"Right here is the cafeteria. Best food in all of Vale!" Ruby said showing off the room. Arms spread open in a obtuse angle. "Follow me and I'll show you the ballroom where you will be staying tonight." While walking there Ruby talks to Lily. "So, how do you and Derrick know each other?" She asks. "We met each other in the White Fang. Been close since then. He believed in the new leadership. He thought it as finally making humans feel the pain he felt. He was frustrated with the non-violent methods, said it was getting us nowhere. I left soon after. Reunited years later and here we are. He still hasn't shaken off his 'temper' with humans. But I'm always here to give him a wack on the head when he needs one." Lily cheerfully said with a smile while motioning a swing. "Hey guys!" Inaba called out looking out a window, "There's a crowd outside."

Meanwhile, outside a crowd of students has gathered to watch Derrick and Yang fight. He pulls out his duel kamas and gets into a stance. "Just so you know. I don't hold back for girls!" Yang just smiles and cocks Ember Celica. "That's cool. I don't either!" She jumps at him with an overhead punch, but Derrick barley dodges it with a backflip. She throws an upper cut with her other arm quickly. This time it hits him. He goes in the air as she jumps up to do a combo, but Derrick transform one of his kamas into it's bayoneted pistol form and aims at her face with a smirk.

He pulls the trigger, causing Yang to fly back to the ground hard. Derrick transform his other kama to gun mode and starts raining hellfire onto Yang. She blocks his shots with Ember Celica. It wasn't until Derrick got closer he flips over and drops kicks Yang with the might of gravity helping him. He back flips off of Yang causing her to stumble back. He quickly transforms his weapon back into melee mode and take the opportunity to attack staggering Yang. He does a series of slashing attacks. Right swipe, over head swipe, spin around and slashed with both kamas.

He finishes it by hooking her neck and pull her head in for a knee as he pulls the trigger at the same time. Causing her body to flip into the air. Derrick turns his kamas back to gun mode only to hear clicks as he pulled the trigger on both pistols. Yang hits the ground hard, she looks up to see a single strand of her hair fall in front of her. She quickly gets up and smashes her two fists together, eyes now glowing red.

Meanwhile, Ruby, Lily, Inaba, and Aegis. Are running towards the crowd. "Please don't let this be Derrick's fault!" Lily says to herself. Once there the gang pushes their way to the front only to see Yang beating up Derrick with a series of rapid and hard hitting combos. "Oh no! Derrick this is our first day!" Lily groans in frustration. "KICK HIS BUTT YANG!!! GRAB HIS WOLF TAIL AND TWIST IT!!!" Ruby shouted encouraging her big sister. Inaba giggles as she calls in a drone to record the fight.

Yang punches Derrick ribs, then left hooks his face, right uppercut his chin, grabs his collar and punches him right in the nose with her left.  Knocking off his sunglasses. She keeps punching him until Derrick hooks the arm grabbing him with both kamas and throws Yang away from him. His nose now broken, he drops his kamas and grabs his nose. Activates his aura and snaps it back in place while grunting in pain. It takes him to stage one of his semblance. He grabs his kamas and charges at Yang as she does the same.

They both start trading blows at one another, eyes glowing, neither of them slowing down with their hits. She then switches her target from his upper body to his legs. He falls forward, but quickly hooks her leg and pulls her down. Derrick quickly jumps in the air with both kamas high up for an overhead attack, but Yang fires both both Ember Celica at him. He falls to his back. Yang goes for the same move he did while she was in the ground. Derrick quickly rolls out the way, causing Yang to punch the concrete ground instead. Leaving a crater.

He gets back up, but Yang was quick to follow up her attack. Derrick was quicker to block it. Yang wails on him nonstop. His arms starting to bruise. He legs sweeps her, but Yang spins her body towards him and punches downward as Derrick was propping himself back up. His head slams down to the hard floor, leaving another crater. Yang grabs his collar, lifts him back up, and starts pouching his stomach repeatedly with her other arm. Derrick drops his kammas and grabs her arm. His tight grip squeezes Ember Celica. Slightly denting it. She tries to pull it away. But Derrick's new found strength is too strong. She also notices his body is no longer thin. "When did you get meat on your bones?" She asked confused.

Yang looks up at his face. The veins around Derrick's eyes visible as if they're about to burst along with their color being flushed with a deep black. "What's with his eyes?" Inaba asked confused as she watches the fight from her wristband. "What?!" Lily cries out in panic. She manhandles Inaba's arm and looks the screen as Inaba's drone records the fight. She lets go and quickly runs towards the two fighters. But before she could do anything, both Yang and Derrick are lifted up in the air and separated with a purple aura glowing around them. The crowd's attention is turned to Professor Goodwitch. Despite her stone face, her eyes show her fury. In a stern voice she orders, "Headmaster's office. Now."

