Max's pov

When i walked in, the first thing i noticed was the bong in kai's hand. "What the fuck??!!" Kai whinced, going to shove it back into her bag. "No. No. No you dont. Give it to me." I quickly walked over to her, holding out my hand. "Now." She shakily placed the item in my hand, allowing me to look inside it. "It still has weed in it, for fucks sake" i took it into the bathroom and started to wash it, scrubbkng the fuck out of it before throwing it out the window. "That was fucking disgusting kai! Why are you doing weed! You know i hate it!" "Life isn't all about you max!  You werent supposed to know either!" She argued. "It can kill you!!!"

"If i do it for my entire life, well then yes. It can. But, its only been a few months..." she started to curl up againat herself, staring off into the distance. I sighed and leant down "baby....whats wrong?"

"Nothing, i just....somethings in the past are bothering me again" i sighed and pulled her into my arms "is it your mum?" She nodded and rubbed her eyes. "Uh....yeah, i guess" i kissed her cheek "things will get better"

Kai's pov

Max had refused to leave me alone, thinking i would do something stupid. Of course i would, everything i do is stupid. Apart from max...but i basically spread my curse to her so i guess that was pretty stupid too.

Sometimes i wonder if the only reason she stays with me is because of pity, she knows the shit thats happned in the past, and she is gradually becoming more distant....or is it me? God, im such a fuck up so it must be me...

So for the rest of the day, max dragged me to classes. making sure i sat with her, sometimes allowing ashley near. Max knew something about ashley that i obviously didn't, and it was beginning to worry me.

I was now back in the coffee shop with her, making dinner plans. "How about take out?" She suggested. I whined "that requires effort though" she giggled "how about dirt then?" "That required effort too" we both giggled.

"No, baby, seriously. Dinner, what are we gonna have."

"Air sounds pretty good!" She gave me a stern look "alright fine, um..."

"How about chinease?"

"Ewww" max and i said in unsion. "Maccas then?" I looked at max, she nodded. "Cool!"
