Monsters Are Free, But I'm Still Trapped
That's right, it's an Undertale story plot I have in mind. Frisk isn't a kid, they're about seventeen years old. We'll see what happens!
Start: 4/2/2020 1:50 PM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frisk had freed the monsters from underground, bringing them to surface above where the sun is shining bright even when it's setting down for the night, they smile with happiness and with tears in their eyes from many years of pain and suffering in silence. Now they're free to be who they are now. There are monsters in the forest just at the base of the mountain, setting up camp for the night and so they can have the king, Asgore, meet with the humans in the morning and have a friendly conversation with them about letting the monsters and human live together in harmony. There are monsters underground still, packing their things, saying goodbye to some memories underground, and helping each other through everything.
But something didn't settle right with Frisk. They had told Toriel that they wanted to stay with her, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys. Mettaton, and everyone! Frisk told them they want to stay, but Frisk didn't tell Toriel what the humans are to them. Frisk had also retrieved Flowey and planted him in a pot of dirt before carrying him out while he kept telling them to go back and leave him behind. But that was then, now is now. Frisk was sitting at a camp fire, holding the potted plant known as Flowey who was almost known as Asriel, but he requested that he doesn't be called the name of the dead prince he was. Not only for him, but for his family. It was dark and the monsters were eating and chatting, all with a smile. "Human," Papyrus called out to Frisk causing them to look at the tall skeleton. "Would you like some spaghetti?"
Frisk shook their head. "I still say you put me back, Frisk," Flowey told them while Papyrus ran off to chat with Undyne, wanting her to try some of his spaghetti. "No. I refuse to let you be alone again. You need me, you need a friend and I'm always going to be here for you, Flowey." Flowey groaned, not wanting to be here since, again, he wanted to be left behind. Frisk's head perked up when they heard a rustle in the bushes from the far right. Frisk set Flowey down on the ground causing Flowey to look at them with confusion. "Come out," Frisk demanded which gained some attention from Asgore and Toriel. Frisk took a breath, clinching the heart locket around their neck as the worn dagger they used to defeat Asgore and Flowey both times was in their boot, protected by a sheath. "Come out, now," Frisk spoke. Asgore and Toriel got up and were about to approach Frisk, but a voice spoke up from the bushes, "Not until you're far away from those MONSTERS. They mean to harm you and your people, us humans."
Frisk looked at Toriel and Asgore and said, "Please stand back. He's stubborn." "He?" Sans asked as Toriel and Asgore looked at each other before taking a step back. A human boy with messy black hair, covered in leaves, twigs, and slightly damp, green eyes, but he wasn't dressed like Frisk where they were wearing plain clothes. He was dressed neatly as if he were trying to be show he was royal or something, but of course, his clothes were ripped. "Sebastian," Frisk greeted as this Sebastian glared at the monsters behind Frisk before looking at them and saying, "Why are you here? And how are they free? Monsters are to be trapped UNDERGROUND. You should know this of all people, little one."
"They are living too and they are here to stay." "Kiddo, who is this?" Sans asked, suddenly the boy next to Frisk shouted, "Back away, foul monster! You are to NOT address a royal with such a CHILDISH NAME." Sans put up his hands and said, "Whoa, easy buddo. I ain't harming you. I'm just trying to tickle your funny bone." Frisk covered their face, trying not to chuckle when this is serious. "Frisk, we're going home. Mother and father need to know that monsters are above and that they nearly killed you," Sebastian said, grabbed Frisk's wrist forcefully. Frisk pulled away from him and took numerous steps away from him until they were close to the others, where Sebastian wouldn't reach for them. Sebastian glared at them, anger in his eyes. "What are you doing?" "I don't want to go back. They have been nothing but kind to me. I showed them kindness. I want to stay with them. Mother and father will be hearing from both myself and Asgore Dreemurr."
"Surely you're joking."
