A couple hours later...

Jessica's phone rings.

"Hello?"

"Hey baby, you snuck off on me. You okay?"

"I'm fine. Sorry I didn't say anything, but you were busy."

"Oh it's fine. So, what were you gonna tell me?"

"What?"

"You said you needed to talk to me."

"Oh yeah.. Uh.. It's nothing."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you coming tonight?"

"To what?"

"My game! I told you this one was important, remember?"

"Oh yeah! Sorry! Yeah, I'll be there."

"Really?! Awesome!"

"Yeah.. Listen, I'll see you tonight. Be good, baby."

"I will. You be careful."

Jane see's Jessica leaving, so she follows her.

"Jessica wait!  Have you talked to him?"
"Not yet.  I'm going to his game right now."
"What are you gonna do?"
"Well I was gonna tell him before, but he has these important people coming from out of state to watch him play.  So I don't want to tell him and then he's distracted the whole game."
"Yeah, I see your point."
"Yeah.. Well I'll see you in a few hours."
"Alright.  Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine.  Thanks."

Jessica sat with Sarah in the stands as they watched their boyfriends play.
"I'll be back, I'm gonna get a hotdog.  Do you want anything?" Sarah asks.
"No, I'm good.  Thanks."
"Alright."

Jessica was still having morning sickness at all times of the day and pretty much everything she smelled made her sick.

"Look at this!" Sarah says as she comes back balancing a popcorn, hotdog, a drink and some candy.
"Nice." Jessica smiles.
But as soon as the smell of the hotdog hit her nose, she got nauseated.
"I'll be right back." She puts her hand on her stomach and takes a deep breath.

She runs into the bathroom and throws up.

Afterwards she rinses her mouth out and takes a piece of gum out of her purse.

She runs her hand through her hair and then looks in the mirror and looks down to her stomach as she slowly runs her hand over it.

She sighs then jumps when someone walks into the bathroom.
Jessica smiles at the girl that walked in then walks back to the game.

She got back just in time to see Danny shine.

"GO DANNY!" She yelled with the crowed.
Danny ran up to the stands and she walked over to meet him by the gate.
"You're killing it, baby!" She smiles.
"I know!  This night is so perfect!  Listen, after the game, meet me at the cabin."
"Alright." She smiles.
He kisses her then goes back to the field.

"Woo!  Go baby!" She cheers him on.
"Everyone loves him, Jess!  That boy has such a big future ahead of him."
"I know." She smiles.
"I couldn't think of a more perfect couple!  Those colleges are going to love him!  Man I wish I was you!"
"Hah!  Yeah, me too."
"What?"
"Huh?  Oh, nothing." She smiles.

After the game she drove over to the cabin and waited for Danny.

This is it, Jessica.  You're gonna tell him.  That's it!  You're gonna look him in the eyes and say, Danny, I'm pregnant.
It's gonna be okay.

Danny drove up in his truck and got out and hugged her.
"Hello beautiful."
"Hi baby.  You were so amazing tonight!" She smiles then kisses his lips.
"Thank you!  You know I couldn't do it without the support of my number one girl!"
"Aw, you're so sweet."

Danny picks her up and puts her on the back of his truck.

They lay there under a blanket and talk for hours.

Jessica's POV.

I know I should tell him now.  I know it's the perfect time.  We're alone, he's happy.. But I want just one more night where we're normal teenagers.  I want to enjoy our last night just being Jessica and Danny.. Not Jessica, Danny and baby.
I'll tell him tomorrow.  I swear.

The next day Danny was in his football uniform on the field by himself.
Jessica went up to him and said, "Danny, I need to talk to you."
"Sure, what is it, baby?"
"Let's walk.." She looks up into his eyes.
"Okay." Danny says concerned.

Danny holds her hand and turns to her as they walk, "Is everything okay?"
"No.."
"What happened?"
"Well Danny.. There's something I need to tell you and I don't know how to say it."
"Baby, you know you can tell me anything.  Now what's wrong?"
Jessica swallows hard and looks up at him.
"Danny, I'm pregnant."
Danny's smile fades and he drops her hand.
"Pregnant?"
Jessica nods her head yes and he says, "You're pregnant?  Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I took a test already and it came back positive."
"Well, are you sure it's mine?"
"Danny!  What the fuck?!  Of course it's yours!  Why the hell would you even question that?" She gets irritated.
"Yeah, I'm sorry... Oh my God.  Pregnant!  You're pregnant!" He steps away from her.
"How did this happen?  We can't have a baby right now!  That wasn't in my plan!" His voice gets loud.
"Well it wasn't in my plan either, Danny!"
"Jesus!  Well, what are you gonna do?"
"I don't know, I wanted to talk to you first."
"Jessica, are you sure that you are?" He gets closer to her.
"Yes, Danny!"
"Dammit!" He turns to the wall and slams his fist into it making her jump.
"We can't have a baby right now!  We're seniors in high school.. We-we.. We have our whole lives ahead of us!  Our parents are going to fucking murder us!"
"Yeah, I know." She scoffs.
Danny grabs his head in hhis hands and says, "I can't talk about this right now.  I need to- to... I need a drink." He walks away from her.

Jessica stands there shocked at his reaction.
She knew that he wouldn't be happy, but she didn't know he would be like this.

She gets home just in time for dinner, but tells her mom that she doesn't feel like eating.
"I'm just gonna go take a shower."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'll get something later."

Jane excuses herself and follows her upstairs.

"Jessica, are you okay?" She knocks on her door.

