Derek's Sister (Isacc)
"Hey babe," I said, coming up to Isacc and kissing him. His eyes went wide and he looked behind me desperately, nervously. I winced and turned around. Oops. "Hey, bro," I said slowly, waiting for him to blow up.
Derek glared at me. Then he closed his eyes, shook his head, and kept going. I looked at Isacc. "Are we in trouble?" He asked me.
"Not yet, I don't think," I whispered back.
"Training time," adhered snapped. I looked at Isacc and he looked back. We just might be... We started training and Derek seemed to be yelling at me a lot. Not Isacc, which I thought was weird. After it was done, I stood, breathing hard. Derek came up to me. "You're weak. Distracted. You're so worried about Isacc you're not focused on yourself," he snapped.
I stood straight backed and glared at Derek. "Don't reprimand me," I growled. "You're not dad. And I'm just as qualified to be Alpha as you are. Just because you killed Peter doesn't mean you're better than me. What happened to us being equals? Not I have to jump at every fucking thing I do that you see because you're being a psycho! Chill out Derek and stop acting like my Keeper and more like me brother!" Then I turned and walked away.
I sat on the curb and put my head in my hands. Someone sat next to me. Isacc. Of course.
"Hey," he told me.
"Hey," I responded. He took my hand.
"We're okay?"
"Of course."
He leaned his head against mine. "We'll be fine," he sighed.
"Yeah," I nodded.
-------
"You need to break up with him!"
"WHY?!"
"BECAUSE HE'S MAKING YOU WEAK!"
"HE MAKES ME STRONGER! UNLIKE YOU, WHO TEARS ME DOWN AND PUSHES ME AROUND, HE ACTUALLY ACTS LIKE HE LOVES ME! HE TREATS ME LIKE AN EQUAL AND ADMIRES ME... I'm something to him."
Derek growled.
"He's a good guy," I sighed. "He's smart and goofy and broken, but so am I. He was abused, I had almost my entire family burned alive. He's there for me and he understands me. He loves me in a way you can't, Derek. We can't have that kind of relationship, but I need it. I... I love him..." My eyes reared up and my fists clenched. "And if you can't handle us, then I don't think you can handle me. I'm done, Derek." I turned and began leaving. It was seemed I was leaving an argument. Always...
"Y/n!" I turned to see Isacc. "Where will you go?" He asked, looking upset. "I don't want to destroy your relationship with your brother..."
"Derek did that by himself," I said softly, touching Isacc's face. "Not you. You did nothing wrong." I kissed him.
"Where will you go," he repeated.
"Probably Scott's," I sighed. "Ask to be part of his pack... I don't know. Maybe I'll be on my own."
"No!" Isacc said, panicked. "Derek showed me what they do... Gerard is still out there and he destroys lone wolves! You can't!"
I closed my eyes tightly. "I'll be fine," I assured him. "I'll be at school and every fight, I promise. You need me, you call me. I'll be there when I hear you. I swear."
"You can't promise that."
"I swear it."
"Really?"
"Really."
I turned and left, feeling just as scared as Isacc felt about me. I was on my own... I took a deep breath and could only hope I wouldn't die...
------
I was racing, running against time.
I skidded to a stop as they all stood around. Isacc was on the couch, unconscious, and I immediately turned on Derek. "YOU IDIOT!"
"I don't baby him like you did," he growled.
"You don't baby him? You don't CARE about him," I sneered,
"Of course I care about him! He's part of my pack! Unlike you," he shot at me.
"You made that choice," I shot back. I kneeled next to Isacc, checking his vitals and making sure he was okay. He was. Of course. He was already healing and he'd be fine. He was mumbling things like an idiot and I smiled. What a dork...
"You're smiling," Derek whispered, as if awed,
I looked up at him. "That's what happens when someone is happy," I told him.
"You're happy with him?" Derek asked softly.
I stood. "I am." I looked down at Isacc, moving a piece of hair out of his face and kissing his forehead. Then I looked at Derek. "I'll leave now," I told him. "Don't want to... Impede of your Pack time." Then I left.
I heard Derek sigh and could feel how heavy it was, but I kept walking.
-----
I limped away, holding my side. I got shot. Shit.
I breathed deeply, turning my hands to claws. I dug out the bullet and breathed chopping, screwing my eyes shut. I sat there a second, waiting for it to heal. When it did, I stood shakily.
"Y/N!" Isacc was right behind me, rushing to be my knight in shining armor. I smiled as he came into view. "You were- Oh- You're bleeding- Are you okay? Should I go get Derek? Do you need to come back with me? I mean... A-are you okay?"
I smiled, shaking my head. "I'm fine, Isacc," I told him. I lifted my shirt, showing him that it healed.
"It healed?"
"I had to pull the sucker out, but, yeah, it healed." I shrugged.
"You..." He laughed, pulling me to him. "I love you," he laughed, kissing me.
"I love you too," I whispered.
-------
"Y/n, we need to talk."
"About?"
"I need you back. I... I need you to come back to the Pack."
I looked at Derek a long time. "What?" I asked.
"You're my sister, Y/n," he sighed. "We're always together. And frankly, everyone misses you. Just... Just come back."
I pursed my lips. Everyone misses me. Can't he just admit that he misses his sister? Like holy hell. "You know why I left, Derek."
Derek's jaw clenched and he stared at me for a very long time. "Does he make you happy?"
I looked back. "He does."
He breathed out of his nose. "As long as you're happy I really can't hate it..."
I smiled. And for the first time in a long time, I pulled Derek close, hugging him. "You'll always be family. My brother. Even when you're a pain in the ass, you're my pain in the ass. It means a lot that you approve. Thank you, Derek."
He wrapped his arms around me. "You're welcome."
Maybe things would be okay for a while. At least for a while.
