"And this is where you are going to sleep Erin. Do not worry, it is more comfortable than it looks. Or, if you do not want to sleep there Erin, I know for certain that your daddy will let you sleep on his chest. It is strong, and you will feel protected. I should know, I sleep there every night. His heartbeat putting me to sleep. Ooh, that was a kick Erin, are you in anticipation of sleeping with daddy?"
Isaac stands these watching Liam interact with their unborn daughter. There was an unspoken kindness about Isaac. Liam loved that.
"Oh, then we..well, me actually, do not tell daddy, chose the cutest little coming home outfit for you Erin! Had to fight your daddy off about putting you all in pink! You will look good in pink too Erin, but this is just to cute! It's a white onesie with little pink pants and a monkey on your butt. You will just have to see yourself to fully understand. Then you might die as I did, from being so cute! Erin. We still need a middle name for you. Daddy and I cannot seem to agree on a name, his are all stuffy..as he says mine are old. Which one would you like better? Kick the left side of my tummy for a stuffy middle name, or kick the right side of my tummy for an older name. I can wait. Oh, smart Erin. Kicking right in the middle, guess we could try to compromise. Daddy is impossible though Erin. He wants to name you Erin Mary Dunbar. That is child abuse! My name for you is, Erin Sloane Dunbar. Now how cute of a name is that! It makes me happy just saying that name to you. Makes you more real, how though, when you have made me round, I do not know. But it does Erin. Do you want to see more of your nursery Erin? Of course you do! Now here is my most favorite part of your nursery, mostly because it is for me. Your rocking chair, daddy surprised me with this one day. Only in a few simple months will you be here. And I will be here rocking you to sleep Erin, your eyes not leaving mine, your daddy standing in the doorframe, just as he is now. Say hi to daddy."
Isaac notices that he is caught "How long have you known Liam?" "The entire time, now come here. Erin wants to say hi!"
Isaac kneels down in front of Liam's tummy, Liam directing them to where Erin is most active.
Instantly Isaac can feel the thumps being pushed against his palm, "Wow." Isaac sighs, even though he has felt her kicking before it still amazes Isaac. His little girl is in there. The little girl who is about to change his life. That little girl, his little girl Erin.
"Liam?" Isaac whispered.
"Yeah Isaac?" Responded Liam.
"I like your name." Isaac says.
"Knew you would come around to my name." Smiled Liam.
"Oh did you know?"
"Yeah, actually I did."
"How so?"
"Because I get what I want, always Isaac." Gloated Liam.
Isaac takes Liam's hands "That you do babe. Do you know that bit about laying on my chest?"
"I do. What about that?"
"I like thinking about that. I have pictured Erin laying on my chest as she sleeps away. And for her never to worry, because I have her. And nothing will happen to her, not when I am still alive."
"Qualities of a good parent Liam."
"Qualities of a person trying to prepare themselves for parenthood."
"Fatherhood."
"That too. How are you feeling Liam?" Isaac asked.
Liam yawned "We are very tired. This touring tuckered us. We could go for a nap with our powerful protector."
Isaac laughed "Off to take a nap with you too."

With Isaac holding hands with Liam, he waddled into their bedroom. Liam sits down as Isaac helps with his legs, swinging them to rest on the bed, as Liam sighed.
"That feels so good. Thanks so much Isaac."
"No problem. Now are you good? Can I come snuggle with you?"
"Permission to snuggle, granted! Get over my snuggle buddy Isaac."
Isaac flings himself to the bed, immediately his body curving around Liam's where his hands lay on his swelling tummy.
"Right where this feels the most natural for me Liam."
"As where your hands should be. Promise to be here when I wake?"
"Promise. If you worry about me leaving, Liam, you must not understand the absolute love I have for you. Nothing can compare to the feeling of when I am with you. When I see you round with our baby, the gentle kisses that we share with one another Liam. I love you, and our little girl so very much. And nothing will be changing that anytime soon." Isaac kisses Liam's neck. Liam puts his hands on Isaacs "I love you because I know all of what you just said is true. I love you because you have been strong, even when I have felt weak. You have made me feel beautiful, and accepting of my changing body. I know that as we are together the sun lowers, that the moon and stars come out, and the green grass grows. My love for you never will change Isaac."
Liam feels the hot breath of laughter on his neck, he smiled, then curls himself more into the right grip of Isaac.
