There's a loud bang on my bedroom door."Lucy wake up your going to be late for school."

I open my eyes, light seeps in through the cracks in the blinds. I sit up and throw the covers off and toss my legs over the edge of the bed and rub my eyes."Lucy are you up yet?"asked my mothers voice from behind the door,.

I sigh, my hands falling from my face."I'm up."i say as I stand up and head for my dresser. I open the top drawer and grab a nice blue shirt and jeans and walk to my bathroom and quickly get dressed.

Once I'm done I grab my toothbrush and brush my teeth. Then I comb my long blonde hair and look at myself in the mirror as I do a sideways part, I set my comb down and head out the door grabbing my car keys and purse and open my bedroom door.

I pass through the hallway, pictures of my family were hung on the wall, I walk into the kitchen and see my mother setting some eggs and grits at my seat at the table, I sit and start eating.

She sets a cup of coffee down in front of me."did u sleep good honey?"she asks looking at me over the counter. I take a long sip of my coffee before I answer.

"Yes I slept fine."I say as I continue to eat.

"I want you to know the mail came and there a letter for you from the university you and your friends signed up for the other day."says my mother.

I look up at her."Really?"I ask, she nods. Excitement fills me.

The other day my friends Drew and Tyler and I had signed up for a university, and I've been waiting for a letter to come in. "thank you for letting me know."I say as I finish eating.

She smiles."anytime. Now Drew called and he needs a ride to school so I told him you would drop by on your way."says my mother. I nod.

"OK well i better get moving, I'll see you after school. " Love you." Isay as I grab my keys and coffee and head out the door.

I left the letter at home planing to read it when i get back, I text Drew and let him know I'm on the way.

I open the car door and start my car. I back out of the driveway and head for Drew's.
