ep. 3.4

"Well, I think we're good." Lucy declared, placing her hands on her hips as soon as they'd unloaded the last box both of them had. The cabinet's fixed, shared by two people, side-by-side.

"No, we aren't." Levy ran her hand on her face in disappointment, groaning in the process.

"What do you mean? Do you see any new boxes in here?"

"We forgot our last roommate, Erza. Now that I think about it, her name's quite different." It was interesting. Scarlet. A color for a last name. She pondered about the meaning behind that.

"You think she'd be cool with the lower half of the cabinet?"

Levy shrugs, taking into account what she might look like. Her style of clothing. Sexuality. Family background. Course she's enrolled in. Star sign. "We haven't even met her yet."

"Wow, have you realized we never came out of this room?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Sooo, it's time to get out there and have dinner. Meet cute guys—" Lucy blinked, having a gut feeling she's forgotten something about her new friend. "Right, Jet. Tons for me, then." Smooth, real smooth, Heartfilia.

"Alright," Levy stood up from the beanie chair she brought to this semester and was trying to stand up but ended falling back down. "Sorry, wait," she tried standing up again, "I can't. And my butt feels numb."

"Let me help you up." Lucy pulled both of Levy's arms until she got up on her feet. Her friend was wobbling like a drunk person left in the streets to fend for herself, it was almost hilarious. "Let's go get our wallets and stroll around campus!" she says enthusiastically, raising an arm in the air.

At first, it looked scary for the both of them, seeing how dark it had gotten on campus, realizing just now how big the university really is as they walked through the halls, down the stairs, looking at directories to get to the food court. Once they've finally gotten there, Lucy was surprised to see a lot of other students were up, chatting, making noise inside the food court.

"Whoa. There's a lot of cuties around. Nice." Lucy whispers to herself as she got a tray for the food she's choosing, so did Levy.

"I don't see my boyfriend around. Hm. Maybe he's sleeping already. . ?" Levy pulled out her phone and started typing for her boyfriend. "I really want to see him though."

"Aw, isn't that sweet?" Lucy couldn't be bothered at the moment, seeing as she still hadn't seen any cute guys up close with a free table beside them so she could walk up and talk to them while eating dinner.

"Oh! He says he's with his buddy, Droy." Levy smirks, "want me to introduce you to him?"

"Uh, sure, but is he cute?"

"He likes gardening. Is pursuing Environmental Science." Levy shrugs, waiting for Lucy's call.

"I guess I could try." She sounded unsure. Of course it made her nervous to meet someone whose face she hasn't seen before. "I don't know what we could talk about. . ."

"He's a libra." Levy whispers, giggling under her breath, "so you'll get along well."

But Lucy knew what Libra men were like in her perspective: fake.

"Sure."

Meanwhile, Natsu was trying to get his roomies to get off their phones to go get dinner with them. Unfortunately, they hadn't really looked up from their gadgets since they got there. Finally, he gave up, pulling out of the room to get to the food court himself.

"Oh! I could call Gray and ask him." Natsu realized, typing onto his phone.

NATSU

A couple of minutes had passed and no response was made in return. He grew anxious on his part. "Maybe he's sleepin' already. Nah, it couldn't be. This is the first night. It's college! We should be havin' fun. Guess people are just different."

It's okay,  Natsu tried convincing himself as he was going to eat dinner tonight without having anyone on his side. Oh, who is he kidding? He prefers eating with other people, it's more fun. Getting to know and gaining friends. Okay, Natsu went in with a swoop of the door, facing reality. If he's in need to find people he's going to get along with in his years as a college student, he'd need to start somewhere. And that's the food court.

Lucy’s never regretted anything most in her life. Tonight, that would be sitting in the table with Levy, her boyfriend Jet and the so-called gardener of their little group, Droy, who cannot take a hint she wasn't interested in him. At all. She's done nothing but seem like a bitch who does as she pleases, ignoring Droy's little tattling.

"I like sunflowers best. Do you?"

This was a first; asking her about her opinion, that is. “I guess tulips would be my pick.” She shouldn’t have answered that. Droy took a second wind and continued on with his boring journey on how he had come to love gardening. All about himself. Nothing but his interests.

Lucy did notice the new guy entering the food court. A guy with salmon hair, hesitant on which tray he should pick to carry for his lunch. He was looking around, all anxious and fidgetty. The poor thing must have no friends. In her perspective (and she found this game fun), she was trying to guess his zodiac sign based from his actions and appearance alone.

Straight posture, gentle, greets almost everyone who comes his way, confident and has a rather friendly atmosphere. Is he a Libra? No, wait, maybe Cancer?

The man dropped the fork to the ground, his shoulders shaking from embarrassment. Maybe he's an Aries?

..cy? Luuucy? Lucy!” she snapped out of her thoughts and saw that Levy was trying to get her attention for a while now. “Good. Uh, I was just going to ask how you two are getting along well.”

“I think we have the chemistry.”

Of course, before the blonde could answer, Droy raced her to it, therefore ultimately losing her appetite, standing up with her tray in arms. “If you'll excuse me, I’m going to refill my tray.”

Finally. She was quite thankful to have escaped from tragedy. Instead, made her way to the new guy's way, where he was merely standing in the middle of the food court, searching for a table to sit in. Grabbing an apple from the display, Lucy grabbed him softly by the shoulder, making him turn to face her and said, “Are you lost?”

“I'm sorry?”

“I said, are you lost?” Lucy was playing him. No harm. No dangerous vibe. “Because I can help you.”

“I'm not sure what you're on, but I'm fine.” He was walking away from the opportunity she was about to lay on him—an opportunity to sit with them and meet friends he was obviously trying to search for. He's walked away and Lucy didn't follow after him and then went straight back to her room where she could be alone. Reflect on what had just happened earlier.

Stupidest social event ever.
