A crowd of sweaty bodies danced around the glossed wooden flooring of the dimly lit room. Strobe lights flashed over the dancefloor, bouncing off the faces of the mingling beings rubbing up on each other. More people were scattered around the rest of the club area. Some were at the bar counter, or in the bathroom hooking up with another, or gushing at the main attraction of the club and bar. The eye candy was what got many to make their way to the club each night in hopes to catch a glimpse of the being on the throne.

This club and bar wasn't an ordinary one. It was a vampire bar which made the energy in the air so much more intense. That energy was from vampires and humans. It had been three years since vampires had come out of the coffin and were looking for rights of their own in the world. And along with that, the invention of Tru Blood, an artificial blood substitute for vampires was out in the stores. Some people took nicely to the idea of vampires being real and learning to coexist was easy to come by for those few, but others were full of fear and resentment for the bloodsucking creatures. And the few of those people who accepted the vampires happily indulge themselves into the life of the crazy and sexual beings.

In Louisiana, the vampire bar had opened up in late November of '06 and had been a big hit going on year number three. Humans and vampires were quick to stand in line at night in order to be let into the popular place. Either looking for a nice time or a nice snack. Or some people were simply curious about what all the hype was about the big attraction. And that specific night, three girls stood in line outside the building that had muffled music echoing across the parking lot. Two of the girls were excited and bouncing thoughts off each other about the idea of drinks or any hot vampires inside, while the third girl was just there as support.

Magnolia 'Maggie' Stackhouse, a girl in her early twenties was the supportive friend. She always went with her best friend Gemma Bellefleur wherever she wanted to go. And every bad idea or crazy idea Gemma had, sweet Magnolia went along with. Maggie had only returned to Bon Temps, her hometown she grew up in before she went to study abroad and traveling, for all of three days when her best friend brought up the idea of a place in Shreveport that they should check out. Maggie, Gemma, and Dawn, a waitress from Merlotte's bar and grill, put on some decent clothing and decided to see this bar that was named as a pun.

Fangtasia.

It made Maggie dryly laugh when she was first told the name of the vampire bar. A corny little name that seemed to fit too well.

Maggie couldn't help but look around the lot of the building when realization had hit her. Why the surroundings looked vaguely familiar to her when they first pulled into the lot was because there used to be a little shopping plaza in the place she now stood. The movie rental store was the first thing that came to mind for her. Remembering the last time she had been there before she had left Louisiana. It had been her birthday and it was also the first time she had met vampires since they had come out of the coffin a few months prior. Her mind drifted to those icy blue eyes that had constantly popped in her head throughout the years while she was off traveling.

"Mags, the line is moving. Come on, we don't want people cutting us," Gemma snapped Maggie out of her thoughts.

"Make sure you girls have your ID's out," Dawn chimed in. Gemma waved her card around in excitement while Maggie peered down at her wristlet that held her cards and cash.

It's not that the blonde girl was completely against the idea of going to the vampire bar. She just didn't get why it was all people talked about. Looking at her friends she couldn't help but think that she must have missed the happy train that Gemma and Dawn were on. She wanted to enjoy the moment with the two other girls, but she just felt like she was walking into a danger trap. And everyone around her seemed to be oblivious to that in a sense since most of their thoughts were of, "I can't wait to meet a vampire," "do you think I can get one to bite me?" and "I can't wait to see that vampire on his throne again. Maybe he'll be interested in me." Everyone seemed to be in la la land as all of their thoughts jumbled together for Maggie. She was quick to put the barrier in her mind back up in order to block out all the voices before she moved in line with her friends.

The Stackhouse girl was viewed as the bright-eyed, homecoming queen to many in her hometown. She was seemingly normal and ordinary to everyone she grew up around. She had her older brother, Jason, who was quite the ladies man, so-to-say, with a handsome face, and her older sister, Sookie who was seen as the weird yet pretty waitress. People in Bon Temps thought Sookie was the weird one in the Stackhouse bunch because of how she was able to know what people were thinking. It was something she just had a hard time hiding. So whenever she would snapback at someone for something nasty they said in their head, they stared at her like she had three heads. It had caught on to a lot of people in town as the years went on so it was the title she carried.

While Maggie Stackhouse, the younger Stackhouse of them all, was "normal" to outsiders. Constantly distracting people with her pretty face, having gotten the good looking genes like her two older siblings. She shared the same gift that her sister had. Though, the only people who knew of that were Sookie, Jason, Gemma, and her Gran. From a young age she had learned to hide it. Due to her being a bit of a control freak when she was younger along with observing how others treated her sister. It left her unsettled as a kid to see people treat Sookie like a freak. Maggie to force herself into hiding her gift. Something that came quite easy to her, which was very opposite for her older sister.

