CHAPTER SEVEN: SOUNDS WAVES

"Okay, it's set" you said as you had connected the machine "Thanks" Five glanced at you with a smile "You're welcome" you smiled.

"So now what?" he asked "All we have to do is wait" you said "I will watch it and tell you when something comes up" your dad said.

"And I will clean that cut of yours" you grab Five's hand before dragging him into your bedroom.

"Please sit down, so I can see the cut better" you said and he nodded before he sat down on a chair that was next to the bed while you came back holding a first aid kit "Here, let me clean it" you said "It don't need to be clean" he said "Can you please not be so stubborn and let me see. A chimpanzee can actually hurt you, even a baby. So let's me just clean it so it doesn't get infected" you said and he nodded before he moved his head so you could look at the cut.

You dip the rag in the water before you started cleaning his cut on the neck, you had your head tilted so you could see his neck better.

Readjusting the rag in your hand, you started dabbing the blood around the cuts lightly before putting the rag on the small night table next to the bed.

You then grabbed a bottle of peroxide, before you flipped the cap open while Five just kept staring at you.

"This is going to hurt for a second" you said and he nodded. You lifted his chin to get more access to the cut. You bit your lip in concentration as you got to work.

As you felt his eyes on you. You could feel your body became warm and you felt like your heart was beating faster.

Why did you get that feelings, you just met him?

You began dipping the rag around the cuts causing him to flinch a bit.

"Sorry" you said "It's okay" he said.

There was almost a minute of silence as the two of you just stared at each other.

"So you have two monkeys in the family?" you asked "Luther isn't really a monkey, but something went wrong on a mission and to save his life, Reginald put something in his body turning his body into something from a monkey" Five said "So he is half monkey?" you asked and he nodded "Yeah, you can say that" he said "You got a weird family" you said.

"It is weirder" he said "Tell me" you said "Okay, but remember you accepted the risk" he said and you chuckled.

Five then started to tell you everything about his family and what kind of powers they had.

"My family is not how you imagine" he said "Then what?" you asked "Well, Luther, Number One, is a dumbass. He's the big one, shortest hair, he is the one that is half monkey. His abilities is super strength. He has being on the moon for four years. He is like superman but much much dummer, plus is a daddy's boy" he said and you let out a chuckled.

"Then there is Diego, him you have met, Number Two, goth boy, wearing black all the time and he is a mommy's boy. He is like batman but aim lower. His ability is that he can curve anything he throw but most used knife which explain why he carries around knives. He might be rude to you" he explain and you nodded, taking in all the information.

"Then there is Allison, Number Three. Her ability is that she can rumor anyone to do anything. In our time she is a movie star and has a daughter name Claire" he said and you nodded.

"Then there is Klaus. Number Four, the weird one, he is always high and drunk all the time. He used to be the fun one of us. His ability is to see the dead and communicate with them" he said "That must be a cool ability but on the other hand it must be hard seeing and hearing all the dead people. Maybe that's why he drink and is high" you said "Yeah maybe. Anyway he is crazy. He might start believing that we're dating and come up with weird comments about the relationship he think we are in, so be aware" he said "He think we are dating?" you asked and he nodded "He comes up with weird comments all the time" he said "Why?" you asked "He is like that" he said "So he is the fun one" you said and he nodded.

"Then there is Vanya. Number Seven, spend years thinking that she had no powers. But she is actually have, she can convert sound into energy. Can harness and manipulate sound and energy, redistributing it in a number of possible ways. Her eyes turn and sink turns ice blue when she is using her powers" he explain "And she is the one that cause the 2019 apocalypse?" you asked and he nodded "Maybe she is the cause this time" you said "I don't know maybe, but I know that me and my siblings are not supposed to be here and that is the reason why the timeline is in danger and the apocalypse will happen" he said "And that is why you're being chased?" you asked and he nodded "Those people that shot at us were sent by the company I was working for, they are trying to kill me and probably my siblings as well" he said "Why?" you asked "'Cause us being here is a threat to the timeline which is why they want to kill us before we screw the timeline more up" he said.

"What was the name of the company you work for again?" you asked "It's name 'The Terms Commission' They monitor all times and space to make sure that whatever is supposed to happen...happens. Their job is to protect the timeline. And if someone is messing with the timeline, they sent agent like me out to kill them. So the timeline don't changed. And I became the best of them. They takes helpless vulnerable people and then turn them into slaves for a corrupt system" he said

"Well, I will never think of you as a monster or a killer, Five. Never" you said and he looked at you.