Now Derrick and Yang are sitting in front of Professor Ozpin. An awkward silence radiating in the room. He takes a loud sip of his coffee. "Mr. Miller, it's your first day here and you have gotten into a fight." He says in his usual calm voice. "She started it!" Derrick blurted out without any hesitation. "WHAT!" Yang shouted in surprise, "You intently bump into me and Weiss!"

"Schnee and I." Derrick corrected in a condescending tone. "Her name is Weiss!" She shouted, eyes glowing red. "Enough! Both of you." Ozpin commanded. He takes another sip of his coffee. "Ms. Xio Long. You been a student here in Beacon for awhile so I trust you. Aside from the cafeteria incident and incident with the cats you did with your sister. Your team has had a clean record here so far." Yang cross her arms and gives Derrick a smug look, basking in her victory.

"But..." Her arms drop and smile quickly replaced with a surprised look followed by a worried one. "As a senior student in Beacon. You should've de-escalated the situation. It was good that you defended your friend. But as a huntress in training. You must show restraint and try to use violence as a last resort." Yang pouts as Derrick shoots a smirk at her. "Mr. Miller..."

"Ah shit." He mumbles under his breath. "Assuming you don't want your background revealed in front of a stranger. I'll cut it to here. I understand you have a lot of anger. But you must turn that anger into a fire that burns to bring justice. You must be the better person. As hunters we help all who needs it. We have no room for discrimination. Especially if you have to work with a human hunter. You have a second chance, don't throw it away over petty fights. Try talking to Ms. Belladonna, I'm positive you can relate to her."
After the lecture both were let go.

The elevator down was quiet and tense. The doors open to see a fuming Lily. Eyes wide open and teeth gritting. "Derrick!!!!" She shouted as she stomps her way to him. "She started it!" Derrick exclaimed as he pointed at Yang. Lily yanks on his wolf ear, pulls him to her face, and chews him out. "A fight! A fight! On the first day?! We haven't even formed teams yet and you got into a fight! Are you trying to be the fastest student to get expelled from Beacon?!"

"Ow! Ow! Easy on the ears!" Derrick pleaded. She pulls on it harder. "What's wrong, you able to take a beating from her! A little ear rub won't hurt ya!" She then drags him to Yang. "What do you have to say?" She asked. "She bumped into me!" Derrick's claims were answered with a harder yank on his wolf ear. "Ah! Ah! Ah! Okay! Okay! I'm sorry for picking a fight with you!"
"Aaannnddd???" Lily said tugging harder.
"I'm also sorry for bumping into you and Schnee! It was very rude of me to do that!" This whole time Yang was trying not to laugh.

Lily let's him go as he starts to rub his wolf ear. "I apologize for my friend's behavior. He has a bad history with humans and the Schnee Dust Company. He'll make it up to you!" Lily said while bowing down. "I will?" Derrick's question was met with a swift kick to his leg. "I mean I will!" He said rubbing it. Yang just chuckles at this. "Okay, Derrick is it? I know a nightclub. Drinks on you. Whenever we have time off"

She offers him her hand. He just stares at it, sunglasses reflect off it. Lily nudges him and gives him a death stare. He takes her hand with hesitation and shakes it. Yang squeezes it hard, Derrick responded by squeezing back. It then quickly turns into a game of chicken to see who gives in first. Lily intervenes, "Well, then. It's a date! Can you show us where the ballroom is?" She ask with a bright smile.

They are escorted to ballroom to see the other new students setting up their sleeping bags. Yang basks in the view of the new young men. Especially Aegis. He is writing a letter. "Writing letters to friends? My sister does that too." Yang says. Aegis give her a friendly smile, "I'm writing to my parents. My dad is fireman and my mom is paramedic. They are the ones that inspired me to be a pacifist."

"Pacifism runs in the family?" She asks squatting down to his level, "No, just me. I wanted to prove that Faunus aren't dangerous. And with the White Fang and grimm. I figured Remnant has enough violence going on. It's why I use a shield. To protect people instead of causing harm. It's why I work hard to have the way my body is now. If I'm not gonna fight, I'm going to have my body be able to perform strenuous task that involve helping people. Be it tanking hits for others, carrying injured, or lifting objects."

"And what a body you have." Yang flirts, "May I?" She asks, raising an eyebrow with a smile. Aegis gets flustered by her complement and request, "Uhh, yeah go a-ahead!" He stammers. He braces his abs and waits for her to touch. Yang leans forward and picks up his shield. "Oh..." He mutters embarrassingly. She gets a feel of the weight and nods. She positions herself as if she was about to block a hit.

"Think you can take a hit from me?" She challenges as she hands his shield back to him, Aegis smiles. He gets into a defensive stance, feet firmly dug into the ground, shield in front. Yang gets into a fighting stance, her wide grin radiating excitement. She nods at him, he nods back. She then activates her semblance, cocks Ember Celica, and punches with her rear fist. Aegis stance stays strong as he doesn't move an inch as his body glows. "Whew!" Yang says as she shakes off the sting of punching his shield. All the new students in the ballroom turn their heads to see the commotion.