"I'm not and never call me Surely," Frisk told him, which caused Sans to laugh while Toriel remained composed. "Fine, I see how it is. But know that any other monster that tries to come out from that mountain will be killed on sight. You better go and warned them that they are to not come out until further notice. Everyone else that are here will bare witness of this night that I, Sebastian The 3rd, the prince of the Capital, next in line to become king, have warned you, you foul monsters. If you so harm Frisk, princess of the Capital, the human's last ray of hope. Then you will be sorry. One stand of hair missing, then it's death to you and all monsters."
Papyrus was confused by the long name so Frisk spoke up, "Sebastian, just go. No one can take you seriously when you're a mess." "You'll know your place soon, sister," Sebastian said as he walked off. "Kid, you're a princess?" "As much as I don't want to be, yes. I am of royal blood," Frisk said, shame and sadness creeping over their face. "That doesn't change you for who you are to us, my child. You are still Frisk, the savor of monsters and my child," Toriel told them. Frisk looked at Toriel and had tears swell up in their bright green eyes. Frisk ran to Toriel and hugged her. "And you are also my child, Frisk," Asgore told them. Frisk ran off to the mountain and told all monsters to stay down for the time being so they can talk to the king and queen of the humans. Some were upset, but they stayed down underground. Mettaton volunteered to stay down with them so those underground won't be alone and have a spark with them still.
The morning came and what they woke up to, shocked them. There were guardsmen around the camp. Who was leading them? Sebastian. "Sebastian!" Frisk snarled out while Sans stood by Papyrus' side, looking relaxed even though Frisk knew he was scared and ready to shed blood if something were to happen to Papyrus. "Princess Frisk, by order of King Sombra, you are to go to the castle with the king of monsters, Asgore Dreemurr. The rest of the monsters, shall be taken into the city under high surveillance. You are allowed two others to follow you." Frisk looked at everyone. Frisk was obviously taking Flowey either they sneak him or not, but they couldn't take Toriel. Who would watch after the others? Maybe Papyrus? But then Sans would follow, not wanting Papyrus to be lost or hurt.
Maybe Undyne? No, then Papyrus would want to follow and Alphys might also want to come along. It was hard to choose would would go with them and who will stay. "I'll go with the kid, I'm sure my bro would also like to know more about humans," Sans suddenly spoke up causing Frisk to look at him. "Nyeh heh heh! I'd love to see the kitchens at the human's home!" Papyrus cheered. "Let me just grab my bag," Frisk said as they went into their tent they shared with Toriel and Flowey. "What's going on out there?" Flowey asked as Frisk told him to be quiet before stuffing him into their bag, making sure to make a small breathing hole that could also be seen out of. Frisk got out of the tent and followed Sebastian and two guards out of the forest with Sans and Papyrus right behind then and with Asgore next to them. Frisk looked back and saw saw the others be taken away towards the city.
"Be safe my child!" Toriel called out to Frisk as Frisk nodded before looking at Sans who kept his hands in his pockets. "Hey, don't sweat it kid. I promised Tori that I'll keep a watchful eye on you and I still am even if you're not going to get hurt now. I'm still going to watch over you." Frisk thought back to when Sans told them that he's been protecting them, but when Frisk was in danger, no one was there to help them, in fact, Frisk did die a handful of times. Frisk died twice by Undyne's hand, Frisk had their ass handed to them by Aaron and Temmie, Temmie got most of the hits on Frisk before Aaron showed up and Temmie "died" from him then it was him who killed them. Frisk died three times by Mettaton, then finally, Frisk had perished five times while trying to fight Asgore.
After he was done, Frisk was destroyed by Flowey, far too much to remember, but they didn't count since Flowey kept loading them in their fight where Frisk began to grow numb to the pain. Okay, maybe it wasn't a handful of time they died, but still, they died so many times when Sans was suppose to be protecting them. But that's then, this is now; Frisk was walking by Sans, Papyrus, and Asgore still with Sebastian and the two guards in front of them. "Little one, don't diddly dally, do keep up," Sebastian said as Frisk kept quiet, not speaking up. "Giving the silent treatment, eh? What do I expect from a weakling of a fifth sister?" Frisk looked down while Papyrus decided to pick Frisk up causing them to get startled. "Human! Don't be down, stay up!" Frisk laughed at Papyrus unnoticeable joke with Sans laughing too and Asgore giving a smile. "What? What's funny?" "You just made a bad joke, bro," Sans told him causing Papyrus to rethink before realizing. "Oh no! My worst nightmare!"
