CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE: THE KUGELBLIZT

Five opened a side door "Exsqueeze me" she said as she walked past him "You're excused" he said.

"Operations bunker" she said as she walked over to a huge round door.

Lila leaned her head closer to a small device on the door and it glow blue before it started beeping as it scan her face causing it to made a beeping sound.

Five could feel that he began sweating more and his body also started itching more and more.

But the alarm said a buzzing sound "We're screwed" Lila said "Unauthorized access" they heard an artificial female voice in the speakers said.

"Oh, shit" Five mumbled under his breath while he began to sweat like crazy as he continuing to scratch his neck.

"Jesus. You're sweating like a dodgy shrimp on ice" Lila said as she looked at Five and noticed how much he was sweating.

Five let out a small fart which 'cause him to realize something.

He scratch his chest before he walked towards the scanner by the door and it began scanning his face making the device whirs.

When it was done, the device said a chimes sound "Access granted" a voice said over the speaker and the door unlocked.

"I guess you're essential personnel" Lila said as the door opened.

When the door slid opened they looked at the room.

The bunker was a tilted white room with black floor and it didn't seem destroyed like the rest of The Commission, it seems new.

The whole room was empty and white.

On the white rug stood a glass coffee table and two red rounds chairs next to it. A teapot and others sort of glass was standing on the table.

"Wow" Lila said before she entered the bunker first.

Five scratched his neck as he enter, but as soon as he enter, the sweating and itching stopped causing him to have a confused look on his face as he was looking at the door that slid closed.

Lila chuckled as she looked around before she walked over to some kind of metal machine that was standing in the middle of the room.

The machines look like containers that could fit a human inside as a ventilator was hissing.

Lila looked through the glass on the container to see an elderly man in his underwear with his head protruding from the case was visible to her when she looked at the case to see what was inside.

The container served as the man's artificial life support system that was keeping him alive.

"That's him, huh?" Five said as he lay the book on a table "The founder" he said before he walked closer to the machine.

"Looks like tinned beef. I was expecting more man and less...can" Lila said as she patted the container.

As Five came closer to the machine, his eyes widened when he looked at the man's face "It's can't be" he said as he realized who it was.

"What's wrong?" Lila asked "It's me" he said.

There was a few seconds of silence before Lila started laughing hysterically "No way. This whole time you've been complaining about the Commission, and you're the one who founded it. Classic" she said "If I did, I have no memory of it" Five said and Lila laughed again "So here I was thinking you were a maverick, but you're a company man, down to the bone. I mean you..." she said and let out another laugh.

"You literally cannot breathe without this place" she said "Something's not right. I don't have paradox psychosis. I could feel it outside but in here" Five said as he looked at the door before looking around confused while wondering about it "It's...nothing" he said.

"Never were too bright, were we?" a raspy voice said and the two looked down to see the older Five with his eyes opened.

"The operations bunker is paradox-proof" old Five said before he strain to inhale "I constructed it as a panic room in case of a collapse in the time continuum, in this room, all permutations of yourself can exist" old Five said. 

A part of teen Five couldn't help but think, for a moment that he was powering the entire place. His power had to do with space and time, so it wasn't a long shot.

"You must be here because of a...Kugelblitz" old Five said, not answering the question "Is that like a cheese blintz?" Lila asked "It's German for 'Ball of lighting' It's an extra kinky kind of black hole" Five said.

"The kind that can suck up entire timelines" Lila said "Bingo" old Five said with a nod "So, how do we fix it?" Five asked and old Five let out a raspy chuckled before coughing.

It was hard for Five to see his future self in a positions like that.

"You don't" old Five answered "If you created all of this, then you must have created a solution" Five said annoyed and old Five let out a wheezing noise before he coughed and whimpered.

"All that will be left is...oblivion" old Five said before he coughed and inhaled "Oblivion? What do you mean?" Lila asked as she put her hands on the machine.

But then the machine opened, making old Five's body to roll out, and as he rolled out, they saw his whole body. He was missing half of his left arm and he was so skinny that you could see his ribs.