Gemma tugged on Maggie's arm, pulling her to the front of the line. A giddy smile graced on the brunette's face while she watched Dawn hand her ID over to the lady who had dark red lipstick on her lips that paired with her dark red and black outfit. The lady looked like she wished to be anywhere else but where she was, which Maggie could totally understand. If she had to deal with drunk humans with a vampire-admiration all night, she would probably have the same expression.

"ID," The lady said in a monotone voice, Maggie handed her ID over as she peered over it. Her eyebrow arching slightly before her gray-blue eyes locked with Maggie's.

She was one of the vampires the human girl had met before she left. It threw Maggie off slightly since her attire and makeup was quite different from a few years ago. But it only made sense since she was working in a bar now instead of a movie rental store.

"Well, well, well. I assumed you had run away or dead in a ditch somewhere. You never visited the store again before we remodeled and had someone else return those movies you rented," The vampire lady, Pam, if Maggie recalled correctly, said. Gemma who was standing off to the side waiting for Maggie looked at her friend slightly confused.

"Just went abroad for a bit. I see you liked the idea of a bar better than movies," Maggie commented. Pam didn't hide how she scanned the human up and down. Taking in the outfit the girl wore that she instantly thought would look better with a leather jacket instead of a denim one.

Pam hummed, "Yes, it was quite the idea. Clever little thing." Though Pam lacked hint of amusement or any emotions at all when she looked at the line behind the girl. "I'll be seeing you around, Magnolia."

The way her name rolled off Pam's tongue made the girl quickly move. Looking down slightly to hide the slight blush that slowly covered her face. Pam was imitating. Not just because she was a vampire, but because she was also a good-looking woman. Maggie would be a fool to say the vampire wasn't gorgeous. She knew that Pam put her, the very own homecoming queen of Bon Temps High, to shame when it came to looks.

"Maggie, you never said you knew one of the club owners," Gemma whispered. Feeling slightly offended that she wasn't aware of this fact.

"Well, I did tell you I met two vampires before I left Bon Temps. Pam was one of them," Maggie said, shrugging her shoulders while they entered through the doors into the booming building. She didn't want to make it seem like such a big deal. Plus, she wasn't full on expecting to see those particular vampires again. Though the thought of Pam being around made Maggie's mind drift to a specific tall vampire.

Forget it, Magnolia shook the thought off.

Glancing around the room, the blonde girl was suddenly more happy that she closed up her mind before she got into the club because she could only imagine what a slap in the face it would've felt like to get all the voices in her head the moment she walked in. She didn't even need to hear all the thoughts to know what most of the people in the club were thinking.

Sex.

It quite literally reeked of it in the room.

The three girls made their way over to the bar to order drinks. Maggie chose a whiskey sour as her first pick of the night though she knew deep down that she would be mixing her drinks in her time there. Dawn was quickly swallowed into the crowd of people on the dancefloor, losing both the other girls in the process. And after Gemma had downed her drink the girl couldn't help but lightly shake Maggie's shoulders while she glanced around in awe. Maggie knew that it was her way of being told to come along so all the Stackhouse girl did was glance at her drink before taking it all down at once. Letting her friend drag her towards the crowd of people. The warmness from her drink had quickly flushed over her which made Maggie feel a sort of happiness. At that moment, she shrugged off the fact that she was in a place surrounded by vampires and other drunk or horny people.

Maggie let the music take over her body like it had been a drug. The beat took her like it did with everyone else. Swaying her hips while Gemma danced up against her body before the Bellefleur girl gravitated towards some dude with tattoos littering his arms. The blonde girl continued to dance even though the two girls she had come with had disappeared from her spot on the floor.

It had come to a point in her dancing when she felt like there were eyes on her which caused her to scan her area but she came up empty-handed. Brushing it off, the Stackhouse girl, now a little sweaty, made her way back over to the bar. Discarding her jacket down at an empty table on her way to get another drink, her red dress now being on full display which was bound to get more looks her way now that her new confidence seemed to bounce off her.

Praise the alcohol.

"A Malibu Sunrise please," Maggie requested the bartender. He nodded before turning to make the drink. She pulled out her money as the drink was placed in front of her but before she could hand it over the bartender put his hand up.

"It's on the house," He informed her, which caused her to furrow her brows in confusion. He nodded his head in the direction over her shoulders. That made the girl turn around with her drink now in her hand, instantly locking eyes with those icy blue eyes. The same ones that seemed to haunt her since the moment she had first seen them years ago. A line of girls and a few guys stood in front of the stage where the vampire sat on a chair that looked like a throne. It had all made sense when it came to the buzz on the main attraction of Fangtasia. It was him.

