CHAPTER THIRTEEN: THE TRUTH

Then suddenly the door behind Five, Diego and you opened causing you all to look at the door to see Reginald enter the room quickly with a notebook in his hand.

Reginald walked past Five to the other side of the table.

He then sat down and the others all took a seat at the table.

You were about to walk over to another table but then Five grabbed your arm which caused you to turn to him "What?" you asked "You can sit next to me, you are kinda part of this, beside I can focus more when you are near me" he said as he looked at you "Please sit" he said "Fine" you said before you took a seat next to Five.

"Not only have you burglarized my lab" Reginald said as he fixed the end of his blazer and shirt sleeves "Set my chimp loose, conned your way into Mexican consulate, repeatedly stalked and attacked me, but you have, on numerous occasions, called me..." he said but got cut off when Klaus moved his chair that was between Reginald and Diego, drawing everyone's attention.

Klaus sat down as he grunted softly before he looked at Reginald "Hey, Pop. How's it hanging?" he asked as he was holding a drink in his hand.

"....'Dad'" Reginald finished glancing at Klaus while Five glanced between Klaus and Reginald "My reconnaissance tells me you're not CIA, not KGB, certainly not MI5, so...who are you?" Reginald asked.

Everyone but you wanted to say something but didn't knew how to say it.

"We're your children" Five started causing Reginald to look at him "Except me. I actually don't even know why I'm sitting here" you said "'Cause you are part of this" Five said as he looked at you before he looked back at his dad.

"We're from the future. In 1989, you adopted us all and trained us to fight against the end of the world" he said and Reginald glanced at each of the siblings "Called us the Umbrella Academy" Five said.

You were completely shocked at what Five just said.

"Why on earth would I adopt six--" "Seven" Allison said, cutting Reginald off "One of us isn't here" she said "Dead. One of us is dead" Diego said.

"Yeah, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba" Klaus said as he was moving his fingers together while he put his hand up before he turned around in his chair "Enough of that now" Klaus said to the air behind him causing Reginald to look confused at him and Klaus looked at him before he waved for them to continue.

"Regardless, what would possess me to adopt seven ill-mannered malcontent?" Reginald asked "We all have special abilities" Five said as he leaned forward a bit.

"Special? In what sense?" Reginald asked "In the superpower sense" Luther said "Called me old-fashioned, but I'm stickler for a pesky little things called evidence" Reginald said before he looked at the others "Show me" he said.

Allison picked up her glass in front of her before she twisting the straw "Everybody wants to see powers all of a sudden" she said with a scoff.

"We're not circus animals, okay? We're not gonna bounce balls on our noses and clap our hands like seals for your amusement" Luther said.

Then while looking at Allison, Diego grabbed one of his knives before throwing it towards Luther.

The knife made a curved in mid air and flew towards Reginald before it turned, flying past his ear before changing direction again, lodging itself into a pillar making a loud metallic thud.

"Subtle" you said as Klaus looked at the knife while Reginald wrote something down in his notebook causing everyone to lean forward a bit.

"What are you writing?" Diego asked "Probably ways how to fix your aim" you said.

Diego stood up from his chair and he was about to charge at you but Five blinked out of his chair before he appeared in front of Diego, putting his hands on his shoulder, stopping him "Stop. Don't you touch her" he whispered but with a threated tone.

"Now that is interesting" Reginald said as he looked at Five.

"Beside, you are zero for two, young man" Reginald answered, referring to the night where he stabbed Diego, causing Allison to snicker into her glass.

"All right, uh, quick rundown" Five said before he pointed on Luther "Luther: Super strength" he said before he pointed on Klaus "Klaus can commune with the dead" he said before he pointed on Allison "Allison can rumor anyone to do anything" he said as he sat back down on his chair next to you.

"Except she never used it" Diego said as he sat back down on his chair.

Allison looked up before she turned her head to Diego "I heard a rumor you punched yourself in the face" she said and an energy wave travled out of her mouth to Diego, making his eyes to turn white before his fist jerked up, punching himself in the face.

"Aah. Damn it" Diego groaned as he was leaning forward while grabbing his nose while Five let out a smirked as he gestured his hand at Diego while looking at his dad.

