Now we'll be getting into actual matches that happen in RWBY. Hopefully, you enjoyed the addition of team RZOR, and i'm just gonna say, they won't be the only new team in this series. DLTA will be facing off against two new OC's in the doubles round. However, you'll just have to wait in order to find out. We won't be getting to the doubles round for a few chapters, so just sit tight. I'll try my best to get there soon. I'm just so happy to start this volume, because I have so many things planned. Not just for the Vytal festival, but also for the upcoming battle of Beacon. That's quite a fair distance away right now though. Enjoy!

"O-HO! It seems we have another astonishing bout ahead of us! Wouldn't you agree, professor!?" Professor Port asked Oobleck. "Doctor. And yes, I think it's safe to say that this is one of the closest we've seen in the 4-on-4 round of the tournament." Oobleck explainedas Port jumped back in. "Now, let's get back to the match between team RWBY of Beacon, and team ABRN of Haven." Port said as we all continued to focus on the battle. They were right though, the two teams seemed evenly matched. No combatants had been eliminated yet. Yang was in a fight with ABRN's leader, Arslan. Arslan was proving to be more than a match for Yang, trading blow for blow with every strike. They were making shockwaves after each hit as well. However, Arslan gained the upper hand by using a rope dart that she kept in one of her sleeves. She wrapped it around one of Yang's legs, tripping her up and allowing Arslan to deliver a heavy blow. Yang was sent flying into the ice portion of their battlefield. Yang had trouble standing as the ice was very slippery, making her wide open for an attack by another member of ABRN, Nadir. He wielded an assault rifle and he took aim at Yang. However, right before he started firing, Ruby shot some ice Dust crystals that were right behind Nadir. This caught him off guard, making him drop his weapon. Nadir's legs were also frozen in place. And after Ruby did that, another member of ABRN snuck up on her. His name was Bolin and he wielded a long staff. He was preparing to strike her but he was intercepted by Weiss who kicked him into the lava section of their battlefield. Both Ruby and Weiss went to battle him, each taking aim with their weapons. Weiss attacked first, creating large ice crystals that shot at Bolin. Bolin rolled out of the way before getting hit, but this let Ruby go in for an attack. She swung her massive scythe at him, but again, Bolin just rolled underneath it. He ran right past both Weiss and Ruby and broke off a piece of lava Dust from the ground. He then threw it to the final member of ABRN, Reese. She caught it and inserted it into her weapon, a hover board with blades. Normally, this weapon was green in colour but when she put the lava Dust in it, the board changed to a red colour. She was currently in combat with Blake. Reese hopped onto her board and quickly dodged Blake's attacks. She traveled across the battlefield over to Nadir. She moved her board over the ice that was covering his legs. The heat from the lava Dust quickly melted the ice, allowing Nadir to get back into the fight. 

Reese then went back over to Blake, firing off flame shots from the front of her board. Blake ran away, taking cover behind a giant ice crystal. Reese circled around and saw Blake just standing in place with her back turned to her. Reese obviously took this chance, thinking she was wide open for an attack. And when she came close enough to Blake, she slashed at her with the blades on her board. However, Blake was using her semblance, Shadow, to make a clone of herself and trick Reese. The clone disappeared, now leaving Reese open for an attack. Blake threw her weapon forward, stretching it out using a tether line. The blade on her weapon latched onto an ice crystal. Blake pulled hard, tightening the tether as Reese ran right into it. She fell off her board and before she could even land on the ground, Blake delivered a hard kick to her back, sending Reese right out of the arena. "Ooooh! A double whammy! Reese Chloris is eliminated by ring-out and and aura level!" Professor Port announced as Oobleck jumped in. "Oh she really should've worn a helmet! But with that, we're down to 4-on-3!" He said as we continued to focus on the fight. 

Bolin was back to fighting Weiss and Ruby, although, he wasn't doing too well considering it was 2-on-1. Weiss struck him with the end of her sword, sending him sliding backwards and crashing into Nadir who was lining up a shot on Yang. They both fell over, allowing Weiss to take advantage of them. She injected her sword into the ground, then activated her semblance, creating a huge Glyph around her and her two opponents. From the Glyph below Nadir and Bolin, Weiss created a massive hand made of ice and grabbed onto the both. It closed and then took the shape of an ice ball. The two of them were trapped in it from the waste down as the ball began to roll. They were headed for the edge of the arena. Arslan was their only hope as she used her rope dart to slide herself along the ice, stopping in front of the rolling ice ball. She prepared to strike the ball, stomping one foot down behind her and readying her right fist. When the ball was close enough, she threw a punch so hard that it shattered the ice ball, freeing her teammates. However, Weiss tried to capitalize on the situation. Using her semblance, she created a huge ice ramp that faced team ABRN. She called out to Yang, sending her the message to start sliding. Yang did as told and she used her gauntlets to pick up speed, sliding along the ice ramp. To make her go faster, Blake threw her weapon over to Yang, while Blake held onto the tether portion of it. Yang caught it and Blake ran forward, ahead of Yang. Blake jumped onto Rwby's scythe as Ruby fired off a shot, launching Blake forward into the air. Blake then pulled hard on the tether, launching Yang over her and rocketing her over to team ABRN. The remaining members of ABRN were lined up, and they just realized what was going on and faced Yang. However, Yang was moving too fast for any of them to counter. Yang threw a single punch, hitting all the members of ABRN. She sent them all flying backwards into a large boulder on the lava side of the field. "With their aura depleted, that's the match! Team RWBY is victorious!" Port announced as the crowd went wild. We watched as Ruby jumped for joy, along with the rest of her team celebrating in victory. "Now that was a match. I'd say it was a little closer than ours for sure." Leena said as I agreed with her. "Yeah, for sure. Let's go meet them. We'll get some lunch and then watch a couple of more matches." I said as everyone on my team agreed. We then left our seats and went to meet team RWBY at the battle gates. 