Eric Northman.

The blonde vampire sat up on the stage, his eyes darkened beneath the lighting. His stare stuck on Magnolia Stackhouse, ignoring all his admirers who were a few feet in front of him. They were humans he could care less about. His attention was all directed towards the girl. Pam stood behind his chair with a slight smirk on her red painted lips. Clearly she had informed him on their visitor.

Maggie couldn't help but take note of how the vampire looked even more attractive in the chair wearing all black. His hair had grown out since the last time she had seen him. Though she preferred his shorter hair, he still could pull off the look. She raised her glass up slightly in his direction before quickly downing it like it was a shot. The girl then made her way back onto the dancefloor in hopes of getting away from his watchful eye. But his hawk-eyes never seemed to lose the girl who swayed to the music.

Now that her dress was on full display to everyone around her, it was what seemed to help lure people in while she moved her body. Soon she had begun to dance with a guy whose cold hands found their way to rest upon her hips. Instantly knowing the random guy was indeed a vampire by his coldness, the blonde girl tried her best to not tick off the guy in case he had a bad temper. For a while, through a couple of songs the vampire seemed to keep control, not startling the girl. But the more she seemed to dance, the more her scent seemed to be alluring. The smell of her blood guided the vampire closer to her. Before she could really catch onto his movement, he began to move his way towards her neck. Right as he was going to sink his teeth into the blonde's neck, the vampire was pulled away. Maggie's blue eyes settled on Pam who stood there with an amused look while she looked at the vampire.

She clicked her tongue, "Hmm, seemed like you were about to take a bite from the girl without her approval. You and I will be taking a walk." Pam told the vampire before her eyes landed on the blonde human.

"You're wanted by the stage," Pam informed Maggie with a small smirk raising on her lips. The girl didn't have time to protest before the two vampires disappeared. Letting out a small huff, the blonde turned in her place to look at the stage where Eric Northman sat. Eyes still on the girl. He raised his hand, motioning her over with his two fingers. It felt like a phantom chill went down the girl's body at that moment. Almost as if it was a sign to fight the feeling to go towards the man, but her feet still led her across the room before she could even process it.

Eric Northman stood up from his throne-chair, his height along with being on the stage made him tower over everyone even more. Maggie approached the stage where the wall of the vampire admirers stood. In a swift motion, the line of gawking humans parted to let the vampire have a path where the two steps were. He extended his hand out to the Stackhouse girl who never broke her eye contact with the vampires icy blue stare. Her smaller hand instantly fell into his bigger one that tugged her up the stairs closer to him. A tingling sensation continued to flow through her with the physical contact they were making. The blonde vampire looked down at the girl with an emotionless expression. But his eyes were what told a different story. Onlookers would look at the scene, nervous, because the attractive vampire seemed unpredictable. For all they knew, he had brought her on stage because she did something he didn't like. Though his eyes that Maggie was able to read showed that he actually was familiar with her.

His strong tug pulled her even closer into him to where their chests were touching each other. Maggie craned her neck up to keep her eyes on him.

"Magnolia Stackhouse," Eric drawled out, his lips twitching upward for a moment. Something about the way her name rolled off his tongue made her feel warm inside.

"Eric," Maggie nodded her head slightly before her eyes left his face to look off to the side. Scanning the row of people who stared up at the two of them on stage like they were the most fascinating thing. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, slightly uncomfortable by their stares.
"I feel like I'm a zoo animal right now," she breathed out and looked back at the man. That caused him to glance at the people.

"Scram."

The people who were once worshiping him while he sat on the stage quickly dispersed. All of them couldn't help but shake a little at the demand.

"Come. Sit," He motioned the human girl towards the chairs that were besides his throne chair. Maggie moved around his tall stature to claim the side to his left. The Stackhouse girl squirmed a bit in the seat to get comfortable before she scanned the room of people. Some of their eyes were still on her and Eric while others were too consumed in the music and their drinks. It was a nice view that overlooked the bar. She had briefly caught a glance of Gemma in the crowd still accompanied by the guy with tattoos on his arms. The Bellefleur girl still seemed alright so it took a weight off Maggie's shoulders.

"You know, I didn't think you would actually take my idea," Maggie motioned to the bar in general. "If I had known, I would've made you shake on it for a percentage of it."

Eric couldn't help but smirk slightly before he shrugged.

"It was a smart idea. It has been an easier way to make more money."

