The next morning, Teja wakes up due to sunlight falling on her face piercing through the curtains. She turns to the other side and tries to snuggle Karan but couldn't find him. She opens her eyes after rubbing it and looks around the room. "Where is he?" - she asked herself.

She takes her phone which was on the nightstand. She saw the time and it shows 9:53 a.m. She slaps her own forehead. "Oh shit. I'm late to the hospital! Fuck!" - she said and gets off the bed. She runs into the washroom grabbing her things.

After some time, she descended the stairs and walked to the dining table. There she found a note on a plate. She takes it and reads it - "Hey babe, I have to take the early flight to Pune, so I didn't wake you up. I'm going to miss you this one week. I know you are late to the hospital but have this sandwich on your way. Buy a coffee in Starbucks near the hospital. Love you!"

Teja smiled at the note and looked at the plate. She realizes she is extremely late now. She took the sandwiches and exited the house. The cab she booked had arrived. She hopped in and started to eat the sandwich he made. On her way, she stopped the cab in Starbucks and paid him away.

She gets in and get herself a cappuccino. Then, she exited the Starbucks and started to walk towards the hospital while sipping her cappuccino. The hospital is just meters away. She reached the hospital and emptied her cappuccino as well. She threw the empty cup in dustbin and walks into her cabin.

She puts on her doctor coat and sits on her chair. She takes a sigh and looks around her room. She remembers the previous day where she and Karan had sex right after her exam. She shrugs off her thoughts and gets into work.

Teja comes out of an operation theatre looking exhausted. She walks to the counter and takes a tablet in her hand. "Any other operafter this?" - Teja asked the nurse. "No, Dr. You have to perform a surgery in 2 days for Mr. Sharma." - said the nurse. "Oh yes, I remember that one." - Teja said still going through her tablet.

"Well, book an OR for Mr Rahul Khanna for his heart surgery on coming Saturday at 8 am!" - said Teja looking at the nurse. "Dr, it's the day after Mr. Sharma's surgery. Mr. Sharma's surgery will take a minimum of 8 hours. Will you be able to perform Mr Rahul Khanna's surgery with just 4 hours of rest?" - asked the nurse.

"That's a job if a doctor. Moreover, Mr Rahul Khanna have to get his surgery done as soon as possible." - said Teja. The nurse nods her head at her. Teja then starts to walk away from there. She goes to the cafeteria and orders herself a coffee and a muffin.

She sits on a table and surfs in her phone while sipping her coffee. Then, her phone rings. It is Karan. A smile crept on her lips. She attends the phone. "Hello, babe!" - said Karan. " Hi, Karan!" - said Teja.

"Aww, I was missing your voice yaar!" - he said. "Accha, so how was the meeting?" - asked Teja. "It went well. How was the hospital?" - he asked her back. "Good. Just finished a surgery." - said Teja and sips her coffee. "Hmm!" - both of them said at the same time and chuckled.

They talked for sometime and hung up. She keeps her phone on the table and looks at the muffin. She smiles as in remembering how a muffin made her meet Karan. She lost herself recollecting some memories.

Flashback starts :-

It was Adaa and Rithik Kundrra's engagement ceremony. It is held in Adaa's house as per the ritual. The guest had started to have their food as the ring changing ceremony is done. People are enjoying the food while looking at the people dancing on the dance floor.

At the pastry section, a woman is seen looking at the freshly baked donuts, muffins, and cookies. She stops at the muffin and forwards get hadn to take it. She gets hold of the muffin and she found another hand on the same muffin.

She turns and looks at the person. It is revealed to be Karan Kundrra. He is looking handsome in a blue sherwani with golden patterns on it and a golden pants.  Karan's outfit. 👇

Karan looks at the woman also. She is revealed to be Tejasswi Prakash looking all gorgeous in a navy blue lehenga with some embroidery work on it. Teja's outfit👇

They smiles at each other. "I'm sorry. You can take this. I'll take the other one." - said Karan taking his hand off the muffin. "Thank you, Mr.." - said Teja. "Karan. Karan Kundrra!" - Karan introduced himself. "Oh, you are Rithwik's elder brother." - said Teja.

"Yes. I assume you are his friend?" - asked Karan. "Actually, I'm best friend of Adaa from LKG! By the way, Dr Tejasswi Prakash!" - said Teja while forwarding her hand to him. Karan looks at her hand and forwards his hand and shakes his hand with her's.

They takes their muffin, one each and starts to walk while talking with each other. "So, you are a doctor like my sister-in-law. That's nice." - said Karan. "And your are?" - asked Teja taking a bite of her muffin. "Businessman!" - said Karan. "Oh, I see!" - said Teja.

"Mind if I ask you something?" - asked Teja. Karan asked her to go on. "You are elder to Rithik. Then, why are you not hitched yet?" - asked Teja. "Well, I'm not over my ex yet and Mom also wanted grandchildren from so long. So, I asked them to get Rithik first and I asked for a year time." - said Karan and passed a force smile.

Teja nods at him understanding his pain. "And you are in love?" - asked Karan. "Nope. I doesn't believe in it! Scared of commitments. But I want to.." - Teja was cut in the middle as Adaa called her. Teja excused herself from Karan and left from there.

Karan looks at her retreating figure while taking the last bite of his muffin. "I have to admit that she is gorgeous. How I wish to kiss her juicy lips?! But Karan control yourself! By the way, what was she about to say just now? I'll ask her later!" - Karan said to himself and joins his friends group.

Flashback Ends.

Teja came back from her memory lane as someone taps her shoulder. She turns and finds Adaa. She gets excited and hugged her bestie. "Bestie, I missed you so much!" - said Teja. Adaa smiled at her and hugged her back tightly as well.

"I missed you as well!" - Adaa said and they broke the hug. They settles down in their chairs. "After a long holiday, finally you had joined the hospital again!" - said Teja looking at Adaa. "Yeah, Mom wanted me there, so I had to go. Woh sab chodo. Aditi dii called me and told me what happened yesterday!" - Adaa said looking all serious.

Teja's face fell listening to her. Adaa notices it. She puts her hand on Teja's palm which was resting on the table. "Teju, look at me!" - said Adaa. Teja looks up at her. The hurt and pain of losing her brother is seen in her eyes. "I know I shouldn't have bring this topic in our first meet after a long gap itself but I know you. I know that you are in pain and I don't want you to do any other thing to get rid of this pain. I hope you understand what I meant!" - said Adaa.

Teja looks at her and she shudders remembering what all she did in the past to get rid of the pain she was going through. Well, of course. Teja is close with her brother. He is like her superhero. She shares everything with him first, then only to Aditi. She couldn't take it when he is gone just like that. Therefore, she took a wrong step.
