Trigger warning of severe injuries and (risk of) death.

Y/n is lying drowsy on the Dread Doctors table, strapped down with leather and all sorts of nasty contraptions are wired up to her fragile body. They have been working on her for hours and she has been in immense pain.

She wonders if she will even be rescued. Y/n has made friends in Scott's pack, including big bad wolf Derek. Y/n even has a secret boyfriend, a secret boyfriend that cousin Lydia would not approve of.

Suddenly there's a bang at the door, then another, then another and then the reinforced door caves in. In comes as werewolf warriors Scott, Liam and Isaac. Allison and Derek is not far behind with Stiles and Lydia bringing up the rear. Abruptly the fight entails. Bullets zip across the room at unimaginable speed, teeth are bared and the sound of skin being ripped apart slashes through Y/n's ears. Y/n senses a presence beside her and prays that it isn't a Dread Doctor. It is none other than Theo Raekin, secret boyfriend.

"I'm going to get you outta here." Theo says quietly, quickly trying to break the leather-bound straps.

"Leave me. I will not be the one that slows you down." Y/n manages to croak.

Theo just stops dead in his werewolf form and says: "Y/n please, I don't have the energy to waste arguing with you."

The fight seems to be slowing down and Lydia and Stiles manages to reach Y/n. They start helping Theo and in just a minute they are undone.

"Have we got her?" Scott yells then thumbs a Dread Doctor.

"Yeah!" Stiles shouts in response.

"I've got her." Theo says pulling Y/n out of Stiles' reach.

"T-Theo, I don't have long." Y/n whispers.

Theo then gets a tear in his eye but his main concern right now is getting Y/n to safety...

"Wake up! Wake-ake up." Lydia shakes Y/n sadly.

"I'm awake. Shut your pie hole." Y/n mutters.

Y/n has woke up in a bleak white room with bright lights and nurses around. She spots Mrs McCall and sends her a weak smile. Y/n then spots Doctor Deaton and then gives him a weak smile too.

"Right, we have to examine her. We can only have one of you in while we do it." Deaton says calmly but you can see that he cares for the young girl just like she were his own.

"I'll stay." Lydia says, trying to remain calm.

So, Lydia stays and it is bad news for Y/n. She was just an experiment for the Dread Doctors and a mere variable to lure Scott and his pack. Y/n is dying. There is one way of saving her but it is something that could kill her anyway: becoming a werewolf. Y/n has always a sickly body and the risks are higher if she was bitten.

"I have two weeks guys." Y/n says.

"No! She can be bitten can't she?" Isaac, Y/n's best friend pleads.

"You know she can't Isaac, her body is too weak. She won't survive it." Scott states.

Meanwhile Theo is sat in the chair next to Y/n's bed, slumped, red eyed with a few cuts and bruises. He is silent and has his head half in his hands.

"Come on Lyd, let's go get some coffee and give Y/n some rest." Stiles says gently.

"Yeah, I think that's a good idea guys. Let's all go home, shower and give each other rest. We can come back later." Derek agrees with Stiles.

So they all start to file out, all apart from Theo.

"Theo come on. Leave her be." Liam says.

Theo stays with a cold expression to everyone else but Y/n can read the worry and sadness in his eyes.

"Theo can stay, please?" Y/n looked at him, grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze.

The look she got was so miserable, her poor Theo was tearing up. He nodded and squeezed Y/n's hand back.

"Let's give them some privacy then." Allison says.

They all filed out of the small hospital room and that's when Y/n and Theo's tears began to spill. Theo immediately kicked off his shoes and got under the hospital covers with Y/n. A while later of sobbing and being in each others warm embrace, they began to speak.

"Theo, baby, I want you to do it." Y/n says softly.

"W-what?" Theo says shocked.

"I want you to turn me. It's our last hope. I can do it, I know I can. Please believe in me, not even my cousin does." Y/n begs.

Theo brushes the hair from Y/n's eyes and sighs.

"They'll kill me for being so selfish." He smiles rubbing soft circles on the bottom of Y/n's back.

Y/n smirks, "They want to kill you anyway."

