First Moon
I was so not looking forward to this. The wolf inside of me, so new and unwelcome, was barging out at the most random times.
Scott was going to find out. I knew it.
By some miracle we'd hidden it from him. But this full moon was going to go to shit.
At this point, almost everyone knew what I was. Only Sam, Malia, and Isacc at this point didn't know-besides Scott.
Lydia and Stiles were with me now, trying everything. We were on the field, trying tactics that Stiles had used on Scott. He wasn't being as insane because I was a "girl" who was "delicate."
Stiles had already gotten punched in the face.
I hadn't officially "wolf out" yet. Like, at all. The entire month. There was no explanation. I just knew my anchor immediately, which Scott didn't know. Plus we had techniques that Stiles used that he knew worked. They had to experiment before.
Plus I was a girl. I guess that meant I was "calmer."
Derik had almost gotten punched in the face. Before he left.
"Okay..." Stiles sighed.
"What's next?" I growled. I could control the change, but not the emotions. I couldn't control the anger or the lust. I had almost attacked Scott the other day. I needed to calm down.
"I think that we should st-" Lydia began.
"FINE!" I yelled. "I'll do it myself." I stormed away, fists balled and jaw clenched, my breathe coming overly heavily.
I'll admit it. I was barely holding on. Tonight was the full moon and I was freaking out. I was scared, of being chained up. Terrified.
Closers had become a phobia. I had developed claustrophobia over night, getting more intense as the full moon approached.
I stormed through the woods. I couldn't... I wouldn't go back tonight. If Derik could do it, so could I.
"What do you think you're doing?" Someone asked. I closed me eyes. Crap. "You have to go back. The full moon is in... Three hours."
"Go away Derik. You and Scott don't have to get chained up anymore. I don't want to be changed up, Derik." I finally admitted it, the fear settling in. Panic was swallowing me and I was losing it.
Derik's cold demeanor softened. "You have to. Until you can completely control it," Derik said.
I grabbed my head, sitting down and putting my head in my hands with a simple squat thing. (A/n: again. I suck at describing body movement... XD)
Derik touched back awkwardly. He wasn't used to emotions. Or dealing with them. This made me chuckle as tears fell from my eyes. "You're so awkward," I noted.
Derik quirked an eyebrow. "You're so weird," he shot back.
There was this moment that he looked at me weirdly, but then his face softened again and he... Smiled. It was actually super hot.
"You look way hotter when you smile (A/N: lol... I'll stop now...) ," I said. I blushed after I said it. "I-I mean..."
Derik rolled his eyes.
"Never mind. That's not what I meant. You are, though." I shrugged, cuddling into my self.
"Maybe you should tell Scott... He can help you," Derik said.
"I think I should..." I admitted, running my face. I couldn't hide it forever. But Scott would be so torn up. So guilty. Especially when he found out that he marked me...as his mate.
Oh gosh. This would be bad.
I finally stood and walked. Two and a half hours until sundown. We went back to Scott's where everyone always seemed to be...
When we walked in, I pulled aside everyone who didn't know. "I... I'm a werewolf," I said awkwardly.
Sam burst out laughing. When she saw my face, her laugh died immediately. "You're... Serious?"
I nodded. "Since when?" Isacc asked, eyes wide.
"Last full moon..." I admitted. Malia scoffed.
"How is that possible? We don't-" she suddenly cut off. "Scott?"
I nodded. "But he doesn't know..."
"What did he do? Tell me everything!" Sam demanded.
"Well, he turned me..." I said.
"Everything," Malia snapped. "You're hiding something."
I blushed. Badly. Really badly. "He... Uh... Maybe he might've um..." I pulled my scarf away, showing the faint hickey that had literally taken FOREVER to even fade.
"He marked you?" Sam gasped.
"Oh my gosh!" Liam said. He was smiling though...
"I LOVE IT!" Malia exclaimed, clapping. "I can totally picture you guys! YAS!"
I laughed at her reaction. "Lydia freaked out too... And Stiles." I laughed again.
"It would explain a lot... All the turtle necks and scarves and hoodies... And his overprotective actions all of a sudden..."
"Shush, Sam," I rushed.
We were all laughing. "Now to tell Scott?" Lydia whispered, her and Stiles joining the conversation.
"You need to be quieter. Scott is right there," Stiles said, pointing to Scott.
"Now everyone knows... Except for Scott," I mumbled, agreeing with Lydia's synopsis.
I walked over to Scott. "Can I... Talk to you?" I asked timidly. He looked upset. Had he already heard?
