PART 8

Stiles grabbed a bandage and wrapped it around my hand covering my wound. I groaned and he looked up at me.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." I assured noticing his look of concern.

He smiled a little bit and kept wrapping the bandage.

"This reminds me of something." He spoke.

"Reminds you of what?" I asked.

"Remember that time in fourth grade when you punched a boy and knocked him unconscious?" He asked and I chuckled.

"Yeah, I remember that." I answered.

"I remember you hurt your hand and I took you to the nurse's office. The nurse was busy so I had to bandage your hand." He spoke and I could see the smile on his face as he remembered that moment.

"Why did I even punched that poor boy so hard?" I asked.

"Because he was making fun of me." He replied and I smiled.

I turned around and saw Malia and Braeden looking at us. They had this concerned look on their faces.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Tell them." Braeden spoke and I frowned.

"You know how my mother wants to kill me?" Malia asked and we nodded. "I think she might want to kill Stiles too."

"Okay, uh, that's disconcerting." Stiles spoke.

"Terrifying." I added.

"I should probably have a gun." Stiles suggested and we looked at each other.

"I'm not giving you a gun." Braeden replied.

"You have a gun. The Desert Wolf who is trying to kill me, has a gun. I think I should probably have a gun." Stiles replied.

"Give the kid a gun." I raised my eyebrows.

Braeden pulled out a gun and threw it at Stiles. He tried to catch it but it fell to the ground.

"I probably shouldn't have a gun." Stiles cleared his throat.

"I agree with you." I picked up the gun and handed it to Braeden smiling.

She chuckled.

[...]

"My dad's got an APB out." Stiles spoke.

"For a "5'8" 16-year-old?" Lydia asked.

"I recommended a nine-foot tall rampaging werewolf." Stiles replied.

"It still might not be him." Liam spoke and I put my hand on his shoulder.

Mason was the missing chimera. Mason was the Beast but if we didn't save him in time he would disappear and the Beast would be the only one left.

"But, Hayden's at the school looking." Liam spoke.

"I can keep checking the woods." Malia suggested.

"My mom can check all the hospitals in the county." Scott spoke walking in the kitchen and we looked at him. "We can find him."

"What happens then?" Liam asked.

"We figure out a way to save him." Scott replied.

"Where else can we look for him?" I asked.

"Let's ask Corey." Scott replied and I frowned.

Scott held his hand up catching something and Corey became visible. I forgot Corey was like a chameleon or some shit like that.

"Wait. Wait. It's not my fault. They took him away and I couldn't do anything." Corey spoke scared.

"Let go of the kid, Scott." I ordered and Scott released him. "Who took him Corey?" I asked.

"The Dread Doctors." He answered worried.

[...]

"Still nothing from Scott and Liam." Stiles spoke entering the office.

"Are we really sure this is a good idea?" Lydia asked.

"Uh, no. No one thinks this is a good idea." Stiles replied.

"But you're trusting Theo, anyway?" Sheriff Stilinski asked.

"Nope, nobody trusts Theo. Not even Theo trusts Theo." I replied raising my eyebrows.

"We're using him." Stiles spoke.

"What if he's using us?" Lydia asked.

"Yeah, that's probably a fact." I replied.

"Look, we're just trying to cover every place Mason could show up. Malia and Braeden are at Scott's house." Stiles spoke.

"Melissa's got the hospital." The Sheriff added.

"Hayden and Corey are at the school." Lydia added.

"We have to find him." I spoke.

"Let's hope they find Mason and not the Beast." Lydia spoke.

[...]

"Same here." Stiles was on the phone with Melissa.

"Do you have something?" I asked talking to Malia.

"Not a thing." Malia replied. "And I'm gonna lose my mind if I don't get out of this supernatural cage."

"The mountain ash is there so your mother doesn't kill you. It's there to keep you safe." I replied.

"I should be keeping Stiles safe."

I turned around and saw Stiles hit his head on a window. I sighed.

"I'm worried too." I pursed my lips. "Call me if anything happens."

[...]

I was walking through the station. I saw Stiles asleep on a couch.

"Aww." I looked at him with a smile.

I saw his chest go up and down. His breath so calm. He looked adorable.

"Stiles!" I hit his head.

"Hmm? What? What happened? Who's dead?" He asked getting up quickly.

"No one, for now." I replied sitting down next to him.

I leaned my head on his shoulder.

"Why did they choose Mason?" I asked.

"I don't know, I mean, he wasn't even on the Genetic Chimera list." He replied and I sighed.

"He is now." Another voice spoke.

It was Melissa, followed in by Lydia.

"Mason was born with twin embolization syndrome." She spoke putting some papers on the table.

"Fetal resorption." Lydia spoke.

"He had a vanishing twin in the utero?" I asked.

"Which account for the two sets of DNA." Melissa replied.

"Can someone say it with words that have less than three syllables?" Stiles asked confused.

"He ate his twin." Melissa replied.

"Oh, God." Stiles sighed.

"But did it help?" I asked.

"I don't know. But it's just bizarre enough to sound like it might be important, right?" Melissa asked.

"It has to help. There has to be something." Lydia spoke.

Melissa shuffled some papers showing us a photo of Mason in his mother's womb and we frowned.