The whole place around them was covered with new stuff and everything. Not because it seemed like Frisk was gone a long time, but it was so different to monsters. Back when the land above was mostly farm land with a leader or two, but this? This was nothing like the past. The tall buildings? They were just buildings, but right the center of them all was a building that looked over a hundred years old. Yes, the human villages still remained with a few chances, but the capital- Frisk's kingdom- had changed so much. The castle might've been built after the first human-monster war. Frisk was set down by Papyrus when a few people noticed them. They were scared, but they know that "humans could beat the monsters without breaking a sweat" because monsters are built on love and compassion while humans had more physical abilities to them. Frisk and the others entered the front gate of the huge building. The main entrance was nothing fancy besides the row of old guardsman suits up until the here and now of time.
"Come along to the queen's study," Sebastian said as the guards go away. Frisk followed, checking that the other three are with them. "What happened to father?" Frisk asked as Sebastian replied, "Father had taken ill after YOU so brainlessly ran off in the dead of night. Father spent a whole day looking for you, IN THE RAIN. He ended up getting sick and he is now bedridden. I highly doubt he wants to see you." Frisk looked down, upset that the only person they care about is sick because of their foolishness. "Besides, I highly doubt you see him as a father after your little play date underground."
"I still see him as a man who has earned my respect. He is the only one who cares about me besides," before Frisk could even finish, Sebastian stopped in front of a door with soft pastel colors painted on it. making it look like a sunset with a colorful sky with golden flowers painted on, replacing the stars.
"You ready to meet mother?" Sebastian asked as Frisk was about to answer, but was cut off by him, "Of course you are. You don't have a choice. You two boneheads, you stay outside with the guard. You, goat, come along." Frisk gave an apologetic look towards Sans and Papyrus as they and Asgore followed Sebastian into the study. When the two entered, they were greeted with a woman sitting at a desk, wearing a lovely blue dress with gold trimming and a cloak that had a emblem of three circles next to each other with a golden line to divide three triangles that are below. She had midway brown hair tied up into a small ponytail, her eyes were blue, and she looked like she hadn't gotten any sleep whatsoever. Not to mention, she really looked like Frisk, only with blue eyes. "Sebastian, thank you for returning Frisk home and bringing guests." Sebastian brought up a hand and placed it against his chest, where his heart is. "It's my honor, mother." "Leave us Sebastian. You have your studies to attend to," she spoke as Sebastian did as told, leaving Frisk, Asgore, and the woman. The woman AKA the queen of the humans, stood up from her desk and walked over and stood in front of Asgore and Frisk.
"Frisk, my dear child," she greeted before looking at Asgore and greeted in with a nod, "You must be be Asgore Dreemurr, king of monsters. It's an honor to meet you." "Likewise, Mrs..?" "Miller. Rebecca Miller, queen of the humans of the Capital and nearby villages." Rebecca said as she walked to Frisk and checked on them. "Mr. Dreemurr, I was told that you and a few others had set up camp until my son was so brainlessly foolish to go out in the dead of night to look for Frisk. I apologize for how he acted, he can be a bit.. rash," she started before taking a step back from Frisk and facing Asgore. They had freckles on their tanned skin now that they are closer and able to see clearer. "But I must ask, how were you freed from the underground?"
"How were we free is unknown to a full extent, but I do know that Frisk had something to do with it, and so, they're the savor of monsters." The queen looked at Frisk and spoke, "My dear child, is this true?" Frisk looked at their mother and answered, "Yes, this is true. I saved the monsters from the underground, I befriended them, and got to learn their stories. I became the ambassador of monsters." "Ambassador? My, what a rank to be placed as, my dear," Rebecca said, smiling at Frisk. Their mother was a nice woman, but was always harsh with their other siblings. Frisk always thought she was kind to them because Frisk was always a weak child growing up, their siblings however, that's a mystery. "Toriel and Asgore also decided to take me under their wing since I want to stay with them," Frisk spoke, ready for anything. Rebecca's eyes widen before turning sad.