"And you?" Reginald asked as he looked at Vanya "Uh, maybe we don't take Vanya for a test run" Luther said "Oh, yeah, that's probably not a good idea" Klaus said while moving his glass in his hand "Yeah" Luther said "It's fine. I can handle it" she said as she grabbed a fork "Handle it? Last time you handled it, you definitely blew up the moon" Allison said.

But Vanya raised her fork to tap it against her glass in front of her "No, Vanya don't" Five said as everyone moved their chair back while telling her to stop as she hit the glass with the fork making a high-pitched tone resonating.

Five was not gonna let you get hurt, especially under his watch, so he immediately blinked over to you.

By reflex, you grabbed his blazer and he brought you both underneath the table, protecting you by having his back twisted towards Vanya as her eyes moved to the fruit basket that was standing in the middle of the table making it explode causing everyone to get fruit on their face and clothes while you let out a small scream as Five brought you closer to him, using his own body as a shield to protect you if now something went wrong.

Everyone let out a sigh as they started wiping the fruit from their clothes and face while Reginald started cleaning his monocle.

"This is my favorite shirt. Wow" Klaus said "Oops" Vanya said with a smile "That's impressive" Luther said while Allison grabbed her glass, switching the small umbrella out with another one.

Five lifted you up before he pulled away, scanning you for a moment, making sure that there was no damaged, his finger skimmed over your cheek.

"You okay?" he asked as his eyes scanned you for a moment "I'm okay, you didn't have to do that" you said "I know" he said "Why did you do it?" you asked "'Cause I couldn't risk losing you" he said and you tilted your head.

Why was he suddenly so protected of you?

It was almost like he cared too much.

The two of you then sat back down on your seats.

"And you?" Reginald asked as he looked at you "Do you claim to be my spawn?" he asked "Uhhh. no, definitely not one of your children and I don't have any special abilities" you said "Then why are you here?" Reginald asked "Good question" you said "She's just a family friend of ours" Klaus said.

"She's a friend" Five said "I'm helping them with all of this, I don't have any superpowers. I'm just ordinary" you said "Not to me" Five mumbled.

"I'm Y/n, nice to meet you Reginald" you said "The pleasure is all mine" Reginald said as he looked a you "You look oddly familiar. Have I seen you somewhere before?" he asked "No, sir. I don't believe so" you said "Elliott Gussman" Reginald said "You know my dad?" you asked "The Dallas town joke" he said which made you lean back in your chair. How could he speak about your father like that?

"Elliott Gussman. Came to me years ago with his theories and signs. He believed he had uncovered something significant, but frankly, his so-called evidence was laughable. He had piles of paperwork and absurd claims, all of which amounted to nothing more than a joke. It was clear he was chasing shadows and ghosts, and the entire town seemed to agree. His theories were meaningless, and his work was, quite frankly useless" Reginald said.

Five glanced at you and he could see that that hurt you and you became upset.

He was about to defend you but then you beat him to it.

"You know what, Reginald? You can sit there and belittle my father all you want, but you have no idea who he really is. He's a good man who has dedicated his life to finding answers and helping people, even if you think it's all a joke. He raised me with more love and respect than anyone else could ever provide. He taught me to stand up for myself and for those I care about. He taught me to be strong even so if I was scared. You're a bad person in many ways, and you don't even see it. You see everyone and everything as tools or obstacles, never as people with feelings or worth. My dad may not fit your narrow view of what's important, but that doesn't make him worthless or his work meaningless. You're the one who's out of touch with reality" you said and Reginald's face looked at you as if he wanted to continue but you weren't done.

"And another thing, calling him a joke? That's pathetic. It shows how small-minded and cruel you really are. My dad has done more good in his life than you ever have or ever will. If you can't see that, it just proves how blind and ignorant you are" you said.

The room fell silent, and you could feel that Five's family was shock. They were speechless, their eyes wide as they looked between you and Reginald. You stood your ground, staring at Reginald with defiance. You'd defended your dad and you knew that no matter what Reginald thought, your dad was far better than the callous men before you.

