Aether, Paimon and Amber continue to walk back to Mondstadt. When they got there, they were in front of the bridge that crosses over to it.

"I can't believe she only appears now to see you." Paimon said with an angry tone. "After all of these months I can't believe she chose now to get you."

"Paimon." Aether try to speak.

"She could've gotten you months ago but no. She just watches you as you suffer alone."

"Paimon-"

"Not now Aether. I think Paimon needs to vent for a bit." Amber turns to him. "Besides, I would be angry if my own family didn't come and try to find me."

"Can you guys at least let me talk to her and figure this whole thing out?" Aether look at Amber.

"We will..." Amber looks ahead. Still though, why now?

Aether looks down on the ground. "I don't know." he then started to remember what has happened for the last 2 months.

*2 Months Ago*

Under a tree, with a campfire, Aether just sat there, watching the fire. It's been a week since he awakened after his fight with the unknown goddess. With him being unable to use his powers, he felt helpless.

All alone with no one to be there by his side. A sad look on his eyes after a week, unable to think of anything... But one thing.

"... Lumine... Where are you?"

It starts with the camera looking up in the sky before slowly dropping to down as it speeds up to show Aether and Paimon on top of a cliff they were on, as they look at the horizon. The camera slowly turns to the sky revealing the title.

The Next Scene shows Aether and Paimon walking on a road, with Aether looking up at the sky.

The next scene shows Amber standing on top of the tower as she watches the people in Mondstadt. Next scene shows Xiangling sitting down outside of the city as she stretches out her arms. The Next scene shows Venti playing his harp on top of the Anemo Archon Statue.

The next scene shows Diluc and Kaeya were in the Angel's Share, as the next scene shows Jean and Lisa in the Grand Master's Office of the Knights of Favonius Headquarters. The Next scene shows Dvalin roaring as it charges, with Aether turning back to it in shock as Dvalin flies above him. The next scene shows Signora as she swung her arm with a sinister smile, before soldiers of Fatui and Abyss Creatures appear.

The next scene shows Aether's sword glowing before he charges in and swings his sword to cause a wind blade, Amber follows it by firing a fire arrow at Fatui Soldiers. The next scene shows Xiangling throwing a Pyronado with Jean blowing a gust of wind and Lisa following it with a thunder attack. The next scene shows Kaeya freezing a few Abyss Creatures with Diluc finishing them off with his Dawn attack.

The next scene shows Venti shooting an Arrow towards Dvalin, however Signora reflects it. Jean then attacks her but she manages to dodge each of her attacks. Diluc swings in as well, but Signora disappears before Diluc can strike.

The Next scene shows Lumine charging down at them as she strikes down with her sword blowing them away. She then swings with her sword to clear the smoke that came.

[KIMI YO AOI SENRITSU NI NA-REEEEEEEE! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH! *Instrumental*]

The next scene shows Aether, Amber and Xiangling charging in with Paimon behind them. Aether jumps up and then swings his sword to cause a Gust Surge as it charges to Dvalin. The last scene shows Aether on top of a hill as he stares from a distance.

The next day, Aether walks on the road in front of him. He didn't have any plans other than getting food supplies. The problem though, he doesn't have that much mora. He resorts to eating fruits and trying his best to catch a fish. However, any catch he gets leads the fish to get away most of the time, and any fruits he finds were only 1 or 2 of them.

He sighs. He couldn't bear the loneliest anymore. Lumine couldn't be found anywhere. Sure it has been 8 days but to him, it feels like an eternity. As he continued to walk, he started to slow down a bit. He walked outside of the road to the sides. He sat down as he leaned back on a large rock wall. He looks up, feeling hopeless.

"Lumine, where are you?" he asks. "Please just come back. I can't take this anymore."

After a short break, he stands up. "Well, no use sitting here."

Aether began to walk again back to the road.

"​​Hey, you! Stop right there!" Aether heard someone behind him. He turns around and notices Amber was running before jumping off the small cliff and in front of Aether.

This caught Aether off guard. "May the Anemo God protect you, stranger! I am Amber, Outrider for the Knights of Favonius." Amber swung her arms as if it was some way of saluting to someone.

Aether was shocked, he didn't know what to say.

"You don't look like a citizen of Mondstadt. Explain yourselves!"

"Oh... Well... I'm not looking for trouble. Just wandering around."

"That's what all the troublemakers say." Amber glares at him.

Aether sighs and shakes his head. "Look, I really don't want to cause any trouble." Aether turns around and walks away, only for Amber to block his way by standing in front of him.