He nodded and we left for his room. When we were there, Scott closed the door behind him and we sat on his bed, facing each other, knees touching.
I smiled. "So..."
"So?" Scott asked.
"Remember last month?" I asked, nervous.
"Yeah. Thanks for watching me my first moon as alpha. I'm really excited about getting it under control enough to not be chained up." Scott stuck two thumbs up. I smiled.
"Well... About ending a werewolf..." I bit my lip.
"Wait," Scott said.
Hour until sundown. I could feel the wolf itching. Suddenly Scott had his nose in the air. He smelled me... Shit. "I wanted to ask you something," Scott said, ignoring it while he got whatever was on his mind taken care of.
"What's wrong?" I asked, touching his arm. It made me hurt when he was all messed up. His confusion caused him pain, which caused me pain.
"Do you... And Derik have a thing?" Scott asked.
I busted up laughing. "No!" I blurted, holding my stomach.
"Then Stiles...?" Scott asked, not as sure.
I shook my head. "Why?"
"You've been spending a lot of time with them lately. And avoiding me. And you have lust on you-I can smell it. Always around Derik. Always." Scott's face darkened.
What Scott didn't realize was that I felt "lust" for him. Not Derik.
"Stupid." I muttered.
"What?"
I looked at him. "I don't feel like that for Derik. Or Stiles."
"Liam?" Scott whispered, nervous.
I shook my head.
"Isacc?" Scott said, disbelieving.
I shook my head, my smile growing.
"If it's Jackson, I swear-" Scott began.
I groaned, pulling his shirt so his face met mine. Our lips. The full moon was back in half an hour. I wasn't going to make it... Oh well.
Scott grabbed my face.
"Why...?" He whispered.
"Maybe it's the moon," I responded. Scott pulled me back for that,
"Why would the moon affect you?" He demanded, something starting to click in his head.
I winced. Me and my big mouth...
Scott shook me. "Why would the moon effect you?" He demanded.
"You already know, Scott," I said, defeated.
"No," Scott whispered.
"Scott, I'm a-"
"NO!" Scott screamed.
I looked at him. He was breathing heavily, glaring at me. "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO ATAY HUMAN!"
I winced. "Is it that bad that I'm not? You can't really be that disgusted with me. I'm like you."
"No! I wanted you human! Innocent. I wanted to be able to protect you from something. I wanted to be able to hold you and not have to worry about anything supernatural. I wanted someone normal..." Scott whispered.
He doesn't want me anymore? He just wanted me because I was normal? My heart shattered.
"So... That's it then? I'm no longer appealing because I'm a werewolf..." I sucked in a breathe. Scott realized what he'd said and how it sounded.
"No, I mean-"
"Whatever," I snapped. " it's not like you're the one who bit me! It's all your fault and now I have to suffer for it! The guy I've loved since I was, like, ten, is finally single and we're on the same level and you don't want me!" I snarled, standing.
"Of course not... Wait. You love me?" Scott whispered.
"Yes!" I screamed. "I've loved you since before Allison!" I rubbed my face.
"And then you go and 'imprint' on me or some shit. Like, what the fuck. Are you Jacob?" I wasn't even looking at him. I was more ranting to myself at this point.
"And you gave me this stupid, immortal hickey that is supposed to mark me as your... Mate?" I demanded. "I am not something TO BE CLAIMED. I am not something one says 'your mine' and gets me! I deserve respect! I deserve choice!" I threw my hands into the air. "You think I wanted to get bitten? On the full moon? To hide my emotions and count down the days until the full moon? To deveolpe suck intense emotions because you claimed me, even more intense than they were. To have you be all touchy and protective but then excuse the feelings and push me away..."
I glared at him. "Do you know what I've BEEN through? BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOUR STUPID WEREWOLF BULLSHIT?!" Scott's jaw was completely unhinged.
I took a step back, covering my mouth. "Me and my big fucking mouth," I cursed.
"You... My mate? Claim you? I print? My werewolf bull shit?" Scott was so confused.
I sat down in front of him and explain every single thing I'd been eating about. He never interrupted, but his eyes got wider and wider the more I explained what I'd been doing this month.
"No way..." Scott mumbled when I was done.
I stood, walking to the other wall and leaning against it. Suddenly I buckled to the ground. Pain coursed through my veins and the moon light me up as the clouds moved.
I screamed, high and loud. Loud enough to match even Lydia. It was so hard to fight the wolf inside of me, clawing out.
"Are you okay?" Scott realized what I was dealing with. "I've got you." He picked up bridal style and took me down stairs. I went limp in his arms as he carried me.
