Stop that Train!
I'm so happy I was able to get at least one chapter out during my March Break. Not writing for that long was killing me. But, in a few days, i'll be back at college and pumping out more chapters more consistently. Meaning much more RWBY, 1(maybe 2) MHA chapter, and a few Fairy Tail chapters. And also, i'll be starting up the long awaited pokemon series. I've waited for my partner for a while but our schedules just don't seem to align for a while so i'm just gonna go ahead and start it finally. Go check it out if you're interested. Enjoy!
-15 Minutes ago- -Point of View: Amber-
"Amber...." A faint voice said to me as I was being woken up. "Amber, wake up! We've got a problem!" Drake said as I shot my eyes open. "What is it!? What's going on!?" I asked him as Oobeck entered the room. "Ms. Rose and Ms. Myst have not returned from retrieving Zwei. However, the dog was able to return but clearly, something is wrong as he came back whimpering. I fear those two may be in trouble. Grab your weapons. We must search for them." Oobleck ordered us all as we headed out of the building. We spread out to look for any signs of Leena or Ruby. Me and Drake went pretty far to the north of the city but for the most part, we found absolutely nothing. It wasn't until we started to head back when I finally saw something out of the ordinary. "Look over there! I think I see something!" I said as I pointed to some cracks in the ground that were on a nearby street. "Let's go then." Drake said as we went over to investigate. We found it was more than just cracks and that it was actually a huge hole in the ground that fell very deep. "Do you think they could've fell through here?" I asked Drake as he tried to look down the hole. "It's pretty dark down there. I can't really see anything. But it's the best lead we have. Let's call everyone over." He said as we yelled to our teammates. They quickly came over and inspected the hole we found. Oobleck took a longer look than anyone else, leaning over the edge and nearly falling in. "Of course... Of course, of course, of course!" Oobleck said as we all grew curious. "What is it!?" Yang asked as Oobleck began to walk around us all. "How could I be so stupid!?" Oobleck muttered. "Doctor Oobleck, what's wrong!?" Blake asked. "Mountain Glenn! Yes! An expansion of Vale that was inevitably destroyed by creatures of Grimm! Previously home to thousands of people! Working people, commuting to the city, the main city! Developed a subway system to the inner city! Grimm attacks increase! Population in danger, now desperately searching for shelter! City evacuates into metro tunnels and what do they find!? The southeast quadrant of Vale is known for wild forests and deep caves!" Doctor Oobleck explained as everyone was trying to keep up. "Doc, what are you saying!?" Yang asked as Oobleck shot right into her face. "My dear, we're not just looking for an underground crime network! We're looking for an underground crime network!" Oobleck explained as everything became much more clear.
"So they've been working in the caves?" Temair asked but Oobleck just shook his head. "No, no, Mountain Glenn was Vale's first serious attempt at expansion. It worked for a short period of time thanks to an aggressive perimeter defense and unique transportation. The city developed and elaborate subway system to carry citizens safely from the new territory in to the main kingdom. Sadly, without the many natural barriers Vale had to protect its borders, Mountain Glenn was doomed from the start. And as the end drew near, the citizens of the territory made one last attempt at survival. They took up shelter beneath the city, in massive caves that they had cleared out for the subway. And they had cut themselves off from the surface." Oobleck explained. "So, you're saying that down there is an underground village?" I asked him as he came me a hesitant nod. "In a matter of speaking, yes. A safe haven. Until... an explosion opened the mouth of another cavern... filled with subterranean Grimm. And after that... the kingdom officially sealed off the tunnels, creating the world's largest tomb. And if Ruby and Leena are down there... then we must find them." Oobleck said as he revealed his weapon. His thermos that he carried with him morphed into a staff with a large, open barrel at the front. "We'll descend into this opening. It's the best option we have if we want to find them. We jump on three..." Oobleck said as we all gathered around the hole in the ground. "One..." Oobleck said as I looked around to everyone. Each of my friends didn't look afraid at all, giving off expressions of determination and courage. "Two..." Oobleck said as I tried to focus. If my friends weren't afraid, then I shouldn't be either. "Three!" Oobleck yelled as we jumped into the hole. It wasn't a long fall, maybe around 6 seconds. We all were able to land safely on our feet and continue searching. We appeared to land on the top of a building when we got a look around. Looking over the edge of the building, we could see the remains of the civilization that tried to survive in this cave system. All it was now was ruins and corpses. "I found something!" Weiss said to all of us as she held two objects in her hands. They were Leena and Ruby's weapons. "This isn't good. They could've fallen off of this location or worse... they may have encountered an unknown enemy. We must be swift and find them. Stick together for now. We'll make our way to the floor of the cavern and continue from there. Be on guard at all times. Let's move." Oobleck said as we entered through an entrance of the building we were on. We quickly made our way down the stairs until we finally arrived on the bottom floor. We exited the building and headed towards some visible train tracks.
