*A month later...*

*Time Skip: The Night Hour*

Leo's P.O.V.

While Mars and I were watching Brianna, I still felt bad from this past month now. I was still thinking about why she did that for me.

'Why would she do this for me?' I thought to myself really hard.

Little did I know was that Brianna groaned softly and she fluttered her brown eyes. Mars was roaring twice and that was the signal.

"Roar! Roar!"

*gasp*

"Brianna?" I asked.

"Hey Leonardo."

"Guys! Guys! Get up here!" I shouted.

My friends all ran upstairs to see that Brianna was awake.

"Brianna?"

"Hey guys." she said softly.

"Brianna! You're okay!" Mikey hugged her.

"It's okay Mikey. Ow, that hurts."

"Take it easy Mike." I said to him.

"Oh, sorry about that Bre."

"That's okay."

"Come on Bre. Let's bring you up and have Donnie check up on you." I said as I grabbed her hand.

*After her check-up*

"So we've been here for a whole month? And I've been out for that long?" she asked.

"Yeah. We were all worried sick about you. Mars and Leo barely had some sleep." April said.

"You guys did that for me?" she asked us.

"Roar!" Mars responded.

"Aww... I'm feeling appreciated by you guys. Thanks guys, you're so sweet." Brianna said as she picked up her tiger friend and kissed his forehead.

"It was nothing, really." I said as I was blushing. She smiled at me and gave me a kiss on my forehead which made me blush harder. I heard her giggle a bit which caused me to go all red and embarrassed, but I didn't mind.

April's P.O.V.

A while later, Donnie asked her a few questions personally about what happened during the invasion in her room. While we were waiting, we were watching Mikey's new favorite show in his room. When Donnie came back with Brianna and the results, we checked all of the answers which made our eyes growing surprisingly big. Leo didn't know what was wrong with us.

"What is it Donnie? What's wrong?" Leo asked.

"It appears that Brianna has gotten the scar from Shredder's gauntlets. The scar is pretty big."

"Will she ever heal from it?" Mikey asked.

"I'm not sure. It might disappear after a few days or she might have that scar forever."

"Was there anything she said?"

"In a matter of fact, yes she has. It says here that her parents had an encounter with the Shredder. Her answer says that she was hidden in a closet and she saw him murdering her family, right in front of her eyes."

"Oh no! So her family is gone?"

"Yes. I'm afraid so..."

"My god Brianna. I am so sorry that this happened to you." I said as I was hugging her tightly. I knew that this was all of my fault if I had brought that fake Irma-Droid to the lair that started the Kraang invasion. I was about to say something else to he; but Brianna sighed, got up from the Mikey's bed, and walked away from us. Mars ran after her down the stairs and out of the house.

"I'll go see if she's okay." Leo said as he was heading downstairs leaving us behind.

Leo's P.O.V.

When I came to see her in the moonlight, she was on the garden porch swing with Mars sitting by her side. And from the looks of it, she was so upset she couldn't hold the tears in any longer. Her tears were glittering on her eyelashes and I couldn't stand to see her like this. So I sat down next to her and started talking to her.

"Hey Brianna. I'm really sorry about your loss. This was my fault for your family's death and the scar."

"It's not your fault Leo. It was my fault. I should've stopped Shredder while I had the chance. And then my parents would still be alive."

"Don't beat yourself up. There was nothing you could do about it. They wanted you to be safe from the enemy."

"Yeah, you're right. Heh. You know, that's what my father told me a while back. And I knew this day was coming."

"How could you tell?" I asked.

"About 20 years ago, The Shredder wanted my father to be in the Foot Clan. But it was my great-grandfather's good friend who asked him to be in the Hamato Clan. He joined the Hamatos and Saki grew mad. The Shredder had swore revenge to my father 1 day to kill him for not joining the Foot. From the past 17 to 18 years now, he met my mother in America and started living there after he escaped from Japan. It was then and there until they expected me, so they got married and gave birth to me. I was their beloved, precious daughter forever. Like a blue treasured jewel."

"Wow..."

"My father told me lots of stories about the feud of the clans and how it all started. A while back before I met you guys, he told me by the time I turn 18 years old, I would get a special present."

"It's on your birthday and it's next week, right?"

"Yeah. But I'll never be able to celebrate it with my parents, they're gone forever." she said sadly.

"So he killed your family because of a decline invitation from your father?"

"Yeah. And the Shredder has taken my family from me. From the world..."

"Brianna, can I ask you something?"

"Sure. What is it?"

"I wanted to ask you this question. Why did you take the Shredder's attack on yourself to protect me?" I was very curious, and I wanted to know why.

"Because... I... I... I didn't want to lose you." her voice started to break.

*gasp*

"Oh Brianna..."

"You're my best special friend that I don't want to lose. You guys are the only friends I've got, and you guys always make me feel good inside and happy. Like... like... my parents..."

She started to cry and I embraced her in a hug, holding her really close to my plastron. I used my hands rubbed her back and I hugged her for my dear life.

"Shh... It's okay Brianna. I know what it's like to lose someone that you care about the most." I said to her as I hushed her with my warm and gentle voice.

She cried herself to sleep on my plastron and I carried her to bed bridal style in the farmhouse. After I tucked her in bed, I laid down on my bed and watched her sleep throughout the whole night.

April's P.O.V.

*April's Journal Entry Starts Again*

'During those last few days, Michelangelo was doing some of the chores around the house. He sometimes feeds the animals, but most of the time he still goofs around a lot. Raphael was working on firewood duty and he loved doing that job, especially when he needed more of the muscle work.'

'Leo was still healing and he was with Brianna all the way. Most of the time, they take turns watching each other while they sleep, watch tv, or whatever they do together. I always think that those 2 care about each other a lot. Even though I still kept Leo's secret because he's enveloped feelings for Brianna. Hopefully she's having those same feelings for Leo back.'

'Donatello made himself a lab in the barn. He was working on a mutagenic medicine to heal Leo. Casey brought some medical supplies from his home so they could heal Brianna's large injury. Casey was working on an old truck in the garage next to Donnie. Sometimes I don't get why those 2 even hang out, I always think they hated each other, oh well.'

'Mars likes to bring the team food, drinks, and some other things to them when they needed it. He's always being a cute and helpful tiger. Sometimes, he likes to look out for Brianna, Leo, and the whole team as well. But most of the time, he goes into the woods to take a stroll and sometimes comes back with an object that might come in handy for some time. Brianna's very lucky to have an intelligent tiger by her side.'

'And then there's me, April O'Neil. I continue to write what was happening to us in this ever-lasting journal. I'm still continuing my ninja training with the turtles except for 2 of our members. Man, I miss New York, my sensei, and my dad. Hopefully Leo and Brianna will recover soon and we can all go home, even if there is a home to go back to. But life, as Master Splinter would say must continue on.'