"I see. You wish to stay with them. My dear, you know I will always support you, but do remember that you still sickly, you'll be needing you medicine and plenty of rest, you have studies that are still going, and you are to visit me, your father, sisters, and brothers during the weekends and on holidays," Rebecca said, smiling at them. "Thank you mother," Frisk said before Rebecca turned to Asgore and spoke, "Mr. Dreemurr, promise me you'll look after Frisk. I don't want her to fall ill." "I promise. My wife and I will take care of them as if they were our own child." Rebecca smiled before looking back at Frisk and speaking, "Frisk, go look for your sisters with your friends that are outside. Mr. Dreemurr and I will be discussing about letting the monsters live with us in harmony." Frisk nodded and went to leave while Rebecca and Asgore started to discuss important manners. Frisk looked at the table in the middle of the room that had a map, pens, pencils, erasers, and a empty cup that looked like it had tea.
Frisk left the room, closing the door behind them and taking a good look at it. Frisk and their sisters had painted it. Mostly their sisters. Sara, May, and Amber had painted it, representing the sunset with the stars falling into place, but they saw Frisk who wanted to bond with them. They gave a paintbrush to Frisk with yellow paint on it and Frisk started painting the stars, but Frisk made them look slightly like the buttercup flowers. They were caught by their mother and they said it was all Frisk's idea, but instead of Rebecca becoming angry with the girls, she smiled and thanked them for making the door look beautiful.
Their mom had some kind of protection gloss painted over the painting to keep it from peeling off. Frisk turned and faced Sans. "Heya kiddo, what did your mom have to say?" He asked, hands in his pockets. Frisk smiled before answering that their mom is happy that she's safe and is discussing plans with Asgore, but in the meantime, Frisk should find their sisters and check in on them. "Sounds like a plan kiddo." Frisk was about to walk out of the hallway, but they were stopped by a young boy with messy back hair and blue eyes, wearing a green suit. He was panting while Frisk helped them. "Frisk?! Is it really you?!" The boy asked, standing stright now and holding Frisk by the shoulders. Frisk nodded before getting crushed into a hug and tears from their brother who was born before them. "I'm so glad you're safe! I missed you!" He cried out as Frisk smiled before saying, "Harry, I'm okay." Harry kept crying until Flowey spoke up from the backpack, "Jeez, this kid sure if a crybaby." Frisk made a displeased sound, pushing Harry back a bit before taking off their back and pulling Flowey out.
"Look who's talking and Harry has the right to be upset," Frisk told him before looking at Harry who had eyes of amazement. "Is this a talking flower?" He asked as Frisk smiled and nodded. Harry smiled before he started talking, "I only read about Echo Flowers, but I didn't think they'd exist! Only books ever talk about them and they they repeat everything you ever say!" Frisk chuckled before speaking up, "Flowey isn't an echo flower, he's a buttercup." Harry's eyes only sparkled more until Sans made a sound that was close to sounding like a laugh, Harry looked at Sans and he asked, "Are you a skeleton monster?!" Sans shrugged before answering, "I dunno, I might be a bag of bone without the bag."
Harry ran over to him and held his hands making Sans somewhat confused until Harry started asking so many questions, "Is it true skeleton monsters can do bone attacks?! Do only certain kinds of skeletons get to teleport if they've horrid events and/or trained themselves to the fullest?! OOOH! Before the monsters went underground, who was the skeleton that came up with the concept of Gaster Blasters?! Is it true you can only do blue attacks until you are able to do orange attacks once you're over a hundred and thirty?!" Sans didn't know how to respond, but he looked over at Frisk who said, "Harry, go easy on him... wait, where's Papyrus?" Sans grinned before answering, "He went to the kitchen." Frisk looked worried before speaking up, "Sans, Harry, can you go find Papyrus? I have to find our sisters."
