matt came and picked me up in his car not too long after. i told hayden what was going on, so thankfully we wouldn't have another incident. we quickly dropped by chris and nick's meeting with their youtube contractor and picked them up too.

bella was a good dog in the car, entertaining chris and nick in the back and thankfully not shedding too much.

'so how does it feel being a dog mom now?' nick teased.

'oh great, she's basically my kid now,' i joked back.

nick laughed as we turned into an outdoor ice cream shop area. thankfully, they had pup cups so bella wouldn't feel left out, and i got a normal chocolate ice cream.

today felt nice, and it was getting even better with my friends around me. it gave me a chance to not think about hayden, and that was really nice.

once we finished our ice cream, we walked around the park that was nearby, just talking and having fun.

nick talked to me for most of the time, but i felt my eyes drifting to matt. his smile made me feel happier than hayden ever did, but i knew that was wrong of me to think.

matt caught me looking at him once and smiled, making me blush a bit, but not enough for anyone to notice.

(time skip)

'well, have a great rest of your day, y/n,' nick and chris said as we said our goodbyes.

they left for their house, and matt drove me home.

during the ride, matt asked me how i was doing.

'i'm fine,' i said, not wanting him to bring up hayden again. thankfully, he didn't, and we drove in silence for the rest of the way to my house. well, almost silent. bella was panting in the back of the car.

once matt pulled up to my driveway, we talked for a second about things we wanted to do in the future, and bella's paw landed on the back of my headrest, her full body standing up and her head almost hitting the roof.

i looked at bella and laughed.

he chuckled, then, in a sudden burst of confidence, leaned in and pressed his lips against mine for a brief moment. it was soft and sweet, leaving me breathless.

'goodnight, y/n,' he said.

'night,' i said back, getting out of the car and letting bella out too.

once i walked inside, i felt happy but a bit guilty too. i had just kissed matt, and i had a boyfriend!

this was messing with my mind. 

then hayden walked in
