PART 9

"Vanishing twin syndrome?" Deaton asked looking at the papers.

"This is part of your expertise, right?" Stiles asked.

"He's a veterinarian." I raised my eyebrows and Deaton nodded.

We heard the door open and saw Scott and Liam walk in carrying a Dread Doctor.

"He's still alive." Scott spoke.

[...]

"Can you keep him alive?" Scott asked.

"I'm not sure he technically is alive." Deaton replied.

"Screw keeping him alive. How do we get him to talk?" Liam asked.

"Let's torture him." I replied and Liam raised his eyebrows.

"Come..." We heard a voice.

"Did you hear that?" Liam asked and I nodded.

"Come to me. To me."

The Dread Doctor quickly got up. I moved my hand trying to stop him but he emitted a deafening sound. I covered my ears and winced.

We all covered our ears as everything around us shook.

The Doctor started walking away. Liam followed him.

"Liam, wait!" Scott yelled.

The Doctor extended his hand releasing some kind of frequency that threw Liam against a wall.

Everything kept shaking. The Doctor left the clinic and all the metal objects flew towards the door.

Liam ran to the exit.

"Stop!" Deaton yelled and Liam looked at him. "It's electrified."

"The cane." Scott spoke.

"But they took it. They took the cane." Liam spoke.

"The one from Argent's story." I spoke.

[...]

"Maybe there's something here. Something about how he was a Genetic Chimera." Scott flipped through the papers.

"Mason had a vanishing twin." Deaton spoke.

"Now we've got a vanishing Mason." Stiles spoke.

"And a vanishing empathy." I told him and he grimaced.

"What does that have to do with him turning into a 250-year-old French guy? How does that even happen?" Liam asked.

"Hold on, Scott might have something." Deaton spoke and we looked at Scott. "Mason's twin wasn't entirely gone. That's what made him a Genetic Chimera." He explained.

"The DNA was still there."

"Metaphorically speaking, the DNA of Mason could still be inside Sebastien as well."

"How?" Stiles asked.

"Life is energy. Energy doesn't just disappear. The Dread Doctors may have found a way to break the rules of the supernatural world but there are some rules that simply won't break." Deaton explained.

"So Mason's still there. He can't be gone." I spoke.

"Somewhere in Sebastien he has to still exist in some form. A spark of energy, a flicker of memory."

"Hang on...Liam, you said Mason said something right before he turned." Stiles reminded him.

"He said, "That's not my name." Liam replied.

"He finally remembered his name." Scott realized.

"Damnatio Memoriae." I murmured.

"That's what they wanted. They wanted Sebastien to remember his name." Liam spoke.

"Scott, you know the myth of what happens when you call a werewolf by its given name?" Deaton asked.

"It turns back to human." He answered.

"What does that mean? Someone can just walk up to the Beast, yell Mason's name and turn him back?" Liam asked.

"Not someone." Scott answered and sighed.

"Lydia."

[...]

I walked towards Lydia who was lying down on the hospital's bed. She had a big patch on her neck. She had been attacked by the Beast.

I stroked her hair and she opened her eyes weakly.

"Hey, Lyds." I whispered and she smiled.

"Did...Did you find something? A solution?" She asked with a hoarse voice.

"Yeah. You, you are the solution." I replied.

She looked at me confused and I grabbed her hand.

[...]

Liam and Scott lifted Lydia carefully.

"This is stupid. She's not okay, she's hurt." I spoke worried.

"Lia, I can do this." Lydia assured.

"Promise me you'll take care of her." I looked at Scott.

"I promise."

Melissa and Stiles walked in. Stiles closed the door.

"Lydia, this is gonna have to be just between us since I can get fired." Melissa spoke.

"It's a cortisone shot. It's gonna bring the inflammation down." Scott explained.

I saw Melissa uncap the syringe and gulped. Lydia extended her arm.

"Not there."

She peeled the patch on Lydia's neck a little bit.

I held Lydia's hand tightly.

"I'm not passing out. I'm not fainting." I whispered.

"Okay. Here we go." Melissa spoke.

Suddenly, we heard a thud. We turned around and saw Liam on the ground. He passed out.

Scott ran to help him.

"Okay, Lydia, this is gonna hurt like a bitch." Melissa spoke, returning her gaze to Lydia.

She injected Lydia in the neck and she gasped and squeezed my hand.

[...]

We got off the elevator.

"Okay. We'll get Malia. Text me when you find Parrish." Stiles spoke.

"Hold on." Scott handed Stiles something.

"What is this?" Stiles asked.

"Something I've been working on for a while. Just make sure Malia gets it." Scott replied looking at us.

"Okay, is it plan B?" Stiles asked.

"It was plan A." Scott answered.

"Plan A never works."

"This one will."

"Okay."

I let go off Lydia and she smiled trying to assure me she was okay.

"Take care of her, okay?" I looked at Scott.

He nodded and I grabbed Stiles' hand to walk towards the exit.

[...]

We opened the door and saw a woman pointing a gun at us. The Desert Wolf.

"What a lovely welcome." I spoke sarcastically and moved my hands throwing her gun to the ground.

She quickly picked it up and pointed it at Stiles. I moved my hand pushing Stiles away. He groaned falling to the ground.

I turned around and received a kick in the leg making me fall to the ground. I groaned.

I saw Malia lunge at her, knocking the gun out of her hand. They fought and ended up falling on top of the glass table breaking it to pieces.

Corinne threw Malia against the wall knocking her out and picked up her gun as I stood up.

She started shooting towards me. I reached out my hands stopping every bullet.

I saw Stiles get up and try to hit her.

"Stiles, no!" I yelled and Corinne threw him to the ground.

A piece of glass pierced his shoulder.

"Stiles!" I yelled worried.

I heard another shot and I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I groaned and fell to the ground. One, two, three, four shots. I screamed and squeezed my eyes. My hands were covered in blood.

I gasped trying to catch my breath.

"Love is weakness honey." Her voice sent a shiver down my spine.

She grabbed my hair pulling me up roughly and I yelled.

"Get off her!" Malia yelled.

She kicked the gun across the room. Corinne released me and I fell to the ground again. They both ran to get the gun but Corinne got it first.

I saw Malia look at her terrified. Another shot was heard.

"Malia!" I yelled and groaned in pain.

She breathed heavily while trying to back away. Another shot. She yelled and I closed my eyes trying to gain the strength to get up.

"It's not the full moon, Malia. But you know what? It's close enough." Corinne spoke.

"Stop." Malia whispered weakly.

"Lia." Stiles crawled towards me.

I grabbed his hand covering it with my blood.

Another shot was heard. I turned around and saw a jar. It's what Scott told us to give Malia. I grabbed it and crawled on the ground.

"Malia!" I yelled throwing the jar at her.

She caught it. It was the claws. I saw Corinne stab her with her claws.

"I want my power back!" Corinne yelled.

The jar was broken into piece. Malia stabbed her with the claws and they glowed. Corinne's eyes widened.

"I want my family back." Malia's voice was full of pain.

Malia was absorbing Corinne's power. Corinne started to back away trying to escape but Braeden knocked her out.

"Can someone please come and take this gigantic shard of glass out of my chest? Please?" Stiles asked.

"God, I don't even know my blood type." I spoke and saw Malia and Braeden smiled.

They quickly walked towards us to help us.