"Without a doubt! On the way, you can tell me about these echo flowers and everything about boss monsters! Oh! And can you tell me about how monster souls work along with their magic and aging process?" Harry asked as he and Sans walked away. "That smiley trashbag is going to get what he deserves," Flowey said as Frisk walked down the halls, on the hunt for their sisters. "Harry's dream job is to become a scientist who studies both humans and monsters. I should have brought back an echo flower for him," Frisk sighed out before making it outside in the garden where three girls sat, reading. "Sara! May! Amber!" The three girls looked up and smiled before calling out with happiness in their voices, "Frisk! You're okay!" The three girls set their books down and ran over to Frisk. "Flowey, meet my sisters. Sara, the eldest," Frisk introduced them one by one. Sara had black hair and green eyes while wearing a pale yellow dress. "May, the second eldest," May had brown hair and blue eyes a green dress with a purple apron, it seemed like she had been baking with the chiefs no too long ago. "And then Amber, the youngest of the triplets." Amber bowed her head, wearing a light blue dress and round glasses that fit her perfectly with her brown hair and blue eyes.
"Frisk, what happened to you? We were worried sick!" May said, pulled Frisk's ear making them whine slightly. Amber pulled May off before looking at them with concern. "I'm fine. And I went underground and saved the monsters," Frisk told the three girls until Sara looked down at Frisk and said, "That was brainless and foolish. No wonder why Sebastian was fuming last night. Just imagine how upset grandma and grandpa would be." Frisk looked down and Flowey said, "Hey! At least Frisk didn't stay here and do nothing! They made friends! They're strong!" Amber stepped between the four and looked at them before shaking her head a no. "Fine. Dad is in his and mother's room. Not sure if you want to say hello to him with.. that thing with you."
Frisk didn't listen to Sara. Frisk carried Flowey with them inside the castle, leaving the three sisters alone in the garden. Frisk went to two big doors at the end of a hallway, six scattered doors in the same hallway, each with a sign on the door of which room belonged to who. The nearest room of the queen and king's chambers belonged to the youngest child; Frisk. Second nearest room belonged to the child with book smarts; May. Third belong to the child with the temper; Sebastian. Fourth belonged to the child who wishes to know more than what is told in books; Harry. Fifth belonged to the one who is always silent; Amber. And finally, the sixth room belonged to the one who holds an iron fist and will not hesitate to strike anyone down with words for she cannot hold a blade; Sara.
Frisk knocked on the doors, waiting for an answer, but no one spoke. Frisk tried again, but no one answered. Frisk sighed before opening the door, taking a peak inside and finding the semi-large room dark, the bed that was close to the doors had a man sleeping in it. It was dark so it was hard to see, but Frisk's eyes quickly adjusted to the light that shining in from the hallway. The man had black hair, a slight beard going on, he had pale skin, and he looked like he had been asleep for along the whole day. This man was Frisk's father, a caring man, but a man who doesn't really trust monsters unless he sees that they can be trusted. Frisk looked at Flowey who didn't say anything thankfully. Frisk quietly closed the door before walking to the closest room and entering, finding their room how they left it.
Dinner will be ready not too long from now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few hours had passed, Toriel, Undyne, Alphys, Papyrus, and Sans had made it to the dinning hall of the castle and sat down. "Sans? How was everything when you, Papyrus, Asgore, and Frisk came to the castle?" Toriel asked the short skeleton who shrugged and answered, "It went smoothly. Asgore talked with Frisk's mother, Papyrus got to see the kitchen, I got asked a million questions about monsters, the underground, and skeletons, and the kid.. I haven't seen them much to be honest." Toriel looked concern, but it was quickly replaced with a neutral face as the doors opened to allow Asgore and Queen Rebecca to enter. Asgore sat across from Toriel who was seated next to Sans and Papyrus. Alphys was next to Undyne which left the seat to Asgore's left open, the seat across Sans. The table was fairly long for a large group of people to be eating. Rebecca sat at the head of the table, near the monsters. "Good evening everyone, I am Rebecca Miller, mother of Sebastian, Sara, Amber, May, Harry, and Frisk. My husband, Lucas, will not be attending tonight's meal, he's still recovering from a bad cold."