"This is what you have coming" old Five said "Listen to me, you ass" Five said and walked closer "I just spent the last 20 days running around saving the world from apocalypse, only to keep trying to save the world. Now I am stuck in this pubescent body, my hormones are raging, and all I wanna do go out and buy a 1970s Corvette Stingray. And then I wanna have some alone time with my beautiful and amazing girlfriend and make her happy. Marry her. Give her that life she want" Five said aggressive.

Lila could see that older Five began to show signs of fear towards his younger self "Take it easy on him, Five" Lila said "Lila, this is between me and myself, so stay out of it" Five said as he turned to her "Thank you" he said before he turned to look back at his old self.

"Now, this Kugelblitz, it is not some tiny leak that we can simply fix by patching a couple of pinholes. It is a giant trash compactor which is grinding up univers and consuming it whole. And it's going to take my girlfriend with it if we don't try and stop it. So tell me how you stop it!" Five said loudly and more aggressive and the older Five was scared at his other self.

Five had realized the patteren. Because he took you with him he changed the timeline, he just never thought that it would change so much that your life didn't just changed, but everything else did.

It's unraveling, changing pieces of time that shouldn't have bene messed with that resulted everything falling apart, being torn apart. The timeline needs balance just because he took you with him, it changed it so much that this happen, plus him and his siblings not being born, is too much for the universe, that it created the Kugelblitz. And it might take you, and Five don't know if you're lucky a second time. He knew that everything added up. Anomalies take out anomalies. One thing was clearer than anything else.

Your existence was in danger.

There was no stopping the rage that filled up Five. He hadn't felt it before because he believed there to be a solution to your situation, but now with his new profound knowledge, he did not accept that there wasn't one.

He have told you and himself that he was not gonna lose you a second time.

He wasn't going to fucking do it.

"Whatever you do..." old Five said and the heart monitor started beeping causing older Five to get choking "Don't save the world" old Five said as the heart monitor started beeping rapidly and old Five closed his eyes before the machine that was keeping him alive powered down.

"What do you mean, don't save--Five" Five yelled out his name while the electricity powered down.

"How do I fix this?" Five asked and Lila put two of her fingers by old Five's neck "He's dead, Five" she said and Five started panting as he looked hopeless and helplessly at his future self's dead body.

Five inhaled sharply before closing his eyes as he took a deep breath, trying his best to hold in his tears.

"Can I have the room?" he said in a low voice. He was scared, shock and confused and this time, he didn't know what to do.

"Er...I don't think I should leave you two alone" Lila said "Lila, I need the room" he said and she nodded before he watched her leave the room.

Five wanted to cry and he really wish you were here with him, he miss your touch, your hug, your support and you trying to tear him up.

Five blinked away the tears in his eyes as he chewed his lower lip in an effort to prevent himself from crying. He wanted to cry, for the past 20 days of trying to save the world, he was tired. He just wanted to fix this, want to retire with you by his side, the woman he love but it seems that he wouldn't be get any of that.

"Son of a bitch" Five whispered as he looked at his older self and that's when he noticed a tattoo on older Five's skin right between the chests.

"The hell" Five said as he looked at the tattoo before he pulled up his pocket knife and began cutting of the part of the skin that the tattoo was on. He knew that it must be important or mean something since older Five had it tattoo on his skin.

Viktor was walking down the hall when he saw Harlan in hallway "Harlan, you need to stay in your room" he said as he walked up to him and Harlan turned around with an angry look on his face "What's wrong?" Viktor asked and Harlan lifted up some newspaper with the siblings' mothers on "Why do you have these?" he asked before he walked closer to Viktor "Huh? Why?" he asked "Do you know them?" Viktor asked.

Harlan then grabbed Viktor's shoulder causing Viktor to let out a gasp and Harlan a grunt as they both started glowing and Viktor saw that when Sissy died at the hospital, Harlan cried out in pain making him lose control and as he did that, all the siblings' mothers died of a sudden cerebral hemorrhage.

Viktor gasped as he pulled away before both him and Harlan powered down.

Viktor's breath was shivering as he looked at Harlan "It was you? You killed our mothers? You caused all this?" Viktor said with tears in his eyes.

Harlan turned around before he walked down the hallway towards his room.

