"Babe?" Summer questioned under her breath

By now, Melanie was already holding the blonde boy who winched in pain, holding the sock to his genital as if it was an ice pad

"What happened!?" Melanie questioned

"That crazy bitch tried to kill me" the boy hissed, raised his hand to point at Summer

Should have broken that arm too-

"What the heck Summer!" Melanie hissed

"He deserved it" Summer shrugged, bringing a smile to her lips

"He's hurt! He deserved to be hurt!?"

"If he keeps being an ass he'll get alot more" Summer said

"What the- what is wrong with you!"

"Seriously!? He's the one being an idiot"

"Do you know what could have happened to him!"

"Chill out Saint Nicholas, your man is alright" Summer rolled her eyes

"You don't know tha-"

Summer groaned loudly, turning on her heels once again. There wasn't enough time in the day to deal with clowns

So she started to head towards her class

By now the students had already cleared out the hallway, the show had been over ever since the arrival of Melanie

"Wait!" The girl called out

Summer simply rolled her eyes and continued on her journey

"Help me take him to the nurse"

"It's either you help me take him now or I send you to detention" Melanie stated

Summer's eyes widened in a second before she started to burst out laughing

Melanie rolled her eyes as she lifted one of the boy's arm, tossing it over her shoulder

"Oh? And who gives you that authority?" Summer questioned

The brunette girl pointed a finger to her shirt collar where a badge resided

Bold letters had been written across the iron badge, 'class president'

Summer's smile flopped instantly and her laughter went silent

"Shit"

Detention on the first day of school. The odds hadn't been in her favour lately, just imagine the horror she'd face going home when her mother found out that she had been given detention on the first day back

"Hurry before someone sees him" Melanie hissed

"Maybe there is a God and he's sending me signs cause there's no way in hell this is actually happening right now" Summer hissed

A wince then followed while the nurse assisted his leg to the bed, pretending as if he had been mauled by a big Mac truck

Summer scrunched her face as she watched him, this whole time he had been over exaggerating his pain to gain sympathy from his apparent girlfriend

Speaking of girlfriend, Summer was already lost as to the Two's relationship

There was no way a guy like him could land a girl like Melanie

He was greasy, the type of guy who had a roblox character as his pfp, uses facebook to talk about the new Xbox update then spend twelve hours a day playing fortnite

Don't even forget he would sip a cup of water and last him through the day

Then there was Melanie. Summer's eyes glanced over in the girl's direction

With all the commotion that had been happening all morning, she didn't even get the chance to actually take a look at the girl

She wore a white strap top which showed her defined collar bone, a small gold pendant necklace hung between

Her straight brunette hair flowed behind her shoulder, her thin brows were pinched together as she listened to nurse. It always made her small button nose a bit of red. The morning sun rays pierced through orange curtains of the room, bringing a warm and soft glow to Melanie's skin. She looked so perfect in her little moment. Her cheeks were saturated in light coloured freckles, each individually representing Melanie on its own. The girl sucked her plump lips between her teeth as she tilted her head slightly

Summer hadn't realized that she was staring at the girl for so long, a smile had even reached her lips at the girl's appearance

She truly did wonder how a guy like him ended up with a girl like that

"What are you smiling at!?" Melanie hissed, bringing Summer out of her world

"Wh- huh? Sorry" The girl caught herself

The school nurse furrowed her brows as she looked between the two girls

"So... Who's responsible for this?"

"Well you see-" the boy started

His eyes glanced over to Summer, but his face slowly fell when he witnessed her expression. The girl's face had been solid, her eyes narrowed as they pierced into his own. It almost felt like a stabbing pain. He couldn't imagine what would happen to him if she actually got her hands on him again

"I- uh. Tripped on a skateboard" he covered

Summer nodded quickly, followed by a smile

Melanie's eyes widened as she looked between the two teenagers

"A skateboard?" the woman asked

"Yeah, poor thing didn't even focus on where he was going. He probably should have stayed in his own lane" Summer grinned as she glanced over to him again

Melanie remained quiet, she knew it wasn't the truth but she couldn't say what happened either way, she wasn't even there when anything happened

"Alright I'll deal with this, you girls can head back to class now"

"Thanks Nurse P" Summer grinned, spinning on her heels to walk out the office

Another day, another tragic story avoided. Finally she could breathe and relax

"I swear, something is wrong with you"

"Jesus Christ, can I go 24 hours without hearing your annoying voice!?" Summer hissed

The nurse might have to look at two patients today if Melanie continued that story

Summer eyes locked with the girl's for the first time in a while, there was something lingering inside the brown orbs but she couldn't quite figure it out as yet

By now she was accustomed to the little snickers when she walked by. The eyes constantly wondering over her and the little whispers from a few grades ago

But it only made her grow, our experiences are the jump-start to that next version of ourselves

But Summer still didn't like that person she was now

Girls weren't a problem for her but managing them was. She was tired of the drama that came, the lies and fights of two girls trying to claim her as their own. The past month had been her own growth or standing up and taking charge of her life. No one. Not a single person could try to control her again

She was her own unapologetic self

"What? Everything he said was true wasn't it!?" Melanie hissed

Summer snapped her neck in the girl's direction as she felt a heat flow through her veins within seconds

She took a step closer to the girl, watching as she eyes widen. Summer's body was so close to her own, their toes were almost touching while their faces came closer

"That's exactly why you'll stay being a hateful fuck with a limp dick boyfriend" Summer spat, aggressively pushing Melanie's shoulder

The brunette's face watched her in disgust

"You're literally so annoying" the brunette yelled, following with a shove of her own on Summer's shoulder

"Then maybe shut the fuck up and stop talking to me"

"I'm not talking to you!"

"THEN SHUT UP. HOW HARD IS THAT" She hissed, giving Melanie one last shove

Her body immediately bounced back, their chest pressed together while the tip of their noses barely touched. They could feel each other's breath on their lips

And for a second. Just one small second. Summer swore she noticed Melanie's eyes land on her lips before turning to her eyes

Both girls swallowed a lump in their throat, the empty hallway had been taken over by silence. The only sound was the breath hitting each others lips, leaving a small tingle through their sense

"Um. Girls..." a voice interrupted the two polar opposite walking zodiac signs

Their heads both snapped in the direction of the person. The two girls hadn't realized the position they were both in, Melanie quickly took a step back

Her lips parted and her chest started to rise and fall heavily, Summer could tell the girl was breathing heavily from the way she reacted, perhaps it was the energy to took to scream that had her panting

"Aren't you supposed to be in my class?"