Theo starts chuckling.

"Plus it's not just me being selfish is it? You want to do this and what if your decision takes you away from me?" Theo questions softly.

"By definition, you just described us both as selfish." Y/n smiles.

Theo chuckles but stops when he sees Y/n's gorgeous face. He gently presses their chapped lips together and for a while they warm each other up. Not in a sexual way, they are in the middle of the hospital. After a while of making out. Theo bit Y/n.

"I'm sorry, Y/n is no longer with us." Melissa McCall says sadly.

She gently glides the soft cotton sheets over Y/n's lifeless body.

"What do you mean? I thought we had time?" Y/n's cousin Lydia cried.

"I'm afraid not. It seems Y/n made the decision to have herself bit as an attempt to survive." Deaton explains, trying to stay calm.

Scott is hugging Allison who is shaking with sobs and Stiles is doing the same with Lydia. Derek has a stone expression but you can clearly see it's starting to break, Y/n was like a little sister to him. Isaac is in complete denial trying to coax Y/n to wake up and Liam has just fainted but is back consciousnes and now is crying. Theo however, is sobbing and keeps trying to look at Y/n's body on the hospital bed but he can't; so he looks away but sobs harder. After a while of everyone staying with Y/n's body, her parents arrive with her little brother.

"H-hi auntie Sarah, hi uncle Matthew." Lydia says with tears still flowing from her eyes.

"What about me Lyd?" Y/n's little six year old brother Sam said.

"H-hello sweetie." Lydia says trying to smile, trying to be strong.

"Lyd, why did Y/n have to go to the angel's? She went too early I want her back!" Sam screams and burst out crying.

He runs into cousin Lydia's outstretched arms and almost knocked her over. Isaac comes too now and offers condolences. Little six year old Sam then leaps onto Isaac and Lydia goes to her auntie and uncle. Then, Lydia's mum arrives and Lydia goes to her.

"C-come on Sam, let's go see Y/n e-eh?" Y/n's dad says.

After some time with their dead daughter and sister, the family comes out distraught and Lydia and her mum goes in.

"Hello, my name is Theo. Firstly, I'd like to offer my condolences, Y/n was an incredible girl." Theo says trying not to sob.

"I know who you are, your Y/n's boyfriend." Sam says.

Theo looks shocked.

"Don't worry dear, Y/n has always been a secretive child but her and Sammy here would have hours long calls and they called it sibling secrets." Y/n's mum Sarah laughs fondly, "It was their little thing they did. We suspected she had a boyfriend but it's great to finally to meet you but in terrible circumstances."

"Can I cut in, we all knew she had a boyfriend and suspected it was you Theo. I'm pleased to say that our Y/n made Theo here a better person." Isaac says to Y/n's parents and then sends a wink to Theo.

Theo knows exactly what he means and later wishes to thank Isaac for how elegantly he phrased Theo's murderous tendencies. Later on, the pack discusses the Theo and Y/n relationship but it all turns sour.

"So your the one who bit her?" Derek says, realising.

"Yes." Theo says quiet as a mouse.

Suddenly Theo is being pinned against the wall by Isaac. Liam and Scott grab to pull Isaac off a shrinking Theo.

"You bastard! How selfish are you!" Isaac screams, but then he realises: "I'm really sorry Theo. I-I would have done the same. I almost did today." Isaac says.

"Its okay, it was a joint decision. We wanted t-to try." Theo says tearing up.

"Theo?" Lydia asks from the back of the group.

She ambushes him in a huge hug and they both cry together. Eventually, it turns into a group hug.

"Thank you for making Y/n so happy Theo." Allison thanks.

A week later, the day after the funeral, Theo goes and hunts the Dread Doctors down. He kills them all other than one. By the time the pack comes Theo's bloodied body lies on the floor with a single Dread Doctor he didn't manage to kill, that he killed Theo. Allison immediately kills the remaining Dread Doctor with her bow and arrow.

This time, they didn't call Theo's decision selfish, they called it selfless. They all agreed that Y/n and Theo's decision was half selfish, half selfish.