"Yes, you murdered people but only for the greater good of the universe. You only kill people to protect the one you love. Everyone would do that. And if you hadn't taking that job, you wouldn't be here and try to stop the end of the world. You wouldn't be the hero you are trying to be now" you said and he smiled, it was the nicest thing someone has ever said to him.

"Look Y/n, about your dad" Five started after the few minutes of silence.

"I did mean to have him untied. Obviously some people are incapable of doing such a simple task" he said as he shot a glance at you for a brief moment.

"Point is, I'm...sorry" he muttered "I'm sorry what was that? I didn't hear you" you said "I said I'm sorry" he breathed a little louder through gritten teeth.

"Speak up" you said even so you heard him the first time "I'm sorry. Okay I apologize" he said "Thanks" you smiled.

"You know we didn't started up that well, so let's try again" he said before he stretched his hand towards you "I'm Five Hargreeves" he said and you smiled "Hello Five, I'm Y/n Gussman" you said as you both shook hands "Nice to meet you Y/n" he said "Nice to meet you too, Five" you said and the two of you smiled to each other.

Even if he wanted to he couldn't be attracted or attacted to anyone. He was taught that from the time he learn how to walk and was also taught by his time in the Commission. He can't let that happen. Especially if the person are from another timeline, he know how dangerous it could be. Beside there was nobody to talk to when he was stuck in the apocalypse and everyone at the Commission just weren't his type of people.

Unfortunately you seems to be and he wanted so badly to have a nice conversation with you, but he had an apocalypse to worry about and he only had a few days to find his family, stop the apocalypse and get him and his family back to that timeline they belong it. Therefore he can't get too attached to you even so it was so hard, he already felt a connection between the two of you, it was like a thread pulling him towards you and you towards him.

Suddenly there was a sound of an alarm buzzing.

"Hey, we got one!" your dad shouted as he dropped his spoon in his bowl with oatmeal "Hey, one of those machines you asked for is going crazy" he said "Which one?" Five asked as you and him stood up from the couch before stopping behind Elliott "It's the, uh, atmospheric radar" Elliott answered as he was looking at the green radar screen in front of them.

"Good" Five said "I don't get it. What are you tracking?" Elliott asked and turned to look at Five "A hurricane? A storm front?" he asked "Sound waves" Five answered, knowing that it was Vanya.

"Sound waves" Elliott said a little bit confused "Sound waves?" you asked confused and Five took a step back "Wow. What--" Elliott said but Five walked over to you "Come, you are coming with me" he said as he stretched his left hand towards you. "With you? Where?" you asked "To get my sister" he said "So you want me with you this time?" you asked "Yeah, why not?" he smirked and you grabbed his hand.

Five grabbed your hand tight before blinking you both out of the apartment.

"Where are you going?" Elliott asked but you and Five were already gone.

You clutched Five's arm as you stumbled a bit when he blinked the two of you to a cornfield but Five caught you "I'm here" he said as he help you get back on your feet.

"You alright?" he asked in concern "Yeah, let's go" you breath out and he nodded before you followed him through the cornfield.

"Who are we looking for again?" you asked as you looked around, walking past a part of the field that was a circle and the corn was knock down.

"My sister Vanya. Be careful where you trip" he said as the two of you continued to walk farther into the cornfield while moving the cornstalks out of the way so you could get through.

Then Five almost tripped when the two of you came into a small open area and you let out a small laugh as you saw Five almost tripping and he glanced at you before he let out a softly scoffs "Shut it" he said with a small smile.

"Then don't be a dumbass and watch where you are stepping, just like you told me not long ago" you chuckled.

Then you spotted Vanya sitting on the ground, hiding in between all the cornstalks, so you and Five walked closer to her before Five moved some of the cornstalks out of the way.

"Hi, Vanya" Five said with a smile as he looked down at her "Who are you?" Vanya asked, slowly getting up "I'm your brother" Five answered "I have a brother?" Vanya asked before she looked at you Who are you? Are you my sister?" she asked "No" you shook your head.

"She is my friend" he said "I'm Y/n. It's nice to meet you, Vanya" you said with a smile "You too, Y/n" Vanya said.

"Look, you can either stay here and wait for the IKEA mafia to come back to kill you, or you can come with us" Five said before he turned around and you follow after him "Wh...Why are they trying to kill me?" she asked as she followed you and Five through the cornfield.

"'Cause you're not supposed to be here, Vanya" Five said as he pushed past some of the cornstalks "In Dallas?" she asked, confused "No. Here, in 1963" Five said.