Just then, five children entered before sitting on the other side of the monsters, trying to keep a distance, all but two, Amber and Harry. "Sans, what you were saying about being able to teleport AKA "your shortcuts", they wear you out and you can only go back to where you've been before, but there is a distance you have to go to in order to get to where you need to go? Not to mention, those blasters! You have to show me what they look like and how powerful they are! Oh! And Papyrus, you have to show me and Amber your cooking skills some time!" Harry rambled until Undyne cut him off, "Whoa little guy, you want to see Papyrus cook when I was the one who taught him?" Harry looked at Undyne and smiled widely.
"You taught him how to cook?! YOU HAVE TO COME WITH US AND SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT TOO! Wait, you're a fish monster! That means heat is your ultimate weakness! You seem pretty strong and look like you try your best to not let anything get you down and that you try your best to always stay strong for not only yourself and your strength, but for your friends and family!" Harry rambled, beaming with joy. Asgore smiled and chuckled while Toriel smiled before saying, "I remember when my son was that joyful to find out about other monsters during his studies." Toriel smiled, but it was a happy yet sad smile. Rebecca picked up on Toriel's smile before looking down and saying, "I know it is not my place to ask, but.. where is your son?" Toriel sighed before answering, "He is no longer here with us." Thankfully, Harry had all the attention on him and Amber who was smiling and seemed to be talking with May who gladly listened to her words.
Finally, the doors opened one last time. Everyone looked and saw Frisk walking in with clean clothes and holding Flowey. "I'm here," Frisk seemed to say with only a smile. Frisk walked over to the empty seat by Asgore and sat down, setting Flowey on their lap. "My child, it is lovely to see you're doing well," Toriel said, smiling. Rebecca smiled as dinner was placed in front of them before the people who served their food left the room. "Mrs. Dreemurr," Rebecca started but Toriel simply said, "Just Toriel is fine." Rebecca nodded before resuming, "Toriel, I must say, my Sebastian did not tell me that you were an amazing woman who took wonderful care of my little Frisk." Frisk looked at their birth mother, a bit worried about what is going to be said about them being sickly.
"You see, Frisk is a bit weak in health wise. They are strong mentally and their love for their people, family, friends, and bystanders is the strongest of all where they wouldn't be able to hurt a fly. But you must know, I was dreadfully worried for Frisk when they ran away at night during a storm," Rebecca started to tell the tale of what caused Frisk to run off.
"You see, Frisk had learned that their aunt, my older sister, she too had a determined soul, not a common soul I will admit, but common enough. She didn't really like humanity very much, in fact, she had been threaten by our village to be killed if she had killed someone after all of the attempts she had done. She ran away one day according to my mother. My father ran after her and unfortunately, he died during his search for my sister. My mother was heartbroken. After a few months, there was a monster that came to the village. A goat with these black markings on their face, the same ropes as you, Toriel, wear. Horns like king Asgore's. He had my sister's body in his hands, he was walking right for the bed of flowers. I wanted to fight him, but I restrained myself and saw reason and thought why a monster would go through a human village just for flowers. You see, those flowers were my sister's favorite, she planted them before people started hurting her. I was going to walk over and thank him for returning my sister, but scrams rang out and people started attacking him. I couldn't do anything. I was an idiot for not doing anything to protect the monster that had brought back my sister to her favorite flowers. Even through all of the pain, he smiled, carried my sister all the way back to the mountains.
"I was disgusted with the villagers, even my own mother who had thrown a spear right in his back and screamed out such a cruel name towards him, "Murderous monster without a soul". He looked back at her and something in his eyes seemed to be wanting to kill her, but there was another side of that that didn't want to kill anyone. He turned back around and continued walking. I ran after him, but I got lost and found Lucas who was simply a prince. I'll forget that goat monster who allowed me to see my sister one last time." Rebecca paused, taking a sip of her tea before resuming, "Back to what I was saying, Frisk found out that their own aunt also had a determined soul. If I had known that Frisk would have ran away in the dead of night during a storm, I would have been there with them. I would have been there with Chara as well."
