.

"Sorry" Five said "It's not your fault" the other Five said "Theoretically, it is" Five said before he grab a mug of coffee "Oh, you're not gonna like that" the other Five pointed on the mug.

The other Five looked over at you who was sitting by the counter talking to Brisket Five behind the counter.

"Your Y/n is alive, that's good" the other Five said "Wait so you know her?" Five asked "Well all of us have had another version of her, met differently in different timeliens, but we always meet her" the other Five said "And what happen?" Five asked "We lost her" the other Five said "How?" Five asked "In some of them she left us, and in some she...." "Died?" Five asked and the other Five nodded.   

"So I take it you figured out the subway system by now" he said before taken a bite of his sandwich "Alternate versions of the same moment in time?" Five asked "That is correct" the other Five said with his mouth full "You'd be surprised how long it took some of the Fives to figure that out" he said and Five look more confuse.

"We're all you from alternate timelines. Most of us here have give up trying to fix the problem" the other Five said "Because we lost our Y/n?" Five asked "Yeah. Because we lost our Y/n. She was our light, our reason to keep fighting, so when we lost her, that hope and light in us disappeared, we couldn't find a reason to keep fighting, so we gave up" the other Five said as his face fall.

"You're lucky you know?" the two Five looked over at you who was laughing at something Brisket Five said.

"You still have your Y/n, she is still with you and still alive, so you have done it better than any of us have" the other Five said and the two looked back at each other.

"What problem?" Five asked "The broken timeline, man. There's only supposed to be one" the other Five replied "I don't get it. I..." Five said confused.

"Look around, Five. Does this seems right to you?" the other Five asked and Five looked around.

"No" he looked back at the other Five "But---" "What? You think Einstein was thinking of this when he was figuring our relativity?" the other Five lifted up his cup "Not a chance. This shit would made his head explode" he took a sip of the coffee.

"Okay. So what shattered the original timeline?" Five asked "Not 'What'" the other Five pointed at him "'Who" he stroke a piece of his hair away from his face as he put down his mug.

"And I will give you three guesses to figure it out" the other Five lifted up three of his fingers on his right hand.

Then Brisket Five rang the small bell on the counter "We did!" he called out and the other Five looked at him "Why are you always gotta wreck shit, Brisket Five?" he asked and Brisket Five smiled "Why?" the other Five asked.

"By 'we' he means the family" Five looked back at the other Five "My siblings?" he asked "The morons, yeah" the other Five said "I'm familiar with them. Yeah" Five nodded slightly.

"The Marigold in us is the cause. One perfect timeline, and the moment we come into existence...boom! Shattered to an infinite number of alternate timelines in an infinite loop of time as we try and save the world-- How many times was it again?" the other Five asked the Five that was sitting in a booth behind them, reading newspaper.

"145, 412" he replied "That's a lot" Five said.

"He's like Rain Man, that one. He loves numbers" the other Five said as he took another sip of his coffee.

"Oh, by the way, check out the artwork" he pointed on the wall and Five looked at the pictures of the wall, but they were all pictures of the apocalypse and the end of the world.

"It's all the different ways we've made our universe go kaboom" the other Five said and Five exhales sharply.

"Gold star for consistency, am I right?" the other Five took another sip of his coffee.

"One perfect timeline and the moment we find love, it decides to come to shit" the other Five said "We need to fix this" Five said "Oh, trust me. We're tried. That's why one of us created The Commission. He wanted to undo all the broken timelines. Get back to the one and only. And hope that in at least one of them Y/n will stay with us, and we can live a happy life together. But that always fails because...." the other Five pointed at Five who sighed "The family is the problem. We're doomed to save or destroy the world over and over again, ad infinitum" he said "Bingo" another that Five sitting by a table behind them said.

 "Bingo" the Five that was sitting across your Five said with his mouth full.

 "So all the marigold have to go" Five said "All of it" the other Five nodded.

"Sorry. I need to get back to my family. Stop this from ever happening" Five got up.

"Well, good luck with that" the other Five said with a nod.

"Y/n, let's go!" Five called out and you looked at Brisket Five "This was weird, but fun" you said "Take care of yourself, Y/n" he said and you smiled before you got off the chair and walked over to Five.

"You can go and Y/n can stay here, we'd love the company" newspaper Five said "Stay in your lane asshole, this one's mine" your Five hissed at him.

"Guess you don't want your brisket to go?" the other Five asked Five as you both left.

"So now what?" you asked Five "I have a way to stop this" Five said "How?" you asked and Five glanced at you.

He didn't wanted to tell you the price it will cost to save the world. He didn't wanted to tell you what him and his siblings have to do in order to stop all of this. He know how you will react.