The three of you walked out to a large opening area in the middle of the cornfield with corn flattened.

You and Five glanced at each other before stopping and turned around when you got few feet into the large circle.

"Holy shit" she said with her eyes widened "Yeah, pretty wild, right?" Five said, looking back on the area before he turned to Vanya "It's good to see your powers are still intact" he said "Wait, you did this?" you asked and Five nodded "She did" he said "Woah, wicked" you said.

"Did those men came after you two too?" she asked "Not me, but they kinda shot at me because of him" you pointed on Five.

"Yeah, they came after me not long after I arrived here. They killed Hazel who was someone that helped me" he said before he looked at Vanya "Let's find a place to talk" he said "I know a café that is laying close by" you said "Then let's go" he said.

The three if you arrived at the nearby diner and you sat down by the counter.

The waitress gave coffee Five while Vanya and you just got water.

Five looked up from the mug as the waitress stopped pouring the coffee from the pot "Leave the pot, dear" Five said to her and she put the pot in front of Five next to his mug "Thank you" he said as he grabbed the pot before he poured more coffee into his mug before putting the pot down on the counter in front of him.

The waitress turned around "Lippy little shit" she said as she walked away.

You couldn't help but roll your eyes. Why did you became so annoyed all of a sudden? Why didn't you like that waitress called Five that?

"You gonna tell me what the hell's going on?" Vanya asked as she was looking at Five.

"When you were a baby, you were bought by an eccentric billionaire. He raised you in an elite academy with six other siblings with extraordinary powers. But in the year 2019, in order to avoid the apocalypse, we jumped into a vortex and ended up being scattered throughout the timeline in Dallas, Texas" he explain said.

"Are you one of those siblings?" Vanya looked at you "No, she is from this timeline, so no" Five quickly said "I'm his acquaintance friend, right?" you looked at Five who looked at you "Right. She is helping me" he nodded before he looked back at his sister.

"Any questions?" he asked "What do you mean 'the apocalypse'?" Vanya asked shakily "I mean the end of the world as you know it" he said.

When Five said that you choke in your water you have being drinking. You have forgot about that part.

"Oh shit. Hold on" Five told his sister before he turned to you and he put his hand on your back before he started hitting his palm against your back, helping you.

"I know this is a lot to handle but it's the truth. I told you already" he said "I forgot about that part" you cough a few times.

"I'm good" you said and he nodded.

"But how?" she asked "You really don't remember anything?" he said as he looked at her.

"No, nothing before a month ago" she said "Then what do you remember?" he asked.

"I landed in, like a...back alley. Got hit by a car. My head was ringing like crazy. I had no idea how I got there, where I came from" she said before she looked back at him "What causes the apocalypse?" she asked.

"Asteroid impact. The big kaboom ends everything. Just like the one that got the dinosaurs except way worse" he said as he picked up his mug "Bad news is, it followed us here" he said and she looked at him "What do you mean 'followed us'?" she asked and he looked at her "Eight days from now, the world ends in a nuclear doomsday. It's a different disease, but...same result" he said.

"That can't be right" Vanya said, tilting her head "I saw it. With my own eyes" Five said before he let out a sigh "You were there. Y/n wasn't but the rest of us were" he said and you looked at him.

"Shit" Vanya said, shaking her head "I need to make a phone call" she said before getting up from her seat, walking over to a phone that was on the wall.

"Vanya" Five said "Let her make a call" you said and Five looked at you.

"You okay?" he asked "Yeah, just had a lot to take in these few days" you said "Listen Y/n" he said as he put his hand on your shoulders "All I have to do is find my siblings and then go back home, 'cause that will prevent the apocalypse and save everyone" he said "And I promise that I will help you with that. I never break a promise" you said "Are you sure you want to help me, you can still back out? 'Cause it will be dangerous" he said "My life is kinda boring, little excitement will be nice" you smiled and he chuckled before he took a final sip of his coffee.

"I still don't understand how you can drink that" you said "You get use to it" he smirked.

"This is taken too long, come on Darling" he said to you as he walked over to Vanya.

Both your eyes widened when Five said that and he kinda froze when he realized what he just said.

"Why the hell did I just say that?" Five said inside his head while you stood still for a moment stunned by his word, your jaw opened a little bit.

Did he just call you 'Darling' and why didn't you mind?

"Five" you looked at him but he just walked over to Vanya acting like he didn't just say that.