"Congratulations" Allison looked at you "For what?" you asked "You're probably the first person who wasn't a Hargreeves to actually stand up to him" she said and you let out a smile.

"Impressive" Five said as he gave you a proud smile while looking at you with loving eyes.

"That was...woah....Unexpected" you looked at Five "I didn't knew you had that in you" he said "Well, it seems there is a lot about me you don't know" you said "Well, I would love to learn more about that" you both smiled while looking with puppy loving eyes at each other. 

Both you and Five felt like you were the only people in the room.

"Look, we know that you're involved in a plot to assassinate the president" Diego said as he broke the silent which caused you and Five to blink back to reality.

He stood up, putting his hands on the table "You were recently hospitalized, isn't that correct? You still appear to be suffering from delusions of grandeur and acute paranoia" Reginald said "Am I?" Diego asked before he pulled out the picture they saw on the the tape on the day the president got shot.

"Explain this" he said as he put the picture on the table before pointing at it "That's you. That's two days from now, on the grassy knoll at the exact spot the president's gonna get shot" he said and Reginald picked up the picture to examined it before he looked back at Diego.

"Well...I supposed you've solved it" he said before he handed the picture back to Diego "You've single-handedly unearthed my nefarious plot" he said causing Diego to crack a small smile.

"Is that what you want to hear?" Reginald asked and Diego's face dropped "You fancy yourself a do-gooder? The last good man who will save us from our descent into corruption and conspiracy? This is a fantastic delusion. The sad reality is that you're a desperate man, tragically unaware of his own insignificance, desperately clinging to his own ineffectual reasoning" Reginald said causing Diego to sit down slowly "More succinctly, a man in over his head" Reginald said "You're wr...wrong" Diego said stuttering and everyone was quiet as you all look sad.

Poor Diego, Reginald had just humiliated him.

"Look, forget about the president. We have a catastrophic war coming in five days. We need to figure out how to stop it" Five said "War? Men will always be at war with each other" Reginald said "No, this isn't just some war. We're talking about a doomsday. The end of the world" Five said "Well...you're the special ones, aren't you? Why don't you band together and do something about it?" Reginald said.

Then suddenly Klaus shot his arms up into the air while his body convulsed as he started gasping.

"Is he having a seizure?" Allison asked "Overdosing probably" Diego said, still looking down at the table "Should we do something?" Luther asked as Klaus let out shuddering grunt. "Klaus! Now is not the time. What are you doing?" Five asked him "Klaus, are you okay?" you asked

Klaus then turned to Reginald as he was distorted gurgling "I'm..." he said "Out with it, boy" Reginald said "Ben" Klaus said before he let out a gasp as he fell off the chair and down on the floor, panting and shuddering.

"Well...Thank you for coming" Reginald said as he grabbed his notebook before standing up "I've seen about enough" he said before he turned around and stepped over Klaus "No, I..." Luther said as Reginald kept walking away.

Luther then slammed his fists down on the table before he stood up causing everyone to turn to him. He then ripe his shirt off to revealed his ape like body "Look at what you did to me" Luther said and Reginald looked at him "Look at it!" Luther shouted while Allison tried not to laugh.

"Oh, shit. Why?" Five said as he leaned back back in his chair. He found this extremely difficult to have a civil and grow-up conversation with his father. Maybe he should have just talk to him alone.

Reginald then looked at Five "You in the culottes" he said as he pointed at him and he looked at him "A word, in private?" Reginald said before he turned around "And you can bring the girl if you want" he said as he walked towards the door.

"Come on" Five said "In a minute" you said as Five got up and followed after Reginald.

"Listen. This is probably the only time I'm going to get to talk to you guys when Five isn't here. But I need you to hear this. So just listen. Five cares about all of you, more than you can imagine, and I know that you all think that he hates you, but he doesn't. You are the most important people in the word for him" you said "Except you" Diego said but you ignored him.

"You need to realized that at some point. So please just show him some gratitude and respects" you said before you turned around and walked after Five and Reginald.

