Chapter 11~Beautiful Memories
Fairy Tail 16 years ago
It was a rainy night, and Lucy, Gray, and Erza were walking home from a job.
"Well, that was a waste of time," Gray complained as the group walked through the rain. "We were gone for a week and didn't find a single thing. Why do we even bother anymore?"
Lucy smacked Gray across the head, "What would you do if it was Juvia who went missing instead of Natsu?" Lucy hissed. "I can tell you that you would be smashing mountains with your bare hands until you found her!"
"Even so Gray, Natsu is our comrade. We will continue to look for him." Erza added. "Don't you want to find Natsu?"
"Of course I do, but I have other things to take care of first. Natsu was my best friend, but I'm spending more time looking for him than I am with my own son." Gray said, "Storms already two, but I feel like I've barely seen him grow up. I'm not sure how much longer I can stay away from him."
The group kept walking when they heard a strange noise coming from a few feet away. "Do you guys hear that?" Lucy asked. "It sounds like a cry."
"Let's go check it out," Gray said as they ran to where the sound is, Erza lagging behind. "Come on Erza, pick up the pace!"
"When you're eight months pregnant then we'll talk," Erza said panting. "Oh, this kid is gonna be the death of me I can already tell."
Lucy came back and put a hand on Erza's back. "You know you didn't have to come. You should rest."
"A little pregnancy isn't going to take me down so easily. Come on. The noise came from down here." The group kept onward but went slower for Erza.
They arrived at the source of the sound but didn't see anything. When Lucy heard the sound again, She looked down and found a box with two crying infants. "GRAY! ERZA! COME HERE!" Lucy yelled as she bent down to take a look at the infants. There was a small piece of paper peeking out from their blanket. Once the babies saw Lucy, They stopped crying and smiled at her.
Gray and Erza made their way to Lucy and they gasped when they saw what Lucy found. "Check the area. Look for the parents!" Erza ordered.
"Hold on, Whoever left them here left a note. Let's read that first before we make any decisions." Lucy took out the note and unfolded it. The paper was soaked from the rain but she could still make out the reading.
"Whoever finds this, Neither I nor my husband has enough money to take care of these beautiful twins. I trust whoever finds them will take good care of them. Their names are Nash and Luna, and they're filled with so much love and compassion for all the world. Their birthday is October 17. If you're reading this, I have only this to ask. Please raise my children as your own and give them a loving home. They truly deserve it. The letter ends there." Lucy said. She bent down again to take a look at the babies. They giggled when they saw her.
"What are you going to do?" Gray asked. Lucy picked up the two children in her arms.
"I'm going to raise them. You have Storm, Erza is pregnant with Rieki, I want to have children to call my own." Lucy said. She looked back down at the smiling twins. "Mama's here." She whispered quietly.
"Congratulations Lucy. You'll be a great mother to these two." Gray said. Luna grabbed a lock of Lucy's hair and smiled.
5 years later
"Luna!! Give it back!" Nash yelled as he chased his twin sister around the house! "Give me back papa's scarf!!!"
"I want to play with it too!" Luna yelled running around their house. The two ran around until Luna ran into a table, knocking over Lucy's glass of water.
"Luna! You got my scarf all wet!" Nash complained.
"Luna! Why were you running around the house with Nash's scarf? You know how much it means to him." Lucy asked wringing out the scarf.
"I just thought if I wore it, I would feel closer to papa. Aunt Erza said he wore this all the time and that it was his favorite thing ever." Lucy looked down at her daughter.
"Mama, All our friends have a papa. Why don't we?" Nash asked. Lucy took a step back as all the memories came flying back. Horrible, Horrible memories that she desperately wishes she could forget. "Mama, are you okay?"
"Yes, Nash. I'm just fine." Lucy said smiling at her son. "Papa went missing a few years before I found you two. Mama hasn't seen papa in a very long time."
"We'll help you find him!" The twins said without hesitation. "If it will make you happy mama, then we'll help you find papa!" Lucy looked at her kids, her five-year-old kids, and started crying. "Did we say something wrong, mama?"
"No," Lucy wiped away a tear rolling down her face. "I just want to hug the life out of you!" Lucy grabbed her twins and hugged them. "I love you two little monkeys."
"We love you too mama!"
"Come on. Let's go to the guild." Lucy said. The twins cheered and jumped up and down. "Put your coats on."
6 years later
"Luna! Nash! Come on we're going to Grays! Hurry and get dressed!" Lucy yelled to her now eleven-year-old children.
"We're coming We're coming!" Nash and Luna called out. It was snowing out outside so Luna was wearing a light blue jacket with a pastel pink scarf and hat that was slightly lighter than her hair. Nash was wearing a brown jacket and his normal scarf.
The Dragneels walked in the snow until they made it to Grays house were Storm was waiting outside. "Luna!" Storm called out, but when he saw Luna, his face got really red as well as Luna's. "I mean, uh, It's n-nice to see you."
"Y-you too. I was uh, excited too, uh, uh," Luna stuttered. Both of them were blushing insanely.
"She was excited to come here. It was all she could talk about." Lucy finished. The blush on both Luna and Storms faces spread even more than it already was. "Come on. It's cold outside. Let's go inside." The inside of the Fullbuster house was covered head to toe in blue and white balloons and confetti.
"Hey Lucy, Luna, and Nash! Great to see ya!" Gray said. Gray was the twins Godfather and they were pretty much best friends. Gray hugged Lucy and Luna and fist-bumped Nash.
"Hey Gray! Where's the birthday boy?!" Lucy asked.
"And birthday GIRL! God! Rin gets all the attention around here! I like being spoiled too!" Sylvia complained, popping out of nowhere.
"We love you too Syl," Luna said hugging the firey bluenette. "I do at least."
"LUUUUUNNNNAAAA!" A certain blonde yelled as she pummeled the young girl. "Where've you been!! It's like you fell off the map!"
"NOVA! Sorry! Mom's been on a mission and we're still not allowed to go to the Guild alone!" Luna and Nova glared at Lucy.
"Not until you're twelve." Lucy said.
"Anyway, now that the gangs all here, let's go have fun!" Nova grabbed Lunas' hand and dragged her to where their group of friends was hanging out.
"Luna! Where've you been?!" Rieki asked, giving Luna a hug.
"I WAS TOO GUYS!! AND I THOUGHT I WAS RIEKIS' BEST FRIEND!!!" Nash yelled, fed up of all the attention Luna was getting. Rin and Rieki tackled Nash simultaneously. "Alright Alright!"
"We are best friends you hot head! I'm friends with your sister too, though!" Rieki said smacking Nash over the head.
"Why are you on top of me Rin?"
"What?! I need something to do!" Rin yelled. "Syl was getting on my nerves anyway."
The rest of the day was filled with laughter and fun. Luna and Nash missed this since they had been stuck at their house for a few days.
Present day
Lucy closed her photo book and handed it to her husband. "What's this?" Natsu asked.
"Well, when we weren't looking for you, I took as many pictures of the kids as I could and put them all in here. I made this for you, it might help you catch up on what you missed." Lucy said back. Natsu rubbed his hand across the brown leather cover. It was ripped and faded. Natsu wrapped his arms around his wife.
"You're amazing." He said. The couple stayed there until Storm and Nash crashed through the door.
"Oh come on I just got that thing fixed. What happened now?" Lucy complained.
"Something happened to Luna! We need to get to the hospital!" Nash yelled and Natsu and Lucy ran out, leaving the photo book open, laying on the floor.