"There was a mosquito on his shield!" Yang explained she then turns back to Aegis. "What was that glow?" Aegis gently puts down his shield. "That was my semblance. See what it does is-"
"What it does is keep people awake!" Derrick interrupted. "He's right, I glad we are making friends, but we need to sleep." Chimed in Lily.

"Well, then. Can't wait for my team to meet yours. Best of luck! I'm sure you'll the G.O.A.T of your team!" She gives a wide grin as she playfully points at him. "For the love of god and Oreos go to bed!" Derrick exclaimed.

The ballroom soon goes quiet. Crickets chirping, the bright shattered moon shining through the window as the soon to be official students of Beacon Academy sleep soundly. Until the entire room awoken by screaming. Everyone quickly wakes up. Aegis grabs his shield and instantly looks for the source of distress, while Inaba shoots up and looks around confused. It was Derrick. He flails around, screaming bloody murder. Lily who was sleeping next to him, groggily gets up having she dealt with this before. She gets up walks over to Derrick, gets on her knees behinds his head and gently place her hands on his head. Her eyes glows green as she activates her semblance. Derrick's sporadic movements stop as his voice lowers to rapid breathing, then to calm breathing, then finally sleep. Lily's eyes stop glowing and addresses what happened, "He tends to get night terrors. Don't worry, what I did just now. He'll be sleeping fine for the rest for the night. I'm sorry that he woke all of you up." Everyone goes back to bed. If the fight with Yang didn't get the students of Beacon attention towards Derrick. Tonight just did.

Morning comes, Lily gets up to see Derrick on his scroll and already dressed. "You're up early." She says, Derrick just keeps looking at his scroll until he finishes his text. "Yeah I woke up early and couldn't go back to bed. I just ended up texting RedHood15. Sleep well?" Derrick asks. "Yeah I did." She answers. "Did I uhhhh.... You know. Wake anyone up?" He asks, visibly uncomfortable. "Yes, you did. But I did my thing fast." She answered.

They then head to the cliffs for initiation. Professor Ozpin gives his usual speech. As soon as the first tile launches a student, Inaba panics, "Oh shoot!" She starts pressing buttons on her wristband, she is soon launched herself as she screams. Ozpin finishes his speech. Aegis is then launched, "Question?" Derrick says while raising his hand. Lily is then launched. "No, you will not have parachutes, you will be using your own landing strategy." Professor Ozpin answers. "Aw shi-" Derrick is then launched into the Emerald Forest.

As Inaba's tiny body soars through the sky she frantically pushing buttons in her wristband. "Crap, crap, crap! Pleasemakeitintime!!!!" She panics. At distance approaches a glider. Inaba smiles as she goes into her jacket and pulls out a grapple gun. She aims at her glider and fires. An audible mechanical thunk is heard as she pulls herself to it. She hops on top of her glider and gains control. She puts on her goggles and hovers to scout the forest.

Aegis keeps his body straight as he flies high in the air, it wasn't until he starts losing his momentum he prepares to land. He grabs his shield and places it beneath his feet. He squats down and activates his semblance. He crashes through multiple tree branches, his shield taking most of hits. He then hits the ground and slides across the grass making a giant pile of dirt. He hops off his shield and picks it up.

Lily pulls out her batons, activates the ice dust crystals and slams them together. A bridge made of ice is the form as she slides down it and sticks the landing.

Derrick, activates stage one of his semblance, and doesn't even try to land. He hits multiple branches hard on his way down. A cuss word escaping his mouth with each hit. Loud cracks being heard, unsure if it's Derrick's bones or the branches breaking. Gravity slams him down the grass. "Ahhhhhhh, FUCK!!!" He shouted. He looks at his body to see the damage. His right ankle is dislocated, his left hand is twisted palm facing outwards, along with his fingers all broken and facing different directions, and a piece of a branch lodged in his forearm.

"Should've went stage 2." He groans to himself.  He grabs the palm of his left hand, using his semblance's healing factor, he quickly twists it back in place. Derrick screams in pain for a couple seconds. After collecting himself, he moves on to his fingers. He grabs a nearby stick and bites on to it. He then grabs all of his fingers, using his boosted strength, straightens them all out at once. Cracks and pops being heard. He opens and shuts his left hand multiple times, working fine, but still has a slight pain.

Now that both hands are working, he moves to right ankle. He spits out tone branch and takes a deep breath, and relocates it. His screams echo throughout the forest. He lays down, taking deep breaths. He looks at his forearm and simply yanks out the tree branch without a second thought. He gets back up and fishes into his jacket for cigarettes. Only to find a hole where he keeps them. He drops his arm as he looks through it in disappointment. He tries for his flask, he feels it and pulls it out in excitement. Only to see its dented and leaking. He opens it and see if there is still any liquor left. To his disappointment, there was none. With a deep sigh he says to himself, "Great..."