"Well, that went well" you said sarcastically to Five "My siblings made it a shit show. As usual. I don't know why I expected them to do this one thing" he annoying "Don't be so hard on them, your dad is giving you another chance to explain yourself, so that's a plus right?" you said but Five didn't answer as he just nodded.

You, Five and Reginald was sitting was by the bar while island music was playing over the speakers.

"I assume you must be wondering why I have requested a moment alone with you?" Reginald asked.

You were sitting next to Five on his right side while Reginald was sitting on his left.

"You seems to be the sensible of the bunch" Reginald said before he looked a you "Even you" he said.

"That's because I'm the oldest and Y/n is more mature than them" Five said.

"Cognac?" Reginald asked you and Five as a guy behind the bar gave you a glass each "Just a smidge" Five said with a small smile "You?" Reginald asked as he looked at you "No, thanks" you shook your head "I'm too young to drink" you said.

"The other night you quoted Homer at me" Reginald said as he was looking at Five "Why?" he asked "You forced us all to learn it as kids. In the original Greek, no less" Five said and Reginald nodded before he poured down some alcohol into his and Five's glass while you poured some water in your glass.

"You know" Reginald looked at you "You seem to look like you know what you're doing and you seem pretty good to have on your side. I hope your boyfriend and his siblings know how lucky they are with having someone like you on their side" Reginald said "Not boyfriend" you said "We are friends" Five said.

"You seems to be a little more than than that. I mean even I can feel the strong and powerful connection and bond between you two and that can help in the future" he said and the two of you glanced at each other "Even someone like me know better than to never underestimate the simple, yet undeniable power of true love" Reginald said before he took a sip of his glass while you and Five glance at each other, both blushing a bit.

"You two are an odd couple but a powerful one. With you two together and by each other side's, maybe you could both think of how to stop the apocalypse and then stop it" Reginald said before he lifted up his glass in a cheering motion and Five nodded as he did the same before the two took a sip.

"Mmm" Five said as he took a sip.

"This world ends in five days if we don't get out of the timeline" Five said "Worlds end. Paleozoic, Jurassic, and so on" Reginald said "We can do something about this one" Five said "Man's greatest flaw: The illusion of control" Reginald said.

"I need your help. All right? You're my last sane option. Otherwise, I gotta made a deal that I really don't want us to made" Five said which cause you to glance at Five, wondering what kind of deal he was talking about.

"We can stop this disaster if Five and his siblings exit the timeline" you said and Reginald nodded, like he gestured for you to continue "Do you know anything about time travel or how to get out of a timline?" you asked "Aren't you from the future? Haven't you done this already?" he asked "No, not exactly. I have lived her my whole life. I was born here. I'm from here. But Five and the others got here by another method" you said.

"What do you know about time travel?" Five asked "In theory?" Reginald asked "In practice" Five said "I know it's akin to descending blindly into the depths of freezing waters and reappearing--" "As an acorn. Yeah" Five said finished his sentence as he remember what Reginald told him that day he ran away.

"I know it as an acorn, I know that, time doesn't stop for mastermind. I will agree on that" you said "What transpired when you tried traveling before?" Reginald asked "I botched it" Five said "How?" Reginald asked "I jumped too far forward, got stuck in the future for 24 years in an apocalypse. Then I jumped too far backwards...except this time I brought my entire family with me" Five said.

"Maybe your appetite is disproportionate to the size of your abilities. Start small. Seconds, not decades" Reginald said "Seconds?" Five asked "Mmm" Reginald said with a nod.

"Look, no offense, but we need a bit more time for what we're trying to accomplish" Five said "So much can change in a matter of seconds. One could overthrow an empire. One can change your life forever. One could take a life. One could save a life, or more lives. One could stop an apocalypse. One could fall in love" Reginald said causing you and Five to take quick glanced at each other before looking back at Reginald.

"An acorn doesn't become an oak overnight" he said "Well, thank you, I think that you have given some valuable information and I think that we can use that" you said and Reginald nodded.

You then got up before walking towards the elevator.

"I was really hoping you had more than that" Five said "I'm sorry I can't be of more help" Reginald said "I'm sorry too. I gave you such a hard time as a kid. I didn't know any better" Five said "No skin off my teeth" Reginald said before he lifted his glass.