"Humans! Kill them!" Someone yelled as we started to take fire. We all unsheathed our weapons and began firing back. Hiding along the sides of some other buildings were members of the White Fang. "Looks like we found their hideout!" Yang said as she ran forward. She launched several projectiles at our enemies that exploded on contact. They blew back the White Fang members, allowing us to pass and make it to the train tracks. When we got there, we looked all the way down the tracks to see a train being loaded up. And next to the train was a relieving sight. Ruby and Leena were there. Only problem was that they were being held by some White Fang members, who were being led by Torchwick. However, Ruby was able to slip past Torchwick and the White Fang and make a run for us. They opened fire on her and we returned fire to give her some cover. "Weiss! Make an ice wall!" Drake yelled to her as she obliged and created one right behind Ruby. She was able to safely make it to us without getting inured. She hugged Yang as Blake went to give her weapon back to her. "Are you okay, Ruby!?" Weiss asked as Yang let go of her. "I'm fine, i'm fine! But listen... Torchwick's got all sorts of weapons and robots on that train. Androids, Mechs, they're all loaded up on those train cars. He's also got Leena!" Ruby explained as I saw Drake was clenching his fists. "They're on the train? That's ridiculous! These tunnels are sealed. The tracks lead to a dead end." Oobleck explained as an intercom system turned on. "Get to your places! We are leaving now!" Torchwick said into the microphone as he turned off the intercom. The train ahead of us then began to move, and we saw no one was standing outside it anymore. "They all boarded the train! And they took Leena with them!" I said as we all took off to try and catch the train. "Well it certainly looks like they're going somewhere!" Yang said as we picked up the pace. "What do we do?" Temair asked. "I believe we only have one option, everyone!" Oobleck said as Drake ran forward ahead of everyone, leading us to the train. "We're stopping that train." Drake said in a serious tone as he leaped forward, just grabbing onto the back of the train. Everyone followed his lead as we all made it to the train before it picked up enough speed.
We all climbed onto the roof of the train car, figuring it would be easier to move along the train that way. "Weiss! Check that hatch! See what's inside this train car." Oobleck ordered as Weiss cut open the hatch. "Um... Professor Oobleck..." Weiss began to say as Oobleck interrupted her and said "Doctor!" "What is that?" Weiss asked him as Oobleck looked into the car. We all did the same and saw a strange looking metal device with wires going all around it. It sort of looked like a generator. "That my dear... appears to be a bomb." Oobleck said as we all took a step back. "What!? What's a bomb doing on the train!?" Temair asked as Ruby started to point ahead of us. "We've got baddies!" She said as we all looked to where she was pointing. She was right. Dozens of White Fang members were climbing onto the top of the train, each carrying weapons. "Ruby, Temair, both of you will stay with me and fend off the enemies from above. Everyone else, find another entrance into the train and try and make it to the front. That's our best chance of stopping this train." Oobleck ordered us as we did as he said. We all ran towards the White Fang members, opening fire on them. Each of us were able to knock out several with our weapons and eventually, Yang was able to make an opening in another train car by punching a White Fang soldier through the roof. When we finished off the rest of the enemies, we all jumped into the train car we were on. Me, Drake, Yang, Weiss, and Blake all made it inside safely but we were met by an intimidating new foe. It was Torchwick's henchman, Neo. She stood at the exit to the next train car, twirling the umbrella she held in her hands. "Everyone, keep moving forward. This one's mine." Yang said as Drake, Weiss, and Blake did as she said. Neo allowed them to pass by her as well, so it was obvious that there were more enemies up ahead. "I'm staying too. I've got a score to settle from that night." I said as I cracked my knuckles.