He then ended Vanya's call "What the hell?" she asked as she was looking at him "We don't have time for this" Five said "That's my friend and you just hung up on" Vanya said "Listen to me" Five said as he grabbed Vanya's shoulders "Those people from the field are coming after us. They are never going to stop. Do you understand me?" he asked softly "We need to stick together, find the others and figure out how to stop doomsday. Whoever this person is, they can't be more important than the end of the world" he said before he removed his hands from her shoulders "Maybe they are for her Five, when you love someone, they mean everything to you, even an apocalypse" you said which caused Five to glanced at you before he looked back at Vanya.

"We need to go" he said "But he is right Vanya. A family is stronger together, so maybe it's best that you stay with each other and find your family and stop doomsday" you said and Vanya place the phone back with a sigh.

"Come on" Five said before he turned around and left the diner.

"So where are we headed now?" you asked "To Luther, see if he have changed his mind" Five said as you all three got into the car.

"You're going to drive?" you asked as Five got into the driver seat "Yeah" he nodded "Do you even know how to drive?" you asked "I know how to do anything" he smirked at you as you were sitting next to him.

His cheek was a little red. But he turned away from you hoping you wouldn't notice. He hated the feeling you were giving him, he hated that he loved that damn feeling but he had no time for such things, not when he had to save the world.

"Uhm are you two...dating?" Vanya asked which caused you and Five your widened your eyes.

"WHAT? NO!" you both shouted "I mean we're hardly even friend" Five said "We're what you can call acquaintance friend, I'm just helping him to get home since he kinda invaded me and my dad's home, so" you said.

"Is just I heard him calling you Darling" Vanya said "I didn't" Five said "I was pretending to be Bonnie. And he was Clyde" you said "Bonnie, Clyde?" Vanya asked confuse.

"Nothing" you said before you turned to Vanya "So tell me what you have being doing?" you asked.

While you and Vanya was talking Five couldn't help but glanced at you every now and then as he was driving down the road.

Your expressions and body language said so much about you.

Before he knew it, his cheek were red and he even felt he was blushing and it spread down to his neck and across his face to his ears. He turned back to look at the road.

You really was quite the looker and the more he got to know you, the more he saw it and the more he hated it.

"Stop it Five, we don't have time, beside you know its' wrong. Not just because of the age different, but it can also be dangerous because you are from two different timeline" Five said inside his head as he shook that feeling away.

But he didn't noticed that Vanya have noticed the way he was looking at you as you were talking, it was not in way that he wanted you to shut up or kill you, it wasn't the love he gave anyone else from what Vanya gathered, it wasn't exactly loving either tough, he looked interested, he look like he love listen to you and he could do that for hours. It was like sweet music in his ears.

Vanya had also noticed how Five's cheek turned read and she knew what it meant.

It was obvious to her that Five was attracted to you, more like he like you and she could see that you like him too, but both you and Five couldn't see it. Not yet.

You, Five and Vanya arrived at a fight club and you spotted Luther inside a boxing ring fighting against another huge guy.

The crowd was cheering and shouting as the three of you walked through the crowd before you moved closer to the ring so you could see better.

"So that's Luther?" you asked and Five nodded "Didn't you tell me that he have super strength?" you asked as as you saw Luther getting beating up by the other huge guy.

"Look, he's pummeling him" Vanya said "Hit me again" Luther said to the guy and the guy punched him across the face.

You didn't like the screams and the crowd. You felt trap at how many people there was.

"Again! Hit me!" Luther said "Luther, are you crazy? Just hit him!" Five shouted "Come on, Luther!" Jack shouted "Hit me. I wanna feel pain. I wanna feel all the pain. Give me everything you've got!" Luther said and the guy threw a punch at him so hard that he flew off the ground causing the crowd to be quiet and Vanya's and Five's eyes widened in shock.

Luther landed on his back and the crowd started shouting again before angry shouts was heard.

"Shit. Luther" Five said "Why didn't he fight back?" Vanya asked "He was not focus" Five said.

You wonder what happen to him that made him feel like that?

Five then looked at you to see that you had your ears covered "You okay?" he asked "Yeah, I just don't like huge crowd and all the scream, I feel trap" you said "Then let's go outside" he said before he lead you outside, pushing people out of the way.

When you came outside, you took a deep breath, breathing in the fresh air and you didn't felt trap anymore.

