Todoroki Will Call You Out On Your Shit(Chap.3)
~Third Person P.O.V~
Izuku sat on his bed, watching in pure delight as more red swirls sketched themselves over his arm. He had come to the conclusion that both of his soulmates were either artists, or just really good at drawing- something they all had in common. The green haired boy couldn't help but smile at the thought.
What?
Just because he doesn't want to meet his soulmates doesn't mean he can't enjoy the little things.
But as they say, all good things must come to an end. Todoroki had walked out of the bathroom just then, a towel hanging around his neck as he wore nothing but a pair of gray sweats.
It wasn't uncommon for the duel haired boy to be shirtless in front of Izuku, or Uraraka for that matter- hell, it goes all three ways for them. They're all very close with each other, not to mention they each have soulmates of their own- so not being entirely clothed sometimes wasn't that big of a deal.
They're siblings after all.
"What're you smiling at?" Todoroki snickers, throwing his towel at his brother's face.
"Nothing... back off!" Izuku growls playfully, chucking his pillow at Todoroki in return. "Wait, no- I don't know why I threw that, give it back to me." He whinnied shortly after.
Rolling his heterochromatic eyes, the duel haired teen give it back. Flopping down on his own bed and staring up at the ceiling.
"I still don't understand why you think having a soulmate is so bad Izu." Todoroki muttered, he had figured that Izuku was staring at his lines- prompting him to say his statement.
Izuku narrows his eyes at the taller male, his mood beginning to shift. "We've been over this Shoto... I think love is a waste of time. Simple as that." He snapped, his nostrils slightly flaring.
"No. You're just scared of love because of what happened to your mother." Todoroki said back bluntly.
If there was anything Izuku has learned over the years of being the duel haired boy's brother- it's that he is a rather blunt person. Sometimes his bluntness is a good thing... but other times it just gets annoying.
This was one of those other times.
"Fuck off Shoto." Izuku growled, this time he had more bite in his voice as he spoke.
"Am I wrong though?"
No. The answer to Todoroki's question was no. But Izuku was too pissed off, and had too much pride to admit it. So he did the next best thing... he stormed out.
The green haired boy didn't exactly know where he was going at the moment, all he knew was that he needed to take a breather. At this point anywhere other than his dorm would be a good place to go.
It was January in New York, therefore it was snowing like a bitch outside. Not that the freckled teen minded, he enjoyed the snow quite a lot.
Pulling the hood of his jacket over his head he continues to walk off campus, deciding to go to a local coffee house just across the street.
As soon as he opened the door he was met with a wave of warmness, coating him like a blanket. The inside smelt of pastries and coffee beans, fellow college student sat at a few tables either studying or doing work on their computers.
Izuku quickly walks up to the counter, inspecting the menu intently as he looked for a good drink.
(That awkward moment when you've never had coffee and have to look on the Starbucks menu online)
"Can I have a Cappuccino with Almond milk, four shots of Espresso, and a Caramel drizzle?" Izuku asked, finally looking up at the cashier only to be dumbfounded.
Katsuki had the same expression on his face, which only lasted a fraction of a second as he quickly put in the order. "Your total is four seventy five..." He trailed off.
They both kind of just stood there, staring at each other awkwardly- neither knowing what to say nor what to do. That is until Izuku finally mustered up the courage to speak up.
"I'm sorry for how rude I acted the other day." Izuku whispered softly, pulling his hood off and looking down at his boots.
"It's not your fault... look Deku I-"
"Do you think it would be okay if we met up sometime- and... talked?" Izuku interrupted, finally peeking back up to look Katsuki in the eyes.
The blond let out a breathy chuckle, his chest squeezing with all kinds of emotions. "My shift ends in five minutes." Katsuki said, cracking a small smile before disappearing into the back.
Izuku released a shaky breath, one he hadn't even realized he was holding. He could feel his heart thudding in his chest, his cheeks swelling a light hue of scarlet as the blood rushed to them.
It was as if his body had went on autopilot, his limbs moving on their own as he mind was elsewhere- in deep thought.
Eventually he found himself at a table by the window, he gazed outside- watching as the snow began to slow. Only white specks fluttered slowly here and there, rather than pouring down on the streets and buildings around them.
After a few more minutes, Katsuki made his way over- Izuku's drink as well as a bagel for himself in hand.
"Here you go." Katsuki uttered, handing him the coffee.
"Thanks."
It was fairly silent between the two for a few beats, just them mindlessly staring at the window next to them.
"I see you're still into art." Katsuki mused, taking a small bite of his bagel.
"Hm? Oh- yeah... guess I could say the same about you." Izuku chuckled, when a thought popped up in his head. "It's kind of funny- how we both ended up in the same art college I mean."
The blond snickered, nodding his head in agreeance. "Yeah it's pretty..." He started, looking for the right word to use.
"Weird." They both said in unison, causing the pair to laugh.
"Look Deku- Izuku- whatever the fuck I have to call you now... I'm sorry." Katsuki said, looking down at his fingers. "I'm sorry I was a shitty friend... hell, shitty doesn't even begin to describe the kind of friend I was to you. I'm sorry I bullied you- God I don't think I've ever been this sorry in my life." He chuckled bitterly.
Izuku could feel tears pricking the corners of his eyes, as his gazed at the blond- his mouth slightly parted.
"But most of all I'm sorry about what happened to auntie... I'm really, really sorry." Katsuki choked out, tears of his own slipping up as he quickly wiped them.
"You don't know how long I waited to hear that." Izuku chuckled, a teary kind of chuckle. "But I hope you know I never held any type of grudge against you... no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't hate you."
The blond let out a sigh of relief, his shoulders dropping as he did so. "I deserve it though." Katsuki mumbled, fidgeting with the cuffs of his sleeves.
"Oh yeah- no argument there!" Izuku said, although his voice and expression clearly stated that he was joking around.
Crossing his arms the red eyed barista leans back in his seat, his eyes shining with the same joking manner Izuku had in his. "Shut up." Katsuki snickered, tearing off a piece of his bagel and throwing it at the smaller boy.
Izuku giggled, grabbing the small chunk and popping it in his mouth. "Hey, who was that red head you were with the other day?" He questioned, tilting his head to the side.
"One of my soulmates." Katsuki replied smoothly, albeit his face flushed a light shade of pink.
"One of your soulmates?" Izuku mused, it was pretty uncommon to meet someone with more than one soulmate.
The blond nodded his head, subconsciously pulling his sleeves down further so they covered his arms. "Eijirou Kirishima is his name... we still haven't found our other soulmate though." He said.
"Look at you- having a cute soulmate and crap." Izuku teased, poking Katsuki's shoulder.
"I'll make sure to tell him that- it'll definitely fill his ego up!" Katsuki laughed, a broad smile gracing his lips.
And that's how the rest of the couple of hours went for the two. Both of the them catching up on everything they missed since middle school, they even exchanged numbers.
For the first time in a long time... it felt like they were on the right track to becoming friends again.
Hello Cricket Cultists!!
So I just needed them to make up... trust me you'll see why this was needed in the future. I really liked how this chapter turned out too- sorry it took so long to post, I was babysitting my little siblings.