Flowey looked at Rebecca, slight shock on his face. It felt like so many years ago thanks to all of the resets, but it wasn't that long ago; it was sixteen or so years ago. "Mom, I'm sorry I scared you and our family.. but that was not the only reason why I went," Frisk answered causing everyone's attention to go to them. "You see, a voice spoke in the back of my head, telling me I need to do something than just sit around. If my aunt really did go underground, maybe I could find something of hers that'd give me a sign on how and why I could do magic. I needed to know about this magic. I needed to know more than what books could have told me. I'm sorry," Frisk whispered. Asgore patted Frisk on the back as Rebecca reached over and rested a hand on Frisk's shoulder before answering, "It's okay. I do not blame you for anything. I'm glad, relieved, that you are okay and you didn't die."
Frisk slightly tensed up at the word "die" for they had died quite a bit. "Frisk, my child, we'll always be here for you," Toriel said making Sebastian slam his hands on the table making everyone jump except for Sara who had their eyes closed. "Of course the weakling gets all of the recondition regardless of how STUPID they are! Mother! You should be upset that Frisk ran off! That Frisk would think about jumping down a hole that could have entered with DEATH. In a pit full of monsters that could KILL!" Sebastian yelled making Flowey glare at him with hatred. Frisk held Flowey close. "Sebastian, let us not be too hasty with this. As the second eldest, I have to agree. Why? What Frisk did was foolish, but what we do know by history books, is that a single human soul is stronger than any number of monsters. Frisk could have killed them all, but chose not to. I will not question their actions, but what I will question is this; Frisk, as the youngest of all of us, why did you want to learn about magic?"
Frisk started to feel slightly faint. "Cut it out! Frisk has the right to want to learn things! They have the right to be who they are!" Harry argued with the two elder siblings. May looked at the monsters and said, "I apologize, this happens a lot when it comes to mom talking about aunt Chara. They get emotional and when they get emotional, they bicker. But Frisk, I'm glad you saved everyone underground. Hopefully, someone can teach you how to control your magic." Alphys looked at Frisk and asked, "Frisk, I know it's sudden because of all of this, but what kind of magic do you have?" Frisk swallowed the lump in their throat and answered, "I don't really know from time to time, most times it's fire, but when I'm under deep stress, the fire tends to die down a bit into this blue flame as far as I know. Once, they turned into a shield of fire to keep me warm which nearly led to the garden burning down."
"Sounds to me that you have fire magic that is heavily connected to your emotions. Toriel can teach you how to control your magic, if your magic is to take shape, you will know when to ask me for my help," Asgore told Frisk as Amber looked at Frisk with a kind smile making Frisk look at her and smile back before looking at Asgore and thanking him before looking back at Amber and saying, "Thanks Am, I'll be sure not to set myself on fire." Thankfully, dinner went smoothly from there, Sara and Sebastian bickering, Rebecca having a friendly conversation with Toriel and Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, and Alphys being asked a million questions from Harry, May and Amber talking to each other quietly. Frisk and Flowey ate before turning in for the night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next few weeks, monsters were allowed to come out of the underground and were escorted to one of the villages near the capital. The village only homed a few remaining humans, but was now the monsters new home. Asgore and Toriel would be in charge of the village, not only as king or queen(though Toriel denies the title), but as friends who know how to run things. They are partners and have their own homes, a couple of blocks away from each other. During this time, Asgore and Toriel have been giving Frisk lessons about fire magic, mostly Toriel while Asgore and Rebecca converse about the safety of monsters and their new home.
King Asgore and Toriel got to meet Lucas who is a kind man in his own way, he is a bit harsh, but he's more of a caring man. Lucas, Rebecca, Toriel, and Asgore agreed to co-parent Frisk. Frisk has been training well with magic even though they're thirteen years old. "Good work my child," Toriel cheered for Frisk who had managed to work a fireball magic attack. "I did it! I just need to stop setting fire around me whenever I get startled," Frisk said, smiling. Flowey was watching from the sidelines with Harry and Amber who wanted to spend time with Toriel and Frisk as well. "So goat monsters can do fire attack?" Harry asked making Flowey sigh before answering,
"Yes, goat monsters can do fire attack, skeleton monsters can do bone attacks because why not, fish monsters like Undyne are another story, I don't understand them, but Undyne has spear attacks. Monsters can choose to have a weapon, for Asgore, he chooses to have a trident, it's based around their magic mostly, for him, the trident shows his power as a ruler, but also the heavy burden it has. Undyne is about protecting those who need protecting, and justifying the guilty, but it also shows that they will do everything in their power which would be their downfall as well."
