Not That Angsty... Yet(Chap.7)
~Third Person P.O.V~
Izuku sat on his bed listlessly, a plethora of pain sprouting and blooming in the oddest of places throughout his body. He had wrapped his blanket around him like a cocoon, relishing in its warmth- yet also grimacing from his pain.
The green haired college student knew he most likely shouldn't be bundling himself up in blankets, his body temperature was already rising enough as it is. But he couldn't help it.
He needed some type of warm affection.
And his blanket provided that.
The pain began to slow down, but that didn't give him the least bit of hope at all, he knew what it really meant. Bracing himself, he squeezed his eyes shut tightly as crawling pain shot through each and every one of his limbs. Gluing itself to each nerve in his body as it stayed there for a while, causing him to choke on a scream. A scream he wanted nothing more to release.
Then there was a knock at the door.
His ears perked at the sound, as he scrunched his nose up in confusion and from discomfort.
"Come in." Izuku croaked, his throat hoarse and sore.
Green eyes widened as he quickly scrambled backwards in his bed when he seen who walked in. Izuku fought of the instinct to jump into their arms and instead tried to sport a glare as they looked at him. Key word: tried.
"What are two doing here?" Izuku asked, but the question came out more soft than he intended. "You can't be here, you need to leave."
Eijirou tilted his head to the side as Katsuki just scoffed, the red head took a few cautious steps forwards. "Why can't we be here?" He questioned, Eijirou's red eyes shining with worry.
"I-" Izuku gritted his teeth as he tried to think of a good excuse. "I'm sick. I don't want you guys to catch it so you need to leave!" He replied quickly, grimacing as the pain soon flooded him again.
The blond heaved a sigh, shaking his head disapprovingly as he and Eijirou made their way over to him.
"No, Kacchan what're you-" The freckled male's query was cut short as a warm palm pressed lightly against his forehead. Izuku leaned into the touch, his lips parting as all the pain from before instantly went away.
Izuku sighed contently as Eijirou's hand cupped his neck, ignoring the worry lines that formed on the two boys faces.
"You're burning up dude." Eijirou whispered, "I'll go get a wet rag, Kat take that blanket off of him it'll only make it worse if he has a fever." he said, getting up and making his way towards the bathroom.
Vehemently shaking his head Izuku pursed his lips as he looked at his childhood best friend. "I don't want you guys to get sick to... just go I'll be fine." Izuku said 'sternly', not wanting the two to be there any longer and make his decision harder for him.
"Please," Katsuki snorted, waving a dismissive hand. "Me and Ei volunteered at a hospital for a few summers, our immune systems are pretty strong. Plus, from the looks of it, you only seem to have a fever- anything else we should worry about?"
Izuku smiled softly, shaking his head slowly as fatigue washed over him. "No," He mumbled, reluctantly allowing the blond to take away his blanket.
The red head came back in, a bowl of water and wet rag in hand as he placed it on the desk next to Izuku's bed. Gently, Eijirou's places the rag on the 'sick' male's forehead, dabbing away at small beads of sweat.
"I can't believe you volunteered at a hospital." Izuku chuckled sleepily, as Katsuki pulled a thin sheet cover over the boy instead of a blanket.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, lightly threading his fingers through Izuku's mop of green curls. "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He asked, albeit there was no malice in his tone when he spoke.
"I would have assumed that you would try and kill one of the patients if they made you upset." Izuku chuckled against his pillow, his eye lids dropping completely as a dopey grin made its way onto his lips.
"No I wouldn't!" Katsuki growled.
Eijirou grimaced, a memory of their times volunteering filling his head now. "Well there was that one time babe-"
"It's not like I actually killed her!" Katsuki interrupted, holding his hands up in defensive.
The second youngest of the three scrunched his face up in confusion, eyes still closed as he did so. "What happened?" Izuku mumbled, still wanting to hear the story despite his sleepiness.
Eijirou chortled while his blond boyfriend grumbled incoherent 'friendly' things to him. "Well we had this one patient who we were supposed to be checking on, she had just went through surgery so she was a little loopy. Long story short- she called Kat a Pomeranian and he tried to inject Morphine in his IV because of it." He laughed.
Another lopsided grin formed on Izuku's mouth as he let out a low chuckle.
"That sounds like my Kacchan..." He muttered, before descending into the depths of sleep.
Warmth cascaded onto the blond's face as he heard each and every one of Izuku's words perfectly. All while Eijirou was trying his hardest to contain his uncontrollable fit of giggles that kept escaping.
"You... look like a tomato!" Eijirou whisper laughed.
"And you sound like a fucking Windex bottle!" Katsuki shot back, prompting his boyfriend to shoot him a playful glare.
It was quiet between the two for a moment, both of them were mainly focusing on the sleeping Izuku next to them. The smaller boy's muted breathing barely scratching the surface of their ears as his chest rose and fell. Beads of sweat had dampened his neck and hairline slightly, as not too noticeable dark rings adorned his eyes.
Even when he looked like he'd been through hell the two boys still found him beautiful.
Wait-
Katsuki's eyes widened at the same time as Eijirou's, the two shared a look- a myriad of emotions swimming in their matching scarlet orbs as they continued to gaze at each other.
They think Izuku is beautiful...
Is it wrong to think that?
They have a soulmate out there in the world... But being there with Izuku, it felt as if there missing half had been found. Yet it couldn't be right.
Izuku couldn't be there soulmate, right?
Both Katsuki and Eijirou seemed to have the same idea as they gave each other affirming nods. The red head's hand shakily reached out to touch Izuku's sleeve, his fingers curling around the hem. Just as he was about to pull down their phones began to ding with notifications.
It was a reminder that they had class in five minutes.
Katsuki spared Izuku one last glance before going over and opening the door, waiting for his boyfriend to follow. Eijirou took one of the sticky notes off the desk and wrote a quick note to the sleeping male.
Hey Mido!
I think it's only fair I give you a nickname since you have one for Kat, anyway- we have class right now. But I promise we'll be back once its over, okay? Hopefully you'll still be asleep by then, but just in case you aren't I'm writing this note.