"I don't know who you are, but I do know I can't trust you yet." she crosses her arms. "You may be a wanderer, but there's no way you'll get away that easily. State your name."

"... Aether."

"Well, Aether, if that's really your name, then allow me to explain. There has been a large dragon sighted around Mondstadt recently. So best you get inside the city as soon as possible."

"A large dragon? I didn't know that."

"I see... Don't worry, I'll escort you to Mondstadt as soon as I finish my other tasks."

"I can walk there by myself. I don't want to trouble you in any way, so goodbye." Aether tries to walk away again, but Amber keeps blocking him.

"Sorry, but I'm not sure if I can trust you yet. So whether you like it or not you're coming with me."

Aether opens his mouth, but he stops himself. He couldn't bring himself to say anything.

"Mph, somehow the way you open your mouth gives me other ideas of who you might be. Come along now." Amber turns and walks where Aether was going. Aether follows. "So, suspicious traveler, what are you doing in Mondstadt?"

Aether didn't say anything. He looks down on the ground. Amber was getting impatient with his quiet attitude.

Aether looks up and notices Amber stopped. She took a deep breath and turned to him.

"Okay traveler, I want answers." she walks up to him. "Who are you really, why are you here? Are you with the Fatui? Are you with the Abyss? Treasure Hoarders? Hilichurl Secret Agent? Whoever you are I will-!"

"Okay okay. Give me some time to answer." Aether Answer hoping to end the conversation.

"I don't think so. As a member of the Knights of Favonius, it's my job to keep suspicious people in check and-."

"Look, I can't answer every question you have. I don't know anything. I don't know who's a Fatui, I don't know this Abyss, I don't know what a Treasure Hoarder is, and I don't know what a Hilichurl Secret Agent is! There, that's my answer, can I go now!?" Aether raised his voice, which shocked Amber.

Aether realized what just happened, what he said, and how he said it. He notices Amber's face, shocked and surprised by his tone.

"I... I'm sorry. I... I've been alone for a week now-, I-I-I-, I didn't mean to-."

"I know." Amber interrupt. "I'm sorry for playing 50 questions."

There was a moment of silence. Both of them didn't make a move. Amber looks at Aether while Aether looks at the ground. Amber took a deep breath and walk up to him, putting her hand on his shoulder

"Look, I don't know what's going on, but I can't just leave you here. So if you can just wait a little longer, I can take you back to the city."

"I think I can handle it."

"That's good to hear." Amber turns around and walks for a bit before stopping. "If there's anything you need, just ask me, okay?" Amber turn head to Aether with a smile. Aether nodded. "Okay, let's go."

Both Amber and Aether walk to where Amber needs to be.

Moments later, on the hills, Amber stops for a bit, which causes Aether to stay still as well. Amber points down to the ground to Aether as she crouches down a bit and moves slowly. Aether follows along, trying to make sure he doesn't miss Amber.

Amber stops, which cause Aether to stop as well.

"Make sure you stay quiet." Amber whisper. "This is a place I wanted to be." she pointed to the area she talked about. It seems to be a monster camp, with 3 monsters there.

"What's that?" Aether asks.

"This is a hilichurl camp, and those are hilichurls. Normally, these creatures would be further out in the wilderness. But the dragon of Mondstadt, Stormterror, has caused a lot of damage for us. Our orchards have been destroyed and the local market has been affected as well. Normally there would be a few injuries, but the Knights of Favonius have been doing their best to defend this area."

"So clearing the camp might do the trick?"

"Yup. Watch this." Amber summons a bow and extends her arms. She pulls the string which causes a fire arrow to appear. She let go and hit one of the hilichurl on the head. It fell to the ground and disappeared. It causes the other hilichurls to jump up and grab their weapon. One took a club, and the other took a crossbow.

"Stay here!" Amber yelled as she got up and ran to them. She kicks the one with the club and aims her bow to the other one. As she pulls the string to it, the hilichurl with the crossbow fires on the side where Amber's arm pulls the string. It messes up her aim causing her to miss. The hilichurl with the club got back up and charged to Amber.

"Amber!" Aether got up and ran to the hilichurl. He pushes it causing it to drop its club. It got back up and started digging. As Aether regained his foot step, the same hilichurl threw a rock at him, which caused him to fall again.

The hilichurl with the crossbow aims at Aether. Amber notices it and aims at said hilichurl again. She pulled the string and let go, causing a hit to it. It fell down off the hill and disappeared.