"Do you even believe in love?" Five asked his dad "Of course. Are you talking about anyone specifically?" Reginald asked "It doesn't matter" Five said before looking down "Nobody, can love a person like me" he said and Reginald tilted his head "Y/n can never love me" Five said "You don't know her well enough then. You'd be surprised" Reginald said.

Five let out a sigh before he took another sip of his glass.

"Have a good night" Reginald said before he got up and Five got up before walking over to you.

"Well, not the advice I needed" Five said with a sigh.

"Well, that was a disaster. My siblings made a complete fool of themselves and the old man can't help about time-traveling" he said.

"Well, he seems to be a wise old man" you said "I didn't understand anything" he said "You just need to think about it. Rewind time slowly, but only rewind second by second, like turning back at clock, but only with seconds" you said and he nodded even so he didn't understand it all.

As the elevator door opened, Five walk out fast and a little angry.

"Five, can you stop for a second?" you asked as you followed after him "Don't you understand what he just told you" you said "It was nothing useful, nothing!" he shouted at you.

He turned around but then you grab his elbow and turned him around.

"Don't you dear shout at me, I'm fine with sarcasm and without being thanked for the small things I do, but I don't deserve to be shouted at!" you said out loud.

"I don't understand you, why the hell did you gather your family if at the end you decided to do everything alone?" you asked, your voice growing calmer but your eyes still steady, you were not going to go soft on him this time.

"I made this mess, I am going to make it better, none of them turned out to be useful" he looked at you "I'm grateful for the help Y/n, but I don't need it anymore" he said.

"Listen to me. I don't know what guilt trip you signed up for, you better get your shit straight, I don't care how smart you think you are, if you are going to work alone you are just gonna make it worse" your finger poking his torso every now and then to keep it clear that you were giving him a scolding, even if he was twice your age.

"Villains work alone, even Batman went out of his way to get a Robin so he wouldn't be alone, Haven't you already gone 24 years by yourself? Wasn't that enough?" you asked as your eyes show sadness at the realization of how much he must have been traumatized at surviving in a broken world alone.

"I have to do this thing alone, I have no other option" he said "You're wrong there is always an option, if we wait---" "There is not enough time" he cut you off.

"If we wait a little something else might come up, maybe if we do nothing then nothing happens" you said "I'm going Y/n, you can't stop me" he said "You're right I can't" you said.

Five have hope that you would stop him, convince him not to go, not take the Handler's deal to gain a briefcase.

"I'm sorry Y/n" Five turned but you grab his blazer and as you did that something fell out of his blazer.

"What is that?" you bend down to pick it up.

"Y/n---" Five tried to take the file from you but you move it away from him.

"Why is my name writing on this?" you looked at Five but he didn't answer.

You opened it before your eyes widened.

Luther and Diego entered Elliott's apartment.

But as soon as they walk in Luther spotted something on the floor "Blood" he said and pointed on the floor.

The two walked closer and Luther stuck his finger in the blood and held it up to the light "Shit" he said.

"Elliott?" Diego called out but no one answer.

"Diego" Luther called out and he walked over to him.

Elliott was sitting in what look like a dentist chair that was on the top of the stairs facing towards the front of the television store.

He was laying back in the chair with his mouth open. Dried blood was all around the mouth. Blood was splattered across his face from the cuts and some of his teeth was missing.

A clamp hung was clutched out of his mouth and some other type of tool had been lodged down almost halfway down his throat.

A stake knife was stabbed to his heart.

You could see on his body that he have being tortured.

"Holy shit" Diego said and Luther looked behind to see Diego looking over the railing.

Luther walked towards Diego to the word 'ÖGA FÖRÖGA' was witting in blood on the floor.

You were sitting on a bench with your face in your hands while Five was sitting next to you.

"You okay?" he asked after more than 10 minutes of silence.

"Just a lot to take" you remove your hands from your face "Are you sure it's true?" you looked at him and he nodded "Well, it explain a lot of things" you said.

"Do you think that your dad knew?" he asked "No" you shook your head "He would have told me. He have never hid anything from me. But I hope not. I will talk to him tomorrow, tell him what you told me and what I have just read" you said before you looked at him.