"How do you know our mothers? What did you do to them?" Viktor asked as he was walking after Harlan.

"Taps. I need my tapes" Harlan said as he opened the door to his room "Hey. I'm talking to you" Viktor said as they enter Harlan's room "No!" Harlan said before he began straining.

Viktor then ran over and closed the briefcase with the taps in. "No. Not until you tell me the truth" he said at he was looking at Harlan "I could tear you to atoms" Harlan said "Try it" Viktor said and Harlan started powering up before Viktor did the same.

Glass started shatters as both Viktor and Harlan powered more up making the whole place shake.

When the powers hit each other, both Harlan and Viktor was knock backwards before they both hit a wall making them let out a groan.

Both of them was panting as they both sat up "Why?" Viktor asked him "It was an accident" Harlan said "27 dead women is not an accident" Viktor said "You're supposed to understand. Mom--" "Don't bring Sissy into this" Viktor said, cutting Harlan off "She swore you'd come back to us. Make things right again. So I waited for years. You never did. And on the day she died...I felt you again. Here" Harlan said as his voice was breaking and he pointed on his head "And I reached out. It wasn't you" he said "It was our mothers. You connected to them" Viktor said "They were terrified about something growing in them. I...I could feel their pain. Their screams so loud, like a storm in my head tearing me apart. I tried to break the connection. I...I...I couldn't. It was too late. I pushed back" Harlan said before he sighed and a tear felled from Viktor's eyes.

"After that, I just hid myself away. Just to be safe. Until now" Harlan said and let out another sighed.

Harlan then grabbed his briefcase before he pulled it closer to him and wrapped his arms around it, pressing it against his chest.

"I'm not a fool, Viktor. I always knew my life was gonna be hard, but...never like this. Never gonna hurt anyone. Ever. That part's not me. That's--" "That's me" Viktor said, cutting Harlan off "That's kinda my thing. I've hurt a lot of people with my power. And I am just so sorry you were one of them" Viktor said and sighed.

"I need to tell your family what I did to them" Harlan said and was about to get up but Viktor stopped him "No. No. Harlan, what you did had bigger consequences, and people I love got hurt. So we have to be very careful how we tell them" he said "Consequences? Like what?" Harlan asked.

You walked down to the lobby to see Luther "Hey Luther" you said "Hey" Luther said "So you have changed team" you said as you looked at Luther's sparrow jacket "It's not like that" he said "You don't need to say anything, Sloane mean a lot to you. I can see you love her. And I understand. I mean look at me, both Five and I tempted with not just fate but with the timeline, because we couldn't be without each other, that short time I have know your brother, he have made me need him more than I ever needed anybody, more that I could imagine I would need someone, so much that I couldn't imagine a life without him" you said "I think Five feels the same" Luther said "I hope so" you said.

"He does, I have never seeing Five looks at someone like the way he is looking at you, not even the doll, he kept walking around with. So you must be so important to him, I will say he love you" he said "Well, I love him too, but I'm a little scared that he wouldn't say it back and I will scare him off, since we have just started dating" you said.

"Well, I'm glad you are together, 'cause it seems like you are the only one that can handle him and the only one that can put up with him and holding him in a short leash" he said and you chuckled.   

Then Viktor walked out of the elevator "Hey. You two seen Allison?" Viktor asked and he looked at you and Luther.

"What the hell happened?" Luther asked as he saw the cut on Viktor's cheek "Oh my God, Viktor are you okay?" you asked "It's, uh...It's not as bad as it looks" Viktor said "It look as if you're lucky to be upright. Did Harlan do that?" Luther asked "We just got in a disagreement" Viktor said "About what?" Luther asked "It doesn't matter" Viktor said.

"So I just checked the perimeter. We're good" Diego said as he walked up to them while he was flipping his knife in his hand "Now, we're gonna have to take turns" he said to the three of you.

But then Luther let out a gasp and grabbed Diego's shoulder, turning him around to see a wound on the back of his neck "Oh my God! What happened to you? Was it Harlan?" Luther asked  "What?" Diego asked "The Sparrows are right. He shouldn't be here. He's dangerous" Luther said "He's only dangerous because I made him that way. This is my problem, and I appreciate your concern, but I'm gonna figure it out. I'm gonna fix it" Viktor said.

