Tejasswi's POV

I recalled what Harsh told me earlier this morning about Aneri. I totally forgot about it. Shit!

Aneri : Where were you last night?

Teja : I guess you knew the answer already.

Aneri : Tejasswi!

Teja : Aneri!

Aneri : Tell me what happened last night at Mehra Mansion from A to Z.

I have to tell her anyhow. I looked at her and sighed. Let's get into a small flashback people.

Flashback starts.

Yesterday night, I headed to Mehra Mansion after my shift to grab some things of mine. I'm not staying with them. I have my own apartment far from Mehra Mansion and a bit near from hospital.

It had been 4 months since I went to Mehra Mansion. I rang the bell to someone open the door. After few seconds, the door gets opened by Mrs. Mehra, my mother. Pragya Arora neé Mehra is a famous lawyer in Toronto. She looked at me being surprised by my presence. Her eyes welled up seeing me after a long time, I guess!

Mothers of India!

Pragya : Ladoo..

Laddoo is my pet name given to me by mother. Not saying anymore word, she just hugged me tightly. I didn't hug her back. I just stiffens my body. I think she realized that I'm a tough nut to crack as she broke the hug and cupped my face. I didn't show any kind of emotion to her. I just kept an unreadable facade.

Teja : I came here to take some of my things, Mrs Mehra.

I told her. There was a kind of pain in her face after listening to me addressing her as Mrs. Mehra and not Maa. Why would I call her Maa? Not after what they had done in my life. She moved back and let me in.

I just go to my old room and grabbed something that I needed and left my room. I came to the living room and found my father, Mr. Abhishek Prem Mehra, one of the richest businessman here. He looked up at him from his phone and smiled with his eyes being glistened.

He walked over to me and took me into a hug. Another one! I didn't hug him back as well. Just stiffed my body. He broke the hug and looked at me being hurt by my action. I didn't regret, in fact he deserves it.

Abhi : Teju princess.. it had been so long since I met you lastly. How are you?

Teja : Better than last time I was with you and your wife, Mr. Mehra.

I spotted the anger. He looked at him painfully. That's not going to work on me. Offo, I need to get out of this house.

Teja : I just came to take some of my things. I'll leave now.

I was about to move but Mrs. Mehra stopped me.

Pragya : Laddoo, it had been so long. Why don't we have dinner together? At least for once.

Abhi : Yes, yes Teju. Please, I request you. Let's have a family dinner together.

For the first time, husband and wife are agreeing to the same thing. Just an act they put up despite their hate on each other to convince me. I sighed and nodded at them. I went and sat in the dining table.

Mr Mehra sat opposite to me and Mrs Mehra beside me. She was about to serve me but I showed my hand to her making her stop in her place.

Teja : I can serve for myself, Mrs Mehra.

I served for myself. The dinner went silently when he started it.

Abhi : Teju, have this broccoli. Your mother had done this for you.

Pragya : She doesn't like broccoli.

Abhi : I'm her father, Pragya. I know what she like and what she don't like. Here, Teju. Take this broccoli and taste it.

Pragya : I'm the one who gave birth to her. I know her likes and dislikes more than you do.

He looked at me and I nodded indicating I don't like broccoli. He put the bowl back being defeated.

Pragya : Next time, try to know her likes and dislikes at least.

Abhi : Pragya, don't fly high as you get to know her. I was busy in my business that I missed some chances to take care of her and know her.

Pragya : Even I had works as a lawyer but still I know her.

That's it! Enough of this two.

Teja : No you don't!

They both looked at me.

Teja : You don't know me, Mrs Mehra. You as well, Mr Mehra. You both are failed as parents already. Don't try to convince me and reconcile our broken relationship. What's broken is broken. I'm done with you two. I'll take my leave now.

I told them and left from there with my belongings. I heard them calling me but I didn't give them a damn. I'm tired with this family drama.

Flashback Ends.

I looked at Aneri after narrating the story. She looked worried. I assured her that's nothing because I'm used with their fights from childhood. But her next question made me nervous because if I tell her the truth means she'll definitely kill me now itself.