"Yeah. Smart idea. The only reason why it was smart is because I came up with it. You should've contacted me with a simple, 'Hey, it was a good idea. We're going to use it.' At least a little heads up would have been nice and all. Boost my ego a little," Maggie rambled on. She was a little nervous in his presence, but her talking was enough to mask all of that.

The male vampire looked at her in amusement at her rambling. It was quite entertaining to him.

"Well, what if I did look for you to let you know we were going through with the idea. But low and behold, you were gone with the wind," Eric raised his eyebrow at her. Maggie turned from looking at all the strangers in the room to glance at the vampire beside her whose eyes pierced her own.

Really? He actually looked for me? She thought, though shook it off. He had to be bluffing.

"Shame. For a vampire, you somehow ended up being too slow," Maggie couldn't help but tease the man. Somehow, the thought of him being a big scary vampire went over her head in that moment. She was talking to him comfortably. If anyone else would've been talking to the man like that, they wouldn't have their tongues anymore. But a little fire lit deep within Eric as the blonde human girl talked to him.

Eric clicked his tongue, shaking his head.

"What brings you to Fangtasia tonight? Alcohol, boredom, pleasure?" The smirk worked its way back to his lips on the last thing he listed off.

Maggie couldn't help but let a scoff escape past her lips. Such a man thing to think of. Head instantly in the gutter.

"Oh shove off. Even if it was for pleasure, you would probably be the last person on that list," Maggie told him, even if part of it wasn't necessarily true.

"Are you sure about that?" Eric questioned. He felt a challenge stirring in him. "If so, then at least you'd save the best for last. I'd make you forget about any person you've been with before that."

His confidence radiating off of him. He looked off into the crowd of bodies.

"Whatever helps you sleep during the day," she rolled her eyes. "You know you're a lot more forward than when I first met you. Which is humorous to me, since you still tried to flirt with me then. And I came with my friend and one of the waitresses from Merlotte's Bar and Grill in Bon Temps just to scope out the place."

"Which one is the friend?" Eric asked, though he was already aware of one of the girls she was with earlier when she first walked into the club. It was as if he could sense Magnolia right when she came inside. He had instantly known that familiar feeling that coursed through his body like the first day he had met her.

The blonde human pointed towards the brunette girl who was sucking faces with the stranger.

"She looks delectable," Eric mentioned. Maggie quickly whipped her head to turn towards the vampire with a scowl on her face.

"She's off-limits."

"I mean, right now she doesn't seem too off-limits," Eric pointed out. Trying his best to get a rise out of the girl. It brought him slight excitement feeling the emotions she emitted off herself flip.

"Off-limits to you. You. Do not touch her," Maggie declared, crossing her arms over her chest.

Eric chuckled at the girl beside him, "If she were to come up to me right now offering herself, how could I refuse such a treat?"

Maggie turned her body slightly towards him, a cold glare coming from her. It could've made him shiver if he wasn't already cold to the touch.

"You say no. Simple as that."

"And what if I snag a taste of her?" He challenged, leaning closer towards Maggie. She leaned in closer, not backing down from his intense look.

"You will be a very dickless vampire, Mr. Northman."

A click echoed the small space in between them, his fangs on display.

"I don't take well to threats, Miss Stackhouse," Eric lowly growled. Though it would be a lie that he wasn't turned on by her fierceness.

"Good thing it's not a threat. It's a promise," The blonde girl stood up from her spot and was quick to walk down the stairs. Needing to walk off the emotions that were starting to bubble up. Knowing the attitude brewing in her would get her into trouble if she stayed any longer in the vampire's vicinity. Though the further away she got from the stage he was on, the fainter the tingling sensation became for not just her but the vampire as well.

To Maggie he was undeniably attractive. She knew that from the moment she met him in the movie rental store. But even just being close to him stirred a whole new batch of emotions which seemed to be unpredictable to Maggie. Clearing her head the more she got further away from him. She realized she was an idiot for how she was talking to him. Though she couldn't help but question why he didn't rip her head off at the first hint of venom dripping from her tongue.

All she could wonder now was if it was even a good idea coming back to Louisiana. Maybe she should've stayed away. However, there was this invisible pull she had felt and tried to ignore for some time until she gave in. She had been drawn back home and it was only a matter of time before she found out why. Though, she would be thrown to hell and back with how things were going to unfold.

And that's the first chapter of Teeth.
I've been sitting on that chapter for a couple of months.
I know it might have seemed to jump right into it but I also didn't want to start it like the usual story of it right with Bill walking into Merlotte's.
Maggie and Eric have met before. And there will be a more in-depth flashback of that moment she met him before she moved away.

Feel free to interact with the chapter!
I hope you liked chapter one.