Ten minutes later, the eight of us were wandering around the fairgrounds at Beacon academy. "Is anyone else starved?" Ruby said weakly, indicating how hungry she was. "I may have worked up an appetite." Blake said as we all heard her stomach growl loudly. "Gee, if only there were somewhere on campus to get food around here. Oh wait..." Weiss said, looking around to all the food stands in the fairgrounds. "It's okay, Weiss. I forget about the fairgrounds too." Ruby said. "I was being facetious." Weiss said. "Well, if you were hungry, why didn't you say so?" Ruby said as we walked through the grounds, looking for somewhere good to grab some lunch. "Hey! It might be hard to eat without this!" Someone said to us as we all turned to face them. It was Emerald and she was holding Ruby's wallet in her hand. "What!? No, no, no, no." Ruby said, searching her pockets and finding nothing. Emerald handed her wallet back to her. "Good to see you all." Emerald said to us. "Yeah, it's good to see you too. Are you in one of the matches later?" I asked her. "Actually, we just finished our match. We won pretty quickly. And you all were great too. Both of your matches were awesome!" She explained to us. "You know, I feel like we never get to see your other teammates. How'd they do in the fight?" Weiss asked her. "Really well." Emerald said slowly. "Hey, that's great! Why don't we all go out and get some victory food together, then?" Leena asked her. "Oh gosh, that's so nice of you but, my teammates are all kind of... introverted. Really socially awkward." Emerald explained as she looked to Mercury who was behind her, sniffing boots at a stand. "ooooh, yeah. I could see that." Yang said. "So yeah, looks like Merc and I are moving onto the doubles round. What about you guys?" Emerald asked us. "Well as the leader of this team, I thought long and hard about this decision." Ruby began to explain as Weiss jumped in. "We put it to a vote." She said. "Uh, yes, but I decided that we should put it to a vote." Ruby said. "We voted for Weiss and Yang." Blake said. "I will happily represent team RWBY." Weiss said, bowing to Emerald. "Yeah, we're gonna kick some butt!" Yang said, cracking her knuckles. 

"And what about you guys?" Emerald asked me and my team. "We did the same as team RWBY and put it to a vote. And our final decision is to make Temair and Amber represent DLTA in the doubles round." I explained to Emerald. "I won't let you down, captain." Temair said to me. "There's no stopping us!" Amber said as she started clinging to my left arm again. Emerald started laughing and then said "Well, if Mercury and I see any of you down the line, don't think we'll go easy on you." "Wouldn't have it any other way." Yang said as Emerald started to walk away. "Alright. Well, we're gonna go and catch a few more matches. See ya around." She said to us as we waved her off. "Have fun!" Ruby said as the eight of us continued through the fairgrounds, looking for a place to eat. 

We finally settled down at a noodle shop, our teams lined up on the sides of the stand. "I'll have the regular." Yang said as she was handed a rather large bowl of noodles. "Ooooh. I'll have the same." Ruby said as she was given her noodles. "Do you have anything with a low salt-" Weiss tried to ask but she was given a regular bowl of noodles before she could finish. The cook then looked at Blake, and I saw she gave him a nod. The cook then rushed into his kitched and whipped up a special bowl of noodles. He gave it to Blake and we saw it was full of fish meat. She was drooling over the sight of it. "Temair, Amber, do you want a special dish?" I asked them as they both shook their heads. "We'll all just have the regular too." Leena said as we were handed four bowls of noodles. I payed for everyone on my team, as a celebration for winning the 4-on-4 round of the tournament. And as for team RWBY, Weiss handed the cook her credit card. "Aww, What's the occasion, Weiss?" Yang asked her. "Consider it as thanks for sending me to the doubles round." Weiss said as the cook threw her credit card back at her. He then pointed at his cash register, and the screen on it said "declined." "What!? How can my card be declined? I was barely into my monthly allowance." Weiss said as the cook took away all their food. But as he did that, four more people showed up. "Maybe I can help?" Pyrrha asked as she and the rest of team JNPR sat down with us. "Aw, you don't have to." Yang said. "But she could!" Blake said quickly, just showing how hungry she was. "Well, I think you all earned it after that battle." Pyrrha said as Jaune jumped in. "Mind if we join you?" He asked as I nodded to him. "Sure. Just pull up some seats." I said as they sat across from us. Pyrrha payed for both her team and team RWBY, and we all digged into our food.