Aneri : But where you went after that? I know that you didn't go to your apartment.

Harsh : Yeah, I didn't hear anything like door opening or closing beside my apartment.

Here this monkey came! I and Harsh are living in apartment next to each other. And I'm regretting for it now! This guy!

Teja : No, I went back to apartment. A bit late. I think you were asleep as I came really late after roaming the city to calm myself.

I lied at them. They didn't look convince with it. Oh God! Am in trouble again?

Aneri : Then, why were you dodging my phone calls?

Teja : Uhmm, I was in extreme temper and I don't want to shout at you and upset you.

They know me that how my state will be after meeting or being with my parents even for a second. They just nodded at me. I think they are convinced but not fully. That's enough for me for now. I relieved but something grabbed our attention.

It's that businessman, Karan Kundrra. Why the hell is he shouting in ED? I and my friends went to him. He is shouting at one of our staff.

Karan : What the hell are you thinking about yourself? Where is my mother? Why aren't you allowing me to meet her?

He is shouting like nobody's business.

Teja : Sir, sir! Calm down. What's happening here?

I asked the nurse. She told me that he wanted to meet his mother now but she is not shifted to normal ward yet. That's true! We can't allow patient's family member or friend to meet them in trauma. They have to wait until they get shifted to normal ward.

Teja : Sir, you heard our nurse right?! Your mother will get shifted in sometime, then you can meet her.

He looked at me being in rage. His eyes are burning in anger. He hold my shoulders fierce fully. That's paining because he's grip is really strong.

Karan : I want to meet my mother! I'm waiting here from an hour but you guys aren't letting me meet my mother. What the hell are you all thinking about yourself? I can sue your hospital.

He pushed me and I fell on the ground with my left elbow hitting the floor hard.

Ouch!!!

AnHarsh : Tejuuu!!!!!

They came to me and helped me to get on my feet. Harsh marches towards Karan angrily but I stopped him. I went to Karan Kundrra and looked at him angrily.

Teja : This is a hospital. Toronto General Hospital which means a government hospital! You can't simply shout at a doctor and push us like this. We can sue you for this! We are treating your mother and giving all the necessary cares to her. In sometime, she'll be shifted to the normal ward and you can meet her. Till then,  stop shouting and sit in your place quietly, Mr. Karan Kundrra!

I told him calmly at the start but at the end I lose my temper and raised my voice. His angry eyes soften listening to me. He loosens his stiffened shoulder and sits in a bench over there. I look around and found people staring at me bewildered.

Teja : Can you all get back to your work?

The resumed their work. I looked back at Karan Kundrra and noticed his hand bleeding. What the hell! He hurt himself to prevent hurting the nurse?! Oh God! This guy!

Teja : Harsh, look after his mother's shiftment and her reports. Aneri, grab me a first aid kit.

They nodded at me. Harsh left from ED and Aneri gave me a first aid kit. I sat beside Karan and he looked at me. I can say that he feel sorry for his behavior just now by looking into his eyes.

Author's POV

Tejasswi grabs his bleeding hand and started to treat it. Karan looked at her. He notices a hair strand falls on her face which is disturbing her. He slowly raised his other free hand and Tejasswi looked at his hand.

He slowly brought it to her face and holds her hair strand softly. He tucked it behind her ear and and looked into her eyes which is already looking into him. They both had an eye lock. A silent lovely eye lock.

Tejasswi broke the eye lock and finishes treating his hand. She was about to go but he holds her hand. She stops and her heart beat started to increase unknowingly. She slowly turns to him.

Karan : I.. I'm sorry for what happened.. just now. I was just.. just worries for my Maa.

She nods at him and smiled at him indicating she doesn't mind it. He smiles back at her and he left her hand. She left from there to the counter and holds the table tightly trying to calm her heart beats.

Teja : What was it for?

Tejasswi asked herself and looked at Karan from her place and as smile crept on her lips unknowingly seeing his calm yet nervously cute face.