"Why didn't you tell me?" you asked "I didn't knew until she gave me that file. I don't know how she knew that I was with you, but The Commission knows everything" he said.

"Were you ever going to tell me?" you asked "I actually didn't know how you would have react, I was scared" he said "It was important, this explain everything. So why didn't you?" you asked.

"I don't know" he sighed.

"I don't want to lose you" he said "What do you mean?" you asked "I'm not from here...you know that I'm not even from 1963" he said "So...you really think you're going to lose me for that?" you asked "Well, since I'm not from 1963...I'm going have to go back to 2019" he said "Then just take me with you" you said "I'm afraid that's not how it work. If I take you with me...who knows what'll happen. For all I know if I take you with me, you could die right there" he said.

"I need you to need me back" tears fell from your eyes, "Why wouldn't you tell me about the this, and why won't you never just let me all the way in?" you sob "I couldn't risk losing you, Y/n. I worried about you all the time when you are not with me. I can't handle see you hurt or in pain. I can't think when I'm not around you, I think about you everyday, all the time. Whenever you leave, I feel a part of me leaving too. Whenever you get yourself in danger, you worry me, all the time. If something happen to you or if I lose you, I don't know what to do with myself" he said.

"Don't forget you have an apocalypse to worry about" you said "No apocalypse will ever stop me from worrying about you and making sure you're safe" he said as he looked back at you.

"All of this. It mean that I'm actually a thirty-four-year old woman in her fifteen-year-old body" you said and he nodded.

You smiled "Are you happy about it?" he asked "I actually am. It explain why my feelings for you never disappeared" you looked at him "There is nothing wrong with our relationship" you said.

Five wanted a relationship with you, now it was not gross or wrong, but he can't, because he was scared of being hurt just like you were but also because he was going to leave soon. Back to his timeline, and he can't take you with him.

"What do you want me to say Y/n?" he got up "That I feel something when I'm with you" he turned around to face you "I'm scared that if I let myself be happy. The world is just going come crashing down, taken my happiness from me and I can't handle that" he said before he looked down.

"I want to be there for you, so you don't go through all of this shit alone anymore" you said as you got up.

"I want this Y/n. But I'm just scared at all of this, but it's like when I'm with you makes everything easier. And I know that I have only know you a very short time, but I have this feeling saying that I have know you longer" he said "I feel the same way" you said.

"But I can't" he took another step back.

"Why are you treating me like that, after all we've been through, the minute you are with me and the other you don't talk to me or even look at me, what is wrong, I thought we had something" you said "We have something, I feel it too, but what do you want me to say?" he asked as he turned around "I want to know why do you keeping pushing me away. Why do you always push me away when I'm just trying to help?" you asked "Because I don't need your help, Y/n! I've been doing this alone for longer than you can imagine" he said "But you don't have to be alone anymore. Why can't you see that?" you asked "God damn it Y/n! I knew that dragging you into this mess was a mistake...you don't fit in here!" he said.

You look at him with teary eyes "If that's...how you feel" you said "Come on Y/n, I didn't mean it like that" he said "Then how did you mean it? What is wrong with you? Why are you like this, you keep pushing me away!" you shouted.

"'CAUSE I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU AND THAT'S WHAT SCARES ME!" he shouted and your eyes widened.

"It scares me because I have being through so much, so you're right, I have been pushing you away and I didn't understand WHY until now. And I can't go through that. I can't allow myself to fall for you 'cause I can't lose you. It would hurt too much, 'cause I'm in love with you and you already mean so much to me" he said before he took a deep breath.

"So do you now understand why, I'm scared that if I let myself be fully happy for even one more moment, the world just gonna come crashing down. Taken it away from me. And I don't know if I can survive that, therefore is for the best that I don't let out my feelings and I only listen to my head and not my heart. I am doing this to protect you. You will get hurt, therefore I can't risk putting you in that kind of danger" he said "I know, but I don't care, even if it to protect me, it's my choice what I risk and for who" you said "I'm sorry, I just can't, it's for the best. I'm destined to be alone" he turned around.

