Welcome To The Valley

A story about a woman named Avery who comes to Pelican Town that's located in Stardew Valley, with their daughter.

"Are we there yet mom?" A girl asked her mother who was looking at the letter that they found in their old desk at that awful office building, Joja. "We're almost there my child. Don't worry. It won't be long now," Avery, the woman who is the girl's mother, said before putting the letter away in their bag. "I don't see why I couldn't have gone to grandma and grandpa's home and come by later." "I'm sorry Mercy, it's not my fault that they went on a cruise. Besides, if we work together, we can get things done a lot quicker." Mercy, the girl, groaned before going back to reading her book.

"Hey, I'm sure they're kids your age." "Mom, I'm seventeen, almost eighteen. For crying out loud. This Pelican Town sounds like it's full of old people, children, and a lot of empty space." "No, no. There's going to be kids your age. Just you wait," Avery told her before ruffling Mercy's chestnut brown hair. When the bus came to a stop, Avery got out and saw a redheaded woman waiting for them. "You must be Avery! It's mighty nice to meet you, I'm Robin!" The woman known as Robin said as Avery smiled and shook her hand just as Mercy got out with her bag in tow. The woman gasped and said, "And this must be Mercy!" "Yep, this is Mercy, my little girl." "Mom! Seventeen! I doubt that's little!"

Robin chuckled at the reaction before leading the two to the farm. "I took the liberdy and upgraded your house to home more than one bedroom. Mayor Lewis didn't like it, but he couldn't fight me on this since they're two of you." "That's kind of you Robin. Thank you." "Don't mention it." When they got to the farm, Avery and Mercy were shocked to see how things looked. It was overgrown and things were destroyed." After an introduction to mayor Lewis and everything, Avery and Mercy went right to bed and rested. Come the next morning which was early and Avery got right to work while Mercy slept in. Avery started clearing the field, not even an hour into it, they were already tired. "Damn, a lot of work to do," Avery thought before getting right to planting the parsnips they got from Lewis and watering them. After that, Avery built two chests. One for produce and the other for wood, fiber, etc, etc.

Mercy got out of bed and went outside. "Morning mom!" "It's almost twelve Merc! You slept in!" "Sorry, not sorry!" Mercy called out as Avery walked off, wiping sweet off of their face. "You ready to head into town to meet people?" Avery asked their daughter who responded, "You go do that, I'm going to take a walk." Avery and Mercy broke apart, Avery heading down the path toward the bus stop while Mercy went north towards the mountains. Mercy kept walking, picking up flowers and dandelions and putting them in her bag. Avery may have forgotten to upgrade their bag, but Mercy remembered to take their heavy duty bag for carrying more things. Finally, Mercy made it to the mountain and found a leek. Mercy grabbed it and pulled it out of the ground. "Awesome," Mercy thought as she saw an old man by his fire which was by his tent. Mercy looked at the leek before walking over to him.

"Excuse me, but I want to give this to you," Mercy said as she gave the man the leek after gaining his attention. "Wow, this is amazing. Thank you young woman." "No problem. I'm Mercy by the way." The old man smiled warmly before saying, "Lewis is my name." Mercy took off and went down the hill toward the lake. "Wow," Mercy whispered. It was beautiful up here on the mountain. Mercy thought living here was going to be awful, but so far, everything has been going great. Mercy's phone started ringing and Mercy pulled out her phone to see it was her mother calling and she smiled at the caller ID, it was her and making silly faces. The photo was old, but it was still wonderful. Mercy sighed before answering, "Yeah ma?"

"Mercy, I was checking up on you and to let you know to not get to close to the mines," her mother said while Mercy looked to the side to see that the mines were blocked off. "Don't worry ma, the mines are blocked anyway. Someone is working on clearing the area from being blocked," Mercy told her before thinking a bit and saying, "Don't forget to get dinner for tonight!" "Alright, alright kiddo. See you at home," Avery said before hanging up. Mercy put away her phone and sat down, watching the view and the birds flying around. After some time, Mercy got up and started to walk towards town with her eyes closed.. she ended up bumping into someone. "Oh shit, sorry!" Mercy said as she stumbled backwards. Mercy looked up to see a young man, maybe a bit older than her, but still young, he had black hair that was hanging over one side of his face and the other side was short, he was wearing a purple hoodie with black pants and black shoes.

"It's my fault, I should have been paying more attention," he said. "No, no, no, no, it was my fault. I had my eyes closed like a dork," Mercy said causing the both of them to smile nervously. "Uhm, I'm Sebastian," he said as she smiled and replied, "And I'm Mercy, I just moved in yesterday at that old farm." "So you're the new farmer." "There's TWO new farmers, but yes, I am the new farmer in a way." The two decided to walk to town together, and they made it, until Mercy saw her mother. "Mercy! My little numb nut," Avery called out causing Mercy to cover her face. Sebastian covered his mouth, finding this funny, but not so much since his mother does the same thing as well. "Hey mom. How was meeting everyone?" Mercy asked before walking over and waving Sebastian goodbye. "It was amazing! Everyone's so fucking nice!" Avery said as Mercy chuckled and said, "Maybe they're aliens. Oooooo spooky."

"Oh my YOBA. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!" Avery exclaimed as the two walked home together. Sebastian watched them walk off, amazed that the new farmers are not normal, but they're amazing in their own weird way. When they got home, Avery asked, "So who was the boy you met?" "His name is Sebastian, Robin's son." "Robin has a son? I knew she had a daughter and husband, but a son! I guess he doesn't come out much." "He doesn't, he stays inside. He's like a vampire," Mercy joked causing the two to laugh while they ate their dinner.

Yeah, living here in Stardew is going to be just fine for Avery and Mercy. What's the worse that could happen while they're here?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been wanting to do this ever since I started playing Stardew and I could not get this out of my head for the life of me. AND NOW I'M GLAD TO HAVE FINALLY WRITTEN THIS DOWN. Someone, please, I have too many story ideas, stop my cursed hands.
But with this story, it's going to be about Mercy and Avery's life in Stardew until Mercy learns how to accept the farmer's life and that Avery learns to find new love or continues life as a farmer. I dunno, I just like this and I'm proud that I finally did this. Should I continue this or should I just leave it like this let my mind rot away? Let me know in the comments and thank you so much for reading! Hoped you enjoyed and peace out! Buh-bye!
