PART 6
Scott looked at his phone.
"He's headed to the school."
"Why's Parrish headed to the school?" Liam asked.
"It's not Parish. At least not right now." Scott replied.
"Okay, why's a Hellhound going to the school?" Liam asked.
"'Cause he's got a yearning for higher education." Stiles replied and I chuckled.
"Let's just follow him, all right?" I spoke looking at Liam.
[...]
Stiles parked the Jeep and we all got out. Stiles, Scott, and I looked around. Out of nowhere there was a loud noise and we turned around.
"Liam." I scolded him.
He had slammed the Jeep's door.
"Sorry." He whispered.
We started walking and saw Argent walking towards us. I smiled and ran towards him.
"Argent." I hugged him.
He froze at first but then wrapped his arms around me.
"Hey, Lia." He smiled.
"Where's Parrish?" Scott asked.
"I lost him. He's moving too fast." He answered.
"Scott." Liam called him. "That guy's not moving at all." He pointed at someone.
There was a body lying there. We looked at each other and started getting closer.
It was covered on blood and was gutted. I winced and closed my eyes.
We kept walking and saw another body lying in front of a bus. Argent loaded his gun.
"Look..." Liam looked at the bus.
I narrowed my eyes when I saw two blue orbs glowing inside, there was a whole massacre in there.
"Help me." A guy whispered lying on the bus.
I tried approaching him to help.
"It's a trap." A voice spoke and I turned around seeing Parrish.
"Please..." The guy on the bus begged.
I looked down breathing heavily. I had a horrible feeling in my chest.
"You can't help him." Parrish spoke.
Suddenly, there was a growl and the guy was slashed in half. I put my hand over my mouth and jumped frightened.
It was a werewolf. But it wasn't a normal one, it was huge.
Stiles grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to him.
"That's big. No one said it was that big." Stiles spoke scared.
"I did." Liam replied.
The Beast roared and my heart pounded. Parrish roared and lit up in flames.
The Beast ran off and Parrish followed it.
"What the hell's happening?" Scott asked.
"It's getting smarter." Argent answered.
[...]
I wrote down what we knew so far on Stiles' board.
"What are you doing?" He asked and I looked at him.
"Adding the small detail that there's a giant Beast in Beacon Hills." I replied and he smiled. "Who do you think it is?" I asked and he got up from his bed and walked towards me.
"I don't know. Let's hope it's not someone we know."
I turned my eyes back to the board and wrote.
Who is the Beast?
"The Dread Doctors recreated an ancient Beast with science. How? And why?" I asked.
I felt Stiles' hands on my waist and kept writing.
"We'll figure it out." He whispered in my ear.
"I hope so." I whispered.
I felt him bite my ear and smiled. I looked at him and he smiled.
I smashed my lips against his wrapping my arms around his neck. He grabbed my waist and deepened the kiss.
"I like to kiss you." I admitted and he smiled.
"Do you want to try it again?" He asked.
"I want to try something else." I whispered.
He immediately kissed me and I jumped into his arms. He carried me still kissing me and holding my legs. He laid me down on the bed carefully and I grabbed the edge of his shirt pulling it off.
I kept kissing him. He slid over me kissing my neck desperately. I smiled and threw back my head. He grabbed my hands raising them above my head. I felt his heavy breath and heard his heart beat racing.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked.
"Never been so sure in my life." I replied and he smiled.
[...]
"Mason said it's not just a transmitted frequency. It's high powered. Like it has to be a really strong signal." Liam spoke.
"And that's causing it to shift?" Lydia asked.
"No. I don't think it's just that. Last night Argent said that it's getting smarter. What if the Dread Doctors are trying to make the Beast grow faster?" Scott spoke.
"With frequencies?" Stiles asked.
"No, by shifting. The frequency is just the trigger. The important part is when it shifts into the werewolf." Scott replied.
"Like Peter." Lydia spoke.
"Right."
"When Peter was the Alpha, he got stronger and stronger every full moon. Eventually, the burns were just gone and he was walking out of the Beacon Hills Memorial like nothing happened." I spoke and Scott nodded.
"So the Dread Doctors don't want to wait for the full moon." Liam spoke.
"They want the Beast to be as strong as possible, as fast as possible." Scott completed his statement.
"Because of Parrish." Liam added.
"So if this is happening tonight, what are we going to do?" Lydia asked.
"Uh, we've got one clue to go on." Stiles replied putting a picture on the table. "This came from the hospital."
It was a picture of the footprints.
"The Beast wears a size ten indeterminate?" I asked raising my eyebrows.
"Indeterminate?" Lydia asked.
"Means, it's a partial print. Basically, it was all we
were able to get considering all the fire, blood and carnage." Stiles explained.
"How many size 10s are out there?" Scott asked.
"Many, but only one has Parrish's blood on the sole." I replied.
"So are we going to try to get the game cancelled?" Liam asked.
"No, no, we're going to play, but we're just going to hope really hard that it doesn't turn into a blood-soaked massacre." Stiles replied.
"Okay, but, um...Aren't we kind of missing out on a chance to catch this thing?" Liam asked. "We don't have the "who", but we have the "where" and the "when"."
We looked at each other.
"There's too many people." Scott spoke.
"And we still don't actually know if it's going to happen. It just might end up being a regular lacrosse game. It's possible, right?" Lydia asked and we looked at her.