"So let me guess, you're that one person that acts tough and cold, you act like nothing can hurt you, but deep inside you're dead and dark, but you don't have to be like that, you deserves to be happy and have that life you want and deserve and I can give that to you, if you let me" you said but he shook his head "I think it's best we don't see each other again" he sighed.

"Why?" you asked "Because too much is wrong with me, that's the problems isn't it, too much is wrong with me and you can't do anything about that. You can't change it, you can't fix me" he said "I don't want to fix you, I want to be with you, 'cause I see the person you really are and I don't care about who you were or who you are now and I don't care about what you have done. I like you because I saw who you really are. I like you so fast because you make me feel so safe in a way that I have never felt around anyone" you said and he let out a sigh.

"You may think you are too damaged and too broken to ever allow yourself to be happy, but you can choose differently Five, you can choose to care about me, as much as I care about you, that should not be up to anyone else" you said and his eyes widened.

You put your left hand on his right cheek and he leaned into your touch while closing his eyes.

You both then rested your forehead against each other as you closed your eyes.

"I really want to be with you, but we both know that we can't. I'm from the future, you are from what I would call the past, and I can't take you with me, we both know how that might effect the future" he said "You're right" you pulled away to look at each other.

"What was I thinking, yeah we are around the same age, and that mean that our relationship wouldn't be gross, but we can't be together. Not even if it just for a few hours, we would both be hurt and heartbroken when you leave" you let out a quiet sob and so did Five.

"Maybe in another universe or another time or another timeline, maybe the two of us will meet again and be together" you said and he nodded.

"I have to do this" he said "I know" you nodded.

You then kissed his cheek before you turned around and left "Where are you going?" he asked "I have the night swift at the diner, but I will be at the apartment tomorrow morning to say goodbye" you said.

"Are you sure it is a good idea to walk alone" he said "Yeah, I have done it many times" you said "It's just, when there are three crazy men with guns after me and my family, and possible after you too" he said "Why would they be after me? I'm not the one who traveled here and messed up, dropping his family here one by one" you said "I don't know Y/n, maybe it's because you punched one of those psychos" he said sarcastically "Oh yeah. I kind forgot that" you said "Not surprised, but either way, you can't walk around alone. If they find you, they will kill you" he said "Five, I will be fine. I actually have a life here in Dallas, and I won't let it fall apart because of three crazy men---"

"I can't let anything happen to you, Y/n" Five suddenly interrupted, his voice breaking through your resolve. You froze, taken aback by the intensity in his eyes.

He stepped closer, his expression serious, almost pleading "Okay? I can't even imagine what they would do to you...so maybe it is best to come with me, I will drop you off at your dad's apartment" he said.

You smiled as you stroke your hand down his cheek before grabbing his hands "I will be fine Five, I promise, I will see you later" you said before walking away.

Five let out a sigh as he looked down. He was sad. He wish that there was a way for you to come with him.

Then something hit him, there might be a way. You are just one person, maybe you wouldn't effect the timeline that much if he take you with him.

He remember that you told him how much you wanted to see the world and he wanted to give you that. He want you to go with him. He know that it might be dangerous, but he is ready to tempt with fate for it to happen.

But will you be able to leave everything you have ever know behind, would you be able to leave your dad.

He know that you just told him you couldn't, but if now your dad agree with Five, and could convince you in coming with him.

Five arrived at a room in a motel before he knocked on a green set of double doors.

It didn't take long before The Handler opened the door and she smiled when she saw Five.

"Ah! Just in time for a nightcap" she said and Five walked into the room before he closed the door as the sound of cocktail shaker sloshing was heard.

The sound of lip pops open and liquid being poured was heard as Five glanced around the room.

The Handler put a cigarette in between her teeth before she offer a glass of wine to Five but he didn't take it.

"To be clear, I take out the board...you get me and my family home. No more doomsday, no more apocalypse. Is that correct?" he asked "That's the deal" she said as she sat down on the bed.

"Then I'm in" he said and she lifted up a small piece of paper.

He stepped forward before taking the paper from her and he unfolded it to see the place and date the meeting will be.
