CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE: SCHOCKWAVE

You stopped the car next to a large field filled with cows. Five turned the radio up and he took off his vest before he stepped out of the car while you took off his hat "That hat suit you" he said "I know" you said as you put the hat on the seat before getting out while Five put some glasses on.

A country song was playing on the radio as Five sitting in the front seat with glasses on while looking at the map over Pennsylvania.

"Five?" you asked "Yeah" he said "What do you want to do after that. We have so much time now. Our bodies are rest so we have another, what? Sixty plus years more together? Come to think of it, if we do end up living another sixty or so years, then we have being together for sixty years. What do you want to do with that time?" you asked.

Five actually started thinking about that. He never actually thought about it like that. You and him had years that so many would love to relive. And now you both could, of course the world only saw two teenagers who are madly in love and technically you and Five would need new identities and such. You both had a fresh start.

"I don't know. As long as I have you, I don't care what we do. As long as we are living the life together" he said and you smiled.

"Five" you said again "Yeah, Love" he said "I know that maybe another me exist out there, just like I know that another you do" you said and he nodded "I don't know how you'll see me, other me, when you do" you said "I'm not going to change my mind on you from another version of living a different life. I know that both of us changed the course of our lives there. You are my girlfriend. I'm with you. No one else, not even Y/n 2.1 or whatever she is" he said and you chuckled "You are my only Y/n" he said and you smiled "And you are my only Five" you said and he smiled.

"I just can't help but feel like I'll be judged because of the life choices she made" you said "You won't" he said when he said that it was finale. You wouldn't be judged. Not by him. Not by your siblings. Not by yourself. He'd make sure of it.

You had lost so much in your life. You'd make sure you'd never lose Five.

"Do you think you would have looked at me in the other timeline?" he asked "100%. 'Cause I think a part of me always had a thing for you, I mean that hair, the eyes, that voice, smile, laugh. I would definitely have found you attached. Your personality is what really caught my attention as long as you weren't mean sarcastic with me. Even then I was too sensitive for that" you said and he smiled.

"Would you have look for me?" you asked "Of course. We are tied together, my heart is being pulled towards you, my heart is not whole without you. No matter what timeline or universe we're in. I would always look for you. Never doubt that" he said and you smiled.

"So, I assumed that the three of us will continue the road trip we planned when Klaus had met this mother" Five said. 

"The best thing that have ever happen to me, has being raising you" 

"Y/n/n?" Five asked, making you snapped out of your thoughts before you turned your head to look at him "What did you say?" you asked "That we will continue with the road trip after Klaus has met his mother" he said.

"What place do you want to see?" you asked "I was about to ask you" he said "Well, I always enjoy looking over a vive with forest and with some mountain, and the forest are covering the mountains. So I would like to see Pine Creek Gorge. I would like to take a walk in Ricketts Glen State Park. I would like to take a trip in the Millersburg Ferry. I would like to vist Gettysburg National Military Park, Presque Isle State Park and Ohiopyle State Park" you answered "How do you know the name of those place?" he asked "Well, you know I always wanted to see the world. So I made a liste over the places I wanted to see the most and then I would put a notch next the name over that place when I have visited them. And since we are in Pennsylvania. I look through the list and saw those places writing on it. I also would love to visit France, Las Vegas, Los Angeles. Hawaii, Rome. London, Buenos Aries in Argentina, New York. New Zealand, Australia, San Francisco, East Tennessee, Colorado, Coron in Philippines and I would love to see The Grand Canyon and Machu Picchu in Peru" you said before taking a deep breath "And that is just small part of the list. But I would love to visit them all" you said "Well, don't worry, Love. I'll make sure everything on that checklist is ticked and you are going to fulfill and put notches next to every places on that list" he said.

"Is a pretty long list" you said "Then is good we have all the time in the world" he said before he grabbed his pen.

"And don't worry, I will make sure that we will have a date on each of those places on your list, cause I do owe you some dates. I am sure that some of those places will be perfect with a picnic date" he said before he drew a circle around Pine Creek Gorge, Ricketts Glen State Park, Millersburg Ferry, Gettysburg National Military Park, Presque Isle State Park and Ohiopyle State Park on the Pennsylvania map.

