when tears aren't enough
I walked up the stage, one foot at a time. Trying to keep the dizziness from making me fall. The crowd cheered but they were forgotten. I haven't played the piano since she died. I sat at the piano bench and took a deep unsettled breath. I ran my fingers over the familiar ivory keys and started to play but the melody from my dream krept to my fingers and moved on their own.
Alec's pov.
Even before I was born, I already was assumed to be a musician. At first my family was poor and I was to be used by my parents to make money. "We gave you life, you owe us." I was trained relentlessly in a variety of instruments and tossed into contest after contest. Soon money wasn't a problem and it was just flowing in waves by the minute. The only problem was my family; after everything they put me through, they needed to be gone. On my 19th birthday I kicked them both out of MY house, took all of MY money out of their banking account and set a restraining order against them. They were nowhere to be heard from and for once in my life I could have a break and be a normal person.
Ring Ring Ring
"Hello" I answered groggily
"Alec hurry up and get to the the music restaurant on dab street!"
I sat up fast, the ringing in my head exploding "Quiet down, why?"
"She's here, Samantha Michelson is gonna preform!"
"Who's Samantha?"
I heard a loud crash "Whos Samantha, WHOS SAMANTHA! Only the most known child prodigy who suddenly stopped playing for four years and who is NOW PLAYING, HURRY UP!"
I fell off my bed getting dressed in black pants and a maroon shirt. I rushed out the door running three blocks and into the restaurant. I panted and looked around for Jason, when I found him he already ordered us two beers.
"So when is she playing" I asked.
He pointed to the stage "Now, she's up there" I looked up and saw a girl with red hair and a red dress sat at the piano. She looked as if she was enchanted by the piano and as she went to play the piano, it became alive at her touch. It was like listening to someone was trying to express the words traped inside their heart but they couldn't find the right keys to play. It sounded as if the the craziness she felt was trying to explode from her all in one song. Her heart and mind battling between themselves over different feelings. One was sad and hurt, so hurt it felt like dying, while the other one wanted to stay alive long enough to unleash its madness upon the world demanding reprimands. It was so moving that even the most toughest guys had tears in thier eyes. And it was long before that I realized that I too had been crying. Who was this woman? Why was she in so much pain? How could I help?
Hi there Manovic here. I know its been awhile since I last updated but I hope this makes up for that. Sorry and have a beautiful day my masqueraders.
