Another day, another headache brought to you by our sponsors
Highschool.
The bell rang loudly through the school's hallway. Students rushed past to attend their classes while others leaned against their locks blatantly ignoring the rush of others
Summer popped open her locker and shoved a few books inside while Axel stood behind
"Don't forget you have to be at the Bible class meeting" Axel chuckled
"Shut. Up" the girl hissed
"Its ironic. A gay atheist leading the youthful Christians, honestly amazing" He smiled
"Shouldn't you be anywhere else right now?"
"No. But I'd love to join your meeting-"
"No"
"Oh come on pleas-"
"No"
"I want to watch you preach the word of God-"
"No"
"Let the spirit of the lord compell you-"
"I said. No"
"You're no fun" he pouted
"I'm just going to sit back and observe" She chuckled
"Observe what?" a familiar voice asked, approaching the two teens
"Meeting"
"Oh, I heard you're apart of that now. Hope you don't burn-" Zelda chuckled
"WHY MUST YOU TWO BE LIKE THIS"
"I'll catch you two later, I got a class" Axel chuckled
"Bye Axe"
"Byeee"
The two girls were left alone in the hallway, Zelda shoved her hands into her pockets as she leaned against the flat metal lockers
"Hey" Zelda mumbled
"Hey. You okay?" Summer questioned, sensing a sudden change in her demeanour
"Yeah it's just.. Been thinking alot"
"What about?"
"Us" she muttered
"-oh"
A silence fell over the two girls who's eyes avoided each other, lingering on the walls of stale gum and a clock in need of a battery
"We never really talked about what we're doing" Summer mumbled
"We're actually not doing anything" Zelda said
"And you're okay with that?"
"I'm okay if you're okay with that" the green hair girl said
"That's not a good answer-"
"I'm perfectly fine with being your friend Summer, I love you as a person and even though we tried to make it more, I don't think it would work out" Zelda said
Summer nodded her head slightly, amazed at the fact that she was handling it better than she expected
"Besides, I think I'm starting to crush on someone" Zelda chuckled
"Oh? Who's that?"
"Um... Miss Par-"
"NOT THE TEACHER"
"SHHHH"
"WHAT IN THE WATTPAD"
"GIRL SHUT UP" Zelda chuckled
"That's some freaky shit right there" Summer laughed
"I know! Shut it. It's not serious, she's just... Really pretty"
"I wish you nothing but failure" Summer smirked
"I hate you" Zelda glared
"I hate you more" Summer giggled
"Besides, you shouldn't worry about me. Worry about little Ms angry face over there who's glaring us down" Zelda said, raising a finger to point down the hallway
Summer turned her attention through the narrow path to see a familiar brunette standing by a doorframe with her arms crossed against her chest and a death cold stare on her face looking back and forth between the two
"Ah. There's the Melanie I know" Summer chuckled
"You two have issues, I swear"
"I'll see you later, I'm already late for this dumb meeting" Summer chuckled
"Later Sumz"
"Bye Zelda"
The two walked in opposite directions, Summer gripped the bag straps over her shoulder bone tight as she walked down the tiled hallway
The closer she came, the more of the brunette's appearance because clearer
Her straight brown hair cascaded over her shoulders, woven with strands of gold and auburn lights, her year-round autumnal beauty
In those brown eyes was the warmth of an everlasting hearth, as if they were the wood that could burn with golden flame yet be forever perfectly entire
Despite the harsh look she gave Summer, the girl could tell her true feelings in those eyes
"Hey Princess" Summer grinned, approaching the girl
And just for a second, a split second. Summer witnessed her brown orbs melt within itself at the name
Before returning back to a harsh stare
"You're late" Melanie stated
"Sorry babe, I had to hang with the boys for a bit"
"The boys? Really" she stated again
Melanie gave a glare to her, a warning sign of emotional coldness creeping in, that she should be taken seriously
"Don't worry, I'm here to give you all of my attention-" Summer said
The girl then stepped for, bringing their chests close together
Immediately, Melanie's expression fell and her heart rate increased at the feeling of Summer's body touching her own once again
A flutter filled the pit of her stomach, slowly reaching up to take her veins
Summer's fingers hooked under the girl's chin as she slowly tilted her head up
Her lips were then brought close the girl's ear but her warm breath lingered by her neck
Melanie's body froze in place while her chest rose and fell heavily, the throbbing in her chest exploded
"-If you want me to" she whispered
As quickly as her touch came, it had dissapeared again
Summer released her hands from the girl's body and stepped backwards, holding a smirk on her lips and turning to walk into the classroom where the few students sat
"What's up losers" Summer greeted the few
The students smiled and waved at the girl while others immediately rose to their feet, walking over to meet the girl with a conversation
Leaving a completely dazed out of her mind Melanie Robbins gripping the doorframe for any sort of balance
What the hell did she just experience
What the actual hell was that
Her thoughts raced in her mind. Back and forth, arguing to their last breath. Her body still hadn't relaxed, sprinting the adrenaline through her entire body
Her lips slightly quivered as the rush in her veins tried to slow down
But failed miserably
Her eyes glanced into the classroom to the Summer sitting on the teacher's table, kicking her feet innocently while holding that smirk on her face
"Well, aren't you going join us?" Summer asked
Immediately, the rush faded into nothing. The adrenaline had left her body and that familiar anger started to boil inside again
Sometimes her mind took over her emotions and she completely forgot that Summer wasn't more than an annoying ass- asset. Yeah. Asset.
"Get off the table" Melanie hissed, entering the classroom
"Whoa, don't punish me Ms Robbins" Summer chuckled
"You're supposed to be helping me in this meeting, you're just being useless dyke as always" Melanie spat
The raven hair girl couldn't help but raise a brow at her as she tilted her head to the side, giving her a questioning look
"Ouch. So we're back to square one huh?" Summer questioned
"We never left" Melanie muttered before turning to face the students
The girl's voice then faded away into the classroom while the raven hair girl simply frowned
To think that just a few days ago she was quite. Her smile brought light to the velvet night under the stars, her eyes were filled with rays of the sun everytime she laughed
She blushed at the wind touching her skin too long, but here she stood with venom in her mouth and a poison in her eyes
A poison to kill any bond they were to form
Maybe sometimes Summer forgot who they were. Here she was thinking she would see the girl as a person and not what her name had
A pastor father, a boyfriend who's brain was left somewhere on Pluto during his creation
And her raging anger, hoping underneath she would find a soft girl who just needed a hug to take away her misery of her life
But no. She truly was her name
And perhaps she always would live up to being the biggest jerk she had come across
A homophobic piece of utter shit who had no place in her life