"What's going on?" Allison asked as she walked over to them "Oh my God. He got you too?" Luther asked as he saw a cut on Allison's lip.

Allison looked at Viktor and saw his cut "You okay?" she asked "Great. You?" Viktor asked "Never better" she answered.

Then suddenly a blue portal appeared next to you and you all gasp and jumped back when Five and Lila came through it and they hit a large pieces of wooden furniture, breaking it, before landing painfully on the floor with a grunt as the portal closed.

Lila was panting while Five let out a groan.

"Shit" Five said as the two grunted "Shoo" Lila said as she pushed Five away from her.

"Where have you been?" Viktor asked "Facing my mortality, Viktor. I don't recommend it" Five answered as he stood up like he was drunk.

"We've been looking for this!" Allison said as she pointed on the briefcase before she grabbed the briefcase "Well, look no further. That's the last one on Earth" Five said as the briefcase began smoking "Or was the last one" he said and Allison scoffed as she threw it onto the floor before walking angry over to sit on the staircase while Five crouched down to look at the briefcase "Yeah, that's toast" he said as he looked at the briefcase.

"Oh shit. All right" Five said before standing up and looked at you.

"Hey" he walked over to you "You okay?" he asked. But instead of answering him, you attacked him with a hug "Woah there" he flinched.

Five rested his hands on your waist as you pulled away from him.

His eyes scanned over your face, to make sure that you were not hurt or in pain. But he could see how tired you look.

He pushed your hair behind your ear and moved his hand to your cheek, brushing his thumb over your cheek.  

"You alright?" he asked "I'm fine. I'm just glad you are back" you said and he smiled before he leaned his forehead against yours and brushed the tip of his nose against yours "I have missed you" he said "I have missed you too" you said as you pressed your foreheads more against each other.

After spending 24 hours away from him, experience pain and facing an almost death experience again, you had missed him, and both you and Five had not felt whole without each other.

But as soon as you touch each other like that, it was like two magnets finally being put together, two puzzle pieces.

"That took you some time" you said "Well, at least they have being helpful, what have you done?" Allison asked as she glanced at you.

"Y/n has been very helpful more helpful in the last 24 hours than any of you have been our entire live" Diego said "I wouldn't call Y/n dying 'help'" Luther said which cause Five to widened his eyes before he pulled away "What?" he looked from Luther to you as Diego looked at Luther "Were we not supposed to tell him that?" Luther asked "NO" you, Diego and Viktor said out loud.

"Sorry, my bad" Luther said.

Five looked at you "I didn't die" you said "Yeah you did. Diego had to do CPR" Luther said "DAMN LUTHER, YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHEN TO SHUT UP!" Diego shouted at him. "If is someone's fault is Harlan, Y/n was fine until he attacked" Luther said "If you were not too busy making love eyes at the enemy then you would have notice that Y/n had her brain fried by an electric shock like the rest of us" Diego said.

Then Lila walked over to Diego before she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Five then looked at you "You okay?" he asked "I'm better now you are here and I have something I want to tell you" you said "Later okay" he said.

"Is everything okay?" you asked as you notice the expression on his face "Promise me something" he said "Anything" you said "Don't let me get my arm cut off" he said and you chuckled "I promise" you said with a small nod.

"What took you so long?" you asked "Lila and I went to The Commission to fount it all being in ruins" Five said "Shit, so this paradox had effecting places even out of time" you said "Long story short. We met an 100-year-old version of me. It turns out that I created The Commission and older me told me that all there would be left is oblivion and not to save the world" Five said and your eyes widened. 

"As much as I would like to talk with you. We have an enormous problem" he said "Oh God. What did we bring with us this time?" you asked "A Kugelblitz" he said "I know what that is, I read about you. You are kidding me right?" you asked and he shook his head "Wish I was" he said.

You knew what the kugelblitz was, bit was a black hole collapsing on itself, ones that could tear an entire existences from their realities, taking people, animals, any living being until there was nothing left. It was like a restart.