"I am going to take you to the most romantic places in the world. Like, eating at the Santorini, Greece, the sun setting over the ocean as our view. But the place I want to vist the most, is Paris, standing at the top of the Eiffel tower, watching the stars" he said "Why do you want to vist Paris the most?" you asked "Cause I have read that is it the most romantic place in the world and I want to see if that true. And then I want us to vist Amalfi Coast and Venice. See the Niagara Falls, vist Iceland and see The northern light. Having dinner at Clos Maggiore, Ambrosia Restaurant in Santorini and Nautika Restaurant" he said and you looked at him "But right now, I have some romantic restaurants in Pennsylvania in mind, where we can have dinner just the two of us. Like the R2L restaurant, and the Monterey Bay Fish Grotto restaurant" he said "You know that a simple date, like watching a movie or just being home, is enough for me, you don't have to go all that romantic " you said "Yes I do, cause you deserve the best of the best. I want to built a life with you" he said "I want to built that life with you too" you said and you looked at each other with a smile.

"How do you know about those places anyway?" you asked and he pulled out a cover of a brochure where the two restaurants he wanted you and him to have your dates on the map had a red circle around them

 "This is the only thing I could find. I was in a hurry and I wanted to be the one asking you out for our first date. So the two of us tonight" he said and you chuckled "Why so fast?" you asked "Because you never know how much time we have left and I want to also make this date is romantic beside we never went on a date" he said as he turned to face you and you smiled as you walked over to him before you grabbed his hands, standing between his legs.

"Well, as long as I am with you, I don't care where we are, as long as we are together" you said "I just want to sit in my car with you by my side while we drink our favorite drinks and stare at the night sky. Telling each other stories, kissing under the stars at the top of the hill. The whole view of the city right in front of us. We can be there for hours, we could be anywhere for all I care. Being in your presence, seeing you smile and enjoying time with you is all I could ever want" he said and you smiled to each other.

"But most of all, no matter where we would go, we will find a rooftop and stare up at the stars" he said and you smiled.

"You know maybe we could move to a farm" Five suddenly suggested "Me living on a farm?" you asked as you turned your head to look at him "I can see myself living on a farm" you said.

"How do you want our house to look like?" he asked "I want a white house with blue shutters and room overlooking in the river, so I can paint" you said "Anything else?" he asked "Yeah. I want a big old porch that can rap the entire house" you said "Aww" he said "We can drink tea or coffee and watch the sun go down" you said Five smiled as he also picture it in his mind, that was the life he wanted to live with you and the same with you.

You both smiled as you picture that life in your mind.

"Okay. I love that. I will make sure that happens" he said "You promise?" you asked "Mm-hmm. I promise. Always. Anything with you, I'll do. We can finally have a life together. A second lifetime" he said "I'd love that" you said with a nod and he smiled.

 "Can I say how smart and handsome you look with those glasses on" you said and he looked at you "You do" he said and you nodded "I do" you said as he got up.

"You know what, I actually love the retirement you" you said "You do" he said "Yeah, a lot" you nodded.

"You know before we met, I had given up on finding a happy ever after. I thought I must not deserve it, after everything I'd been through. I wasn't worthy of that, you've shown me just how wrong I was. I was just waiting for you. You are the only one that makes my heart skip a beat with just one glance. I didn't even believe in that saying until I met you. But with you I've found a connection that defies logic and makes my heart believe in miracles. You are my favorite 'how did I get so lucky' moment. You're not just the best thing ever happened to me, you're the reason I believe in serendipity" he said and you smiled.

"I'm glad that I found out my real age and the truth about me" you said "And why is that?" he asked "'Cause then our relationship wouldn't feel or be gross and wrong" you said and he chuckled.

When Five first began having feeling for you, he felt angry at himself, like he could never truly love you. He didn't deserve it or did he ever believe that he could have it. Now, as an almost 38 year old man, he couldn't imagine not having you. And when he didn't, it was hell on earth. But now he did and he would make sure that he would never lose you again.

Five kept his eyes on you with his heat beating fast and you could feel him melting in your touch.

This guy who acted all tough and a jerk to others, yet when he is around you, he acted more like a lost child or a lost puppy who wants all your love.

You didn't see a stubborn heartless cold irresponsible person, you saw a broken but handsome, kind and soft guy that need to feel loved and that he is enough.

You might have falling in love first, but Five felled harder.

You think that it was funny, that Five could be an asshole to others, but to you, he was sweet and kind, he was the guy that stole your heart, just like you stole his.

You leaned into Five, his arms wrapped around your waist. Five began to hum out loud as you sang along to a song that was playing in the radio.

You then leaned your face closer so your noses were brushing against each other.

The two of you then shared a kiss.

But then a cow push you aside which cause your body to jolted to the side.

Both you and Five chuckled "Hey little guy" you said before petting the cow.

"I think I will go out and pet the cows, never done that before" you said "Yeah, then I will look more on the map" he said and you turned around before walking farther out on the field.