When we were finished, everyone looked stuffed. And Jaune looked like he was going to throw up. "Are you sure it's wise to have eaten before a fight?" Ren asked Pyrrha. "Of course. It will give us energy." Pyrrha said as Nora let out a loud burp. Jaune then put his head down on the table, groaning rather loudly. "Uugh, if I barf i'm blaming you." He said to Pyrrha. "Oooh, aim it at the enemy!" Nora said which made us laugh a bit. "Nora! That's disgusting! But if you do feel the urge-" Ren said as Jaune gave him a thumbs up. "Got it." He said as he and his team stood up from their table. "Well, we should be off." Pyrrha said. "So, do you think you guys are ready?" Ruby asked them. "Of course! We've got a world-renowned fighter on our team, what's basically a ninja, I can bench five of me, ...Jaune, we've trained all year, our weapons are AWESOME, Glynda barely yells at us anymore, and uh... Jaune!" Nora explained as I looked over to Jaune. "Are you gonna take that?" I asked him. "She's not wrong..." He said, keeping his head down on the table. "I'm kidding! He knows i'm kidding! Don't be so nervous! The worst that could happen is we lose! Then it's just a few more years of walking around school with everyone knowing we're failures, our friends will slowly abandon us to preserve their social status, we won't be able to show our faces in class, no one will sit with us in the cafeteria, Ren and I have no parents, we have no home left to go to, we'll be officially renamed team LOSE-iper!" Nora explained as she slammed her head down on the table, nearly sobbing from her thoughts. "Sooo yeah. We're feeling pretty good." Ren said. "Don't fret. If anything, we should be looking forward to a fight with actual guidelines and not... well, murderers." Pyrrha said as we all agreed with her. "Yeah, don't sweat it. We've all faced way worse before." Temair said. "Let's see: Grimm invasions, violent extremists, a destructive sociopath." Blake listed as Ruby butted in. "And that's all while we're still in training! Imagine what it'll be like when we graduate!" She said, looking very eager. "Maybe then i'll be able to pay for a meal." Weiss said as the PA system around the fairgrounds turned on. "Would team JNPR please report to the battlegrounds immediately." Professor Port said as Oobleck jumped in to say "Yes! Like they were scheduled to several minutes ago!" The PA system then cut out. "Well, it looks like this is it! Let's get going, team!" Pyrrha said as everyone in team JNPR left for the stadium. The eight of us followed shortly after until we made it to the stadium. 

When we got to the stands, we all looked around for some seats. Sadly, there wasn't eight empty seats next to each other. There was six together so Amber and Temair went with team RWBY to watch. Me and Leena found four that were empty and we quickly made our way to them before they were taken. When we got there and sat down, the other two seats quickly became occupied by Emerald and Mercury. "Hey big guy, how's it going?" Mercury asked me as he sat down next to me with a big bucket of popcorn. "Not too bad. Feeling pretty good from our win earlier. And Emerald tells me your team won and that you and her are moving onto the doubles round. Nice going." I said as I gave him a light punch on his left arm. "Hey thanks. I was kinda hoping you went into the doubles round actually. If our teams fought, i'm sure that would've been one awesome clash." Mercury said as we both started laughing. And then, another member of Emerald and Mercury's team showed up. She sat behind them and grabbed some of Mercury's popcorn. It was the girl with the long black hair and orange eyes that I met before. "I wonder who's gonna win?" Mercury asked. Emerald did say something to him but I wasn't able to hear it. "Oh, come now. Even if you know how a story ends, that doesn't make it any less fun to watch." The black haired girl said as the two teams began to enter the arena. Team JNPR made their way into the centre first, followed by a team that took me and Leena by surprise. "Drake! Look who it is!" She said loudly, pointing at the opposing team. My jaw nearly dropped because we both knew everyone on the other team. "And now, introducing team BRNZ (Bronze), representing the kingdom of Vacuo and Shade academy!" Port announced as the four members of BRNZ walked to the centre of the arena. "Friends of yours?" Mercury asked me. "Yeah. We all went to huntsman primary school together. Except they all went to Shade academy, where as me and Leena here came to Beacon." I explained to Mercury as the match was about to begin. "And the battleground environments will be... Mountain and Forest!" Oobleck said as both teams pulled out all their weapons. Our friends on team BRNZ all had fairly simple weapons, but each of them were very proficient with them. Brawnz Ni, their leader wielded metal claws on the back of his hands. Roy Stallion, used two buzz saws that he could launch from his hands. Nolan Porfirio, a close friend of mine, used a simple electrifying cattle prod. And lastly, May Zedong, a very close friend of Leena's used a similar weapon to her as well. She wielded a powerful sniper rifle. "Three..." Port began to say as both teams took ready positions. "Two... One... BEGIN!!" Port shouted as both teams clashed.
