If there's anything you need...
I don't own Harry Potter, the characters, or the setting of this. Only the plot Is mine. I'm sure you don't care that much because you know that. Some of the chapters are really short, but I'm seeing if I can make my idea come to life in one night. Wish me luck. Anyway, enjoy if I've actually posted this.
The trial had just finished, and Draco was to leave the courtroom as a free man. Well nearly... He was to give up his wand for two months, and after it was returned the ministry was allowed to check the spells he'd cast if suspicion was placed upon Draco. There was also the fact that he'd leave the country to live with muggles until school began.
Harry found this was fitting. Much more fitting then the seven years at Azkaban would have been. Evil was not something Draco was. In fact, Harry didn't think Draco was truly able to do actual evil.
Draco had been unable to murder Dumbledore. Looking back, Harry realized Draco's heart simply wasn't in it. If he'd really wanted, Draco could have marched into Dumbledore's office and with two words murdered him. Perhaps during supper, he could have aimed, and the room would have only seen a green light if Draco was sneaky enough. Instead Draco had given poison to Slughorn, hinting at sharing it with Dumbledore. Harry knew Dumbledore didn't like that particular drink, and it was also stated on Dumbledore's chocolate frog card. (I know it's not, pretend it is)
When Harry was truly in need, Draco had lied for him. That simple lie had saved Harry from meeting the dark lord, and most likely Harry's end. Looking back, Harry wasn't sure if he'd have come back, and been able to get out. It just wasn't likely.
His thoughts were interrupted when an Auror asked Harry to come with him. He wore the official robes, and all. He had been at the trial watching Draco from behind. The auror was short. He seemed angry, and his face had prominent worry lines. The auror had already started walking off before he spoke, "Right this way Mister Potter. Someone wants to talk to you."
Grumpy, Harry had nicknamed the Auror was walking fast. Despite Grumpy's short legs, Harry had to speed up to stay near him. They made three quick turns before they made it to their location.
"Just through this door Mister Potter," Grumpy said with a frown. Harry followed his instructions.
Despite just going to Draco Malfoy's trial, Harry had not expected to talk to him. Now he stood leaning on a desk before him. Those grey eyes were staring at him, and it made Harry a little uncomfortable.
"Don't be afraid Potter, you should be well aware that I'm wandless." Then he commented, "well not totally I suppose."
Harry furrowed his eyebrows, but moved into the room nonetheless. The door shutting closed on its own scared Harry a little, which in turn made Draco smirk.
The smirk faltered. "I'm glad Auror Corwin was able to find you before you left. I had wanted to say thank you."
Harry scratches his neck. Then said with his eyes on the ground, "it wasn't a big deal. Would have done that for any random git."
"Sure you would have Potter." Draco seemed amused. "But very little people, besides you would have in your position."
Draco stalked towards him in the elegant manner he always walked. Somehow now it seemed more predatory, like a cat that knew it would get its meal if it was careful. "On the contrary though, it's very much a big deal."
At the moment, Harry was rather uncomfortable. Draco was in his space, and felt like he wasn't in control despite having a wand up his sleeve. A hand fell onto his shoulder, and he stiffened slightly.
"If there's anything you need Potter, and I mean anything. Let me know." Draco retracted his arm, walked away, and sat on a chair. "Perhaps I'll see you at Hogwarts Potter."