Luther had a sparrow jacket on as him and Sloane was in the gym running next to each other on a treadmill each.

"This place is incredible!" he said with a smile "We had the old lounge taken out and had this put in" Sloane said as she smiled "You know, I thought the home theater and the Zen garden were impressive, but this is just next-level" he said before they both turned off the treadmills.

"You know, I always wanted the Umbrella Academy to be like this" he said as he walk off the treadmill "You guys actually do stuff together!" he said "You don't?" she asked as they both walked over to a small table where some water, glasses and white rags were.

"Uh...Nah, no really" he said as they both took a glass before they filled it with water.

"So, our brother died when we were kids. Number Six. Our Ben" he said "Oh, I'm so sorry" she said as she was holding her glass while looking at him.

"Yeah, and after that, nobody really gave a shit. Everyone had their own agenda, and it's like pulling teeth to get anybody to actually care" he said as they walked over to the large white table.

"And then, I guess after a while, I stopped caring myself" he said as they sat down on the same side in front of each other and Sloane took a sip of her water.

"You know, about training, the missions..." he said and she nodded as she put down her glass on the table "About...being Number One" he said before he scoffs "You're not what I was expecting" she said with a smile "I'm not?" he asked confused "No" she said with a smile as she shook her head "You're actually really sweet" she said and Luther let out a soft exhale before a smile appeared on his face.

Sloane looked up at the camera to see it moved to the right, filming the other side of the gym, so she leaned forward towards Luther a bit "If I could, I'd get out of here in a heartbeat" she said and he leaned towards her too "Why can't you?" he asked.

"This house, it's all I've ever know my entire life. And I know there are better places out there in the world, and one day, I want to see them all" she said with a smile "Then why don't you just go?" he asked "Why don't you?" she asked "Fair point" he said with a nod.

"You know, I, uh...I spent a little time on the moon" he said with a shy smile, like he was nervous of what she would say.

"What? This is so cool!" she said with a smile and in voice like she actually think it was cool causing Luther's eyes to widened "You think so?" he asked "Yeah! The moon?" she said "My God. No one ever thinks that's cool" he said "Yes!" she said as they both let out a laugh.

"The moon, yeah!" he said with a big smile on his face. Sloane was the first one he have ever met who actually think that it was cool.

Sloane then noticed the camera turning back to film them, so her face quickly changed into a seriously look.

"So, tell me a little bit more about that family of yours before they decide to come and rescue you. Where are you guys staying anyway?" she asked "Oh, just some dumpy hotel downtown. Uh, the Hotel--" he said but stopped himself.

"You're trying to honey trap me" he said "No, no, no" she said, shaking her head "No, of course. Luther, you're so stupid! Oh, wow! You really think the moon is cool" he said "Luther, I wasn't--" "Duh!" he said, cutting her off "I'm such--"

But then they heard a crow caws before flying into the gym and Luther turned around to see Fei behind him "Ben would like a word. Go get cleaned up" she said.

Luther let out a sigh before he got up "Luther, I wasn't trying--" "Sloane" Fei said, cutting her off and she looked at her as Luther walked past Fei.

Sloane let out a sigh before she got up and walked over to the huge windows.

Five was sitting with his legs up and was looking at the map while he started singing to the music that was playing in the radio.

Then the sound of energy pulsing and distressed mooing was heard before he suddenly felt a shockwave of energy surging all around and it was like an energy wave hit the car making it shake a bit causing him to jolted a bit to the side.

"What is...?" he sked as he looked out of the field to see you standing frozen as you were looking out on the field where the cows that was there before were gone.

'Please, don't let anything happen to her' Five said inside his head.

He blinked over to you before he placed a hand on your shoulder, afraid that something had happen to you.

When you felt a hand on your shoulder you quickly jump a bit before you turned around, putting yourself in a fighting position.

Five's eyes found yours, watching your expression soften almost instantly as you saw your boyfriend in front of you.

"Easy, it's just me, Five Hargreeves, your boyfriend, the Jumpy Guy" he said and you took a deep breath "I'm sorry" you said "Don't be, you don't need to apologies, I was the one that scared you. I was so worried that something have happen to you" he said before he scanned you up and down.

"You okay?" he asked "I don't know. It was like a shock wave hit me and I saw all the crows suddenly disappear. Where did they go?" you asked "I have no idea" he answered before he looked out on the field again "Oh, can't I get one fucking day off?" he said as he let out a sigh.

"It looks like we're gonna have to postpone our date for a bit, Love" he said "What's wrong?" you asked "I don't know. But I don't think it's good" he said.
