And Everything After (Part Four of The Worst News)

Y/n lay on the couch, eyes close, Isaac holding her hand with one hand and wiping the rest of the blood off her face with the other. She'd passed out a few seconds after they'd exited the house.

When her eyes opened Isaac shouted over his shoulder and everyone was around the couch. Y/n's eyesight was blurry and she was crying before she could think otherwise. She tried to hide herself, turning into the couch, tried to push it back in, but Osaac pulled her into his chest.

She'd grown more beautiful than the last time he'd seen her. It had been a while. She looked... Different. Older. Somehow. She'd defiantly grown. And Isaac didn't see a little girl anymore. He'd been stuck on that image of her, just a little girl with the soul of a forty year old. Able to confide in and get advice from, but... Young. Too young.

Now he saw himself in her eyes. Scared and broken and lonely, but she was stronger. She'd kept it hidden better for longer, even being in the pack she was in with the friends she had. No one had known how lonely and broken and sad she'd been.

But Isaac understood her pain, if he didn't know it exactly.

Everyone stood there silently, crowding around Y/n and Isaac as they pulled into a group hug while Y/n sobbed into Isaac's chest.after a second they all pulled apart. Y/n calmed down and everyone left her and Isaac alone.

"Y/n?" He whispered.

"Don't," she whispered back. She pulled from him, standing up and walking to the window. She folded her arms across her chest. "I'm sorry you had to save me. I should have been stronger. I'm sorry I passed out too. Don't- Don't worry about me. You're back. Wh- What happened? Why?"

"I heard you died," he said simply.

Her eyes brows came together. "Uh, that was kind of forever ago."

"I was in France, Y/n. Going through... My own problems. I didn't get the message immediately and when I did, it took me a while to get back here. But I came here immediately, dropping everything. I came here immediately. I couldn't believe you were dead. When they explained everyone I almost died with relief myself."

"Why?" She asked, whipping around. "Why do you care?"

Isaac stood, getting in her face. "Why else?" He demanded.

"I don't know! What else?" She responded fiercely.

In frustration Isaac found himself leaning even closer. "You're so frustrating!"

"You're so vague!" She shot back.

"I came all the way here to make sure you were okay and you're going to yell at me!"

"I can't deal with you being here again! I can't open up to you again!"

"Why not?!"

"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!" She screamed. Their faces were inches apart. "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU AND YOU FOUND FUN PASSING TIME PLAYING WOTH MY HEART, RUNNING OFF WITH MY OLDER SISTER FIGURE, THEN RUNNING OFF TO PARIS WOTHUT EVEN TELLING ME!"

Isaac froze. Then he grabbed her face and smashed her lips to his. Y/n gasped in surprise and Isaac leaned in, pulling her closer to him, pressing her back against the wall. She didn't hesitate. Her fingers intertwined in his hair as one of his hands dropped to her waist, pulling her as close as she could be. Her head turned, offering a better angle, and when Isaac licker her bottom lip, her mouth opened. His tongue slipped in, exploring her mouth.

It was a different experience, but not bad. Just different.

Isaac leaned back to let the, breath, leaning his forehead on Y/n's.

"Wh-what was that?" Y/n breathed out, her breath shaky.

"I could ask you the same thing."

"Ah but I already told you. I've told you before. Before you left. Before you ran to Allison. I told you that I loved you forever ago. You made it clear we were only friends. Now you're here, and I confess to you again because you must have forgotten, and you... You..."

"I kissed you," Isaac whispered, humor lacing his voice.

"Yeah. That." A phase. "Why?"

"Y/n... When I got that call that you were dead, I couldn't believe it. I had to see your body. I had to see you dead, in the ground, dead. I kept telling myself it was Beacon Hills. There's no way that you could die. There's no way you were gone. But then I thought of Allison. Her face kept flashing in my mind, very much dead. And it suddenly seemed very possible."

"Isaac..."

"Hush. When I saw that image, of you lying there in Scott's or Stiles' arms, dead, eyes devoid of life and body getting cold, shut up in some coffin or at some morgue. The bought did something to me, Y/n. It... It broke me. I... I realized that I'd lost you. You were gone. I'd never gotten to hold you and tell you it was going to be okay like you'd done for me, time and time again. I'd never kissed you or hugged you. Really hugged you. I realized that you were gone and your last experience of me was going after Allison the leaving Beacon Hills the second she died."

"Isaac..."

"And I couldn't stand the idea that you hated me, even though you must have. You must have hated me, because who wouldn't? But after all this time, even after Theo - which Scott did so nicely explain to me as you explained to him - even after someone treated you well, you fought him simply using the thought of me to keep yourself strong. That's amazing, y/n. More than I could ever do. You were endlessly faithful to me, your heart breaking for me over and over and you never once hated me."

"Isaac..."

"You stayed truth and strong and you waited, knowing I'd come back. But even before I knew this, all I could think was that you were gone and that I'd never come to realize that I'd liked you since the beginning but it terrified me because you were so small. That I was attracted to you, but Allison was better somehow because she was older. I liked Allison because she was you, but older. I knew she was using me. I knew that she loved Scott. And when she turned to him in her last breath, I didn't hurt basically at all. Not like I knew I should. But I almost died when I heard you died..."

"Are you done?" Y/n whispered.

"I... I guess."

She pulled him into another passionate kiss. He smiled and so did she. Then she leaned back and slapped him. "That was for leaving me and trying to hook up with Allison. That was for putting me through that." Isaac looked at her, shocked. She pulled him into a long kiss. "That was for everything else."

Isaac looked at her, confused. "I... You're an amazing woman," he whispered.

She smiled. "You better remember that," she ordered.

"I couldn't forget if you told me to," Isaac said, a smile growing on his face. The Pack came in, seeing the end of the exchange between the two.

"So? You guys official or...?" Scott began.

Lydia hit his shoulder. "Scott!" Everyone laughed.

Y/n looked at Isaac and he looked back. "Are we?" She asked.

"I sure hope so," He sighed, cocking his eyebrows.

She beamed.

Her lip was cut and there was a bruise forming on her jaw but as she turned to her new boyfriend, finally with the man she'd loved since freshman year, and her friends behind him, she was finally and completely content.

So she'd been found out. Things might get difficult now that she didn't really have a home but she'd figure it out.

She had amazing friends and a great boyfriend and all their families to love. She had a reason to be in this town and people to protect and a life to live. She was going into her senior year some day and she'd get to do that senior thing with the rest of her friends. She'd go to college then and live her life.

The life she'd been given back.

"So what now?" She sighed. "I don't exactly have somewhere to live... I can't go back..."

"You can live here with me and Isaac," Scott offered, smiling.

Lydia busted up laughing. "As if! She doesn't need to live with her boyfriend! They'll be having sec every night!" Y/n blushed horribly but when she looked over at Isaac, she was smirking. She gulped.

"So where will she go then?" Mason asked.

"With me?" Stiles offered.

"As if," Malia laughed. "She needs someone female in her life to help her with gossip and emotional support and boys." Everyone looked at her, shocked. "What? I've caught onto quite a lot since I've been around you guys. She needs a Lydia."

"Then it's settled! You'll come live with me." Lydia beamed at Y/n and Y/n smiled back.

"Perfect," Y/n sighed.

And in that moment, everything was perfect. In that moment, everything was complete.

Things could have been better. Derek could be here. So could Allison. Isaac could have realized his feelings further.

But you know what? Y/n wouldn't have it any other way. And neither would anyone else in the room.

Because it was perfect. Absolutely and completely... Perfect.
