Chapter One

"I'm telling you," Brooke and Jade made their way up to the bleachers during their study hall for some fresh air and away time from the older teens. "He's in love with me." The Carter girl gushed.

"And he has a girlfriend." Brooke reminded her. "And is my brother," She added with a slight disgusted face.

"How does Jade Stilinski sound?" She ignored her friend's words and leaned her head against the palm of her hand. Her face brightened, "And you can be my sister in law!"

Brooke shook her head with a chuckle escaping from her. "Are you sure you're able to compete against a werecoyote?"

Jade's eyes turned yellow. "Oh please, what's the difference? Her eyes glow blue and mines glow yellow." She deadpanned.

"Turn your eyes back to normal before someone sees!" Brooke scolded. Jade rolled her yellow ones before switching back to her regular color.

The whistle blew and Brooke's attention turned towards the field. She saw one particular goalie that stood out to her the most since they were the one catching the balls with ease.

"Who the hell is that?" Jade murmured with raised eyebrows.

The unknown goalie took off his mask, revealing himself. Someone whistled at his attractive looks and Brooke's eyes remained on him. He looked familiar but she just couldn't seem to remember.

"Nice, Liam," Garret complimented. "You might just be our first ever freshman captain."

Liam turned his head towards the direction of the bleachers, his eyes landing on Brooke. He sighed when her attention was off to somewhere else as she chatted with the girl beside her. "She didn't notice?"

Garret scoffed. "Don't worry about some chick. You're gonna have a lot if you put those skills of yours on the field."

Liam didn't respond, his light blue ones still glued onto the Stilinski girl.

The golden-haired boy knew who Brooke Stilinksi was. Everyone from Devenford Preparatory Academy looked up at her in admiration. As soon as Liam laid eyes on her, he knew they were meant to be. Soulmates maybe.

He called himself delusional but he didn't care. Every guy she went out with didn't know a single thing about her. He knew everything and adored every flaw she had.

"Liam!"

The teen snapped out of his trance and looked over at Garret. "You coming or what?" He raised his lacrosse stick.

Liam glanced at Brooke once more before following after Garret and the others.

"I need some advice," Brooke teared her gaze from her book and looked at Kira who had a nervous look on. The two stood near Brooke's locker as the other students passed by.

The younger teen furrowed her eyebrows. "Well hello to you too." Brooke closed her book with a chuckle escaping her.

Kira sighed, "Sorry I'm just sorta freaking out here."

"What's up?"

"What would you do if someone kisses you and it was unexpected but you kissed them before so now it's kinda awkward and now you don't know if you should tell them that you're moving."

Brooke blinked. "You're moving?" She inquired, ignoring all the other information Kira rambled about.

"Yeah." The Yukimura girl murmured. "Now tell me, what should I do?"

"Um." Brooke hummed. "Maybe break the news to them?" She raised her eyebrow, "Wait. . . are you talking about Scott?"

"What?" Kira's eyes widened. "No," she lied.

Brooke narrowed her eyes. "You're lying." She pointed out.

"Okay fine I am." The fox sighed. Brooke gasped in surprise and clapped her hands in excitement of the idea of her friend and Scott being together.

"I knew something was going on between you two."

"Really?" Kira's face brightened up. "Do you think he likes me?"

"I mean," Brooke shrugged. "You did just tell me y'all kissed before right?" She laughed at her ridiculous question.

"Right." Kira let out a short chuckle. "Well, I'll see you at lacrosse tryouts?"

"Yup," Brooke nodded. "Bye!" She walked away with books in her hands and turned the corner, leaving Liam's view who was leaning against the locker beside his friends, Mason blabbering about a new video game he just bought.

"Hey man, you listening?" Mason glanced at a zoned out Liam. "Hello?" He stretched out and waved a hand in front of his face.

The Dunbar boy perked up. "Sorry what?" He turned his attention back onto Mason that wore a deadpan expression.

"You were staring at Brooke weren't you?"

"What?" Liam blew out a breath, his voice higher than usual. "No!" He exclaimed.

"You're totally whipped dude." Mason rolled his eyes as he closed his locker and began walking away.

Liam furrowed his eyebrows. "What are you talking about? No I'm not." He trailed behind his friend.

"If you say so."

"I'm not!"

"Okay dude."

"Mason!"

"Over here!" Malia waved over the two freshman's. Brooke and Jade climbed up to the top bleachers before sitting down with the werecoyote and Kira.

The Lacrosse tryouts began, Coach Finstock blowing the whistle as he watched the players run by him. Stiles collapsed on the grass and continued to pant crazily, causing Brooke to face palm herself.

Scott helped up his best friend and Jade snorted at the boys until her gaze fell onto a certain freshman who was doing pushups after the first run, not a single sweat falling.

Jade leaned towards Brooke. "Was this dude made in a lab or something?"

The brunette followed her eyes, her blue ones landing on Liam. She pulled her eyebrows together, "I swear I know him from somewhere."

"He's probably the man of your dreams," Jade joked lightly.

"Haha." Brooke rolled her eyes. "Very funny of you."

"Okay but you gotta admit." The blonde smirked at Brooke that was still staring at Liam. "He's pretty attractive."

"Shut up," Brooke playfully nudged her side.