"Scott! What's wrong with her?" I think it was Lydia...?
Voices rose and panic struck but I just tuned it out. Derik's voice broke out, "she's strong. The fact she hasn't become a raging monster at this point is amazing. Like, this is the kind of control werewolves have when they were born werewolves..."
"Like you?"
"Yeah. Like me."
"Hey! She's claimed! Back off." Oh Scott...
"Shut up, Mccall," someone snapped.
"She's like my sister, Scott. Calm down."
"See how protective he is? It's so cute."
"Not the time, Lydia!"
"Shut up Sam."
I groaned and it went quiet. "Scott...?" I whispered. Someone rushed over and grabbed my hand. My senses immediately exploded. Every breathe was like a bomb going off in my ear. When people spoke, it was like they were shoving something into my ear it hurt so bad. I covered my ears and screamed. "LOUD!" I screamed.
"Everyone out! Scott and I will stay. I know what to do, and Scott is her anchor. OUT!" Derik...
My eyes were fluttering, barely open, and my breathe was labored. My I covered my nose, overrun with smells. "Ugh!" I groaned.
"What's going on?"
"The females usually go through different things than we do. Her emotions are better to control. Anger. Sadness. Females are good at control and hiding. They have to be. But other things, like senses, make up for that by going into hyperdrive."
"Okay... How we help her?"
"I'm going to stay quiet and you're going to talk."
Scott sighed. "This is all my fault.." He groaned.
"Not now, Scott. She needs you."
There was a moment's pause. "I.."
"Go to her," Derik urged.
Suddenly he was next to me, holding my head in his lap. His touch soothed me. "Don't die..." He whispered.
"I'm so inspired," I mumbled deliriously." Scott chuckled.
"I can't lose you."
"That's better," I said.
"This reminds me of... Allison. Holding you like this. You're all I have. I can't lose you! I can't watch you die in my arms because of me-again. I can't lose my first two loves. I can't. I'm barely holding on without Allison. You're my anchor, too. You're my new anchor. You're me new center. You've kept me sane as everything came crashing down around me."
"Scott..." I whispered, touching his face. "I won't die."
"You're too scared?" Scott teased.
I shook my head. "Not for me. For you."
A cool tear fell on my face. "Always for you...." And everything went dark.
Two month's later
Scott's POV
I was alone. All alone. I'd finally gotten over Allison, but now I had her to deal with. Her pain that was mine.
Suddenly she was next to me. "Hey, Scott."
No, she hadn't died that day. It was probably the most painful night I've ever dealt with. That moment I thought she died, I broke.
Something in me knew she was alive, but it seemed like delusion. I realized, after the fact, that it was 'imprinting' on her-as she liked to call it. And my changing her. We were connected completely and deeply-in every single way. I was, like, her 'master' and her lover. Her best friend and her boyfriend.
I smiled at her. "Hey."
She cuddled up to me and I marveled once again at how perfectly she fit against me.
We sat there for hours, just silently enjoying each other's company.
"So... Mates, huh?" Her joking tone made me smile.
"I guess I'm lucky. I may have claimed you, but you could have left me anyway... For Derik. Or Stiles. Or someone hotter and more amazing than all three of us."
She scoffed. "Like I could get anyone better than you," she said.
I looked at her. She was so unbelievably gorgeous, it kinda startled me. She... Was mine? No way.
"You could have any guy you wanted. You're so beautiful. So unbelievably gorgeous and perfect and amazing... I'm still in denial that I have you. I'm totally star struck"
She laughed. "So... Like a fan girl who gets asked out by the actor she's been obsessing over forever?"
"Even more star struck than that."
"That's impossible," She said, laughing.
I laughed too. "Not with you."
She looked at me, startled. "You really think that highly of me?"
"I really KNOW that highly of you. And it terrifies me every day that you're going to be a dream and I'll wake up and disappear. Instead I wake up next to you and.. Everything's complete."
"Everything?"
"Only with you."
She kissed me, sweetly. I smiled into it. "You are perfect too..."
I rolled my eyes.
"It's true. That killer jaw line and those brown eyes and that hair.." She fawned, pretending to faint.
I smiled.
"I love you," I said.
She froze. She'd said it that night during that rant, but this was the first calm admission she would give me. And I had said it first.
"I love you too. So much it hurts..."
I looked up. "We have to be together forever, okay? I don't think I can handle losing someone else I love," I said.
"Between no family and no sexual interest in any of my friends, I have no where else to go. You are my whole life, Scott..."
"Forever?" I encouraged.
She smiled. "Forever."