Meanwhile, the hilichurl Aether was fighting, tackles him. As Aether tries to hold it back, he turns to his left and notices a rusted sword. He reaches out for it, but the hilichurl grabs it first. It raises the sword high, with the blade towards Aether. All Aether could do was cross his arms to himself and prepare for the worst. But before the hilichurl could do anything, Amber kicked it at the last minute. She aims, pulls the string, and lets go before it can do anything. The arrow hit it, and with it, made it disappear as the hilichurl dropped the sword.

"Phew, that was close." Amber sighs as she walks to Aether. She gave him a hand, Aether took it and got back up. "You weren't too bad yourself."

"Yeah but, without a weapon, I was useless." Aether said.

"Don't say that. You did the best you could."

Aether couldn't help but smile a bit. He walks to the rusted sword, and picks it up.

"Oh no, don't tell me you're gonna use that. I doubt it will be that strong."

"I need something to defend myself."

"Then let's go get you a better one in Mondstadt. Let's clean up first, we gotta take this camp down."

"Got it."

Both Aether and Amber start to clean the area up, destroying the camp, spreading the sticks of the campfire, even making sure the small tower was down.

Once that was done, Amber set the remains on fire.

"Okay, this should turn them into ashes soon. Let's wait a while till then." said Amber.

"Okay." Aether sat down.

They watch as the fire continues to burn. Later though, Amber decided to stretch her arms out for a bit, as Aether continued to watch the fire. All he could think of in his mind was his sister. The sister that let him. Luumiine was nowhere to be seen. Even now he's wondering if she'll pop out. Once the fire died out, Lumine was still nowhere to be seen. He sighs in distress.

"Doing okay?" Amber asks.

"Yeah... I think so." Aether got up. "Let's get going."

"That's what I was about to say. I'll treat you when we get back. And maybe get you a new sword. And maybe-..." Amber walked to Aether and sniffed him before turning away. "Yup, a bath."

"Oh... sorry."

"It's fine. Come on, let's get going."

Amber and Aether started to walk to Mondstadt. Moments later, they got to a bridge. Across from them is a huge town with walls around it.

"Here we are, Mondstadt, the city of freedom." Amber explained. She walks ahead as Aether follows. "This place would normally be cheerful at time like these, but everyone's been put out of place by Stormterror recently."

"Is it that dangerous?"

"Yeah. But everything will turn out fine as long as Jean's with us!"

"Jean?"

"She's the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. Jean, Defender of Mondstadt. With Jean on our side, surely even the vicious Stormterror will be no match for us."

"She sounds really impressive."

Amber stops to turn to Aether.

"Yup. I'll take you to her right now... Once we get you a sword."

Aether holds out the rusted sword. "I think I should be okay with this though. Besides, I don't want to waste your time."

"Nonsense, you're not wasting my time. As a Knight of Favonius, it's my job to look after the people in Mondstadt."

"No it's okay." Aether made the rusted sword disappear. "I should be good."

Amber sighs. "How about this, I'll get you a new sword, but I'll let you keep the rusted one."

"No you don't have too-."

"I want to... Well, we wasted time talking over a sword, let's just head to Jean then." Amber walks ahead, with Aether following her.

As they walk, Aether looks around. He saw a small restaurant, a few shops, and even a water fountain. He noticed kids were running around and some guards behind some pathways.

Moments later, they got to a castle-like building.

"This is the Knights of Favonius Headquarters." Amber explains. "It's where we discuss battle strategies and what missions we have to do. And lucky for you Master Jean happens to be in there."

They both walk in. Amber took a right to a door as Aether followed.

"This is the office where Jean works. If there's anyone you can trust, it's Jean herself." Amber knocks on the door.

"Come in." a female's voice came.

"That's our Que." Amber opens the door and walks in.

Aether follows and looks around. Inside, there were bookshelves, a table, and a young woman standing behind it. She has a blond ponytail and she looks like she's in an office knight uniform.

"Grand Master Jean, I have completed my task." Amber explained.

"Good." the woman, who is named Jean, notices Aether. "Mind explaining who he is?"

"Oh him? He's a traveler named Aether. I found him while I was doing my task you asked me to do. He actually helped me fight the hilichurls."

"I see." Jean turns to Aether. She walked up to him. "You have my thanks."

"I just did what I thought I had to do." said Aether. "I couldn't stand back and watch."

"I understand. Is there a region you came from?"

"Oh um... Uh..." Aether couldn't say where he's from, since he and Lumine make sure they never share who they are. This could be bad considering what they might do if he says nothing.

"You don't have to say it if you don't want to." Jean explains. "Although I would like to know where you're from, I'd rather you say it when you think it's ready."

Aether took a deep breath. "Thank you."

"Is there anywhere you are staying?"

"I mostly camp outside, so I can't say I have a home. And I don't have any money to pay for an Inn."