"So if Frisk had a weapon, what would it be?" Flowey told them he didn't know, but something strange happened. Amber spoke up, "I bet Frisk's weapon would be a shield or a sword". Flowey looked at Amber and asked, "You know how to talk?" Amber looked down and nodded, but Flowey didn't understand why she never did before. "Amber hardly ever talks, for as long as I can remember. In fact, Amber said that she's always spoke like this, she was always too shy to learn how to properly speak and when it comes to sign language, she speaks using it and she's comfortable with it," Harry explained it. Before Flowey could say anything remotely rude, Sans appeared and said, "Heya." Flowey yelped and fell over onto the ground making Amber look at Sans and wave while Harry picked Flowey back up.
"Hi Mr. Sans, you're here to take Frisk, Amber, and I to get lunch, right?" Harry asked as Sans nodded. "Sans!" Frisk called out before running over, Sans looked at them and smiled while greeting them. "Heya kiddo, you ready to head out for lunch?" Frisk nodded as Harry and Amber stood up while Toriel walked over and took Flowey. "Thank you for taking the children out for lunch. Asgore and I have important matters to attend to with the village and with Frisk's parents," Toriel told Sans as he smiled with his eyes closed. Toriel looked at the children and said, "Okay my dear children, please be good while you're Sans. And if anything happens, you have my cell phone number. Frisk, take care, my child." Frisk nodded as they, Amber, and Harry held onto Sans before they got teleported. "Come Flowey, we must go to the meeting now," Toriel told Flowey before leaving the backyard to go through the small house that looked like her old home in the Ruins.
Sans teleported to Grillby's and said, "Ta-da, we're here," Sans said as Amber and Harry went inside while Frisk entered along side Sans. "Hey Sansy," one of the monsters' greeted and Sans did his classic smile, but Frisk made a face before walking over to their siblings who were sitting at a table in the corner. Frisk sat next to Harry while Sans walked up and asked, "Alright, so do ya want the burg or the fires?" Amber looked at Harry and Frisk. Frisk nodded while Harry grinned. "Burgers!" "Fries!" "Combo!" All three of them spoke, grinning like dorks. "Geez, I'm not made of money, but I can always put it on my tab," Sans joked before walking over to the bar to place the order. "So Frisk, since your training with Ms. Toriel is going smoothly, do you think you could get Toriel to teach me about all monsters and their magic?" Harry asked as Frisk thought about it before saying, "I can try, but it's only going to be when she's able to. But then again, she and mom have been looking into starting a school for monsters and humans. No doubt that you'll be able to join, you show great passion on wanting to learn!"
Harry laughed and smiled brightly while Frisk smiled back at their brother before looking at Amber. "Amber, I know you'd like to understand how monster souls work as well with their food and that it recovers more health than plain old human food does. Along with how reproduction works for them." Amber smiled, glad that her sibling still remembers everything about them. "I'll be attending school as well. Then of course, there is our SOULS. Showing them is hard, but can be shown easily when in a fight as far as I know. However, with monsters, their soul IS them. They're built off of love and compassion."
This was the start of something wonderful. The monsters were safe, both of Frisk's family accepted them, Sebastian and Sara were still adjusting, Flowey was Flowey, Toriel and Asgore were working together, the humans were adjusting again. Everyone is happy... all except Frisk who is afraid of the human in the mirror. Their red ruby eyes, their smile, their light brown hair, their green sweater with the yellow stripe across the chest. Frisk was afraid of Chara coming back and taking over one last time and purging the world. Frisk doesn't want to lose this timeline. Frisk doesn't know those people to be honest, this is another timeline that Frisk was just randomly thrown into. This was a timeline Frisk doesn't want to lose, Frisk wants to learn more about magic and want to be able to see how their "siblings" are.
Hopefully Chara does not come by any time soon and resets everything.