"What else?" you asked "I wish I could ask you if you want to hear the bad news or good news first, but I'm afraid that I can't give you that" he said "How badly is it?" you asked "Long story short, we brought us the worst paradox we could cause" he said "Please tell me you are joking" you said "I wish I was" he said "Oh God" you said "I found my 100-year-old self in the Commission. And he both told me not to save the world" he said before he with a quiet voice so the others couldn't hear, he started telling you everything.

"So you created The Commission? You are the found? You of all people?" you asked and he nodded.

"But it kinda makes sense since your ability is litterally to teleport in time and space" you said "Doesn't help our situation Love" he said "If it helps, it doesn't change my feelings towards you" you said and he smiled and he smiled before kissing you.

You smiled as you sunk deeper into the kiss while wrapping your arms around his neck while he put his arms around your waist as he pulled you closer.

You kissed like you haven't seen each other for months. And it have felt like that. 

"Hey" Diego said as Lila pulled away "You're happy to see me. What's wrong?" he asked "Turns out there's less time to hold grudges than I had planned. You're off the hook" she said before she looked around "Hey, where's Stan?" she asked.

"Excuse me. One second" Luther said as he grabbed Diego and pulled hin away from Lila "Yeah?" Diego asked "Did you and Allison get into some kinda fight last night?" Luther asked "Hell yes. We kicked some serious ass last night" Diego said "What the hell's gotten into this family" Luther said "I don't know, but it's awesome. Swear to God, I've never seen her do things like she did yesterday. She was brutal. It's fine. You know, just needed to blow some steam off. I helped. She's good" Diego said "Oh, yeah. Real good" Luther said.

"Don't worry, we are going figure out a way to stop this" you said to Five and he nodded before he looked over at Diego and Luther.

"Hey, Chatty Cathys, quite the chitchat, all right?" Five said to Diego and Luther "I'm calling a family meeting here" he said.

Lila was about to walk away but then Diego grabbed her arm "Ah, ah, ah. That means you too" he told her.

You were about to walk away but then Five grabbed your arm "That's mean you too, Darling" he said "Are you sure?" you asked "How many times do I have to tell you, you're a part of the family now and you always will be" he said and you smiled as you looked at him which 'cause Allison to glanced angry at you and Five, feeling envious of the two of you. It was not fair that Five had you and she had nothing. 

She should have done something to you while she had the chance, then maybe Five would be more focus or he would know the pain Allison is feeling right now, but maybe she will get the chance later, she just need you away from Five and the others, she needs you alone.

"Where's Klaus?" Five asked as he looked around and Diego turned his head so he Stan walking towards the elevator with cleaning supplies in his hands.

"I'll be right back" Diego said before he followed after Stan "Don't leave me with your--" Lila said but she was cut off when Diego just left "Dieg--Lost another. Great" Five said as Diego walked away.

"Spit it out, Five" Allison said angry as she glared intensely at Five.

Five put his hand in his pockets as he smiled at her "Oh, well, since you asked so nicely, sister mine, our little paradox brought forth a freaking Kugelblitz" he said "What the hell is a Kugelblitz?" Viktor asked "Isn't it like a black hole or something?" you asked "Yeah" Five said.

"It's German for 'Ball of lighting' I have read about it once, it's like a black hole and is not good. It's like a black hole collapsing on itself, ones that could tear an entire existences from their realities, taking people, animals, any living being until there was nothing left. It is like a restart" you said.

You were right, but this time you were hoping that you wouldn't be, but you always was. The Kugelblitz was a result of an anomaly as the universe tried to correct itself, but there was still one out there that pissed it off.

You were one of the reason it was here, because of Five taken you with him meant that you never got to live your life you were supposed to, and apparently that changed a lot in the timeline and now with Five and his siblings never being born, together that created the Kugelblitz.

You were actually surprise that you had such a big effecting on the timeline, but maybe it was not wrong, everyone and everything had an effecting on the timeline, but that also mean that the butterfly effect is not wrong. But you still didn't understand why the way your dad died didn't effect the timeline.

"We really did tempt with fate" Five looked at you "Not just fate, the whole universe" he said.