She opens the door and has tears rolling down her face.
"Are you okay?"
"I told Danny."
"Oh God, what did he say?"
"He said that a baby wasn't in his plan right now."
"And it was in yours?" Jane gets irritated.
"Exactly!  Anyway, he was just really upset and.. And now I just don't know what to do." She sighs and wipes her eyes with a tissue.
"He said that our parents are going to kill us.. Which is true... Listen, I can't tell mom and dad.. So I need your help."
"You want me to tell them?"
"No, of course not!  I just need you to come to the doctors with me.  Jane, I can't have this baby... I'm gonna have an abortion."
"Jessica no!  Think about adoption, but not that.  Please!"
"No Jane, I can't.  I don't even want them to know I had sex!  I can't tell them that I'm pregnant!"
"Jessica, please think about what you're saying."
"I'm saying Danny and I can go back to our happy lives and mom and dad never have to know about this!"
"You are talking about killing your baby!"
"Well what am I supposed to do then?!" Jessica yells.
"I don't know, just thin about it, please.  I'll take you to the doctor, but just for your first appointment.. I won't take you to get an abortion.. I'm sorry, Jess but I can't."
"You said you would support me no matter what!"
"I will, Jessica!  I just can't support that!"
Jessica rolls her eyes and says, "Fine. We'll go to the doctors but I can't have this baby. Not right now." She nods and tears form in her eyes.
"You have to realize that this baby will be growing inside of Me for the next nine months! I'm the one that has to go through the pregnancy and the labor! I have to give birth and nurse the baby, feed the baby, raise the baby! How am I supposed to do that at seventeen? How am I supposed to do that alone?!"
"You're not alone!"
"Yes I am!" She fights back tears.

That night Danny snuck into her bedroom.

"What are you doing here Danny?" She asks irritated.
"I need to know for sure!  Here, take this!" He takes a pregnancy test out of his jacket pocket and hands it to her.
"Danny, I already told you!"
"I know, but I have to see it for myself.  Just take it, please!"

Jessica slams her bathroom door and takes the test.
When she comes back out she holds the test in her hand and says, "Pregnant!  Do you see that, Danny?!  It says pregnant! I'm pregnant!"
Danny grabs it from her and stares at it.
"No you're not!  No you're not!" He shakes it like that's gonna do anything then throws it on the ground.
"Danny, get out!  This is not an easy time for me and you're not making it any easier, so please just get out!"
"I just don't see how this happened.."
"Don't see how it happened?  I told you not to cum inside of me, you asshole!" She hits his chest.
"But you took the morning after pill!"
"Yeah well, it obviously didn't work."
Danny rubs his head and says, "Jessica.. I can't be a father right now.  I don't want to be a dad in high school."
"Danny, my goal was not to be a pregnant teen, or to be a mom in my senior year of high school!  But don't worry about it, you're not gonna have to deal with it."
"What do you mean?"
"I'll talk about it in the morning.  I'm tired.  Can you please leave?"
"Fine.."

That was the first time since they've been dating that he leaves without kissing her first.
Jessica laid in bed and cried herself to sleep.

I can't lose this relationship. I can't have this baby.. I can't.

A few days later...

Jessica was in her bra and underwear in her bathroom before school.
She looked in the mirror and looked down at her stomach to see a teeny tiny baby bump forming.
"Oh my God!" She whispers as she runs her hand over it.
"I'm sorry.. But I can't be your mom... You deserve so much better than me." She says to the baby with a shaky voice as she looks down at her stomach.

Jane picked Jessica up from school and took her to the doctors office from there.

She laid back on the examination table with her hand on her stomach.

"It's starting to poke out and I hate it!"
"Jessica stop it! That's your baby."
"No it's not."
"Stop being a brat! Now, you got yourself into this, don't be like that just because you were irresponsible!"
Jessica rolls her eyes and looks down.
"If they ask me if I want to have an ultrasound, I'm saying no."
"Why?"
"Because I can't see it.."
"Why? Do you think you'll change your mind?"
".. I don't know."

"Hello, Ms. Lange." The doctor walks in.
"Hi.."
"So Jessica.. You think you're pregnant?"
"No, I know I'm pregnant. I took two home pregnancy tests, I've been extremely sick and my stomach it starting to poke out."
"Alright, then let's go ahead and do an ultrasound right now."
"Right now?"
"Yes, do you have time?"
"Yes, but I don't want to see it!" She panics.
"Jessica, just do the ultrasound."
Jessica looks at Jane like a scared little girl.
"I don't want to."
Jane stands up and grabs her hands, then bends down to be face to face with her.
"Okay, listen to me. If you look on this screen and still feel the same way.. Then I'll take you right now to get it done. But only if you can look at your baby, and feel absolutely no regret for doing what you want to do. Okay?"
"Fine.."
"Alright. Go ahead, Doctor." Jane tells him.

"Okay. First we're gonna listen for the heartbeat." The doctor puts heart doppler on her stomach.
Jessica's eyes widen and fill with tears when she hears her baby's heart.
"That's the baby?"
"Yes it is."
"Whoa..."
Jane smiles and holds her hand.

"Everything sounds good, now let's see your baby." The doctor says as he puts the cold gel on her stomach.

Jessica looks at the screen and see's what looks like black and white scribble with a small peanut in the middle.
"You see this right here?" The doctor points.
"What is that?" She asks.
"That's the baby!" Jane laughs with teary eyes.
"Oh my God. It's so small."
"Yes it is.  It looks like you're about 8 weeks pregnant."
Jessica's lips quiver as she sees her little baby on the monitor.
"That's my baby!" She says in almost a whisper with a smile on her face and a tear rolling down her cheek, as Jane puts her arm around her and lays her head on hers.
