❝ trivia ❞

here are some facts, achievements and q/a about this story.

facts:
✓ this is my longest written book with 1o1 chapters (including prologue).

✓ while I was writing this, I had two more wips of which one has been completed, while the other still stays on a standstill.

✓ tbh, I never thought of a sequel to teenage dream, but I must give the praise to satosere16 whose comments on the same encouraged me to write this one. hats off to ya, pal. without you, this book wouldn't be existing.

✓ this book is my first book to reach #1 on its main plot (amourshipping).

✓ I don't ever plan on changing the cover of this book because of how much hardwork I put into drawing it. :')

✓ the Ash in this story comes apart with his real character in the anime. this is because I wanted to show the traumatized, sad part of him that's briefly shown in the episode 'the distant blue sky'.

✓ this book is inspired by a real life story. no, this isn't from a famous personality, but from a friend's. Ash is based on that friend of mine.

✓ I hadn't planned for the 1ooth chapter to be the epilogue, but when I finished it and looked at the number, it coincided.

✓ the chapter titles are of Teenage Dream's epilogue and Teenage Nightmare's are the same: under the starry skies.

achievements:
I haven't put this story in any awards because I seldom see an awards show with pokémon as a fanfic category. besides, I only wrote this for the readers of teenage dream and to improve myself in terms of writing.

here are the rankings it has achieved until now:

#1 in amourshipping (22/September/2o24)

#4 in amourshipping (2o/September/2o24)

#1 in mayxdrew (14/November/2o24)

q/a:
so I got this one question from one of my favourite readers, satosere16:

the reason why Ash acts obsessed is because he has not known love or care ever since he turned ten. even if his parents and friends in Pallet loved him prior, he was too young to comprehend it. and I wouldn't call Ash obsessed. he just wants attention from the one person who's been there with him when no one else was and when everyone tossed away their helping hands from him: Serena.

the entire reason for them falling apart towards the end of the book is so that Ash can let go of his possessiveness and heal from being unable to find love to being able to love the family who, seemed to him, had abandoned him. so that's going to be his character development for this book.

you see a mature Ash in the epilogue, so I guess that settles it? I'm not sure about the sequel to this one, but I might consider it. the prequel to it all is what I might think about.

I hope I sated your concern, pal. if not, I'm always up to answer! thank you for your feedback!

Here's the second one by another favourite reader of mine: SugarCookieQwQ!

Okay, since I based this story on my real life, even the incidents of Anistar and Kalos High are inspired by the same. There wasn't a deeper intent for it other than character development of Ash and his relationship dynamic with Serena.

The first time, you see him as a quick and energetic co-leader, willing to go to any length just to please Serena and Professor Sycamore. He wants to defeat Calem to prove his worth.

The second time, the arc has gotten complicated with an arc of his own family. The stakes are high for him here. If he messes it, he might lose the chance of proving himself as a capable son, and a probable future CEO of their new business.

But here's where you see the change. He's no longer willing to prove himself to Serena. He already knows she sees him in an admirable light, and so does Professor Sycamore. All he does is assure Serena that he'll be fine, even if he himself isn't sure of that. He's willing to take help, this time even heeding Calem's advice rather than going against him. His perspective on Calem changes as well, and he struggles to keep his possessiveness over Serena in check (especially when she hugs Drew, but not him). You also see his selfless side shine through when he tries denying what he actually did.

Another thing is the trauma reveal. In the first episode of Anistar and Kalos High, Serena is reminded of the times when Ash was bullied in a prior summer camp that takes place three years ago. This makes her more withdrawn, even fearful of losing Ash. She doesn't feel fine until he himself comforts her. Yes, that's supposed be a prequel to Teenage Dream, and is the one under planning right now.

As for the relationship dynamic, you see Ash and Serena progressing from their awkward comfort zone with each other in the first arc to their mature, understanding selves. That is, in my eyes, how relationships work.

Personally, such events where my friend and I would get sabotaged were the ones that actually brought out the best in us and incorporated a team work that might not have been achievable easily. That's the entire incidents based on. They might seem out of place, I suppose, but I really just wanted those events to accelerate their character development.

I hope this was not a rushed explanation lol. I might try to expand on this later when I find time. What are your thoughts on this, pal? ;D

that's all the questions I have received until now. if I do receive anymore, I'll add them here! until then.

Miyoko xoxo