"I see."

Suddenly, an idea came to Amber.

"How about he stays with me?" Amber explains. "It's the least I can do."

Aether shook his head. "No I don't want to trouble you with-."

"If that is what you want, I'll allow it as long as he doesn't cause trouble." Jean agrees.

"Great, come on Aether!" Amber grabs Aether by the arm and drags him.

Jean sighs with a smile on her face. "To think Amber is willing to give a home to someone we met. I sure hope nothing bad happens."

*Moments later*

Aether and Amber stop at a building. She opens the door and both of them walk in. Inside, iit seems to be a lobby.

"This is where I usually live." Amber explains. "I know it's not fancy, but iit the best way I can live."

"I see." Aether said. "It's not so bad though. I mean it's better than sleeping outside."

"Outside? Man, it must be a tiring week. Follow me. I'll take you to my room."

Amber walks up stars as Aether follows. They get to the second floor and Amber turns left causing Aether to do the same. Amber got to the door at the end of the hall and opened it. They both walk in.

Inside, there was a bed, a mini Kitchen area, a drawer with a mirror, a chair and a few picture frames, two doors, one assuming to be a closet and the other one being a bathroom, and a table with two chairs in the kitchen.

"This is my dorm." Amber introduced. "It's not the nicest place, but I hope this will do."

"It's okay Amber." said Aether. "If you don't mind-."

"Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. Bathroom's there, I suggest you go there now. I'll make us something to eat."

"Got it."

Aether went into the bathroom as Amber turned on the stove.

Aether looks around in the Bathroom. There was a toilet, a sink, a table that had clothes on it, and a bathtub. Aether wastes no time, he turns the water on and waits for it to run. He took his clothes off, placed them on the table and got in the bath. He breathes in and out as the water continues to run.

Meanwhile, Amber put a cooked steak on a plate and started to sear another one. After a few minutes, she placed the steak on another plate. She then grabbed two toothpicks and started to string little ribbons on them on top, before putting one on each steak.

She placed both plates on the table. After that, she then walks to her drawer and opens to look inside. She took out a white shirt and short brown pants. When she did though, she realized the underwear part...

She put the clothes back and walked to the bathroom door. She knocked on it.

"I'm gonna head out to get you clothings I'll be right back just hang in there." she said before leaving the room.

Aether sigh.

"I hope I'm not causing too much trouble for her." he said.

Times flew by and the sun was setting. Aether, who is now out of the bathroom, was wearing a white shirt with brown short pants. He and Amber were eating the steak she made moments ago, though it's now a bit cold due to Amber making a run for clothing to buy.

"The steak's really good." Aether complement.

"Thanks, sorry it got cold on us." said Amber.

"No it's okay."

They both finish their steak. Amber was wiping her mouth as Aether took a sip of his water.

"Hey Aether, how old are you?" Amber asks.

Aether took the question in. He was over a 1000 years old by now, but with his look, he seems to be...

"18 years old." he lied, trying to hide who he really is. "Why ask?"

"I was wondering because I got this wine I thought we could share. Though I guess your look should've told me otherwise, because you don't look like 18 to me."

"It's okay, I never plan on drinking any. One time as a kid I accidentally drank one, and I was dizzy all day. So I told myself even if I were to age, I will never drink."

"Shame, I would love to have a drink or 2 with you at some point." Amber walked to a counter in the kitchen and took a wine bottle. She also took a cup and sat down. She pours the wine into the cup and stopped.

"Do you want more water?" Amber asks.

"Sure, I'll go get it-."

"No it's okay. You're my guest so it's only right that I help you." before Aether could reply, Amber took his glass and went to get more water for him. "By the way, I sent your clothing to get washed by the maids, so you should get it back by the next day."

Later at night, Amber was drunk on her bed from all the wine she drank. Aether with a bed bag, was on the floor. He looked up at the ceiling. For the first time in his life, someone was showing him compassion, something Lumine lacked... Despite that though... He can't help but think he is wasting Amber's time...

*Meanwhile*

A small girl, who seems to be floating, was floating around at the Starfell Lake in Starfell Valley. Although the lake was small, it had some fishes.

The small girl tries to grab one, but whenever she slides to one, they swim away from her. Even when they jump, she would still miss them.

"Oh come on!" she yells. "All Paimon's want is a fish!" the small girl, who is named Paimon, flew to a tree and sat down, with her back on it.

She looks at the lake. Moments in, Paimon started to tear up.

"So that's it huh." she started.

Back at Amber, Aether couldn't help but tear up.

Aether/Paimon:... I'm gonna be alone... Forever.
