A happy time
That evening Danny and Jessica were able to sneak out for a couple hours alone.
"It's nice being here with you.. looking up at those beautiful stars.. it's like I can escape everything going on in my life..
I feel like we're the only two here on this earth together."
Danny just stares up to the sky.
"Danny?"
"Sorry. Yeah, it's beautiful.. and you're beautiful."
Jessica gives him a smile.
"Thank you, love."
A few minutes of pure silence pass.
"Danny, what if I'm pregnant? We're eighteen.."
Danny takes a deep breath.
"I don't know. I honestly don't know what we'll do, Jess. Especially if it's another girl."
Jessica laughs. "Come on, you love your princesses!"
"I do! More than anything, Jessica. But holy cow do I need a boy!"
Jessica giggles and cuddles into Danny.
"Whatever happens.. we can get through it together." Danny softly rubs Jessica's arm.
"Yeah..
We can."

The next morning.
Danny and Jessica got the girls ready to head over to Jessica's doctors appointment.
"Elaina!" Jessica groans.
"What'd she do now?" Danny asks.
"She pooped everywhere!"
"Elaina, you're already dressed."
Elaina laughs at her father.
Just then Dorothy knocks on their bedroom door.
"Come in!"
"What are you doing? You're taking the girls with you?"
"We kinda have to.. they're ours."
"Leave them with me and you two go. Uh oh! Did someone make a messy!" Dorothy makes a face as she baby talks Elaina.
"Dada!" She says so clearly as she points to her father.
Jessica's face lights up. "Did you hear her?"
"My Princess said dada!" Danny picks her up.
"Now he needs a bath too." Jessica shakes her head.
Danny didn't care. He was so happy. He kissed his daughter's chubby cheeks over and over again.
"She blamed him for her mess, did you catch that?" Dorothy laughs.
"I noticed!" Jessica laughs.
"Anyway, just leave the girls with me and you two go alone."
"Alright, thank you mom."
"You're welcome. How do you feel?"
"Terrified."
"I bet. Just relax. Everything will be okay."
Jessica nods her head. Her mother can tell she is on the verge of tears.
Dorothy hugs her daughter. "Oh honey, it's okay. No matter what, it will be okay."
"It's gonna be hard."
"IF you're pregnant yes, it will be hard.
If you're not it's still going to continue being hard."
"That's true."
"Yeah." Dorothy kisses Jessica's cheek. "So don't worry. Try to be as relaxed as possible, because it will be okay."
"Thanks, mom."
"Of course, honey!
You two be careful."
"We will, Mrs. D."
**
"It's freezing in here!"
"You want my jacket?" Danny asks.
"Yes."
"Oh I didn't think you'd say yes.
But then I'll be cold, Jess."
"I don't really care."
Danny takes his jacket off and places it over Jessica's shoulders.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Did they say how long it would be before getting your results back?"
"No, they just said to wait in here and that my doctor would be in soon."
Just then there was a knock on the door.
"Hello, hello, hello!"
"Hi Dr. Fisher.."
"How are you two? How are the girls?"
"They're great! They're little monsters." Danny chuckles softly.
Jessica laughs. "They are but we love them!"
"Yeah, we do love those little boogers."
"Well when you get home you tell those cuties they're going to be big sisters soon!"
Both Danny and Jessica's smiles fade.
"What?"
"She's pregnant?
.. You're sure?"
"I'm positive!
.. Congratulations?"
"Yeah, thanks..
I have a question. What happened to not getting pregnant while nursing?"
"Although it isn't very likely to happen, it can. Obviously!" Dr. Fisher laughs and holds up her chart.
"Ha-ha.. look at that, Dan.. We're a rare case." Jessica fakes a smile.
Danny runs his hand through his hair.
"Yep.. how nice."
"There's just one, right? Please tell me there's only one!" Jessica says with a worried look in her eyes.
"We won't know until your next appointment. You're still early on in your pregnancy. You're about four weeks."
"Wow.. okay. Well thank you."
"Another baby. We're gonna have three kids.. three kids. Three kids and we're still teenagers."
Jessica makes a face as she takes his jacket off and throws it at him.
"Thanks."
**
In the car.
"I can't believe this. I cannot believe this."
"Well it's happening Danny, so you better get used to it!" Jessica cries.
"I just can't.. how did this happen?"
"I'm thinking Valentine's Day. We never have time to do it, and I definitely remember doing it then."
"Fuck Valentine's Day."
Jessica buries her face in her hands and cries.
Danny sighs and rubs her back.
"I'm sorry. Don't be upset."
Jessica doesn't respond.
"I said I'm sorry."
"I heard you!" Jessica shouts.
"This isn't all on you, Jessica! It's on me too! How am I supposed to support a family of five at nineteen years old!"
"You are so selfish!"
"You were the one that was so cool about this yesterday!"
"I'm aloud to be scared, Danny! And you were telling me it was going to be okay last night!"
"Because I thought maybe the test was wrong and you weren't pregnant!"
Jessica cries even harder. Why another baby now?
**
"Hello! Oh no.. you've been crying.."
"I'm pregnant again."
"Aw honey, it's okay!"
"Daddy is gonna be mad!" Jessica cries.
"Mad? No he won't! Your father loves his girls and he'll love another!"
"I'm eighteen, mom. How am I gonna do this?"
"You were just saying how you know you can do it, Jessie."
"Yes but now it's actually happening and I don't know if I can!"
"Aw baby girl, I can't imagine how you must feel right now. But I'll be here. You and Danny will finish school. This changes nothing."
Jessica catches her breath and sniffles.
"Thank you, mom."
"You're welcome, sweetie pie."
"Mama!"
Jessica smiles softly and lifts Emilia.
"Hi baby girl.."
"Mama?"
"Yeah I'm mama." Jessica chuckles.
"How were they?"
"Oh they were angels!"
"Tell the truth, mom."
"No they were great!" Dorothy laughs.
"Well good job, girls!" Jessica smiles.
Just then Danny walks upstairs and into their bedroom.
"What's wrong with him? He didn't even speak."
"He's not happy. He didn't think I'd be pregnant."
Dorothy sighs. "Well you are and he's going to have to get over it."
"It's a lot, mom. He just needs some time. It's a shock. I didn't think I'd be pregnant for at least another five or ten years!"
"Well.. I'm just saying, there's no use in having a pity party. It's happening!"
"I'm surprised you're so cool about this."
"Did I want it to happen right now while you're still in school? No. But it's happening and we're going to make the best of it. It's another baby! It's a happy time." Dorothy smiles and pats Jessica's hand.
Jessica sighs and smiles softly.
"Yeah.. A happy time."