The second part of tryouts started, which was to make goals inside the net. Stiles was up first and Brooke bit her nail nervously.

He threw the ball with good force but instead of it hitting the white net behind the goalie, Stiles gave him less work to do since it landed perfectly inside his lacrosse stick.

Brooke sighed and closed her eyes out of embarrassment. The players behind him laughed at his mistake, Jade holding in her laugh from where she was sitting at.

Liam was up next and Brooke's attention was fully on him now. He picked up the ball with his stick before taking a step forward and sending the ball flying towards the net, him successfully scoring.

The boys behind him cheered and Liam turned his head towards the bleachers, meeting Brookes gaze. He had a slight smirk creep onto his lips and quietly cheered for himself for getting her attention.

Jade raised a brow and glanced between the tension from across the field. "Someone has an eye on you," she grinned towards Brooke.

The brunette cleared her throat and faced Jade. "No he doesn't," she cocked her head.

"Hm," The Carter girl hummed and turned her focus back onto the tryouts. Scott ran forward at his turn, the white ball leaving his stick and passing the goalie, giving everyone hope but it quickly faltered when it hit the orange rim instead.

Laughter filled the field and Brooke cringed at the sight. "Nice, McCall." Garret chuckled.

"Hey Garret," Stiles raised his eyebrows. "Shut up!"

The tryouts continued and Liam kept scoring inside the net with ease. Brooke's curiosity with the boy grew more as she watched him. But for Scott and Stiles, things weren't going well for them.

They kept missing completely. "What is up with them?" Jade laughed and looked away from the scene played in front of them.

"Isn't the captain supposed to be one of the best players on the team?" Kira asked the three girls. "Or good?"

Malia shrugged and looked back down at her textbook. "Brooke," the fox began. "I hate to ask you this but can't you help Scott out and do your witchy thing?"

Brooke leaned her head back with a pointed look. "It's cheating." She responded with. "And also it's obvious that Scott's not using his own powers so maybe he actually wants to try to earn his spot by being himself."

"Clearly it's not working." Malia deadpanned.

"She has a point." Jade agreed.

Coach Finstock blew into the whistle, "McCall and Stilinski, grab the long sticks. You're covering goal for two-on-ones. Let's go! Line it up!" Scott and Stiles grabbed their helmets and sticks, standing at the center of the open net.

Garret was the first one up and stalked closely towards the two boys to try to get past them but failed miserably when Scott knocked the ball out of his stick. "That's my boys!" Coach exclaimed.

"Yes!" Kira smiled brightly.

"Finally!" Jade clapped. "After a million years!" She called out.

After Garret, another guy tried escaping them to score but Scott and Stiles managed to bring him down to the grass. "Yes!" Brooke beamed.

Every time the whistle rung, there was always a guy who ended up on the ground due to Scott and Stiles's goalie skills.

"That's how you do it! That's how it's done!"

Brooke laughed as she watched Stiles and Scott chest bump each other, resulting in Stiles falling on the grass.

Liam stepped forward, a glare covering his blue ones. He swung the stick on the grass before landing it on the palm of his hand. He picked up the ball with his stick, a short ring rung out.

The young teen charged forward, dodging Stiles and even Scott's forceful swing. Liam spun around and threw his ball, it passing the goalie and making the net.

The line cheered for him and Kira groaned in disappointment. "I swear nobody can beat this dude, it's actually making me mad!" Jade growled.

Brooke huffed and Malia frowned when noticing her friend's faces. The coyote stood up, "That was luck!" She yelled out. Her three friends looked up at her with bewildered looks.

"Oh no, Malia. Don't get involved." Stiles murmured.

"Do-over!"

Coach Finstock turned around. "Sweetheart, there's no do-overs. This is a practice."

"Ten bucks on Scott and Stiles."

"I'll take that action." He pointed at the girl before facing his players again. "Hey! Get back in there, Liam!"

"I definitely got to record this." Jade pulled out her phone with a smirk.

Stiles's face dropped. Brooke's knee bounced repeatedly, her attention focused on her brother, Scott and Liam. With the sound of the whistle, Liam ran past Stiles yet again but Scott bent down and flipped over the freshman.

A crack echoed, everyone's eyes widened. "Oh shit." Brooke mumbled.

"Don't move! Don't touch him!" Coach ran towards a hurt Liam.

"I'm okay, Coach. I'm alright." Liam reassured. He tried standing up but a yell of pain escaped from his lungs.

Scott and Stiles helped him up, throwing his arms around their shoulders. "I think it's my leg," Liam breathed out.

"I think we better get him to the nurse." Coach nodded at Stiles's suggestion and they began to take Liam away.

"You guys take a lap. Run around. Start running around the field! Stupid!" The coach yelled and grabbed a ball from the ground before throwing it towards the bleachers out of anger.

Jade was too focused on her phone that she didn't notice the harm that was coming her way until Brooke quickly caught it with her hand.

"Oh!" Coach gasped and placed a hand on his mouth. "Wow! Nice catch, young Stilinski!" He exclaimed.

The teen's eyes were widened. "Throw it back!" He ordered. Brooke stood up and swung her arm forward, the ball coming at full force towards the mans chest.

"Ah!" He screamed out and fell onto the ground.

"Oh my god–" Brooke stumbled back.

"Someone ask her if she's ever played lacrosse!"