"Let's take her down!" Yang yelled as she ran forward, bringing back one of her fists to deliver a punch to Neo. She threw it forward but something strange happened when she did that. The moment she was about to strike Neo, Yang for some reason stumbled and missed her punch. She tried again and again but the same thing just kept happening. "Move aside! Let me try!" I said as I pointed both of my weapons at Neo. Yang jumped out of the way as I started unloading bullets at her. They were making contact but when they would hit, they would break off parts of Neo, almost like she was made of glass. She seemed to be totally fine though. "Not working! I'm going back in!" Yang said as she went to punch Neo again. Neo reformed the broken parts of her body and jumped backwards, just dodging Yang. She did a cartwheel and then sat down on an ammo crate, looking rather perky. I then extended out my blades using my chains and tried to latch them onto Neo. She used her Umbrella to knock my blades away but this created an opening for Yang. She went in for yet another strike as Neo was still sitting on that ammo crate. Yang got in close but Neo simply lifted up her legs and began twirling them around, blocking all of Yang's punches. "How's she able to stop each of our attacks!?" I thought to myself as I retracted my blades back to me. Neo jumped off the crate and over Yang, landing in between us both. I put both of my weapons away and held up my fists. I figured this was a better decision since Yang looked like she was getting her attacks to come much closer to Neo. I activated my Semblance, my body faintly glowing with a white outline. Me and Yang then leaped forward, readying our fists to try and land an attack on Neo.
We both came right up to Neo, myself going low while Yang went high, trying to hit Neo's face. But like before, parts of Neo's body would break off like glass, and she would seem totally fine. Neo just kept on smiling as she shoved her umbrella into my left cheek. It knocked me down and she continued to beat me, hitting several parts of my body until I laid there, nearly motionless. She was able to overwhelm my Semblance, which increases my own defense, with just a few hits from her umbrella. "Stop it! Face me!" Yang said as she seemed to catch Neo off guard. She went for a punch as Neo had her head turned away from her. Neo leaned her head out of the way, barely dodging Yang's fist which went by her head. Neo then did a handstand, and grabbed onto Yang's arm with her legs. She began to whip Yang around in the air using her legs before finally launching her up into the ceiling. Yang hit her head upon contact and fell down to the floor hard. She laid there, barely conscious just like myself. Neo then patted off some dust on her jacket and walked over to where Yang landed. She detached the handle from her umbrella, revealing a hidden blade underneath. She was going to kill Yang. "N-No... stop... please!" I begged but I was so weak, my vision was blurry and I couldn't move.
But as Neo was about to slay Yang, a strange red portal suddenly opened up out of nowhere. Someone came running out of it. They were clad in red armor, wearing a Grimm mask and having long black hair.
The person unsheathed a red bladed katana from its hilt and tried to slash Neo with it. Neo grew a frightened expression and jumped out of the way just in time before getting hit. Neo began slowly walking backwards, keeping that scared look on her face the whole time. And then, Neo jumped into the air and simply vanished into this air, most likely thanks to her Semblance. I kept my eyes on this mystery person though. They now stood over Yang, but it didn't seem like this person was going to hurt her. She waved her blade behind her, making another red portal. The person then withdrew their blade and stepped into the portal as it closed. They were gone. I tried to crawl over to Yang who now had her eyes open. "Yang... are you okay?" I asked as I found the strength to sit on my knees. "I think so. It just sucks that little Ms. pink and brown got away again." Yang said as she sat up. "I guess we owe our thanks to that mystery person. Any idea who that could've been?" I asked Yang as she was deep in thought. "No, I don't have a clue. But we can't just sit around and think about it. Let's keep moving. We've gotta stop this train and find Leena." Yang said as she stood up, helping me to my feet too. "Right. Let's go. Hopefully the others are having a better time than we are." I said as we ran to the exit of the train car.
As we were about to head into the next car, we heard a loud, thunder-like sound. "What was that!?" I asked as Yang ran over to the hole in the train car we were in. She jumped up and saw Oobleck there. "Doc, what's happening? What made that loud noise?" She asked him. "It's the train cars! The ones that have bombs in them detach and explode, creating openings for the Grimm to get inside. Torchwick is leading them somewhere!" Oobleck explained as Yang looked back over to me. "The others can handle Torchwick. We should help out here and stop the incoming Grimm!" Yang said as I gave her a nod. She climbed back onto the room of the train as I did the same. When we got up, we saw hundreds, maybe even thousands of Grimm following the train. There were so many different kinds, each as destructive and deadly as the last. Whatever Torchwick had planned, it would certainly be huge if this many Grimm were involved. We all just had to hope that Drake and the others could find and stop him before it was too late.