"You okay?" Five asked in his soft voice "Yeah" you nodded "I just...I don't really like being in huge crowd and all the noises, I feel trap" you said "Why didn't you tell me, you could have just waited outside" he said "I promised to help you" you said "Yeah, but I don't want you to hurt yourself, or getting in a situation like that just to help me" he said "Sorry" you said "Well, just don't push yourself" he said "I wouldn't. Beside I can handle it" you said "Good because I don't want you to get hurt" he said and you looked at him.

"I mean....I know I will feel guilty if you die because of me and I don't want to carry around that guilt, beside if you die because you are helping me, we change the timeline and who knows what will happen then, so it's best we don't mess with time, it can have big consequences" he said, not wanted to show or tell you that he actually started to care about you, so much that he knew that he would be upset if you died or something bad happen to you.

"Well, I'm glad that I'm important" you said "Everyone is important. Just like everything can affect everything. Time is fickle. The slightest alteration in events can lead to massively different outcomes in the time continuum" he said "Like the butterfly effect?" you asked "Yeah" he nodded "Exactly like the butterfly effect, you know about that?" he asked "Study it in school" you said and he nodded "Then you know how dangerous it can be when you mess with time" he said "I do" you nodded.

"So let's hope we don't and you guys fix this and go home" you said and he nodded.

You smiled before you looked up at the stars "The stars are shining more tonight" you said and he looked up at the clear night sky. "It's rare that it's so clear a sky in November" you said with a smile.

"Look at all those stars. They are like diamonds" you kept staring at the stars "Did you know that it can take hundreds of years for the light of a star to reach earth, and by the time we see it, the star might not even exit anymore. Isn't it crazy?" you asked.

"The light shines even though the star is gone" he said "Yeah, it does" you nodded.

Then suddenly you saw a shooting star "Look! A shooting star!" you pointed at it "Yeah" he said as you both watched it fly across the night sky.

"That was a long one!" you both watch it disappear "Yeah" you said.

"You know I read, that everytime you saw one it was a soul going to heaven" he said "I like that" you smiled.

"Aren't we suppose to wish on it?" you asked and he looked at you "Why?" he asked "Because my dad told me that if you wish on a shooting star, it will come true" you said "Alright" he said "Don't say it out loud" you said and he nodded before he closed his eyes to wish and you did the same.

The two of you then opened your eyes "What did you wish for?" he looked at you "Nope, not gonna tell you" you said "Why not?" he asked "Because then it will not come true" you said "Come on, I will tell you my wish if you tell me yours" he said and you shook your head "No, I'm not telling" you said.

"Fine. Beside I don't think mine will come true" he said "Why is that?" you asked "Because it's something I can't have" he looked at you with a smile while you were looking up at the stars.

"Don't lose hope Five, if you keep fighting for it, the chance of it coming truth will be bigger" you said "I hope" he sighed.

He actually wish that his siblings appreciate him and be grateful for everything he had done once in a while.

But he also wish for something else. Something he knew wouldn't come true, because he didn't deserve it.

He didn't deserve to find happiness and love. Someone who sees all of him and love all of him, even those parts that he struggle to love himself, someone who bring out the best in him. Someone who bring out his humanity, someone who can unfreeze and break his stone old heart.

As Five looked at you, he couldn't shake the image of your peaceful face from his mind. There was something about you that got under his skin, something that made him feel...different, but he didn't have time to figure out what that meant, not now.

Five pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and focued on what needed to be done. There was still so much at stake and he couldn't affored to let his guard down, not for anyone and certainly not for a girl like you.

He shook his head, mentailly chastising himself for letting his thoughts wander. There was no room for sentimentality in what needed to be done. He had a mission, and getting distracted by a girl, especially one like you, was the last thing he needed.

Lila and Diego was laying in bed after they have slept together.

Lila slowly sat up from the bed before taking her clothes on and left slowly, so she didn't woke up Diego.

She walked out of the apartment and into a pet shop. She walked over to some puppies "Hi, little guy" she said to a puppy.

She then walked over to a small fish tank before she dipped her hand down, grabbing a small treasure chest before taking it out.

She opened it to found a golden room key with the number 217 on.

She took the key before walking out of the pet shop.

Lila arrived at the motel before she used the key, opening a door before she enter "I'm late, I know" she said as she enter, looking around.

"All kind of crazy going on outside" she said and she grabbed an envelope before she flopped down on the bed "Hey, can I order room service? I'm starving" she said.

The Handler exited the bathroom as she was brushing her hair "Of course. You deserve it" she said and Lila sat up before she smiled "Thanks, Mum" she said before she got up, walking over to The Handler and kissed her on the cheek.