"Yeah, totally." I shrugged.
"So we're still getting the game cancelled?" Liam asked.
"We're getting the game cancelled." Scott replied.
We got up and started walking. I groaned when I got up and Lydia looked at me.
"What was that?" She asked and I looked at her.
"What?" I asked and she smiled.
"Oh my God, my little sister is no longer a virgin." She realized and I pursed my lips and smiled. "How was it?" She asked.
"Amazing. Like, no kidding. He's really good." I answered and she smiled.
"I'll buy you a cake."
"I'd prefer an ibuprofen." I joked and she laughed.
I started walking and Lydia fell behind.
"Are you coming?" I asked.
"I'll catch up with you in a minute." She answered looking at something.
I nodded and left the library.
[...]
"Mason, you know your part..." Scott looked at him.
"Corey and I break into the Davenford Bus and search their shoes." Mason spoke.
"I take out the TV vans." Malia spoke.
"Right before the whistle, Coach forfeits the game." Stiles added.
"The rest of us are looking for a size 10 with a bloody sole." Liam spoke.
"And we find out who the Beast is." I completed.
"Just out of curiosity, what if it doesn't work?" Malia asked. "What if we have to go up against this thing? I mean, I hate to bring up bad memories but Scott's still healing from what Theo did to him."
"No, he's not." Kira spoke.
"She's right." Scott lifted his shirt.
He was healed.
"It happened the night we got Lydia out of Eichen House. I healed." Scott smiled. "When we're all together again, when we were a pack."
"The Beast doesn't have a pack." Liam spoke.
"Not like us. We can do this, guys. No one dies tonight."
[...]
I was sitting on the benches lacing up my sneakers. In a few seconds Coach was supposed to forfeit the game.
I heard Coach blow the whistle signaling the start of the game and everyone clapped. I looked at Scott and Stiles.
Shit.
We ran to the field.
"Okay. It's fine. Malia's still going to take out the wiring on the TV vans." Scott tried to be positive.
"And we got an hour and a half to try to find someone with blood on their shoes." Liam spoke.
"One person out of 400." Scott added.
"We're screwed." I sighed and ran to my position.
[...]
We all ran across the field. I saw Kira knock down several players and shoot the ball scoring.
"You think she's playing a tad aggressive?" Stiles spoke.
"A tad?" I asked sarcastically.
Kira's eyes glowed.
"We might have a problem." Scott sighed.
[...]
The game continued and Kira kept knocking down players violently.
I saw her run towards me.
"No, no, hell to the no." I stepped aside and she ran besides me and knocked a guy down.
Scott walked up to Kira to talk to her. Kira glared at him and returned to her position giving Scott a shove.
The whistle blew again. Brett grabbed the ball and started running. Kira ran towards him but he knocked her to the ground.
"Not so tough now, are you?" Brett raised an eyebrow.
Kira got up and hit Brett with her lacrosse stick. Brett groaned and fell to the ground.
I winced and ran towards Brett.
"You! You're done. Get off the field!" The referee ordered Kira.
She glared at him and left the field.
"That was really helpful, thanks Bretty." I patted his shoulder.
He wheezed and gave me thumbs up. I chuckled and went back to my position.
Scott and Lori, Brett's sister, were talking. Lori followed Kira so Scott could return to the field.
[...]
Liam was knocked to the ground by a player. Scott and I ran to help him up.
"Are you okay?" I asked and he nodded.
"We're getting crushed." He spoke annoyed.
"It's okay. All we need to do is give others enough time. Like I said. No one's getting hurt." Scott spoke.
"Except maybe us." I raised my eyebrows.
Scott turned around.
"Kira." He whispered.
[...]
"Something's wrong. I don't think Malia's got all the vans." Stiles spoke.
"Then we'll get her more time." Liam spoke.
"How?" I asked.
"We'll even up the score." Liam answered and I smiled.
He looked at me and I raised my eyebrows.
"Oh, we're getting real right here." I spoke.
"Just give me the ball." Liam spoke.
"You got it, Dunbar."
We bumped our fists.
The game continued. Liam and I worked together. I passed him the ball and he scored the points.
"I want to try." I spoke and Liam smiled.
I ran towards the goal. I saw Liam take the ball and look at me. He threw it at me and I caught it and threw it towards the goal scoring.
I scoffed smiling, I still had the talent. Everyone clapped. Now I understand why they love being the star player.
The game continued and I took the ball again. I ran towards the goal dodging players and scored.
"Yes!" Liam smiled and we high-fived.
People clapped and cheered. The others arrived and congratulated me.
"Nice job, Lia."
"You're the best."
"We might win!"
"Yes, Lia!"
Liam and I evened up the score. The marker was already equal.
The referee blew the whistle.
"That's overtime!" He yelled.
"You two, keep it up and we could win this thing." Coach spoke.
I had a strange feeling in my chest. Suddenly, a deafening noise was heard throughout the whole field.
I covered my ears. I breathed heavily and closed my eyes.
"It's here." I murmured.
Liam looked at something and his eyes glowed.
I turned around and heard growls. Liam ran towards the sound.
"No, Liam!" I yelled.
"Liam, Liam, wait!" Stiles yelled.
Liam jumped on the bus and the Beast jumped out the other side. My heart skipped a beat.
[...]
